Emerald Trials part 2.
Jaune and Pyrrha ran through the forest. Jumping over tree roots and rocks blocking their path. The Aura covering Jaune's body invigorated him, making him feel much more refreshed than before.
It was… different from the Force. The Force let him feel the Living Force in all living things, excluding Grimm, but his Aura only came from himself. It was unique and individual.
He ambiently played with his Aura as they ran, controlling it as if it was the Force. It flowed over his body, but that was it. Jaune was… disappointed, slightly.
They came to a stop at a cave. Jaune noticed the primitive drawings carved into the rock outside.
"Is this where we're supposed to go?" Pyrrha asked, thinking aloud.
One drawing depicted a large insectoid terrorizing a group of humans. The second showed a large bipedal creature that stood over a pile of humans, with a hole in its chest.
"Let me check." Jaune answered Pyrrha's question.
Extending out with his hand, he reached with the Force. Expanding senses so he could feel Pyrrha next to him, the trees around him, and the lack of life in the Grimm that was inside the cave.
"We shouldn't go in there. I can sense Grimm inside," Jaune said, backing away from the cave entrance.
"Besides, I can hear other people coming from that direction," Jaune said as he pointed away from the cave. Pyrrha nodded, and the two set off again.
"You can sense Grimm? That is certainly a useful semblance," Pyrrha spoke as she walked alongside Jaune.
"Something like that, yeah." Jaune responded, vaulting himself over a large tree that had fallen. Pyrrha did the same.
The two walked further into the forest. They both stopped when they heard rustling in the tall vegetation. Jaune took his sword out and stood in a defensive position, Pyrrha held Miló in one hand and Akoúo̱ in the other.
She noticed Jaune's stance and questioned it. She had fought combatants that used a similar weapon before, but had never seen it held like that before. The defense it would provide was minimal.
Pyrrha's attention was drawn back to what was in front of her, as the rustling began getting louder.
Suddenly, a young woman burst out from the vegetation. She had orange hair, wore pink gloves and some sort of battle skirt. Holding her weapon and having it aimed forward. But after seeing Jaune and Pyrrha, she relaxed and rested her weapon against her shoulder. Pyrrha and Jaune sheathed their respective weapons.
"Hey guys! See Renny! I told you I heard something!" The girl said, yelling behind her. Another person bursted forward from the vegetation.
"Nora… please don't run off like that again…" The boy said, leaning over and gasping for breath. He wore a dark green long-sleeved coat, and white pants. He had long dark black hair, with a singular pink stripe running down it. He looked up and saw Jaune and Pyrrha, and stood straight.
"Ah, I believe introductions are in order. I am Lie Ren," Ren said extending his hand. Pyrrha shook it since she was closest.
"My name is Pyrrha Nikos." Pyrrha said.
"And I'm Nora!" Nora said, zipping towards Jaune. She grabbed his hand and shook it vigorously.
"Jaune. Jaune Arc," Jaune said, flexing his hand when Nora let it go. He smiled at her energy.
"We're looking for the relics, can I assume the same for you two?" Jaune asked, and Ren nodded.
"Yeahhhh, we kinda got lost killing Grimm, so I just started following noises," Nora admitted sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Well North is that way, so-" Jaune stopped talking as more bushes rustled. The four of them brought their weapons forward, but Jaune got an idea.
A Ursa slowly walked out of the bushes, growling at the group of humans. Jaune walked forward and extended a hand, reaching out with the Force.
He felt the Grimm and the emptiness it was. Using the Force, Jaune gripped its mind.
"I am your ally," Jaune said, waving his hand. The Grimm stopped moving, the Force altering its mind and thought process.
It grumbled, scratching its head in confusion, but didn't attack the four. Jaune lowered his weapon as the rest stared in confusion.
"Jaune… how did you do that?" Pyrrha asked, slightly bewildered.
"I tricked its mind into thinking we're allies. It should be safe now, but be careful-" Jaune wasn't able to finish again as Nora interrupted him.
"A friendly Grimm?! Sweet!" Nora shouted, jumping onto the Grimm's back. She kicked it's side, and the Grimm shot off into the forest.
"-it could wear off at any time… great." Jaune finished, watching Nora ride off.
…
It slumbered.
It felt the Force touch its body, and it awoke. The large Grimm sat up, having not felt the touch of a Force sensitive in so long.
