Prologue
Misplaced
In another world, where the sea was the clouds and the lands were living creatures, this is Alrest. A world where weapons were beings and the air itself was filled with magic. Yes, Alrest was quite a sight to see with many interesting sights to see but for a certain batch of soon to be individuals there were about to take a wild ride.
It all began in a small room where two stubby creatures called Nopon were busy working on a strange contraption. The device in question was a large ring made of metal with multiply blinking lights around its edge. One of Nopons then started to type away at a computer that was hooked up to the device, all while the other Nopon looked nervously at the device.
"Meh,meh, are you sure that this will work?" One Nopon asked clearly scared of the device they created
"Assistant-pon worries too much, once device is turned on…greatest discovery will be achieved!" the other Nopon shouted with glee
So with a smile on his face and a simply push of the button, the machine awoke and started to burst with energy. The ring then started to spin, going faster and faster until becoming a blur while inside the ring a small patch of blue appeared in the center. Both Nopon looked in awe, waiting eagerly for the hopeful result to occur. The patch then started to grow until it took up more space in the ring, it almost reached the edge of the ring causing both Nopons to start shacking with anticipation…then it stopped. The ring then stopped spinning causing the blue patch to disappear completely. Seeing this both Nopons then let out a sigh of defeat, seeing there experiment was a failure.
"I am sure I made all the right calculations, no such error should have occurred" a Nopon said, checking over his computer for an error he had missed.
Although what the Nopons didn't know is that there device did work…just not the way they expected it to go. For you see there device was supposed to open a gateway to another world and while it did do that, it didn't make one big portal instead it made dozens of small invisible portals all around Alrest. Now due to their size there not a danger to anyone who comes near them but just big enough to pull…a few items through that being three certain crystals. Yes, when the portals appeared all around, three Core Crystals were unfortunately sucked through the portals and went on a trip to an unknown world and it was there that they will meet the most unlikely of people and most heroic of heroes.
