OPENING THEME:

Episode 26:

FOR ONE AND ALL: THE REASON WHY WE FIGHT

With a fierce yell, Berrie's aura surged and she dashed forward with a powerful punch but Piccolo did not even flinch. Easing off, she came in with a flurry of fast-paced attacks but the result was the same. With a smirk, Piccolo released an uppercut that forced her to fall at the feet of the other saiyans.

Frowning, she quickly recovered and darted towards the sky. Soon, her silhouette disappeared amongst the clouds and it might have seemed as though she was trying to escape. However, seconds later she was crashing down like a torpedo aimed directly at Piccolo. A strong gush of wind was emitted and the two opponents were lost behind the thick mass as a large crater formed beneath them.

Using his hand as aid to block the incoming debris, Hendo could not help but to growl in frustration when the winds finally settled. Berrie was clearly drained, each breath she took resulted in a harsh crescendo.

"This is an absolute waste of my time - I'm out of here!" Hendo proclaimed. In awesome speed, a golden trail of light was left behind where he once stood.

"Oh my!"

The other saiyans were alerted by a loud shriek and they eyed Yu-Natto with questioning glares as she ran towards the fighters. Piccolo's eyes widened when he realised what had just happened. Yu-Natto held him by the ankle and lifted him with ease, swinging him from side to side as though he were a meaningless object. She was busily brushing through the dirt with her free hand and kept on mumbling to herself.

"Eee!" she wailed excitedly as she made a grab for something she spotted and thus threw Piccolo to one side. He landed on his head, wearing a confused look as he watched the woman's next move.

Yu-natto was lovingly caressing a long, brown tail as she rubbed it against her face, "Oh my! Oh my! You're still beautiful even when we're apart!"

She raised the tail and showed it off to the others, "Hey, guys - you think infirmary could still attach this back on? I mean, it still looks alive, right?"

Seemingly in response, the tail wiggled spontaneously. Yu-Natto could not believe her eyes and she had to blink several times to finally accept that what she saw was indeed real.

"Yeah!" she yelled, jumping up and down, "Hey, Hendo - wait for me!" And with that she dashed off.

Throughout the entire display, Berrie had been eyeing Yu-Natto with a vicious frown on her face. Finally, she returned her attention back to Piccolo who was already standing, having recovered from the throw.

"I can't believe that idiot made me realise something," she shared as she finally settled into a more relaxed pose, her breathing back to normal, "You're hiding power - like the Mezorans do to avoid a complete drain of their energy. No normal person should have survived that crash even from a looney like her, even if it was done without any motivation whatsoever. So how strong are you really? And most importantly, what really is your business here on Mezora, Namekian?"

"I'll tell you that when I've finished kicking your a..." Piccolo declared but he was interrupted by a powerful fist that sent him flying back. He looked up in awe at the golden length of the girl's hair. She had transformed effortlessly to a super saiyan 3.

"As you were saying," she spat.

Piccolo growled as he tried to get to his feet but she continued to plummet him with blows too quick to follow. Eventually, he finally found his rhythm in the battle and managed to dish out well-served and well-timed hits. At one point, he achieved the upperhand and it seemed like victory was in his favour until Berrie's aura surged once more.

In complete rage, the pupils of her eyes seemingly disappeared. Lightning oozed off of her aura as it ripped away into the earth, striking deep crevices wherever they land. Wide-eyed, Piccolo could not believe the power he was sensing but he hardly had any time to avoid the incoming blows.

"Berrie, no!" yelled Tomaro as he ran forward but he was held back by a female warrior.

"You will suffer for the loss of my tail, you worthless scum," Berrie yelled as she grabbed Piccolo by the neck, "The essence of a saiyan's true strength - gone because of you! Now suffer!"

An intense earthhquake resulted and the band of saiyans hovered over to one side to avoid the sudden slippage of a huge chunk of the dirt as it fell to depths unknown. Sparks of light shone at the tips of her eyeballs and in an awesome display, a massive trail of energy was emitted and it consumed Piccolo.

"Berrie, calm down," Tomaro cried out as he tried to push past the female warrior pinning him in place but it was in vain.

"Hurry up and kill the freak, Berrie," the female warrior yelled.

"What!" Tomaro asked in shock as he looked up at the woman, "But - but, he - he saved Ringo's life..."

The woman kneed him in the stomach to which he fell over and she finished off the sentence for him, "And he took the right of killing the Great Ruler all to himself - just when we had him. Your weak heart sickens me! I've never understood saiyans like you! You even show him mercy after finding out about the atrocity he has done to us by ridding us of our tails! Just because you never even had one!"

"But..." he whimpered.

"You've always sickened me," a male warrior spoke up as he charged a powerful blast aimed directly at Tomaro.

"Yeah - go ahead. Do it!" Tomaro said and added menacingly, "You pure-breds sure are a sadistic lot, aren't you!"

Cancelling the blast, the male warrior instead threw a hefty punch that connected with such force that it sent Tomaro skidding to a halt some feet away in awesome speed. He was about to go after him but he was stopped by a desperate yell.