It stood, the rocks that had covered the large Grimm slid off and fell onto the ground. The core within its chest whirled and released a soft blue glow.
It lumbered past the dead Deathstalker. It killed the other Grimm so it could rest inside the cavern.
The large Grimm gripped a lever, and pulled it.
On the surface, the hill where the cave mouth was began rising out of the ground. Revealing a structure underneath, an entrance to long forgotten ruins. The entrance was guarded by two statues of robed figures. Each carrying a long thin blade.
The Grimm roared once it saw light, and charged. It felt the strength return to its body, and it ran right out of the entrance.
…
Nora burst through the trees and onto a more flat terrain. The Ursa stopped moving, and plowed its head into the ground flinging Nora off of its back.
"Aww, it's broken," Nora said.
"Nora… please… don't do that again," Ren said, once again panting and leaning over to rest on his knees.
"Jeez… I'm sorry Ren," Jaune said, similarly out of breath.
"Oh hey, I know those two." Jaune pointed forward, where he saw Yang and Blake standing next to each other.
"You do?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yeah, I met Blake… yesterday after Ruby exploded. Yang is Ruby's sister." Jaune explained.
"Blew up?"
"Long story."
"Ooh Ren look!" Nora said, running forward to grab an item that looked like a large game piece. "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!"
Jaune and Pyrrha walked up to the ruins, they were greeted by Yang.
"Hey Lady-killer, you bagged yourself a four time champion. Nice." She said, elbowing Jaune in the chest playfully.
'Lady-killer?' Jaune thought, confused on what Yang meant. "Thanks Yang." He walked over to grab a piece.
" I guess we'll take the… castle?" 'I know Ren and Nora took one.' Jaune grabbed the relic, and turned it over in his hand to examine it.
"That works for me," Pyrrha said, as Jaune attached the piece to his belt.
"Hey Jaune, have you seen Ruby? I thought I saw her earlier, but it turned out to be an Ursa." Yang asked.
"I haven't no, but I'm sure she's fine," Jaune said.
…
"I'M GOING TO SUE YOU!" Weiss shrieked, riding the back of a Nevermore, holding on for dear life. Ruby ignored her and looked around aimlessly as she searched for the Temple in the forest below.
"THERE!" Over the Wind, she said, "I THINK I SEE THE TEMPLE! WE HAVE TO JUMP!", Ruby said.
"JUMP ARE YOU INSANE?! WE'RE THOUSANDS OF MILES IN THE AIR, YOUR AURA WONT, and you've already leapt." She fixed her gaze on the empty space before the tiny red dot descended to the ground.
"Oh my gods…" Weiss groaned.
…
"Hey, did you guys hear that?" Blake questioned, and the group looked around.
"There!" Pyrrha yelled, pointing upwards. The group looked up, and saw Ruby rapidly approaching the ground.
"I got her!" Jaune called out. He ran forward, and reached with the Force. Ruby was falling fast.
He caught her with the Force, slowing her momentum as she approached the ground. Ruby slowed and slowed, until she was floating one foot off the ground.
"Oof!" Ruby said, falling flat onto the ground when Jaune let her go.
"Hey sis," Yang said, walking up to Ruby. Ruby pushed herself off the ground and stood to her feet.
"Hey Yang, when did you-ow!" Ruby said as Yang slapped the back of her head lightly.
"C'mon Ruby, think before you leap! If Jaune hadn't caught you with his semblance, you would've been a pancake! By the way, thanks Jaune!" Yang yelled, turning to wave behind her.
"You're welcome!" Jaune replied.
"So, where's your partner?" Yang asked.
"She's umm… uhhh…" Ruby said, looking around her before looking up. Seeing the Deathstalker she and Weiss had flown on.
"HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME?!" Weiss yelled over the wind.
'…That's a big Grimm.' Jaune thought. "Is she going to be alright?"
"Pssh, she'll be fine." Ruby said, waving off Jaune's concern.
"She's falling," Blake said.
"Oh no… I got you! I got you! I got you! I got you!" Ruby yelled, dashing forward to catch Weiss.
"I got her," Jaune said, once again running close to where Weiss was falling.
He reached out with the Force again, and grabbed hold of Weiss. Jaune slowed her descent until she floated above the ground. He let go and Weiss landed on her feet, right in front of Ruby.
"Oh uh… Thanks Jaune."
