Chapter 2
The Unexpected Ally
In the office of one Wilson Fisk, he sat behind his desk writing something down as if nothing was wrong. As he wrote however Spider-Man then zipped into the room and stuck to one of the pillars in his office.
"Writing your memoirs, don't forget the hyphen between Spider and Man" Spidey taunted, but it didn't seem to faze the giant man
Fisk then simply laid down his pen on his desk and pressed a button on his office phone.
"Get the chopper ready, I won't be long" Fisk said has he cracked his knuckles
The large crime boss then stood up and reached underneath his desk and extracted a suitcase, which confused the wall crawler.
"What's up with the case Willie, embarrassing baby photos?" Spidey quipped making the man snarl in response
"Just something that I invested a lot of money into and is none of your business" Fisk replied as he picked up a remote off his desk, "I'm surprised you made it this far, but your foolishness ends here" He said as he pressed a button on his remote
Then a glass pane then slid down, separating Spider-Man from the Kingpin, which again confused the hero.
"Um, I can still see you" Spider-Man said which the crime boss glower
"Eight years of this insolence" Fisk remarked
Suddenly, popping out of two pillars were two gun turrets and they were both pointed right at Spider-Man.
"Oh for me, you shouldn't have" Spidey quipped
Then the turrets then spun up and let lose a hail of bullets at the arachnid, but he simply dodged them. During which he then shot a web at each turret, halting the turrets movements thus making them stop firing at him.
"Here's a present for you!" Spidey shouted as he ripped one turret out of the pillar and threw at the glass, causing it to crack greatly
Not letting up, Spider-man then ripped the other turret out and threw at the glass causing it to shatter completely in a display of smoke and shards. However, out of the smoke came the same briefcase that Wilson had, flying through the air. It then landed on the ground with a thud; causing it to pop open and its contents came bouncing out as well although what it was inside was not what he was expecting. Spidey couldn't help but be surprised for on the floor was a large blue crystal, about as big as he's palm. It was shaped in a hexagon like shape and seemed to glow with a blue light.
'Huh, never took Willie as the jewelry type but it seems to radiate with some sort of energy…what is that?' Spidey thought looking at the strange crystal
Suddenly Spidey heard an angry shout from the once closed off room as Fisk came barreling out of the smoke. Once he saw the crystal on the ground as he then glared angrily at Spider-Man with daggers.
"Don't you dare lay a hand on that!" Fisk shouted with fury
"Okay I won't lay a hand on it…but you didn't say webs!" Spidey quipped
Quickly, Fisk tried to reach for the crystal but before he could even lay a finger on it, Spidey then shot a web at it, which attached and pulled it toward him, catching it in his open hand.
"You fool; you have no idea what's your doing!" Fisk yelled at the hero
"Ah, what's the matter Willie, mad I stole your pretty little rock" Spidey taunted with a chuckle
Suddenly he then felt a trembling in his hand, the same one that was holding the crystal. Looking at it, Spidey saw that crystal was now flashing slightly and seemed to be getting brighter until it was blinding for him. Spidey then dropped the crystal to cover his eyes even Fisk did too.
"What are you doing?!" Fisk shouted
"Don't ask me, this is your weird rock!" Spidey called back
Finally the flashes stopped, making Spidey able to see again but once he looked at where the crystal was, he was shocked to find something else entirely.
In the crystal's place was not a crystal but instead was a dark-skinned warrior woman with blue eyes, white back-length hair that glows light blue at the tips, and is tied into a ponytail by a head dress which resembles a tiara that reaches up to the back of her head, and is partially visible through her bangs that looked to be made of icicles. He body was tall, slim and has a curvy figure while also wearing a white and blue form-fitting short dress with four tail-like cloths flowing out the back, long white gloves which are covered by blue bracers decorated with gold rings, with matching thigh-high socks and armored leggings and from which gold rings loop around her shoulders.
The girl then blinked her eyes slightly as if she just woke up until looking straight ahead at Spidey with a stern expression.
"Greetings my Driver" the woman said in a very firm voice
Spidey then raised an eyebrow at this behind his mask, still confused by the woman's sudden appearance and now by what she called him.
"My name is Perun, your blade that will be by your side always" the now named Perun
Peter's head was filled with so many questions, who was this strange girl, what did she mean by driver and did she call herself a "blade". With so much in his head there was only one thing that he can say to her.
"…what?"
Suddenly a load roar bellowed out, snapping Spidey from his thoughts and turned back to the fat man in the room.
"You have ruined everything!" Fisk shouted
He then raised his fists into the air and brought them down on the table that was his desk, easily turning it into pieces of rubble. He then grabbed hold of the largest piece he had and threw at the two, making Spidey's lenses widen in surprise.
"Move!" Spidey shouted shoving Perun out of the way
Spider-man then shoot two web lines at the approaching hunk of rock, and threw it right back at the Kingpin causing him to stagger.
