"Can't believe we're actually back here, Burpy," said Eli as they left the secret room in the sewers and headed for the way out.
"Don't worry guys, I promise we'll find the Surface Slug and get back," he said after feeling how uncomfortable his slugs were. As soon as he reached the surface, Eli headed straight for his house.
"Good thing she's not home yet," said Eli while looking at the empty driveway before heading inside.
"Dad once told me that this was the third best thing he ever had after mom and I," he said as he went to a cabinet where he picked up a small golden globe.
"So if there is any place to hide the Surface Slug this would be it," he said.
"Eli?" came a voice from behind him which made the young Shane freeze.
"Mom," said Eli while turning to see a woman who had walked in behind him with groceries in her hands.
"You actually found your way home," said Mrs. Shane as she rushed to hug him, dropping the bags in the process.
"I did, but I can't stay long," said Eli.
"How bad is it?" asked his mother while letting him go and looking at her son with a worried expression.
"Bad enough that I need to use this little guy to stop it," said Eli before twisting the top off the globe which released a golden light.
"The Surface Slug," said Mrs. Shane while looking at a purely golden slug that looked like it had just awoken from a long sleep.
"I can't believe things have actually gotten that bad," she said.
"And I promise to tell you everything once this is all over, but I'm kind of running on a ticking timer right now and need to get back to Slugterra," said Eli.
"Then get going, young man," said Mrs. Shane before hugging her son.
"Alright little guy, I hope you're ready for some action," said Eli as the Surface Slug smiled at him while climbing into a shell.
