Chapter 1
Attack on the Kingpin
It was a bright morning in the bustling city of New York, many people were walking a bout with their daily routines…well everyone expect for one. For in a small apartment laid a young man, with short brown hair and paleish skin, he was currently sleeping away on a small and slightly raggedy bed. This is Peter Parker, twenty three year old young man, assistant scientist and of course…New York's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Currently the young hero was busy catching some Z's after a long day of work both as a scientist and as a super hero, but unfortunately for young Peter his sleep would not last much longer.
Why, because Peter's phone then started to ring causing the secret hero to groan awake as he grabbed his phone. Looking at it he saw it was police alert, something that Peter kept his eyes on intensely after all you never know when the city needs its fellow wall crawler. Anyway, Peter then pressed the screen on his phone causing the police alert to play.
"All units, level four mobilization, Location… Fisk Tower"
This caused Peter to bolt up in his bed and stare in shock at his phone at what he heard.
"Fisk?!" he said in surprise
Without wasting anytime, Peter then jumped out of bed has he got ready for the one thing he has been waiting for since eight years ago. So Peter threw some bread into the toaster for a quick breakfast, he then started running around the room gathering up all his Spidey gear that he left lying around in his room. In no time he was suited up in his signature red and blue costume, all ready to take down Fisk.
'Okay, it's go time!' Peter thought with a slight bit of excitement
Peter then started to adjust the lenses on his mask, making sure his HUD was working, but while he did a small envelope then slid under his door with the words eviction notice on it.
'Crud, my bills…maybe I should…' Peter thought contemplating if he should take a few moments to pay his past due rent
"SWAT is 10-84 at Fisk Tower. All units standby, warrant is en route" his phone played
That changed his mind really quickly has he turned around and jumped out of the window of his apartment and was greeted to the light of morning sun and the sounds of New York City. Then with a flick of his wrist he then shot a web line from his web shooter and swung across the skyscrapers with one destination in mind.
'I better call Yuri, see how things are doing up their' Peter thought as he activated his built in phone in his mask
"Captain Watanabe" the voice of Yuri said over the line
"Did you take him down yet?" Spidey asked, hoping he didn't miss the action yet
"No, were still waiting on the warrant" Yuri replied
"Mind if I join the fun?"
"You know how his lawyers are, this one needs to go by the book"
"Oh come on Yuri, I've been waiting eight years for this"
Of course that was no lie, after all ever since the arachnid hero meet the crime boss he wanted nothing more but to put him away and now was that time.
"You really want to help? Head to Time Square, seems some of Fisk's men are trying hold up my back up" Yuri said
"Got it, almost there" Spidey replied as he disconnected, "I can't believe it the days here and once I finish up his goons I'm coming for you Willy" he said, sounding a bit giddy in his voice
Of course his train of thought was interrupted by another call that came through his mask.
"Uh, Hello" Peter said
"Parker? Where are you, we still need to do one final test before the grand comminute arrives" a voice said making Peter wince at his forgetfulness
'Shoot! The test I totally forgot' Peter thought
"Um yeah sure, I'm just dealing with a…personal issue don't worry I'll be in soon" Spidey replied as he ended the call, "I better wrap things up here quick and get to my "real" job" he said to himself just in time to see Time Square just up ahead.
In time square, several cops were pinned down from heavy gunfire from several of Fisk's men, all with the intent of stopping the cops from reaching their bosses tower.
"We need more back-up!" One of the cops shouted
"10-32 officers under fire!" another cop shouted into his radio
The gunfire then stopped from Fisk's men as one of the men then placed his fingers on his earpiece.
"Bring in the hammer" he ordered
With the officers, since they didn't hear anymore gunfire from there opposition, they then pointed their guns at the thugs only to hear the sound of a large diesel causing everyone to jump out of the way of the rampaging truck. The diesel then crashed causing it's fuel tanker to tip over and explode, giving Fisk's men the signal to advance and take out the remaining officers. Although before they could, one by one, their guns were taken away from them by several web lines until Spider-Man landed right in front of them.