"Yes… thank you," Weiss said, a very small amount of sarcasm in her voice.
"Well… this is great. Now we've got Bird brain to deal with." Yang said, looking up at the circling Nevermore.
"I got it!" Ruby yelled excitedly, bringing her weapon crescent rose out in sniper form. She began taking aim at the Nevermore, but was stopped by Weiss.
"Are you kidding me? You want to antagonize it? It's not bothering us right now, we should just grab the relic and return to Beacon. Just… stop acting childish and I promise I'll be nicer." Weiss said, and Ruby nodded.
"I agree with Weiss, there is no shame in a strategic retreat." Jaune suggested with wisdom passed down from the Jedi. The others nodded in agreement, grabbed their relics, and ran.
…
The large Grimm lumbered through the trees, pushing branches aside with its tall body. It sniffed the air, looking for the scent of the Force wielder it felt.
It didn't find the Force wielder, but did sense the Force wielder using its abilities again. The large Grimm began running towards its prey.
…
The group had run a considerable distance, and came across a misty cavern with a bridge covering the gap.
"I don't remember this being here…" Jaune said, looking down the chasm.
"We must have flown over it in the beginning." Pyrrha commented.
The Nevermore had caught up with them, and perched itself on their side of the bridge. It watched and waited patiently. Underneath, a large group of Beowolves and Ursas had gathered, but they occasionally glanced back into the forest behind them, almost as if they were afraid. But the Grimm did block their exit across the bridge.
"Well that's not good." Yang commented, as the group hid behind ruins as pillars.
"That's an understatement." Blake responded. "There must be at least thirty Grimm gathered there." She checked the ammo amount in Gambol Shroud.
"Even if we get past the Grimm there is the Nevermore to deal with. It is a large Grimm, and won't go down easily." Ren added on, holding his dual weapons at the ready.
"So we need to draw the Grimm away, then cross the bridge so we can take cover behind those ruins." Jaune said, unholstering his blaster as a plan began to form. "That means some of us need to act as bait."
Jaune checked the charge and deemed it adequate. He debated using his Lightsaber, but decided to continue with the sword to keep up appearances.
"Okay. Pyrrha and I will draw the Grimm away, allowing you guys to cross the bridge. Do any of you have experience with explosives?" Jaune asked and Nora raised her hand with a smile.
"Great. Once Pyrrha and I have crossed, I want you to explode the bridge behind us, Nora. That'll cut off the rest of the Grimm." Jaune finished, and turned to face his partner.
"Are you alright with this Pyrrha?" Jaune asked, and the redhead nodded, determination in her eyes.
"Alright… good luck, and may the Force be with you." Jaune said and began to run, and instantly kicked himself for letting old habits slip out.
"What the heck is the Force?" Ruby asked.
"Must be a religious thing." Blake answered.
Pyrrha shrugged, and ran after her partner. Drawing her Milo and Akuo off her back.
Jaune shot his blaster, and the red blaster bolt impacted a Grimm's back. The attack drew the Grimm's attention, and whatever unease it may have been feeling was lost when it saw Jaune. He continued to fire as the horde of monsters began to chase.
"Go! Now!" Jaune yelled, and the other teens took off.
The Nevermore took notice of the group, and began flying towards them.
"Nora!" Ren called out.
"On it!" Nora yelled back, propelling herself into the air with a well-timed grenade blast. She aimed her grenade launcher at the Grimm, and shot a pink and gray grenade.
The explosion impacted the Nevermore's wing and caused it to retreat.
"Now! Cross the bridge!" Ruby yelled, running ahead of everyone. "Nora! Start planting charges!"
Meanwhile, Jaune and Pyrrha fought back to back. Jaune held his sword with both hands, and adopted a more aggressive stance as he killed the Grimm. One Grimm leaped at Jaune, but he assisted the Grimm's jump with Force and it went soaring over their heads and into the gorge. Pyrrha used her agile speed and blade to finish the beasts, her shield blocking whatever she couldn't kill fast enough.
One Grimm tried attacking her from a different side, but an invisible barrier stopped the Grimm mid-air. Pyrrha stabbed it in the chest and nodded thanks to Jaune.
A large Ursa charged forward, but stopped when Jaune sliced off its leg causing it to crash into the ground. Then he ran up its back and stabbed it in the head.
"Jaune! Pyrrha! Come on!" Ruby yelled, waving at them.
