Resurgence of the Crystal

Chapter 8: Friend or Foe

AN: Here's Chapter 8! A little more action in this chapter, so I hope you all enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars or anything affiliated with it.

Now, on with the chapter!

The three Jedi activated their lightsabers and deflected the blaster bolts fired by the Death Watch, who halted their charge by remaining in the air with their jetpacks, seeming to understand that it wouldn't be wise to fight up close.

"We need to close the distance," Rafe said, deflecting another blaster bolt. Despite not training much to deflect blaster fire, he felt like he knew exactly when each shot would be fired, giving him enough time to deflect or avoid it. "We're never going to get out of here if we just stand here and let those bastards use us as target practice."

"For once, you actually have a good plan," Arakan said. He rolled into a somersault to avoid a barrage of blaster bolts, then glanced at the cave behind him.

"Should we seek refuge in there?" Yuki asked.

Arakan's gaze shifted to the damaged Mandalorian helmet on the ground. Even though he wasn't looking at the Death Watch he was still able to effortlessly dodge every single blaster bolt that was fired in his direction.

"Any time, Arakan!" Rafe said, getting in front of Arakan to defend him from blaster fire. "What the hell do we do?!"

"We follow your plan, Rafe," the dark-cloaked Jedi said. "I have no doubt that there are other Mandalorians in that cave. I have no idea if they're a part of Death Watch or not, but I don't want to have to come to that conclusion. Our only goal is to get out of here, and the only way we can do that is by fighting the Death Watch, up close and personal."

Rafe looked back up at the Death Watch. "Okay. There's six of them and three of us. My abilities with the Force are still shit, so I'm best to be used as defensive support with my lightsaber. Yuki, you'll back me up and we'll provide cover for Arakan to take them out. Understood?"

"Understood," she nodded.

Arakan was just looking at Rafe with a surprised expression. "I'll be damned… You're actually acting like a leader and not a whiny brat."

Shut up was what Rafe wanted to say, but he knew that now was not the time to start a petty argument. They had to get out of the firefight they were currently in. He's been in shootouts before, but now was different. Now he had two allies he had to protect. And he didn't want to ignore the only amount of praise Arakan gave him, no matter how small it was. "Let's go."

At Rafe's order, he and Yuki charged toward the airborne Death Watch, deflecting and redirecting blaster fire as they ran. Scaling the cliff was difficult when they had to avoid blaster fire in the process.

"Rafe, this way!" Yuki called to him, pointing to a way up the cliff so they wouldn't have to climb or use the Force to jump, making them completely exposed to getting shot.

He started following her, but a thermal detonating grenade landed between them.

"Rafe, run!"

Instead of listening to Yuki, Rafe used the Force to launch the grenade at the Death Watch, who were sent crashing into the ground when it detonated.

"Now take cover!" he ordered, then proceeded to run toward the cliff alongside Yuki. Both Jedi hid under the rocks that jutted out from above.

"Why didn't we just attack them when they were knocked down?" Yuki asked.

"It wasn't the right time. It's not wise to approach an enemy when both of you are blind to your environment. We can't risk getting ambushed."

Suddenly, a barrage of blaster fire reigned down on them, but they didn't get hit by the cover they were provided from the cliff.

"So what do we do now? Should we separate?"

Rafe shook his head. "No. We need to stay together. If we separate, the Death Watch will too, and that will make Arakan's job much more difficult."

A large chunk of rubble fell from above them, and they covered each other with their arms, both groaning as they were hit.

"Hey, Rafe, how about instead of trying to get up to them, we bring them down to us?" Yuki suggested.

Rafe looked at her curiously. "What do you have in mind?"

"Just stay beside me." She then bolted out from the cover of the cliff, deflecting blaster fire from behind. "Rafe, cover me!" she called over her shoulder.

Rafe got in front of her and covered her from blaster fire, trying his best to redirect as many shots back onto the Death Watch in an effort to take them out, but he knew it was futile. Their armor was too sturdy to be pierced by blaster fire.

Yuki suddenly jumped in the air, twisted her body horizontally from the cliff, and started spinning, then threw her lightsaber, using the Force to guide it toward the cliff. The now severed section of the cliff collapsed, and the Death Watch fell with it.

However, they managed to recover by using their jetpacks to fly back into the air.

"Dank Farrik. We're just back to square one," Rafe cursed through gritted teeth.

