Prologue: A Normal WED-nesday

It was another beautiful day in the Mushroom Kingdom. This was incredibly wonderful for one reason and one reason only, it was Mario and Peach's wedding. The feeling of excitement filled the kingdom as guests from all different worlds made their way to the castle for the royal wedding. Mario, Peach, and Luigi all made sure to reserve notable roles for the members of their teams. Link, Sonic, and Kirby were all groomsmen. Luigi had the honor of being Mario's best man. Due to the fact that Samus wouldn't fit in as a groomsman, she, along with Zelda, Amy, and Malon, shared the role of maid of honor. Luigi pulled some strings and even got Tails to play the piano and Knuckles to be an usher. Meta Knight surprisingly volunteered to be the officiant of the ceremony. Things were looking up for the plumber and his princess. All previous partners were sitting near the front of the ceremony hall. Other dimensional travelers came from all around to this event. The ceremony started not after long. Mario was wearing a nice tux and his traditional hat. He stood not far from Meta Knight, who had to stand on a stool to reach the microphone. Tails was playing a medley of familiar songs from everybody's worlds. First, Luigi and Zelda made their way down the aisle. Jerry got especially rowdy since he didn't have to see Luigi in a dress. Luigi and the other groomsmen wore tuxedos, while the bridesmaid wore sparkly dresses. Luigi and Zelda went to their respective sides of the altar.

"I'm a so happy for you, bro," whispered Luigi as he stood behind his brother. Mario smiled and nodded at his little brother. Next, Sonic and Amy made their way down the aisle.

"This sure does remind me of our wedding," smiled Amy.

"On any other day, I would argue that our wedding was a total sham, but I'll allow it today," chuckled Sonic. Sonic and Amy split ways at the altar. Sonic patted Mario on the shoulder as he went to stand behind Luigi. After that were Link and Samus. Link was trying to hold in his laughter as he walked beside Samus.

"What's so funny?" whispered Samus.

"Hopefully, Meta Knight doesn't have to stool for much longer," snickered Link. Samus slugged Link as they split ways at the altar. As Link stood behind the other men, he joked to Mario, "There's no way that Meta Knight can outdo the speech you gave at Zelda and I's wedding." Mario smiled back at Link. The ladies on the other side of Meta Knight heard what Link had said. Zelda blushed, Amy, cooed, and Samus rolled her eyes. Before the following people walked in, Tails started to play more traditional wedding music. In came Kirby, who was wearing a bowtie since he couldn't fit into a tux. Not only was Kirby a groomsman, but he was also the ring bearer. Kirby trotted down the aisle holding the ring pillow over his head. Meta Knight shook his head in disbelief to keep himself from laughing hysterically.

"You sure are lucky I fit the height requirement to be a ring bearer, Mario," announced Kirby. The hall erupted in laughter as Kirby stood by the side of the groomsmen. Even Mario had a bit of a chuckle from Kirby's joke. Second to last was Malon. She was a bridesmaid and also a flower girl. Mario looked over his shoulder and noticed Luigi blushing as Malon spread Fire Flower petals down the aisle. Once Malon arrived at the front of the aisle, she put the basket down and joined the other bridesmaids in their line. Tails' music had been leading towards Peach's entrance. Soon after Malon had reached her spot, Here Comes the Bride Started Playing. Every guest rose and turned toward the start of the aisle. There she was, Princess Peach in the most magnificent wedding gown anyone had ever seen. There were millions of details from everybody's world. She was holding a bouquet of Amy Roses. Mario's heart nearly stopped once he laid eyes on his darling. The smile on her face was precious and lit up the whole room. Peach made her way up the aisle and stood next to Mario. Meta Knight smiled at the couple from beneath his mask and pulled a piece of paper. All of the guests sat back down as Meta Knight began speaking into the microphone.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Mario Mario and Peach Toadstool in the bonds of holy matrimony," spoke Meta Knight, "Before I begin with the ceremony, there is something I have to clarify. If there are any certain turtle-like wedding crashers, I will ask if they will marry each other and be done with it." The crowd laughed as Knuckles nodded to Simon Velmont and King Deedeedee. "Alrighty then, let's begin," smiled Meta Knight. Peach handed her Bouquet to Zelda and held hands with Mario. Meta Knight started off the ceremony with the typical wedding formalities. Right before Mario and Peach gave their vows, Meta Knight gave a speech that rivaled Mario's back in Hyrule. Something about Meta Knight's voice captured everyone in the room. His speech was poetic and beautiful and showed how love cannot be destroyed no matter how intense the chaos is. Kirby was having a hard time not bursting into tears. After Meta Knight's tremendous invocation, were Mario and Peach vows. The couple turned towards each other and held each other's hands.