"That's our cue. Get moving and I'll cover you!" Jaune said to Pyrrha who nodded. He pulled out his blaster and fired off a few shots.
Pyrrha rushed for the bridge, and Jaune shot some more before turning to follow her.
But he stopped, feeling a disturbance in the Force as a large body of dark side began getting closer.
Jaune turned, and saw it exit the trees. A very large and muscular humanoid with large teeth. It's body was covered with small patches of white fur, the red being covered by large plates of bone armor. Over the region where a heart could have been, sat a wreckage of gold machinery fused to the Grimm's skin. A ball of gold with a glowing blue hole sat inside.
"What the…" Jaune said.
"Jaune run! That's a giant!" He heard Pyrrha's voice call out to him and break him out of his shock. He took his eyes off the beast for a moment, and it charged.
"Shit!" He yelled, running towards the bridge.
However, the Nevermore had circled back. It screeched from above and slammed into the already crumbling bridge, cutting Jaune off from the group. He looked over the edge and saw the rocks tumble out of sight.
"Jaune!" He looked up and saw Pyrrha on the other side, right before she had to dive to avoid the Nevermore.
"Don't worry about me! Just focus on the Nevermore!" Jaune yelled back, and as he did this he felt the Giant right behind him. Jaune pushed himself to the side with the Force, dodging the attack.
Pyrrha was reluctant, but ran back to the others.
…
Back at the cliffs, Ozpin and Goodwitch watched from the cameras, ready to intervene if necessary. Watching the students fight the Nevermore as Giant.
"This is the first report of a giant sighting since the Great War." Goodwitch said.
"If you observe the bone plates on its body, it is certainly old." Ozpin commented while watching the cameras.
"Should we intervene?"
"Not yet, I want to see what these students are capable of. And it may give us a better look at what Mr. Arc is capable of as well." He narrowed his eyes while watching the Jedi using his 'semblance' to throw rocks and boulders at the Giant.
"There's more going on than we realize, and I intend to find out."
…
The Giant charged at Jaune, who was barely able to dodge out of the way. It slowed and grabbed a large rock, throwing it at the boy. Jaune caught it with the Force and threw it right back, it bounced off its head.
He rushed forward with his sword and aimed to cut off the Giant's legs. However the Giant moved, and positioned itself so the blade struck its arm instead of its leg.
The Giant swung its arms as weapons, Jaune barely able to block with his sword. But when he counterattacked, the blow was blocked by the bone structure on the Giant's arms and it glanced off.
'This isn't working.' Jaune thought, and pulled out his blaster.
Keeping distance between him and the Giant, he began shooting. The blaster bolts burned the bone protecting the Giants body but didn't dig any deeper. So he aimed for its eyes.
Jaune shot his blaster, and the bolt flew. It struck the Giant's left eye, and it roared in fury. It held its wounded eye in one hand, and pounded its chest with the other.
The gold core in its chest began spinning, generating an aura of energy. It focused the energy, and a blue beam shot forward. Jaune jumped to the side, almost getting hit by the beam as it incinerated the ground.
Jaune ran behind a pillar for cover, cooling his blaster so it wouldn't overheat. But the pillar he was hiding behind was simply picked up by the Giant.
It lifted the large pillar over its head. Grinning as it was about to kill a Force wielder. But a bullet shot it's face, distracting it and causing the pillar to slam into the ground next to Jaune. He took advantage of it and rolled out of the way.
He looked over as the others opened fire at the Giant with their guns.
"Eat this!" Ruby yelled, shooting with his sniper rifle.
"Get out of there Jaune! We'll cover you!" Pyrrha said, shooting with her own rifle.
The Giant roared as the bullets bounced off its body, and pounded its chest. The core powered up once more, and began spinning as it collected energy.
"No!" Jaune yelled, quickly reaching out with the Force and grabbing the core. He pulled, and the core dislodged from the Giant's chest. The energy it collected discharged, causing an explosion that pushed the large Grimm over onto its back.
Jaune ran forward, and brought his sword down in a swing. But the Giant caught the blade, holding it in its hand as the Grimm grinned. It squeezed, and the blade shattered.
The Giant punched Jaune in the chest, it's fist as large as his midsection. It threw Jaune back, and he expected pain, but his Aura protected him.
More bullets peppered the Giant, but it ignored them.