Yuki had her arm extended in front of her, using the Force to pull her lightsaber back to her, but before it could reach her, it was shot, and it flew to her right side, far out of her reach. "We need to fall back!"

"To where?!"

"Anywhere but here! We can't stay exposed like this!"

"Remember the test we had with the clones?" Rafe asked, then continued when Yuki answered him with a nod. "We need to coordinate our attacks together in order to get in close."

"But I don't have a lightsaber," Yuki pointed out. "How am I supposed to defend myself?"

"You Jedi are so damn reliant on that thing. But I'll provide you with cover so you can retrieve it. It'd be pointless to charge at six armed shooters without a weapon."

Yuki nodded, then followed Rafe as he made his way to the cliff, deflecting every blaster bolt that came their way.

Yuki rolled to her side and grabbed her lightsaber, then darted toward the cliff while deflecting blaster fire alongside Rafe.

They finally managed to make their way up the cliff, but the Death Watch still remained in the air, making them unable to get in close to them.

"Softy, give me a push."

Yuki looked confused at Rafe's request, then nodded her understanding. When Rafe started running, she used the Force to launch him into the air at the Death Watch, who directed all of their fire onto him.

Rafe deflected as many shots as he could, then landed on one of the Death Watch's jetpacks. He jumped off of him, sending the Mandalorian to the ground, then used the hilt of his lightsaber to knock another one's blaster out of their hands, catching it. He then launched his boot into the Mandalorian's neck, one of the few places that didn't have armor, sending him crashing into the ground as well. As he fell to the ground, he fired at the other four Death Watch members while deflecting their shots with his lightsaber.

The Death Watch suddenly flew toward the descending Rafe, firing the missiles from their jetpacks at him.

Rafe widened his eyes. Fuck! I'm dead if I try to deflect this. What the hell do I do?

Out of nowhere, the missiles changed their projection back onto the Death Watch who fired them, causing them to fly to the ground to avoid getting blown up. The missiles collided with each other, exploding.

Arakan landed in front of Rafe, dark cloak whipping behind him from the night cold winds, which was illuminated by the green lightsaber he held at his side. He glanced down at Rafe. "Are you okay, boy?"

Rafe could only nod.

Arakan suddenly appeared behind the two Death Watch members Rafe sent flying into the ground, incapacitating them with a kick to their necks. He then slowly approached the other two who were on the ground, their blasters aimed at him. They fired, but Arakan just lazily leaned to the side, avoiding the attack. He then used the Force to pull the blasters out from their grips, cutting them with one, swift stroke of his green blade.

Both of them were visibly shaking in fear, but still charged at Arakan, seeming to mask their fear with screams of determination. But it was futile. Arakan used the Force to throw them into the rocks behind them, knocking them unconscious.

Arakan looked up at the other two Mandalorians who were still in the air, then jumped in the air until he was nearly at the same height as them, and used the Force to pull one of them to the ground. He looked up to take care of the second one, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Where'd the other one go? Rafe started darting his eyes in every direction, trying to find the last of the Death Watch, but he couldn't find him. Shit. This isn't good. We can't let anyone get away. He got to his feet and started searching for the last of the Death Watch, but Arakan held a hand out behind him, stopping Rafe.

"Stay there, Rafe," he instructed. "I'll take care of this. Just stay with Yuki."

Rafe nodded, then regrouped with Yuki.

"Now," Arakan said, narrowed eyes still fixated on the Mandalorian in front of him, "what do you want with Duchess Satine?"

"I'm not telling you anything," the Mandalorian spat. "Now go back to serving your pathetic Republic."

Arakan brought his lightsaber down to the Mandalorians arm. "I suggest you rethink your answer." When he got no response, he stomped on the Mandalorian's vambrace. "What do you want with the Duchess?" he demanded.

"Stop!"

Everyone turned their attention to the last member of the Death Watch, who was holding a young boy with blonde, bushy hair and eyebrows, round and expressive blue eyes, who was wearing a dark brown short-sleeved tunic over a black, long-sleeved shirt along with similar colored trousers and boots.

"One more move and I blow this kid's head off!" the Mandalorian threatened, pointing his blaster at the boy's temple.

Arakan held a hand up, taking a step back. "Let the kid go."

The Mandalorian jammed his blaster further into the boy's head. "Drop your weapon."