"Mario," Peach blushed, "There are millions of things I want to say to you. Thank you for always being there when I need a shoulder to cry on. Thank you for saving me. The day I met you, I truly experienced joy for the first time. The amount of happiness you bring me will always send my mind soaring. I love you." Mario blushed a deep red. The crowd was awed, Team Mario plus Luigi were utterly speechless, and the other girls were tearing up. Now it was Mario's turn. Everyone waited anxiously, mainly because Mario was usually very quiet.

"My dear Peach, from the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew that you were the one for me. Your beauty, kindness, and bravery have captured my heart, and I can't imagine my life without you. Every time I see you, my heart a goes wahoo. I will always be willing to do whatever it takes just to a see you smile. Just as the power of the Pure Hearts, my love for you will never fade," smiled Mario.

"I love you so much!" exclaimed Princess Peach. The hall erupted in cheering and crying. Even Meta Knight had to take a moment to collect his composure.

"That was beautiful," sobbed Luigi.

"He sure does know a thing or two about love," chuckled Link. The cheering lasted for a little longer before Meta Knight moved along with the ceremony. Kirby came forward and presented the rings.

"Peach, do you take Mario to be your lawfully wedded husband until your games are over?" asked Meta Knight.

"I do," nodded Peach enthusiastically.

"Mario, do you take Peach to be your lawfully wedded wife until your games are over?" questioned Meta Knight.

"I do," answered Mario with red still on his cheeks.

"By the power vested in me, by the PMA, I now pronounce you husband and wife," announced Meta Knight, "You may now kiss the bride!" Despite Mario being significantly shorter than his princess, he swept her off her feet and into his arms. Mario passionately kissed Peach, which was a spectacle for all the land. Cheering could be heard from all directions. That moment seemed to last forever. After their kiss was finished, Mario set down Peach, and the newlyweds swiftly made their way down the aisle. The reception was being held in Toad Town's Town Square. The groomsmen and bridesmaids quickly followed due to the sheer amount of people in the hall waiting to head to the reception. Knuckles, Tails, and Meta Knight had to stay behind to help manage crowd control. They had seats reserved for the reception, so they were happy to assist. As the newlyweds, bridesmaids, and groomsmen stepped out of the castle into the crisp evening air, they knew this would be a wonderful night. Toad Town Square wasn't too far away, so the group decided to slow down. As Luigi conversed with Malon, the others began discussing the ceremony.

"Those vows were amazing," smiled Zelda as she walked closer to Link.

"My heart was racing faster than me with Dashell and a fast flower," added Sonic.

"I was having trouble not wailing my eyes out," choked Amy.

"Eh," muttered Samus.

"I gotta say that Mario and Peach are the world's most perfect couple," Kirby was glared at by Link and Zelda, "Aside from Zelda and salad boy over there."

"Hey!" objected Link, "That was one time, and it was the joke you made!" The group laughed.

"I must thank you, guys, for coming," blushed Peach, "You all mean so much to Mario and me."

"Your welcome, Peach," grinned Zelda.

"I guess you form bonds quickly when you're stuck in a floating castle or on the moon," added Amy.

"I'm surprised that we didn't have any Koopa wedding crashers," grumbled Samus.

"We made sure to be extremely careful when sending out the invitations," explained Peach, "That's also why Knuckles, Simon, and Deedeedee were sitting near the windows."

"Woah!" gasped Kirby as the group walked into the square. It was a beautiful sight. Food was prepared by Tayce T. and Shimi. There was an ivory-colored dance floor. The lamp posts in the square were covered in pink and red paper, so the area had an incredible background tint. There was an empty D.J. booth that had fancy lights. Tails would act as D.J. as soon as they were done with dinner. Luigi and Malon were primarily responsible for planning the reception.

"Hey guys!" shouted Knuckles as he ran over the hill. He was being followed by Meta Knight and Tails.

"Are all the guests ready?" asked Peach.

"Yep," answered Tails.

"It was like herding cats," sighed Meta Knight.

"Alrighty then," laughed Link, "Let's get into position." Team Mario, Team ZAP, and Team Luigi all sat together at a long table. There were tons of other smaller tables for the visitors. Soon enough, the guests arrived. The gift table was filled in an instant. Many happy people were excited for a night of fun activities. Dinner was amazing. Shroom Steaks, which Link was very ecstatic about, a whole bunch of sides, and Peach Juice were all provided. Speeches to the bride and groom were full of emotion. Luigi gave a speech straight from the heart. Peach had tears of pure joy in her eyes as Mario went to hug his brother. Amy and Zelda also talked. There were tons of inside jokes in their speech that made Peach crack up. There were other speeches from the members of the teams, but nobody could beat Luigi's. After supper was time for the most anticipated part of the evening, dancing. Tails flew over to his D.J. booth and tapped the mic.