'Got an opening, better take it' Peter thought shooting a web at the large man until turning to the strange woman
"Uh, Perun was it? You may want to stand aside for this, I've got an evil marshmallow to wallop" Spidey said as he zipped to Fisk
Once Spider-Man was close enough, he then started to lay into Fisk with a flurry of punches and kicks, but suddenly Fisk then hit Spider-Man with a back hand which sent him flying into a nearby pillar. Fisk then charged at the hero, fists rose in order to smash him and once he brought them down…suddenly Perun then jumped in front of Spider-Man and raised her hands causing a golden barrier to appear and blocked the attack.
Spidey couldn't help but be amazed by what he saw, seeing this strange woman hold up against Fisk's strength.
"All you alright my Driver?" Perun asked which shook Spidey from his thoughts
"Uh, yeah" Spidey replied as Fisk slammed again at the barrier
"Good, now why is this man attacking us?" Perun asked
"Uh kind of long story but the short version, he's a crime boss name Wilson Fisk I'm trying to apprehend" Spidey replied as another hit came to the barrier
Slowly Perun looked between both Spider-Man and Fisk…until a small smile graced her face.
"I am grateful to have a driver like you" she said which confused Spidey
"Um, thanks?" Spider-Man replied
Then, just as the Kingpin was raising his fists again, Perun then dropped the barrier and delivered hard kick to his stomach area, sending the large man skidding across ground which surprised Spidey a bit because kicking around Fisk was certainly no easy feat.
"Hear this Fisk; your time is over for the innocents that you have oppressed!" Perun shouted with much vigor in her voice
She then held out her hand as if she was about to grab something, until suddenly a bright flash of light went off and out of thin air came a weapon. It was a white, gold, and blue three-pronged ornate spear with a grey handle with its three blades looking like ice shards.
"Woah! Where were you hiding that?!" Spidey exclaimed
"This is common for us Blades to summon our weapons like this, this should be common knowledge" Perun replied, which again, Spidey found odd
"It's doesn't matter what you two do, I will destroy you both!" Fisk shouted
"Keep telling yourself that Willie" Spider-Man called back as he swung at him, Perun following behind him
Now usually Spidey would allow someone he just meet to join in a dangerous fight…but considering that this woman was able to not only kick Kingpin halfway across the room but also summoned a giant spear and can form barriers of energy out of thin air…yeah she was defiantly not your typical damsel in distress. With that in mind, Spidey then shot a barrage of webs at the giant man, thus keeping his arms wrapped to his side, seeing this Perun then stepped in with a jab to his mid-section with the bunt end her spear until stabbing it into the ground and spun on it, kicking him the face as she did. Spidey then came in with a swing kick to his face sending the giant man off his feet until falling on his back with a loud thud.
Unfortunately the kingpin then broke free from his web bindings and charged at the two heroes, grabbing them and charging through a wall where they we're slammed against a pipe. Kingpin then raised his fist and brought it down towards Spider-Man but Perun then used the flat side of her spear to block the attack. Aggravated, Fisk then grabbed the both of them and threw them at the other wall and through it until landing in the room outside his office. Slowly Spider-Man then rose back to feet slowly, still reeling from the impact but Perun stood up with no problem as if she wasn't just thrown through a wall.
"You okay?" Spidey asked as she nodded in return
"I'm fine, we blades can heal from any injury I should be asking you that question" Perun said in turn
"I'm good, I've took harder hits then that" Spidey replied which made Perun let out a sigh of relief
Just then the Kingpin then came walking through the hole he made, still holding his scowl.
"You are everything that is wrong with this city!" he shouted as Spidey shrugged
"Funny, I was gonna say the same thing" Spidey quipped which did bring a small chuckle to Perun
"You know what to do men!" Fisk barked as several of his thugs came in to assist their boss
"Geez, I swear I take one down and ten more just pop right back up" Spidey said as he got ready to fight again
Perun then turned around, spear held tightly as she faced down with Fisk's men.
"Please my driver, allow me to take care of these thugs for you" Perun said
'Huh, so this what's it's like to have someone watching my back' Peter thought, actually thankful for the help
"Sure, go to town but for the record you can just call me Spider-Man" Spidey said which made the warrior lady cock an eyebrow in confusion
"That is not your real name is it?" she asked which he shook his head too
"No, but just call me that for now" he added which she nodded too
So with that established Spidey charged at the Kingpin while Perun faced down with the Kingpin's men.
"Prepare yourself for justice you heathens!" Perun shouted as Fisk's men just laughed
"Oh yeah, what you gonna do about it girly?" one thug said
Perun then twirled her spear in her hand until gripping it and swung it in a wide arc, creating a blast frigid wind which froze some of Fisk's men slightly in ice leaving there heads exposed.