Arakan did so, then kicked it aside.

The Mandalorian then pointed his blaster at Arakan. "Now come with us."

Before Arakan could take a step, a dagger embedded itself into the Mandalorian's neck. He cried out from the pain, then went silent when he hit the ground, laying lifeless in a pool of his own blood.

Another dagger flew into the other Mandalorian's neck, instantly killing him.

From the shadows, a relatively short girl with shoulder-length, messy, flaming red hair, narrowed, amber eyes, who was wearing a chest-length brown hooded cloak over a short-sleeved brownish red tunic and a long-sleeved black shirt with ash grey trousers and dark brown boots appeared.

There was something in her expression Rafe couldn't quite place. She just killed two people so casually, as if it didn't bother her. She didn't even flinch when blood sprayed all over her after retrieving her daggers from the two lifeless bodies. She acted as if she were a feral beast hunting its prey.

"Who are you?" Arakan asked.

In response, she grabbed the boy and ran.

"What now?" Rafe asked. "Do we go after them?"

Arakan nodded. "Although they may not be a part of Death Watch, they can still be a threat. They weren't on this moon by accident."

"She killed them…" Yuki said, shaking in shock.

"Which makes her dangerous. Who knows what her true intentions are? We need to catch up to them."

Yuki just kept shaking, her eyes glued to the dead members of Death Watch.

Arakan knelt in front of Yuki, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Yuki, I know it's hard. They didn't need to die. But that girl clearly didn't give a damn about their lives. Now we need to catch up to them before she can take any more lives. This mission is about more than just the Death Watch now."

Yuki swallowed, seemingly burying the terror she was feeling, then nodded.

"Let's get going."

The three Jedi entered the canyon, but Rafe suddenly stopped, seeming to confuse both Arakan and Yuki.

"What are you doing, boy?" Arakan asked. "Weren't you the one who suggested we go after them?"

"If they went this way, they'd just get trapped in the rubble," Rafe pointed out.

"All the more reason to go after them."

"No, they didn't go this way. They probably sought refuge elsewhere."

"The cave," Arakan muttered.

"There are people in that cave!" Yuki said fearfully. "What if she kills them too?!"

"Then we better stop her before she does."

They turned around and made their way to the cave below.

The cave was very spacious, but as they walked further into it, it became narrow, with several different paths intersecting with each other all within the cliff. It was like the cave was one big maze.

"What is this place?" Yuki asked.

"A hideout," Rafe responded. "And whoever's in here don't want to be found."

Yuki looked around all of the different paths. "How do we know which way to look? They could've gone anywhere in here."

Arakan closed his eyes and remained still. After a few seconds, he opened them, looking directly ahead of them. "We need to get to the heart of the cave," he said.

Rafe looked at the wall blocking their path. "And how are we going to do that?"

"I know the way. Follow me."

They then began making their way through the maze inside the cave. It was like there was nothing but rock and sand inside.

What's so valuable that they need this maze to hide? Rafe internally sighed. He knew Arakan knew where he was going since they seemed to be getting deeper into the cave.

They eventually reached the center of the cave, but were then suddenly surrounded by several Mandalorians, way more than the Death Watch. Each of them was protected with different colored armor; some red, some blue, and some green.

Arakan raised his hands, then glanced at his apprentices, silently ordering them to do the same.

The Mandalorians stepped back, clearing a path for the single Mandalorian that approached the Jedi.

"What brings you Jedi to our covert?" she asked.

"We aren't here for you," Arakan reassured them. "We're searching for two kids around their age." He jerked his head toward Rafe and Yuki. "Have you seen them?"

"What would you do with them if I were to tell you 'yes'?"

"So you do know where they went," Rafe said, almost accusingly.

"I said no such thing, boy," the Mandalorian said sternly. "I have not seen the ones you are seeking."

"Very well." Arakan turned on his heel and started leaving, but stopped when all of the Mandalorians aimed their blasters at him.

"I'm sorry," the female Mandalorian in the center said. "You now know of our location, and we can't allow you to leave with that information."

Arakan turned around slowly. "Are you hiding from the Death Watch?"

Audible gasps could be heard through each of the Mandalorian's helmets.

"I'll take that as a 'yes'," Rafe muttered.

"Shut up," Arakan hissed.