"No! Our bullets aren't doing anything!" Ruby yelled, watching as Jaune was hit.
"Rrrggh! If only we were on the other side!" Yang yelled as well, but stopped when she heard her gauntlets click. "Dammit! I'm out!"
"Me too." Blake said, ejecting the empty mag out of her weapon.
Pyrrha heard her own rifle click, and cursed. She shifted it back to melee form, and looked for a way across and yelled out to her partner. "Jaune run! You can't fight it without a weapon!"
"It's alright! I've got this…" Jaune replied, in a standoff with the Giant. Pyrrha just stared, confused.
Jaune reached to his belt, and unhooked his lightsaber. The cool metal and comfortable leather grip brought back memories to Jaune, but he pushed them aside as now was not the time.
He pressed the button, and a brilliant blue blade extended from the hilt. The Giant stood hesitantly, as Jaune moved his body into a stance.
The others watched in confusion, wondering what weapon Jaune was holding. Meanwhile, Ruby looked with stars in her eyes.
The Giant broke out of its momentary pause, and charged. It roared, and brought its arm back to strike. Jaune waited for the right moment, and struck. His movements fluid and graceful, Jaune swung his lightsaber and sliced off the Giant's arm.
The Giant tumbled, expecting to hit Jaune, and roared in pain. It stared in shock at its missing limb and back at Jaune again, who now was running towards it. The young Jedi leaped into the air, and brought his lightsaber down into the chest of the Giant.
It roared in pain again, and tried smacking Jaune off of its chest. But he was already gone, jumping off and landing in front of the Giant. The Giant scrambled to its feet and tried to run for the forest.
"Oh no you don't." Jaune said, and tripped the Giant with the Force.
It fell onto its chest, and swung its arm defensively. Jaune cut it off and ran up the Grimm's chest. Leaping into the air, he stabbed his lightsaber into the Giant's head.
Jaune removed the lightsaber, and powered it off. He stepped off the Giant, who was turning to ash underneath him.
"W-What was that?!" Nora said, watching Jaune walk towards them.
"I've never seen something like that before." Weiss said, and turned to face Pyrrha. "What about you? You're his partner, do you know anything?"
Pyrrha shook her head. "He never mentioned it."
Blake had seen Jaune and his weapon in action before, but decided to remain quiet.
"Well whatever it is, I think I'm in love…" Ruby said. The group of students watched as Jaune reached the end of the bridge, and jumped. Using the Force to launch him to the other side.
…
Ozpin and Goodwitch watched from above the cliff in amazement as the boy expertly defeated the Giant with his weapon.
"Headmaster, what is that? I've never seen a weapon like that before in my life, could it be something new from Atlas?" Goodwitch asked Ozpin, who remained quiet before answering.
"…I have no idea Ms. Goodwitch. While I do not deny the creativity of Atlas, I have a suspicion that they do not have the technology to create that sort of weapon. If they did, we would have heard about it already." Ozpin explained his thoughts as he watched Jaune finish off the Giant. "Whatever it is, it seems to be very effective against Grimm."
"But it does raise more questions about Mr. Arc…" He narrowed his eyes in thought as the cameras zoomed in on the weapon.
'I have seen that before… but from where?'
…
Jaune landed on the ground. He looked at the broken sword and sighed, tossing it onto the ground. He held his lightsaber in his hand and saw the other students approaching.
'Time to face the music…' Jaune's thoughts were interrupted by Ruby appearing in front of him in a flash of roses.
"WHAT IS THAT!" Ruby both yelled and spoke quick enough that it hurt his ears.
'Okay, not what I was expecting-'
"I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT! SO POWERFUL! SO ELEGANT! SO MUCH SWOOSH SWOOSH! TELL ME ITS SECRETS!" Ruby yelled, trying to grab the Lightsaber from Jaune's hand and physically climbing onto him to do so, causing the two to fall over.
"W-What? No! Get off me!" Jaune said back, trying to push Ruby off of him.
"NEVER!" She yelled back, almost in reach of the Lightsaber.
At last, the other students arrived. And Yang pulled Ruby off Jaune by the hood, saving her fellow blonde. "Whoa there sis! You're going full weapon geek! Geez, the only other time you've acted like this was when we went weapon shopping for the first time!"
Ruby struggled against her sister's grip in vain. Jaune looked even more concerned as Yang tried coaxing her sister out of a weapons craze. But a gloved hand appeared in front of him, causing Jaune to shift focus. It was Pyrrha offering a helping hand.