"Enough!" another female warrior bellowed at the top of her lungs, "Can't you see we have trouble on our hands here? She's a damn killing machine when she lets loose - if I were you, I'd shut up and figure out a way to calm her down or risk her wiping out at least half of the Mezorans. With the King out of the way - all that power could be ours now. But it won't be if she wipes them out."

"Good idea, mother!" the man agreed and was making his way towards Berrie with a new blast in tow. He cleverly manoeuvred his way around the maze of the electirc sparks that escaped off of her aura. Wearing a wicked grin, he was about ready to release the blast but the unthinkable happened.

Without warning, a newcomer dealt Berrie a mighty fist and the two were reduced to nothing but white streaks against the purple sunlight as they darted back and forth.

"Who the hell is that?" asked the male warrior, trying desperately to follow the fight.

The stench of his burnt skin sickened him but Piccolo was determined to get back up. His aching bones and bloodied body failed several times as he attempted to regain his footing. Easing in and out of unconsciousness, Piccolo grabbed hold onto the dirt in a desperate effort. Finally, he was able to steady himself on all fours as he looked up to survey the fight.

'I can't even track their movements...that can't be Vegeta, can it? But even in his base, he's surpassed them by miles. Or would he? I thought I calculated a rough estimate of their maximum potential but clearly, these saiyans are hiding a helluva lot more power than I suspected. If the rest of 'em have this kind of power, I'm done for, for sure.'

Berrie and the newcomer were exchanging impressive blows but what wasn't blocked was dodged effortlessly.

"What the hell, Zakura! I had him!" Berrie shrieked.

Ignoring the girl's tantrum, Zakura reappeared behind her and edged an open hand strike into the back of her neck, "Ha! I'm faster than you!"

With a swift arm, Berrie caught hold of Zakura's tail and pulled her forward into her waiting elbows, "And I'm smarter than you. Now stop interfering - at least you still have your tail."

"Hmph. Lost your charm, huh, girly," Zakura teased but continued in a commanding yet menacing tone, "As I stated before, I am the closest to achieving a new level - with or without the King."

Berrie growled, "I never asked for this postion, Zakura!"

"The plan was simple - train and push beyond my limits so the King will choose me as his wife and through that I will gain more power to overthrow him - but you swayed him with your beauty."

"I had just come of age!" yelled Berrie, "The last thing on my mind was canoodling with the King!"

"Well, you've fooled me," she said in a sarcastiic tone and in a daring move, she grabbed hold of the diamond necklace around Berrie's neck and ripped it off of her and threw it aside, "He dolls you up like if you're his wife. I never had such before I was tossed aside - and yet you do not get him to marry you! Maybe if you did - through you I could work out my plans but you refuse!"

"The King has no interest in marriage - nor do I," Berrie reassured.

"This isn't about your honour, little girl, this is for all saiyans. We wouldn't have had to wait for a day like this to come. And on top of it - his son has come on board - with even more tricks up his sleeve! Your whiny ways may have cost us another 24 years in slavery."

"If I don't allow myself to be the perfect mate - I stand to lose my parents and be mercilessly tortured. You know the deal, you know for yourself what he did to you."

Zakura growled and her aura surged for a brief moment, lightning oozing off of her essence, "Really? I never heard of one torturing a doll!"

The two dissipated into a swirl of white and in blinding speed pursued the fight with more intensity than before. Looking on, Piccolo finally received confirmation, 'That power level! That's definitely him - it really is Vegeta out there! Toying around with his soldiers just for kicks. Damn him! I'm sure to be next.'

In the mist of the battle, the two women made several landfalls that uprooted giant storms of debris.

"Now's my chance at escape," Piccolo realised. It was a struggle to stand upright but once he achieved the small feat he made off, hoping against hope that none of the other saiyans would catch sight of his departure.

Zakura and Berrie were digging into each other's throats and a power struggle ensued. That was until a voice startled them.

"Hm. Is this what the saiyan race has been reduced to? A squabble over such drama!" the mocking tone proclaimed.

The two women immediately released their fighting stances and settled into respectful bows.

"B-But..." Zakura started, the fear evident in her voice, "Your sire - what you overheard, it..."

"Silence!" Vegeta said in a commanding tone, "And do get up."

They obeyed but it was obvious that they were scared of his next move like naughty children before an angry parent.

"I wish for the two of you to follow and witness what I have in store for the Great Ruler," he shared and made a landing.

The women followed suit but were shocked to see the crowd of saiyans but more so when they noticed the Great Ruler in Poompa's arms.

"That - no! It can't be - that bastard should be dead!" bellowed Berrie as an image of the Great Ruler being pierced by an extended arm passed before her eyes. That was the last time that she saw him and now there he stood seemingly alive; severely fatigued but alive nonetheless.

Realising the situation, Zakura studied the Great Ruler for a moment before turning her attention to Vegeta, "You're even stronger that he is, aren't you!"

"Indeed," Vegeta gleefully responded, wearing a proud smirk.