"We are not affiliated with Death Watch," the female Mandalorian said. "The Death Watch was originally a cult of Mandalorians who wanted to resurrect the ancient Way of the Mandalore, but just became war-craving terrorists. We hold no part in this war of yours, or with whatever Death Watch is planning."

"Do you know what Death Watch is planning?"

"Only as much as you do, I suspect. Pre Vizsla's only goal is to overrule Duchess Satine and become the new ruler of Mandalore."

"If you're not with them, then why stay so close to them?" Rafe asked. "That's a pretty big risk."

"To know what they're planning," the Mandalorian explained. "Some of us Foundlings broke away from the Death Watch, which is why our covert is here on Concordia. We don't follow their ways. We merely want to protect our own."

"So did the Death Watch kill one of your own?"

The Mandalorian looked surprised even through her helmet. "Come again?"

"Outside your covert, there was a silver Mandalorian helmet that was damaged and covered in blood," Rafe clarified. "Did the Death Watch do that?"

"Bring it to me," the Mandalorian instructed.

The three Jedi turned around to leave the covert, but the Mandalorian stopped them.

"Only one of you go, the other two can stay."

Arakan glanced at his two apprentices, then slowly nodded. It was like he didn't want to go alone. No—more like he didn't want to leave Rafe and Yuki alone with potential threats. He then left them alone.

"So, did you guys kill the Death Watch who were hunting you, or did you just escape?" a Mandalorian wearing red armor asked.

"What does it matter to you?" Rafe asked coolly.

"It matters because they could've followed you here," another Mandalorian wearing green armor clarified.

"Only two of them are dead, but the other four are unconscious."

"Tch. You guys aren't killers," another Mandalorian wearing blue armor scoffed. "I can see it in your eyes."

"You don't know anything about me," Rafe said, glaring. "And I doubt you've killed anyone before."

"It's as you just said," the green-armored Mandalorian said, "you don't know anything about us."

There was a tense silence around them as Rafe and the three Mandalorians stared each other down. Rafe was sure he could take those three on by himself, but then he'd have to fight his way out of all the other Mandalorians, and he knew he couldn't take on that many opponents.

A damaged helmet was suddenly thrown between them, breaking the silence.

"That's the helmet," Arakan said from behind Rafe. "Do you recognize it?"

"That belonged to one of the Foundlings," the Mandalorian in the center said. "It was to be his helmet, certifying him as a true Mandalorian, but, the ritual was interrupted."

"How so?"

"We got news that the Death Watch were heading our way. What happened after, I'm not entirely sure…"

Rafe narrowed his eyes. He wasn't entirely convinced. From what he's heard about Mandalorians, they prided themselves for their honor and loyalty, but so far, no Mandalorian had shown such qualities. He had a speculation of what the truth was, but couldn't tell for sure.

"You said you were aware of the Death Watch," Arakan said.

The Mandalorian nodded. "We were."

"There was a boy outside who was taken hostage by the Death Watch. He was short with blonde hair and blue eyes."

The Mandalorian perked her head up, while several other Mandalorians lowered theirs. Rafe knew for sure now what the cause of that damaged helmet was.

"He was a Foundling," she said. "The one who didn't get to finish the ritual. Where is he now?"

"That's what we want to find out," Arakan said, his tone much more hostile.

"Wait, we're not actually going to work with the Jedi, are we?" the Mandalorian in red armor asked in shock.

The leader looked at him slowly. "We both have a common goal: stop Death Watch and get our Foundling back. They're not our enemy at the moment."

The Mandalorian grunted, but otherwise didn't speak further.

"By the way, what's this Foundlings name?" Arakan asked.

The leader looked at him, uttering only one word.

"Ekram."

Ekram has been running nonstop for what seemed like hours. He felt like if he stopped for just a second, he would collapse. He's never run so fast or so far in his life. A scrawny kid like him could never run so far.

But he couldn't stop running because he was literally being dragged along by the girl who saved him from the Death Watch. He was slightly taller than her, but he could tell she was much stronger than him. She didn't even seem to be tired despite how much sweat was dripping down her face.

"You said a little girl killed them?"

The girl skidded to a halt, causing Ekram to bump his head into her back. She shot him a cold glare, then shoved him inside a small crevice, holding a hand over his mouth to muffle the sounds of terror that escaped.

"That's what the boys said. I don't buy it, though. Since when do girls have the guts to kill?"