"I hope you're all having a good time tonight!" announced Tails. The crowd erupted into cheers. "Before anyone else can hit the dance floor, we must let the bride and groom have their first dance!" Mario and Peach rose from their seats and walked to the dance floor.

"Ah, Come on, man, I wanted to dance!" joked Kirby as he looked over at Lady Bow. The amount of passion in that square was immense and beautiful. The dark night sky was lit up with the colored lantern. Mario took Peach's hand once they stepped onto the dance floor. Tails pressed a button on his computer, which caused a song called Comet Observatory to begin playing. Mario and Peach grabbed each other tightly. The married couple began waltzing across the floor. At that moment, nothing else mattered to Mario and Peach. They felt as if they were in their own galaxy as they glided across the dance floor. The guests watched in awe as the couple's bodies moved in perfect sync with each other and the music.

"Where did they learn to dance like that?" asked an astounded Sonic.

"I have no idea," responded Knuckles, "But I can't stop watching them. As the music started to build to its climax, Mario spun his princess about halfway across the dance floor. Peach glided smoothly across the floor. Her dress twirled in a spectacular fashion. Eventually, she stopped spinning and looked dead straight at Mario. With her gown fluttering in the breeze, Princess Peach began running at Mario. In response, the groom took a stance. Peach jumped right before she reached Mario. He caught his wife above his head and began rotating while looking into Peach's eyes. They nodded at each other. Mario sat her back on the ground and twirled her away again. This time, almost like a boomerang, Peach returned while still spinning. Just as the song ended, Mario embraced his wife, dipped her, and kissed her passionately. The crowd applauded for what felt like the hundredth time that day. Mario and Peach pulled away from their kiss and bowed to their guests.

"What an amazing dance!" announced Tails, "Now it's time for all you partygoers to show us what you've got!" Tails hit another button on his computer. The music this time was upbeat and cheerful.

"Heck yeah!" Kirby screamed as he ran onto the dance floor. The rest of the night went on without a hitch. Everybody had a great time dancing the night away. Amy was delighted because she was able to dance with Sonic more than once. Time flew by, and soon enough, the guests started going home. It was around 11 when everybody, except for the people of the three teams, had left.

"This night has certainly been fun," chuckled Meta Knight.

"Yeah!" agreed Malon, "I had no idea that Samus could do the splits into a handstand."

"The Power Suit helps with my flexibility," added Samus.

"We all owe it to Mario and Peach for finally tying the knot," shouted Tails. Mario and Peach smiled brightly as the others thanked them for the wonderful night.

"Speaking of tying the knot," stated Knuckles, "How did Mario even propose?"

"That's thanks to us!" answered Luigi, Sonic, Kirby, and Link.

"Well, sort of," chuckled Link.

"Mario gave us a call a few weeks ago," explained Sonic, "He said he needed help with something, so the three of us teleported in a hurry."

"We arrived at Mario and Luigi's house to find them inside planning something," informed Kirby.

"Yeah, when they got there, Mario and I disguised the plan as a scavenger hunt," laughed Luigi.

"Luigi told us that we were going to play a goose chase prank on Princess Peach," snickered Link, "So we spent the rest of that day planning spots for us to lead Peach to."

"Turns out those spots were special places to Mario and Peach," sighed Sonic.

"So the next day rolls around, and we begin to execute the plan," told Kirby, "Luigi went to Peach's castle in the evening."

"I wasn't expecting anything at the moment," added Peach, "Even though I thought it was strange that my boyfriend's brother came to see me by himself."

"I told Peach that Mario had gotten stuck in a tree on Pleasant Path," giggled Luigi, "So I asked for her help. We went over to the path, but instead of Mario, we found Link."

"Link was standing in the exact spot where Mario and I had had our first picnic," smiled Peach.

"Peach was surprised to see that I had come for a visit," continued Link, "Luigi suddenly had to "leave," so it was just me and Peach on the path. I told her that I was returning from visiting Bombette and found Mario in the tree. I got him down. I then lie and say Mario went looking for Peach and that he said something about the castle balcony."

"So I'm waiting at the castle balcony," chuckled Sonic, " I was watching the sunset and laughing to myself about the goose chase we were putting Peach on. Soon enough, Elfonzo and the princess come onto the balcony."

"Hey!" shouted Link, "Did Goombario tell you that one?"

