Chapter One:

The Livestream Challenge

Meggy and SMG3 yelped as the dark goop with eerie symbols engulfed the floor and the walls, surrounding them, spreading out from SMG4 and that... strange glowing keyboard behind him. The computer keyboard looked so... different, why did it have a demonic appearance now?

The duo whimpered and gasped, trying to be careful of the strange stuff that was corrupting the room around them, and SMG4's face was not helping.

He'd lost it now, his eyes were not as human as they used to be and looked more red-shot than ever before, all because of his project and his obsession with it to a point where the old SMG4 seemed to be gone.

"It's gotta be perfect..." SMG4 said in a demonic monotone, "It's gotta be perfect, IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT..."

"Bro..." SMG3 said breathlessly, struggling to understand how this all could have happened...

Today was bright and sunny day in the Internet Graveyard and it had been nearly three years since that fateful day, three years since he'd become it's ruler, and it had been less than half a year since that crazy monkey was defeated.

And since then, SMG3 was back in business, running the realm as if nothing had changed aside from his appearance. Everyone recognized SMG3 after his return from the Mushroom Kingdom courtroom, they all knew who that bearded, red-eyed guy was with the purple and dark-purple overalls and those new dark boots.

And after he settled back in, SMG3 had changed the appearance of his statue to ensure it looked like his current look.

The former villain was in good spirits today as he activated his computer, turning on the camera with Egg Dog by his side. It was time for another live-stream, and it was not going to be like the last one where he did an endless live-stream challenge and had to talk to Mario and SMG4 for help. Oh man, that was stupid.

But this one, it was going to be quite special.

"Today!" SMG3 announced, "We're going to be streaming for twenty-four hours straight WHILE IN A BURNING BUILDING! And if I fail, well, I guess I'll burn along with the Starbucks... SO LET'S GET RIGHT TO THE THEMATICALLY-APPROPRIATE CONTENT!"

EggDog whimpered.

"Don't worry, boy." SMG3 assured as he prepared to get started, "The flames aren't real, it's all special hologram effects."

He pressed a button and authentic flames erupted all around the Starbucks where the Internet Graveyard's ruler was at, the flames covered the floor and the table. But luckily, they were holographic, even though SMG3 could feel the heat as he started up the game that he was about to play.

The stream was going, the camera was on him, and everything was ready to go. But, at the start, not that many people were following. And yet, all of that was about to change in a matter of minutes into the stream, and the game SMG3 picked was Team Fortress 2.

Just then, the phone rang with the ringtone being SMG4's voice. "Hey, it's me, the stupid idiot." The ringtone buzzed, "Please pick up, I am worthless..."

SMG3 answered the phone. "Yo, SMG4!" He said, "Ya tuning into my livestream?"

"Hey, man..." SMG4 said on the other end, he was at his computer in the Secret Slide Room at Peach's Castle in the Mushroom Kingdom and was watching SMG3's stream as it progressed, "I just called to offer some advice. Challenge livestreams are so a few years ago, do something more relevant like spinning for two hours."

"Nice opinion. But who gave you the talking stick and who asked?" SMG3 remarked sarcastically, "I'll tell you... NOBODY ASKED, DUDE! Now why don't you watch the King of the Dead Memes make a stream or mind your own business, ya blue loser."

He started laughing and SMG4 hung up.

"Nobody's gonna watch him anyway." SMG4 remarked to himself, he got off his computer and headed off to bed, especially since it was night unlike in the Internet Graveyard. Time flowed differently in both dimensions, depending on the time of day or night in the Mushroom Kingdom or the Internet Graveyard.

SMG4 hoped that SMG3's stream would be a bomb, but he was in for a rude awakening the next morning when he tuned into his former rival's stream and his eyes widened.

"HOW DID HIS LIVESTREAM VIEWER COUNT HIT THREE MILLION?!" The meme man exclaimed.

Filled with disbelief, he raced off to find the nearest portal to the Internet Graveyard and confront SMG3 about the matter. SMG4 was very famous and well-known for his videos, his style and his memes, but the fact SMG3 was potentially getting more popular was just absurd!

Meanwhile, in a dimly-lit room somewhere else, someone else was watching the livestream and eying SMG3 with a hint of delight as if they were eager to eventually meet him and get his autograph.

"Oh yes..." The mysterious man said, "This is the one I want to collaborate with..."