"I wouldn't underestimate her. It's clear we have more enemies who are after us." The Mandalorian looked up at the night sky. "Wonder if they've killed the Duchess yet."

"We'll know when we can finally get off of this junkyard."

The Mandalorians walked away, and the girl slowly stepped out of the crevice.

"Follow me." Her voice was as cold as the glare she still held on her face. She ran in the opposite direction, followed by Ekram.

They stopped running when they ran into a forest. Ekram didn't know Concordia had forests. The entire moon was just one giant minefield.

He collapsed onto the ground, leaning against a tree. "That was exhausting…"

The girl was collecting wood and stacking it on the ground, completely ignoring Ekram. She grabbed a rock and one of her daggers and struck them together, lighting a fire.

"Hey, thank you for saving me," Ekram said.

The girl nodded.

What was up with her? She just came out of nowhere and saved Ekram's life, then took him with her, only to ignore him. Why would she even save someone as pathetic as me? We don't even know each other.

He recalled how miserable his life's been. No one's ever been kind to him or ever thought he was worth saving. And now this girl comes out of nowhere and saves him.

"Come with me," she said, breaking Ekram out of his thoughts. She started walking deeper into the forest, dagger in her right hand.

Ekram followed her, but a part of him wanted to run away. He had a sick feeling that she was going to kill someone else, then remembered the fire she just started, assuming that she was just going to go hunt.

Still, he didn't know why he bothered to stay with her. He didn't even know her, yet he was essentially clinging to her for survival. What is it that she sees in me?

The hand she held out stopped Ekram from walking any further. Off in the distance was a bat-like creature up in the trees. The girl held her gaze for a few seconds, then in a blur, threw her dagger at it. The dagger plunged into the creature's eye, instantly killing it. It fell to the ground, and she picked it up and brought it back to the fire.

"That was some impressive hunting back there," Ekram complimented. "Who taught you how to do that?"

She just continued to clean the blood off of her dagger.

"My name's Ekram, by the way." He held a hand out in greeting.

The girl looked at it with a confused expression, as if she didn't know what to do.

"You're supposed to shake it," Ekram chuckled. He took the girl's hand and clasped it with his already outstretched hand, shaking it firmly. "It's a sign of respect."

"I'm Ember," she said, sounding as embarrassed as she looked.

Ekram blinked, a bit surprised. "Ember? That's a pretty unique name." He looked closer at her flaming red hair and amber eyes. "I think it suits you perfectly."

"Tch. Just eat."

Ekram began digging into the creature she killed, smiling in delight when the perfectly cooked meat flooded his tastebuds. "This is delicious! Thank you so much, Ember!"

She was just looking at him, then looked away at her own food.

"Ember, why did you save me from the Death Watch?" Ekram decided to ask. He didn't want to stay with her without knowing at least that.

"Honestly, I don't even know," she said. "I guess I just… didn't want an innocent person like you to die…" She was now looking at the fire, which illuminated both her hair and eyes into a richer shade of red. "I can get you out of here, but you don't have to stay with me."

Ekram perked his head up. "Can I stay with you?"

She perked her head up as well. "You shouldn't be around someone like me. You can still live a good life."

"What's that supposed to mean? You're a good person—at least to me. You saved my life. That's the kindest thing anyone's ever done for me." He smiled. "Thank you, Ember."

She looked completely shocked, as if no one has ever thanked her before. "What makes you think I'm a good person? We barely know each other." Despite how dismissive her last statement was, her eyes seemed to be begging for an answer.

"Honestly, I don't see much value in labeling people as good or bad," Ekram said. "It's completely subjective. I only see you as a good person because you saved my life. You were good for me. So, in a way, I'm dehumanizing you by labeling you as a good person."

Ember just continued to stare at Ekram, but her expression wasn't readable. "So if I don't let you stay with me, you'll just see me as a bad person. Isn't that right?"

Ekram bowed his head in shame. "Yes. It's just human nature, though."

Ember lowered her gaze to the fire. "How did the Death Watch even capture you?"

Ekram bowed his head even lower. "I was just out on my own, and they captured me, then used me as a hostage," he explained. "I was too weak to do anything." He glanced at Ember. "You're very strong, Ember."

She looked at the dagger she was still holding and gripped it so tightly her hand started shaking. "It's not enough to just be strong."

