What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation provided by Kazuma after a hectic time in Luganica turned frantic. Kazuma was suddenly arrested on account of accidentally blowing up a baron's house, thankfully with him not inside. However, Kazuma was still incarcerated, and was to be put on trial. Fortunately, Mythos Hearts protect their own. At this very moment, the guild journeys to Belzerg's first town of Axel to rescue their young member from prosecution…

"Alright, let's go over the checklist." Ultra said. "Character witnesses?"

"Check!" Catarina raised her hand.

"Eyewitness Accounts?"

"Check." DJ nodded.

"Evidence?"

"Check." Mirror Match answered.

"...Lawyer?"

"A very shaky check." Nemo pointed to Demiurge and Diablo.

"Then we have everything." the Pokémon Trainer confirmed. "We are ready for the court!"

"Still can't believe Kazuma got arrested for terrorism. I thought for sure he'd be arrested for something perverted." Theo said.

"That's what you'd think, but no such luck." Nemo said.

"Why did it take this long for the authorities to arrest him for the whole accident though?" Luz asked.

"Dunno, but we sure won't let him get maximum punishment. Let's get in there and save my adventurer!" Aqua declared.

"You just wanna save him cause if he can't beat the demon lord here, you're stuck in the mortal plain." Kumoko said.

"W-Well…don't act like you wouldn't for that reason!" Aqua argued.

"...She's right, you would." DJ acquiesced.

The group approached the jail, Ethox opening the door. "Kazuma, we're here to-!"

"You're free to go, Mr. Sato." the group saw Sena say as she was conversing with Kazuma. "I'll be coming by your residence later to discuss your community service."

"Thanks, chief." Kazuma nodded before he saw the group. "Guys, you came to rescue me!"

"Kazuma! But… we thought…" Ethox noted everyone coming uo.

"After you were arrested, we were all set to defend you in court. Darkness even told us that the guy accusing you, Baron Alderp, was gonna try and pay off the judge to convict you. But you got released? How?!" Subaru asked.

"Oh, yeah. Turns out I'm popular enough that somebody managed to convince the guy to back off. The fact that I'm an associate of the guys that took out Re-Estize and Falmuth didn't hurt either." Kazuma said. "I'm going to have to do community service for a day or two, but other than that, I'm home free!"

"...Sorry, guys." DJ said to Demiurge and Diablo. "Your sinister Phoenix Wright act'll have to wait another day."

"And here we were looking forward to this. But alas…" Demiurge said as he went and slapped Kazuma. "That is for wasting my time." he said before departing.

Diablo then approached and did the same. "Same reason, but for taking me away from my lord." he said before departing as well.

"...They're really starting to mellow out, huh?" Kazuma asked sarcastically as he rubbed his bruised cheek.

"So…should we just head back to the mansion, then?" Mirror Match proposed.

"Not yet. There's something we gotta do first." Kazuma answered.

"Here you are, Kazuma." Luna said as she handed him a stack of papers. "I have to say, I'm surprised you managed to get all these people to join your party."

"Oh, they're not official, really." Kazuma clarified. "I'm taking them on vacation."

"Since we destroyed the Mobile Fortress Destroyer, Kazumas joined Mythos Hearts, along with Aqua, Darkness and Megumin." Ethox explained to Luna.

"I see. Well, since they're registered to your party, you'll be responsible for any quests and costs they occur. I hope you understand that?"

"Clear as day. Don't worry, these guys are a bit more professional than…well, my normal party is." Kazuma said.

"Hey!" Aqua said incredulously.

"Well, if that's all you need for now, I'll see you when you take on your next quest." Luna said.

With that, Kazuma walked back over to the group, Michriu asked, looking over his Adventurer Card.

"Kazuma, what's this new skill you have here?" they asked, Kazuma taking the card back.

"Oh, this one? I meant to get it the first time I was here, but with how crazy things got near the tail end, I kinda forgot about it…until now!" Kazuma said. "Let's see…Emerald, can I use you as a demonstration for a sec? It shouldn't affect you too much."

"If you say so…" Emerald sighed as he stood next to Kazuma.

"Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present…Drain Touch!" Kazuma declared as he grabbed Emerald's arm, a purple glow appearing as though with a knack for sensing mana saw some of his stamina, vitality and strength flowing out of him and into Kazuma.

"Drain Touch? Isn't that an Undead Skill?" Rista asked.

"Yeah. A friend of mine, Wiz, owns a shop here in Axel, told me about it. Honestly, I wish I got it sooner. It really would've come in handy a few times." Kazuma admitted.

"Wiz? She's one of the commanders of the Devil King trying to take over this world, right?" Amity asked.

"Former commander. She's actually running a pretty honest magic shop around here." Ethox asked. "In fact…didn't we see another one of the Belzerg Demon King Commanders at Walpurgis?"

"Oh yeah! That weird guy with the monochrome mask. I think his name was Vanir." Theo said.

"Yeah, that's him! He said he quit the Devil King's service too. He said he had someplace fun for me to visit next time I was in Belzerg. Wonder what it was…?" Ethox said.

"Eh, we probably won't run into him." Grantz shrugged. "So, how's about we head back to this mansion we keep hearing about?"

"Me and my branch will go with you guys." Subaru said. "This vacation was meant for us after all."

"Yeah… I'm sorry I dragged everybody out here just so I could get slapped by two demons and not let you guys defend me." Kazuma said.

"If it's any consolation Kazuma, Amity, Catarina and I wanna come too." Luz said.

"Yeah, we could sure use a break. It's been nonstop work." Catarina said. "And I had the perfect character statement for that trial. Sure Kazuma may seem bad but he's a good guy deep down. He gives me long looks of friendship from across the table at lunch and doesn't even care about the nicknames he has like Kazutrash, Scumzuma or even Pantor the panty bandit." she said.

"Okay, I appreciate you saying I treat you nice Catarina, but what's with all the nicknames?! And who even calls me those?!" Kazuma asked.

"Well, the first two were Ram's ideas, but the last one was something I knew nothing about." Subaru said.

"That last one was a group effort." Amity said as she and a number of girls in the guild agreed.

"...I'm going to get all of you." Kazuma promised. "I don't know how, I don't know when, but I will have my revenge."

"You know a number of these girls can kill you in a few seconds, right?" Theo asked.

"Semantics!"

A little while later, the group was walking down the path that led to the mansion.

"Here it is, sweet home away from home." Kazuma said. "What do you think? Pretty cool, right?" he asked the Lugnica branch members.

"Master's mansion looks much better than this dump." Ram said.

"Can you say something nice for once?" Kazuma asked with a sigh. "Anyway, let me show you in…." he said, opening the door before finding the mansion completely bare of any furniture or anything. "What the…where'd all the furniture go?!"

"Uh… oh man." Luz said. "I forgot to say this, but Sena stopped me on the way to tell you that all the stuff you bought for your mansion was gonna be repossessed to cover the costs of Baron Alderp's place…"

Kazuma was silent as he took in the sight of the bare rooms, until…

"%*$(!%*(!^$*$^ *$!"

"...Uh…can anyone translate that?" Ethox asked.

"I believe he's cursing someone up to their…fifteenth or sixteenth ancestor?" Mirror Match guessed.

Kazuma's outburst ran his course before he slumped to the ground, a dead look in his eyes.

"Relax dude. It's just stuff. You can always make some cash to buy it all back." Subaru said.

"...Right. Right!" Kazuma said, regaining his composure. "We'll just do some quests! No problem. It'll be a fun outing."

"You really want to push this vacation angle, don't you?" Tanya asked.

"Yes! Cause this guy deserves one!" Kazuma said, pointing to Subaru. "But anyway, we can make this work. We'll just find an easy quest. That way, we won't be in too much danger if things go wrong."

"Right, sounds like a plan." Ethox nodded. "For now though…I guess we'll just have to make due with what we've got."

"Look on the bright side. It's like we're checking into an actual cheap motel. You're getting the authentic vacation experience!" Nemo joked.

"Kazuma, are you sure you aren't the one who needs a vacation?" Theo asked.

"...Something tells me I'll need one when this is over…" Kazuma said morosely as the group headed inside the mansion.

And so, the group's second adventure in this wonderful world begins not with a bang, but a whimper…