"She's some sort of mutant, take her down!" one of men shouted as they charged
One man tried to punch her but Perun then blocked the attack with the flat side of her spear with ease until smacking him in the head with the flat end, knocking him out. Two more came at her next, making her slam her spear into the ground making a sheet of ice appear causing the men to slip and fall knocking them out.
"Surround her!" one of the men shouted as they did just that
But Perun then slammed the end of her spear in the ground and spun around on it with her foot out knocking each of them down.
With Spider-Man he was busy laying into Fisk, landing a solid punch to his face. Fisk then charged to grab the wall crawler but Spidey then back flipped away from the giant, landing a kick to the man's chin as he did. During this he couldn't help but take a quick look to Perun, who she saw had taken out most of Fisk's men and was trapping the stragglers in ice which surprised him yet again today.
'Wow, that girl is full of surprises' Peter thought
Unfortunately while he wasn't paying attention, Kingpin then gabbed and held him over his head until throwing him to the ground. He then raised his hands to crush Spider-Man's head until he moved at the last second, causing him to crack and break the glass floor below them. One the glass shattered both Spidey and Fisk fell through heading to the next floor as Perun looked down the hole at her driver.
"Spider-man!" Perun shouted to him with concern
"I'm fine, don't worry I'll take care of the rest!" Spidey shouted back and focused on Fisk
The large man then feel on the next floors glass floor as Spider-Man then shot two web lines and pulled forward, slamming his feet into the man's chest, bringing them to the next floor. There they landed on a bridge where Fisk threw Spidey off of but the arachnid hero then shot a web and swung to the window and stuck to it. He then jumped off of it and zipped at Kingpin and slammed his feet into the man causing them both to go free falling, during this Spider-Man then started to punch Kingpin in face over and over until landing one solid punch as they fell through the last floor to the bottom floor. Spidey then shot a web at the giant man catching him a cocoon and hanging from the ceiling as Spidey hanged as well.
"So…do we kiss now?" Spidey joked just as Perun jumped down to meet him and glare at the trapped Kingpin, "Yeah maybe not now" Spidey said as the cops came in and pointed at the now captured crime lord.
Once the officers had cut down Fisk and cuffed him they then lead the man to the waiting prisoner van that will take him to his new home at prison, all while trying to keep his composer. Then before he went into the vehicle Spidey then landed on top to say his last words to the Kingpin before he left, with Perun by his side.
"Finally off to Ryker's huh?" Spidey said in a mocking tone, "You know I think you have more enemies in their then I do" he joked which made the now ex crime lord growl
"You think that this will be nothing more than a minor inconvenience…" Fisk said until he was slightly hit in the back of the head with the butt of Perun's spear
"Seize your words criminal, face your punishment with what dignity you have left" Perun said stowing her weapon on her back
"I'd listen to the lady if I were you" Spidey quipped until shooting a web line, "Hop on" Spidey said
At bit confused by what he was saying, Perun then wrapped her arms around the hero's neck, giving him enough room so she wasn't chocking him.
"Good luck Willie, your gonna need it" Spidey said as he swung away, as Perun gave some squeals of shock as they rose into the air
"Idiot! I'm the one who kept order in this city!" Fisk shouted after the duo as he was shoved into the truck but not before letting out some final words, "One Month! In one month you wish you had me back!"
Then the door closed as the truck departed for Ryker's.

On the top of a rooftop, Spidey landed on the tip of a water tower as he let out a sigh of relief.
"The kingpin is off to Ryker's, end of an era, feel like I should celebrate or something you know take a vacation" Spidey said as he gazed over the city
"I take it he has been a long waited goal?" Perun asked which kind of spooked him a bit
"Sorry, I forgot you were there, yeah I've been trying to lock up Kingpin forever but now that chapter is closed" Spidey said as Perun let go of him
"You are one strange Driver but at least you have a good heart" Perun said with a smile
Hearing her call Spidey that again, brought some questions to his mind that he wanted answered now that things with Fisk are over.
"Yeah about that, why do you keep calling me that?" Spider-Man asked
"It's what we call those that have awakened us, seriously how can you not know this?" Perun asked now slightly annoyed but her driver's ignorance
"Give me a break I've never heard of a "Blade" until today" Spidey answered making her groan
"Titans foot, what are they teaching people these days?" Perun said pinching the bridge of her nose
"Uh, what's a titan?" Spidey asked
Hearing this Perun then widen her eyes in what looked like fear as she looked at Spider-Man as if he just grew a second head.
"You don't know… the World Tree?" she asked but Spidey shook his head
"Ether, the Cloud Sea, the Architect!?"
Again Spider-man shook his head now causing Perun to hyperventilate slightly, now dreading what she'll hear next…but she needed to ask, she needed to know.
"This is Alrest…isn't it?"
"Um, Perun…this is called, Earth."