"What do you mean?" Ekram asked.

"As long as he's still eating, drinking, and shitting, no amount of strength will ever be enough!" Ember suddenly shouted.

"Who are you talking about?"

Ember let out a fiery breath. "Nobody important."

"You seem to really hate this person."

"I said it's nobody important!" Ember snarled. She got up from where she was sitting and stomped toward Ekram. "If you don't keep your shitty mouth shut, I'll throw you back to the Death Watch."

"Then you'll be a bad person in my eyes," Ekram threatened back.

"I don't give a damn what you think of me. Don't think you can beat me with your petty words. I'll slit your throat before you can even open your mouth." Ember pointed her dagger at Ekram to back her threat up.

Ekram held his hands up, surrendering. "All right, I won't question you any further. Sorry, Ember."

"Shut up."

"What? Did I say something wrong?"

"No! Shh!" Ember shushed him.

Ekram just looked up at her. Just moments ago she was threatening to kill him, and now she was protecting him yet again. He whipped his head around when he heard something rustling in the bushes behind them, but he saw no one. He looked back at Ember, who was looking in the exact spot he was with narrowed eyes. "Ember, there's nobody there."

"Put out the fire."

"But—"

"Do it!" she said frantically.

Ekram threw some sand in the fire, then stomped out the remaining cinders.

"Follow me." Ember led Ekram deeper into the forest, but as he suspected, nobody was in sight.

Why are we just standing here? Is she leading me into a trap? Ekram wouldn't be surprised if she was just manipulating him the whole time. He knew deception when he saw it.

Suddenly, a knife flew between them, hitting a tree. They looked behind them to see the same three Jedi from earlier.

"Finally," the short boy wearing dark grey robes said. "It took forever to find you little shits."

"It's not wise to light a fire in enemy territory," the tall, dark-robed Jedi said.

"Dank Farrik," Ember cursed. "What do you want with us anyway?"

"Answers."

"We have no answers for you," Ekram spoke up.

The tall Jedi eyed Ekram curiously. "You might want to reconsider what you just said." He activated a green lightsaber.

"Master, wait!" the girl with bluish-black hair said warningly, holding a hand out.

"Oi, Arakan, I know you need answers, but we got what we came for." It was the shorter boy who spoke up. "Let's just take the blonde brat and go."

Ekram could only look between Ember and the two short Jedi. They all barely knew him, yet they were all trying to save his life. Why? Why are they going so far just to keep me safe?

"Information is vital on missions," the tall Jedi said.

"Fuck off," Ember spat. "We have no information for you."

The Jedi pointed his green blade at Ember. "Then explain why you killed two members of Death Watch?"

"Leave her alone!" Ekram said. "She saved my life! She did nothing wrong!"

"She meaninglessly killed two people."

Ekram gasped. He felt like all of the air was sucked out of his lungs. The Jedi just said that his life was meaningless.

"You would've killed them after you were done torturing them," Ember said accusingly. "Don't try to put yourself above me just because you're a Jedi."

"You're right," the Jedi said. "So why don't you make things easy so that I don't have to torture you."

Ember just defiantly glared at the Jedi, her hand snaking around her dagger.

"We know nothing about the Death Watch, really," Ekram said.

"Just shut up," Ember whispered in his ear.

The tall Jedi eyed them, a knowing look in his grim, green eyes. "On the contrary, I'm sure you do."

Both Ekram and Ember continued to stare up at him.

"Isn't that right…? Ekram."

To be continued

AN: Well, I hope I was able to make this chapter a little more interesting. I've been waiting so long to introduce Ekram and Ember, and now they're finally here. I hope I made their introduction appropriate to the overall story. And I hope the ending of the chapter was good. I'm not very good at ending scenes or chapters, so I would appreciate some feedback in the reviews from you all.

(Spoilers for The Mandalorian below! Stop reading if you haven't yet seen it.)

And I'm not sure when exactly the Children of the Watch were created, but from what I've seen of The Mandalorian series, Din Djarin was taken in by members of Death Watch during the Clone Wars, so I presumed that they existed during that time.

Ekram and Ember are like deuteragonists of the story, but mostly Ember, because of all of the development she receives throughout the story along with Rafe. So she will be appearing a lot more often.

I hope you all like the new characters I introduced, and I hope to see you all in the next and final chapter of this little arc.