"Anyways," beamed Peach, "I guess the castle balcony is a special place to Mario and I because that's where we all had our first encounters with you guys."

"Link then left to go help Mario set up the big reveal," sighed Sonic, "Turns out the joke was really on the three of us. I then explain to Peach that Parakarry needed Mario's help with something. He hopped on the paratroopa's back and flew towards the post office."

"This is where I come in," snickered Kirby, "I was waiting by the post office holding a magnificent pink rose. Sonic and Peach walk into town and come to the post office. Peach asks what all the boys of Team Mario are doing in the Mushroom Kingdom simultaneously. I decided to play dumb and say I had no idea the group was in town. Sonic vanishes in a blue puff of smoke which frustrates Peach. She asked me where Mario was. I told her that Mario, after helping Parakarry, went home and wanted me to bring her there. I handed her the rose because I thought it matched her dress better than it did me."

"That pink rose was the same flower Mario brought me on our first date," blushed Peach.

"We walk over to the warp pipe that leads to Mario and Luigi's house," chuckled Kirby, "Once we popped out the other end, it was a sight to behold."
"Since it was night, we set up a path of candles that led to the backyard," added Sonic.

"Kirby came over to us, and we began trying not to laugh hysterically. The look on Peach's face was perplexed," continued Link.

"I walk over to the princess and tell her to follow the candles," smiled Luigi, "Then I had the other three guys follow me around the other side of the house. We peeked around the corner to see Mario standing in a ring of candles."
"A million thoughts were racing through my mind as I followed the path of candles," explained Peach, "I was worried that I had been pranked and that Mario wasn't even here. All my worries melted away as I turned the corner. There my mustachioed plumber was, standing in a ring of candles." Peach began to describe what happened that night, word for word.

"Hi, Peach," stammered Mario.

"There you are, Mario," smiled Peach, "I was beginning to worry that the guys were tricking me."

"Well, they kind of were," laughed Mario nervously.

"They were! I knew it!" exclaimed Peach.

"I had them trick you, but don't worry, it's all for a good reason," Mario explained as stuck his hands into his pockets.

"Huh," stated Peach, "Why?"

"Didn't those spots bring back such wonderful memories?" asked Mario.

"They really did," glimmered Peach.

"There has been something I've been meaning to ask you," gulped Mario.

"What is it, my love?" questioned Peach.

Mario pulled a small box out of his pocket and knelt down on one knee, "Peach, my darling, You mean the absolute world to me. I want to keep making memories with you for the rest of our lives. Princess Peach Toadstool, will you marry me?" Mario opened the box, revealing a beautiful diamond ring. Peach stepped back as she put a hand over her mouth. Tears began forming in her eyes.

"Wait, Whaaaaat?!" whisper screamed Kirby. Luigi silently chuckled.

"Did we just help Mario propose!" gasped Link.

"I didn't think this prank would escalate so fast!" screeched Sonic quietly.

"Mario, I love you more than anything. Of course, I'll marry you!" blushed Peach loudly. Mario ran over to his princess, putting the ring on her finger. The newly engaged couple embraced in a spectacular kiss. Link, Sonic, Kirby, and even Luigi began crying hysterically.

"Yep," laughed Luigi, "That's what happened!" Most of the remaining people were cleaning up while the six of them told the story.

"That's amazing!" cheered Knuckles.

"So that explains why you left Hyrule a few weeks ago," smiled Zelda as she was sweeping the dance floor.

"That is pretty sweet," stated Samus, "Why wasn't I invited? Am I not a part of Team Mario?"

"Sam, we love ya and everything," snickered Sonic, "But you probably would have taken the prank a bit too seriously and led Peach on a meaningless goose chase."

"True," replied Samus. The group continued conversing as they helped clean the square. While the yellow fox was cleaning the D.J. booth, Tails' watch started emitting a high-pitched frequency. That caused everybody to cover their ears.

"My ears!" screamed Amy, "Tails, what is your watch doing?"

"Someone from another dimension is trying to connect to my watch!" answered Tails.

"Tails? Tails come in!" called a familiar voice as the ringing stopped.

"Merlon?" asked Tails, "What do you need?"

"Are the teams of heroes all within close proximity to each other?" questioned Merlon. Tails looked up from his watch to see everybody staring at him.

"I guess so," responded Tails.

"Fantastic, I'll be there in a minute," informed Merlon. The watch hung up, leaving Tails and the rest of the group perplexed.

"Which Merlon is it?" asked Kirby.

"The one from Flipside," replied Tails.

"I wonder what he needs at this time of day," groaned Link.

"Perhaps he needs the legendary heroes to open his jar of pickles," joked Meta Knight.

