Senji woke up with a start, enduring yet another nightmare. She checked her phone, and it was early. A little too early, but she still got up and set about getting ready for the day. She got dressed and washed her face in her bathroom, shaking her hair into place. Her bandages had come loose in the night, the scales retracting while she slept, so she redid that and slid into her uniform. Buttons were a little challenging with her hands in their current state, so she gave up and opted for an open shirt. That would definitely get some flack from the teachers and staff, but she was too tired to worry about it now. During breakfast, a few more students commented on her hair and how exhausted she looked. Once she finished eating she hung out by the windows until it was time to go to class. She was lost in thought while someone shuffled up beside her and stared out at the rising sun.

"Hey."

Senji jumped, but managed not to squeal this time. She chided the boy next to her quietly, but went silent when she realized it was Bakugo. He had spoken in an uncharacteristically soft tone, and didn't even look her way when she addressed him back.

"You should at least answer texts," he grumbled. Senji was puzzled for a moment, which he noted. "Mom's worried, and said something about work."

"Oh, um. [Okay.]," Senji wasn't sure, or ready, to give a proper response to that yet. So she took time on the walk to class to think it over. She barely heard the teachers explain the day's activities in class. She shook those worries away when it was time to change, and this time moved with the other girls to get changed.

"Senji?"

Jiro addressed her with concern, or maybe it was confusion? Senji realized why after a moment, and explained that she'd be doing more normal hero training with the others from now on. She got dressed quickly, and the other girls were excited to see her hero outfit. It was a skintight bodysuit with a wide open back, allowing her wings to pop out. She made sure to form the feathery wings quickly. A hood and scarf combo sat loosely on her shoulders, patterned purple with gold web-like designs. A pair of pleated shorts in the same pattern covered her hips, and she had chunky sneaker-like shoes that were white and purple. A long sleeve covered her arms, up to the forearm, with big white gloves with a purple band on the wrist.

In the gym, they were given further explanation on the task of developing Ultimate Hero Moves. They all set to work, some struggling more than others and focusing on enhancing their quirks. Bakugo was going through too many of Ectoplasm's clones, so she was assigned to spar with him off and on. Both students had a range of things they could do with their quirks, so it was a decent way to practice new moves.

Senji started with aerial more regular sparring, and flying around to get behing Bakugo or avoid his blasts. She whipped through the air quickly, Bakugo doing the same with his explosions. She flew up high, then spun around with a makeshift bat aime right at his head. He unleashed his Stun Grenade burst, the light blindingly bright. Senji's vision flashed red, but she still was able to get behind him and smack him into the ground. She dropped straight down, abandoning the wings, and pinned him. Her arm gave way though, and Bakugo noticed how the scales shifted and spilled away for just a moment. With his hand pinned behind him, despite it being covered in scales, he fired off another blast.

"Hey! Don't be a sore loser!," Senji snapped at him. She was knocked back by the blast, and coughed in the huge smoke cloud it had made. That's when she noticed her arm and quickly pulled it back together. Did he notice, too?

"Shut it! I thought you were bad with bright lights," he growled back.

"I mean, yeah. But I've gotta have a way around that, too," she gave him an honest reply, while the teachers scolded them for going overboard.

They worked over the next four days, with Bakugo developing a new style of attack: the AP Shot. It was effective even against her tough scales. The rest of the class kept getting distracted by their fights, impressed by both of their firepower. Senji especially, since she had never been in the combat-oriented classes. The rest of the class had assumed she'd be weaker in a fight, but were proven sorely wrong. She made some adjustments to her costume along the way as well, taking some tips from Todoroki's outfit design and adopting similarly styled cuffs to help keep her temperature down. Senji moved between sparring partners, too. Practicing with Uraraka and finally Izuku after he settled on a leg-focused style.

Just before the exam, the girls were relaxing in the common area after dinner. Mina kept trying to drive the conversation in one direction, while Jiro and Yaoyorozu talked with Senji on the side.

"Man, I thought you would be bad at fighting, but you can even keep up with Bakugo!," Jiro offered a lot of praise, obviously pumped up from watching their matches. Senji's cheeks brightened a bit at the sudden recognition.

"Oh, yeah. You two seem to hang out a lot, too," Mina jumped in, finished for now with teasing Uraraka.

"Huh," Senji gave her a dirty look, not pleased with her implied meaning. She deflected for a while, but got irritated and left the group to go to her room. She wasn't actually taking the exam, so she didn't need to be that well rested. Eraser was sure to throw a fit if she fell asleep in the stands, though.