"You okay Jaune?" Pyrrha asked, helping the boy up.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just wasn't expecting… that." Jaune said, pointing at Ruby who struggled in Yang's grip.
"But seriously Jaune, what kind of weapon is that? I've never seen anything like it before." Pyrrha said, pointing at the Lightsaber in Jaune's hand.
"Is it Atlas in design? I'll admit, I've never seen it before either." Weiss asked as well.
"No, it's… complicated. I built it with my master and it's extremely difficult to construct. It might be one of the last ones to exist." Jaune said, he doubted anyone could find a kyber crystal on this planet. He heard Ruby whine while being held by Yang.
He briefly thought back to the architect droid, and how it held knowledge about Lightsabers and had assisted in the process of building one for many years.
"Not to be rude, but why didn't you use that earlier?" Ren asked.
"I didn't use it before cause I didn't think the situation required it. But that Grimm was stronger than I thought. And besides, I might be using it for a while now." Jaune said, kicking the broken sword at his feet.
"Could you teach me how to build one? If I could add that blade to crescent rose… oh the possibilities!" Ruby asked, having calmed down and now out of Yang's arms.
"I'm sorry Ruby, but like I said, it's near impossible to recreate. The key component is incredibly rare and extremely hard to find. Even then, the official blueprints were lost long ago." Jaune spoke.
"Well maybe if I just have a look at it, I could figure out how to recreate it-" Ruby continued on but was interrupted.
"No." Jaune cut her off sternly, holding his lightsaber tightly.
"It's the only thing I have left. I don't want anyone else touching it." Jaune said, pushing the memories down again. The group was silent for a moment.
"Well, moving away from that. What do you call it?" Nora asked, breaking the silence.
"Call it?" Jaune asked.
"Yeah, what's its name?"
"Oh. It's called a Lightsaber." Jaune answered, hooking his Lightsaber to his belt.
"Kinda boring, but I guess I can see it." Ruby said. "Straight to the point, I like it!"
Jaune was confused, but decided to roll with it.
"Anyways, let's get back. Wouldn't want to keep the headmaster waiting." Jaune said.
The group agreed, and they set off.
…
"So what now Ozpin?" Goodwitch said, breaking formalities.
"Now we wait." Ozpin said, closing his own scroll.
Later the initiation graduates gathered on the stage while Ozpin stood in front of them, projecting their pictures on a holographic screen. Russell Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing and Sky Lark," Ozpin continues. The students are lined up for the cheering audience to witness, the screen of the theater shows each of their profiles.
"The black bishop pieces were rescued by the four of you. From this day forward, you will operate together as Team CRDL, lead by... Cardin Winchester!"
Four students approach the stage to take their positions in front of the headmaster as their faces fill the screen, and the audience applauds once more.
"Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The white rook pieces were retrieved by the four of you." Amid the clapping, Nora laughs and hugs Ren. "Led by... Jaune Arc!"
"Led?"
"Congratulations, young man." Pyrrha offers a friendly shoulder bump to Jaune, who nods in thanks.
"And finally: Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!" Ruby was in shock as Yang hugged her sister.
"I'm so proud of you!"
"It looks like things are shaping up to be an... interesting year." His eyes were then cast to Jaune and the Lightsaber on his waist.
…
Later, within the Beacon Vaults.
…
Ozpin walked down the large hall, the only noise coming from the clicking of his cane. His surroundings were illuminated by blazers with green fire. He reached the end of the hall, and pressed a hand against the wall.
A small portion of the wall slid in, as Ozpin activated the secret door. The wall opened up to reveal a collection of ancient ruins and artifacts. Ones that predated even his own time.
He walked past the ruined wall with a faded painting of a bird rising up into the air, and towards one of the artifacts stationed on a pedestal.
It looked similar to Jaune Arc's weapon, but different as well. A different fashion, perhaps less streamline or a different model? The hilt was connected to a box by a cord, he ran a hand over the petrified and peeling leather and the aged stone.
He pulled out his scroll, watching a recording of Jaune power on his weapon. He mimicked the boys actions and found the on button on the more ancient weapon. It clicked, but nothing happened.
He hummed to himself and set the ancient weapon back onto its pedestal. Looking back at the scroll, he muttered something.
"Who are you, Jaune Arc?"