"That does sound like something he would do," sighed Malon. The group waited in anticipation as a black square appeared in between them. Merlon of Flipside was suddenly in Toad Town Square.

"Greetings, everyone!" Merlon looked around and notice everyone's attire, "Was that today? I must have misread the initiation. Congratulations, you two."

"Thanks, Merlon," facepalmed Peach, "I must ask, what is so urgent that you had to come to the Mushroom Kingdom near midnight on Mario and I's wedding night?"

"Do you have a jar of pickles that needs opening?" laughed Luigi.

"Not this time," sighed Merlon, "There is an actually more pressing matter. Since we stopped the Chaos Heart, I've been studying different forms of power across the universe. I actually have become good friends with Eldstar."

"Eldstar!" gasped Link, "What does this have to do with your visit?"

"Well," paused Merlon, "He has told me that there have been strange tremors of energy near Shooting Star Summit. *Gulp* He sent me some of the energy, which is very similar to the energy emitted by the Chaos Heart."

"What!" shouted the group in unison.

"I was just as surprised. So that's why I need the four teams to go investigate."

"Do we have to go now!" complained Sonic, "We don't even have all of the teams here!"

"Yes, you have to go now. Just after the sunset, my communication with Star Haven stopped," informed Merlon, "Also, I did notice that Team BEG was not here. Allow me to fix that problem."

"I don't think that's a good idea," gulped Peach.

"Don't worry, princess, I have a solution to your worries about the dastardly team showing up on your wedding night," soothed Merlon. Merlon's body shook slightly as he began incanting some spell. Mario stood in front of his wife just in case something went wrong. Merlon stopped shaking, and three more black squares appeared. Soon enough, Bowser, Ganondorf, and Eggman were also in town. They were holding playing cards.

"Got any sevens?" asked Bowser, not noticing everybody else.

"I fold," grumbled Eggman.

"You can't fold when you're playing go fish!" yelled Bowser.

"I thought we were playing Black Jack!" screamed Ganondorf.

"You don't can't possibly have a hand of eight cards when you're playing Black Jack!" argued Bowser.

"Uhhh, guys," stammered Eggman as he noticed that they were not in Bowser's castle.

"What!" shouted Bowser and Ganondorf in unison.

"Take a look around you," peeped Eggman. Bowser and Ganondorf stopped arguing and looked around.

"Uhh," muttered Ganondorf, "Why are we surrounded by some of our worst enemies?"

"I have a better question," grumbled Bowser as he stood up, "Why is Peach in a wedding dress!" Bowser's face began steaming as the other two villains stood up as well.

"Who wants to tell him," sighed Sonic.

"I would like to, but I don't want to end up needing a side dish," choked Kirby.

"You really want to know, Bowser?" asked Link.

"Yes!" screamed the Koopa King. Link looked toward Mario and Peach, who nodded at him.

"Mario and Peach had their wedding today," informed Link as he held up his shield, "Please don't kill me." Bowser's face turned red in anger. He let out a ferocious scream. Everybody started running in order to avoid being torched.

"Ganon, Eggman, let's burn this place to the ground!" yelled Bowser. His two maniacal friends prepared to cause destruction, but Merlon stepped before the villains. Merlon snapped his fingers, which stopped the villains dead in their tracks.

"Why can't I use my magic?" asked Ganondorf.

"I cast an anti-power spell on the three of you. I also made it cause your body to stop moving momentarily," explained Merlon.

"I want to destroy Mario so badly, but my body won't let me," complained Bowser. The group inched their way back over to the dance floor.

"So they can't kill us?" peeped Luigi.

"They are completely immobilized," chuckled Merlon, "Now let me explain why I summoned you here." Merlon proceeded to tell Team BEG what he had said to the others earlier. While Merlon was explaining, Sonic ran to the castle and got everybody a change of clothes.

"Thanks, Sonic," smiled Peach, "I really did not want to investigate something having to do with Chaos Energy in my wedding dress." Once everybody had changed, Sonic took their wedding clothes back to the castle.

"It sure is a good thing that we packed extra clothes," laughed Amy, "I'm glad we all get to stay here for a few days anyway."

"Chaos energy!" shouted the villains in unison.

"I guess I'll have to put my murder plans on hold for a while," sighed Bowser. Merlon snapped his fingers again, which allowed the villains to move.

"You all go to the Summit," told Merlon, "There is something in town I must address first." The four teams began making their way to Shooting Star Summit. Mario and Peach held hands on the way, just to antagonize Bowser.

"I just hope that there's nothing too dire," gulped Tails.

"Don't jinx it!" gripped Knuckles.