"Morning guys, now who's ready for their fresh cup of bodily harm" Spidey quipped as the thugs attacked
Spider-Man then got to work taking out one thug after the other, easily defeating them with some quick punches and kicks. Suddenly another truck came barreling through Time Square until stopping where Spider-Man is as a few more men jumped off the vehicle.
"Shoot the freak now!" one thug shouted as they opened fired at him
But due to his enhanced agility, Spider Man easily dodged every bullet coming his way. Once they ran out, he then got busy taking down more of Kingpin's thugs.
"Man, Fisk's got a lot of guys on his payroll" Spidey commented, amazed by the amount of thugs here
Suddenly Spidey's phone then went off as he answered it while slamming one guy into the ground.
"Spider-Man, what's your status?" Yuri said over the line
"Just about finished here, how about you?" Spidey asked in kind
"We're about to go in" Yuri replied, hearing gunshots in the background
"I'll be there soon" Spidey replied, ending the call
Once the last guy was taken care of he then called Yuri again in order to check up on her.
"All finished here, what now…" Spidey said until something cut him off
There in the distance was a large explosion, right where Fisk Tower was making Spider-Man's lenses widen in shock.
"Yuri? Yuri?!" Spidey shouted into the mask hoping that the captain was okay but got no reply
Spidey then got busy swinging to Fisk Tower, hoping that his comrade was okay while also grumbling under his breath.
"I knew Fisk wouldn't go down that quietly, got to hurry" Spidey said to himself as he swung
In no time at all he had made it to Fisk Tower where he found multiply police cars and SWAT trucks forming a barricade as Fisk's men were firing from multiply floors of the building. Among the chaos was a young black haired woman of Asian descent, Yuri Watanabe, who was busy trying not to get shot while also trying to give out orders.
"We need more back up and someone lock down the airspace!" Yuri shouted into her radio
She then was a bit startled by the sound of something landing on the side of the armored truck, making her look up to see none other than Spider-Man.
"You okay?" he asked as she nodded in response
"If Fisk gets out of that building were going to lose him" Yuri said, Spidey nodding in agreement
"I'm gonna to go uh…" Spidey said, pointing to the chaos
"Do your thing" Yuri said as the arachnid hero pumped his fist with a yes
So without skipping a beat, Spider-Man then swung into action, dodging gunfire as he went until grabbing an unsuspecting gunman and crashed through the window with him. Once inside, he was met with even more chaos as a shootout between Police and thugs was going on.
"Follow me everyone, I'll clear a path for you!" Spider-Man shouted as he entered the fray
"Get out of here Spider-Man, we got this" a cop said as Spidey rolled his eyes under his mask
"Sorry buddy, but you guys don't got this" Spidey replied as he threw an empty trash can at a goon, easily knocking them out
Spider-Man then got busy taking down each thug in sight until none were in standing, causing the cops to move forward and try to access the elevator only to see it was off line.
"Elevators are out, take the stairs!" the cop shouted as they ran for the stairs
"No thanks, I'll take a more direct approach" Spidey said as he pried open the doors of the elevator
Once open he then started to crawl up the elevator shaft thanks to his spider powers until he entered into a vent.
"Spider-man, status?" Yuri called in his mask
"Heading to the upper floors and hoping that no one turns on the elevators" Spidey replied as he crawled through the vents
"Our choppers are under fire, he must have armed men on ever floor"
"He's desperate…I have to find him and stop all this"
"Not yet, we just heard radio chatter that there wiping there servers, we need that evidence so we can lock up Fisk for good"
"Okay then, server room it is then"
Once she said that Spider Man then jumped out of the vent and landed onto the floor where he was greeted to another chaotic scene between Fisk and the police.
'Geez, Fisk is really going all out' Peter thought observing the scene
Suddenly he heard a ringing in his mask and saw the caller I.D. making him wince at who it was.
