I don't own the characters of Adam-12 I am writing a 12-part series of stories based on Taylor Swift's Speak Now in honor of Taylor's Verison release. I will have a series list on Archive of our own. It will be in the description of the stories too.

Love,

DaniMason

Hey, this is me, again. I knew I would get a BUNCH of bad reviews for this story. The Adam-12 community is the fandom that keeps me on my toes. They will remind me of the rules and give well-deserved harsh reviews. And I knew that this wasn't my best work. I just wanted to put out all the stories in time to listen to Taylor Swift's Speak Now when it was released. I was going to fix it (at least for you guys), and you guys told me I needed to lol. So I am sorry for my crappy work and I have fixed it. I do recommend checking out my other better work. Though I will warn my Adam-12 people, I don't religiously follow the rules unlike my Adam-12 guys on

PS I just noticed an actual hateful review left by a guest. I don't care what your beliefs are, I don't think it is nice at all to criticize people who read stories with different sexualities than heterosexually. This hurts feelings without caring for the fact that they are human. Frankly, I do think that officers like Reed and Malloy would be utterly ashamed. If I can delete the comment, I really want to and I probably will. If I could DM them I would, I won't hate on them, I would just say I don't tolerate hate towards my fellow readers and fellow humans. And most of all, you are acting against God and Jesus, they want us to be kind and understanding to ALL people, regardless of sexualities, disabilities, religion, or anything really.

Jean and Jim missed their childhood and teenhood a lot. They had a blast with good parents and freedom. Jim and Jean especially enjoyed their time together. When they met it was magical. Jim was running in track, and Jean decided on a whim to attend the track meet, and when she saw him run with that look of pure concentration on his face, she knew she had to meet him.

She asked her friend Karen Long "What is the name of Runner 40?"

Karen said with a bit of teasing that could be seen in her smile "That is Jim Reed. I know him from Biogolgy. Want me to introduce you?"

"Yes please!"

So Karen walked down with Jean trailing behind her with a coy smile on her face. She did feel bashful, but she did want to at least go to the drive-in movies with him. When Karen made it to him, Jean's heart skipped a beat.

Karen said, "Hey, Jim! You did amazing! Jean also thought you did amazing!"

Jean chimed in, "Yes, you were amazing!"

Jim blushed and said, "Thank you."

Jim kept finding excuses to find Jean. He would carry her books and seek her out at lunch.

A few days later, Jim asked Jean for a date "Jean, will you go to the movies with me?"

"Yes!"

That was the start of their love story. Dates to the movies, walks home and of course, sharing a milkshake with two straws.

Their romance was not always easy, Jim wanted to be a police officer much to her distress, and she knew she wanted to be a mother and a teacher. They both argued a bit, mainly about Jim putting himself in danger. Jean did concede that she couldn't ever leave him or make him give up his dream. Her only rule was "Don't take unnecessary risks and do everything you can to come home to me." Jim followed his promise with all his heart. Though he did take some dumb risks, he fought to come home to Jean.

Jim promised Jean that he would support her dream of becoming a teacher. He thought it was swell that his wife loved children so much that she wanted to help shape their future, and he couldn't wait to see her graduate and be surrounded by gifts from her students. They had decided that Jim would be first because college takes time, and most of all, Jean wanted her husband to have the best chance of being an officer.

It was a serious conversation for teenagers, but they were completely committed to each other. They married a year after high school, and Jean and he wanted children or just a child would make them content. Their wedding was beautiful, she walked down in a simple white dress with a fabric white rose in the middle of her empire waist. She had a veil on and it was only over her hair. Jim wanted to deny it, but he had tears in his eyes when she walked up the aisle. It did bring her joy to see him so discomposed and happy to marry her so he never denied it.

They were married now, and Jim had started his job. Now they were waiting for their child. Inveabitly they did think of their mostly perfect childhood. With all their hearts they hoped to provide their little angel with the best childhood they could.

Before both of them knew it, Jean was delivering their child. and Pete was trying to get Jim to the hospital so he wouldn't get himself killed with his distracted mind. They made it, and when Jim was holding his baby son for the first time, he knew he would do anything to protect him and to always come home to him. They both knew that Pete Malloy was their most responsible friend, and Jim knew that he was a complete sucker for children.

They were correct. He was the one being the mother hen when Jimmy got chicken pox. Neither of them was worried, he was doing fine.

Sometimes when putting him to bed they would think, "Please never grow up."

They would play with him, go to the zoo, go to parks, and walks, Jimmy would ride his bike while Jim and Jean would together. So many family activities, visits from Uncle Pete, and mischief reigned the Reed's lives.

It was a warm summer evening, and they walking and riding respectively together. Jimmy suddenly sped off laughing maniacally. Jean yelled,

"James Reed, you come back here RIGHT NOW!"

He didn't listen, he had way too much sugar and did not recognize the danger he was in. Jim ran after him and got him

After that incident, they had a conversation about not running off from his parents. Pete thought it was super hilarious. Until it happened to him, he barely caught the three-year-old.

Now all of them were dropping Jimmy off for his first day of kindergarten, and he was so happy. They all remembered when school was fun, and the same phrase was passing through their heads. "Please never grow up."

Of course, he did grow up and lose his childhood innocence. That is the inevitable truth of life. They did learn to enjoy the years of him being older, even gasp him being an adult.
