Let me make this very clear to all of you. I'm NOT lying when I write these sessions down. And YES, my family is quite abusive and toxic! And no, I'm not throwing myself a pity party.

I'm looking for love and support! I don't need to be told that what I say is fake or to live with it. So no, I'm not lying!

Ms. Kelsey felt slightly tired, for she hadn't slept well all week. She'd recently had a change in her medications. But instead of helping, they seemed to be having the opposite effect. She knew she'd have to talk about it soon. But for now, she had other things to discuss with Deanna as she strolled into the therapist's quarters. She first returned a fidget toy that was accidentally misplaced with her belongings the last time they met.

Deanna thanked her kindly for returning it, as she had been unable to determine what had become of it. She then asked if Ms. Kelsey had thought about what she suggested last week. Last week, Deanna suggested living in a group home instead of staying on the ship. However, Ms. Kelsey kindly explained she felt better having her own space and wanted to keep her cat.

So Deanna dropped the subject before asking about the rest of her week. Ms. Kelsey explained she'd been talking to a woman in Ten Forward yesterday. They had a small argument. Deanna asked her to elaborate on what the argument was about. Since it seemed to be meaningful to Ms. Kelsey. Taking a deep breath, the young woman explained how she felt insulted by what the woman had said.

She reminded Deanna that while she'd never personally met anyone in Ms. Kelsey's family, she had witnessed how badly her family mistreated her. She was also furious that this woman even dared suggest that she had to see a toxic individual POV. She again explained how controlling, abusive, and narcissistic her twin was and how she failed to take ownership of her mistakes.

She received the backlash of her twin's victims' anger when people yelled at her for her sister's actions. She nearly pulled her aquamarine hair out, saying she tried to get her sister to listen to her about improving her writing for YEARS. It was bad enough listening to her brag about a book that she couldn't accept that everyone who read it said the same thing. That it didn't make a lick of sense! She claimed she had her style, and Ms. Kelsey vented that her sister knew nothing of either style or what constitutes good writing.

She also hadn't liked how pushy her twin had been by insisting she signs a birthday card for their youngest nephew. Especially when she'd already informed her twin that their younger sister had told her to F off when she asked for a relationship with her nephews. Therefore, if her little sister made it that clear she didn't want her around her kids, then why did her damn twin insist that she sign that birthday card? Ms. Kelsey then again explained her horrible excuse for a vacation last year to Deanna.

How her godmother had done nothing but nitpick and criticize her. She hadn't made her feel welcome and even openly admitted to reading her journal! Then when she got home, her godmother sent her an F you letter. She also told Deanna she'd permanently gone no contact with her father when he weaseled his way out of paying her mother what she was rightfully owed out of their divorce settlement. She also hated that they said she lied when she tried telling other people about her suffering or to suck it up. She hated more people who would rather believe abuse had to be fake instead of accepting just because something, like it hadn't happened to them, didn't make it any less true.

As usual, they ended the session by looking at the drawings Ms. Kelsey had done in her new sketchbook before the appointment. Deanna again praised her for her talent. Ms. Kelsey smiled before saying goodbye. She would have a quick lunch when she returned to her quarters before taking a nap. She wondered if she would skip lunch and go straight to napping as she was dead on her feet. She wondered what she and her therapist would talk about next week. Well, she'd have a whole week to find out.