"It's Aunt May, better take this" Spidey said to himself as he answered the call, "Hi, aunt May" he greeted
"Peter is that you, what is that noise?" Aunt May asked, as Spidey dodged a hail of bullets
"Just ah…watching a superhero movie. What's up?" Spidey asked
"I just wanted to call to make sure were still on for dinner tonight" May asked
"Yep totally…um mind if I call you back later?" Spidey asked has he kicked a thug with a roundhouse kick
"Oh, sure, I love you" she replied
"Love you too" Peter said back as he ended the call
Once the thugs were taken care of, he then zipped up to the next floor to see the server room and a lot of people busy at work behind the door.
"Can't barge through this way, they'll destroy everything and then there will be no evidence" Spider-Man said as he looked around the area for another way
He then saw it when he saw a vent attached to the roof. So he then quickly zipped up to it and climbed in as he made his way to the server room.
"I have to admit, for a filth crime lord Willy has some very clean air vents" Spidey commented has he crawled on
He then looked down at a grate below and sees severely people working on the servers, so without making a sound Spider-man then caught one guy with a web and pulled him into the vents as he webbed him to the roof of the vent.
"Ha, there cute when there oblivious" Spidey said with a chuckle
With that out of way and hopefully slowed them down a little he then made his way to the main computer in hopes to save any evidence. Once he saw the room he needed to be in, he then jumped down into the room startling the guards.
"Hey is this tech support? I forgot my password" Spidey quipped as the men charged at him
"Don't let him near the computer, take him out!" one guy shouted about to open fire
But thinking fast, Spider-Man then pulled down a grate on the ceiling that knocked a few guys out, leaving few for Spidey to deal with. So once he dealt with them, he then quickly ran to the computer and inserted a flash drive as to download the data.
"Now let's see how good their security is…oh you guys forgot the latest kernel patch, tsk-tsk" Spider-Man said as he got to business
"Hiding in the server room…cowardly even for you" a gruff voice said
Looking up at the screen, Spidey was met with the bald head of the one and only Willison Fisk AKA the Kingpin.
"Says the guy frantically erasing his search history" Spidey joked back which somewhat miffed the man
"After all these years, you're still just an ignorant child" Fisk said as Spidey just shrugged
"True, but it is part of my charm" Spidey added
While he was talking Spider-Man had finished the download just in time, before the Kingpin could notice.
'And with ten seconds to spare' Peter thought with a bit of pride
Seeing this, Fisk then frowned in displeasure at the sight he saw.
"Darn you…break down those doors now!" Fisk shouted into an intercom
Behind him Spidey then saw several more men coming at him, all with the intent to kill him…they could try. So without further ado Spider-Man was busy taking down the goons one by one with ease, honestly it was laughable how easy it was.
"Look around you…everything you see I have done, what have you done that has mattered?" Fisk said with the speakers
"Well, there was that time I took down a pompous, overstuffed crime lord before breakfast" Spidey retorted as he punched a man's lights out
"Without me, the scum I kept in check will run rampant and it will be all your fault" Fisk said with a bit of edge in his voice
Spider-Man didn't listen instead he merely webbed a gunman to the wall with his webbing, taking out the last guy on this floor.
"It's been a long tough road Willy, shame to see it end" Spidey said as he exited the server room
"Mere prelude" Fisk remarked
"Well then get ready for the main event" Spider-Man replied as made his way to the next floor
Suddenly an explosion went off, causing the glass ceiling to break and crumble to pieces. Seeing this, he then quickly webbed up to the next level while also dialing up Yuri.
"Yuri, I bomb went off and…" Spider-Man started to say until she cut him off
"I saw, Fisk probably has the place wired, I'm calling in a bomb squad" Yuri stated, just as Spidey spotted a few more guys
"I'll make sure nothing gets in their way" he replied as he ended the call
Quickly, Spidey took down the small grunts making sure that the upcoming bomb squad was safe when they arrived. Then a door smashed open, revealing the squad that Yuri talked about.
'Just in time too' Peter thought as he webbed up to them
"Hey guys, guess bombs are part of Willy's get away plan" Spider-Man joked as to lighten up the mood
Suddenly another explosion went off, causing a woman to scream in fear, catching Spider-Man's attention.
"There must be people still inside" Spidey said worried
"You go help them, we'll look for the bombs" one of the squad members said as they moved on
Quickly Spider-man then zipped to where the explosion came from, only to see a fiery mess and people running to the nearest exit.
"Everyone evacuate the building!" Spider-Man shouted into the crowd as he searched through the wreckage
"Help!" A woman screamed behind a pile of rubble
Spider-Man then pulled the wreckage out of the way with a tug from his web line, freeing the people behind it
"Thank you, but I think I heard more people back that way" a woman said pointing further into the blaze
"I'll find them, just go" Spidey said as he made his way further into the inferno
Deeper into the wreckage he then heard two civilians cries making him quicken his step. He then saw two people underneath some stone structures and was unable to move. He then quickly got underneath the pile of rocks and placed his hands on it.
"I'll lift and once it's off of you get out, if you can walk help the injured" Spider-Man instructed as they both nodded in response
Then with a deep breath, Spidey then lifted with all his strength as he lifted the rocks. Suddenly however another piles of debris feel down and stacked on him, making him lower it slightly, but persevering he then lifted the stone pile again which made a gap big enough for the people to get out of.
"Go, go!" Spidey shouted as the trapped civilians did just that
Once they were out of harm's way, Spider-Man gave one more push and lifted the rocks into the air before jumping out of the way of the collapsing rubble.
"Okay Willie, coming your way" Spidey said in a bit of an exhausted tone as he zipped to another vent and climbed in
Just then he then got a call from the police captain again.
"Spider-man, its Yuri" she said
"How are we looking captain?" Spidey asked, hoping for some good news
"Could be better, we just had to ground our last chopper, if Fisk calls in chopper we have no way of stopping him"
"And no way to chase him either"
"Why I do I get the feeling he planned this"
"Because he probably did" Spidey replied
Spider-man then saw another hatch just up ahead, which instantly dropped down from to the next floor. Once there he then saw many officers were hurt and some were unconscious, making him curse under his mask.
"Yuri, we need EMT's up her, fast!" Spidey said over his phone
"We're trying" She replied as Spidey zipped to the open room
Just then he saw a thug with a rocket launcher being pointed at him and fired.
"Incoming!" Spider-Man shouted as dodged out of the way of the rocket
He then zipped over to the thug and delivered a hard kick to the man's head, knocking him out. Soon after however, two more thugs walked up to balcony and fired at him, which again he dodged.
"More rockets' isn't that a bit extreme" Spidey quipped as he took out the other two thugs
Unfortunately after taking those two down, Spider-man then dodged another rocket from another thug from across the balcony.
"Geez, what is this national rocket day or something" Spidey joked as he zipped over and took the other guy out too
Once the thugs were cleared, Spidey then ripped the doors off to the next floor and made his way to the next floor. As made his way up and defeated a few stray thugs he then went to the next room, there he found the bomb squad and thankfully in one piece.
'These guys got here fast, but how did they get through all that rubble' Peter thought as walked up to them
"We were just about, to call for backup" one squad member said
"Guess I'm it" Spidey added as the other's parted to let him through
"Lead on, we'll be right behind you" the squad member said as Spidey walked forward
Unbeknownst to the wall crawler one the cops then reached for his radio.
"Head's up boss" the guy whispered
One of men then raised his rifle in order to strike down Spider-Man but before the man could pull the trigger the familiar tingle of Spidey's spider sense went off in his head, causing the hero to backflip over the squad while also snatching the gun out of the man's hands until flinging it at one of the men knocking him out.
'Okay, now it make sense how they got up here' Peter thought as he started taking down each fake cop
"So you guys were in bed with Fisk this whole time, aw man now I'm never going to get that image out of my head" Spidey said has he web threw a guy at the wall before webbing him to it
After taking down the rest of the squad he then proceeded to Fisk's office but not before calling Yuri.
"Hey Yuri, some of your guys were paid off by Willie but I think they were the last line of defense" Spidey said
"Okay, take him down, now" Yuri said making Peter glare at the door in front of him with a look of determination.
"With pleasure."
