CHAPTER FOUR

One week later .

"What are you two giggling about?", said Chilli to her daughters, who despite being late night, were having a cuppa at the balcony.

She smiled with nostalgia; they looked like the little girls they once were, sitting at the floor with tea, cups and biscuits, with mirth and mischief shining in their eyes; the only sign of their actual age was the absence of Floppy and Polly Poppy, who had honour places in their teenage rooms.

"Well... we are planning something...", said Bingo enigmatically.

"What are you two scheming?"

"Wait and see Mum!", sentenced Bluey. Both teens giggled.

Chilli put her hands in her hips and, struggling to keep a serious face, said: "To bed. Now. No more shenanigans for today, we have a busy day tomorrow!".

Bluey giggled again. "You bet!", she said while hurriedly taking the tea stuff and leaving the balcony, followed for a laughing Bingo.

THIS EPISODE OF BLUEY IS CALLED, WELCOME HOME

She looked at herself in the mirror, she had brushed her fur until it shone, she wanted to look pretty. "MUUUUM! WHAT BLEND DID YOU ASKED ME FOR?!", she heard Bluey yell downstairs.

"YOUR DADS FAVORITE HON!!", she replied.

"Oh! That's easy!".

"Its not fair... why I always have to cook and you just make the tea?", complained Bingo.

"Because you are the better cook! And my tea is just amazing...", said Bluey appeasing her sister with a smile.

"Well, that's true, you are hopeless in the kitchen!", chuckled Bingo.

"Now. Black tea? done, mint? done! lemon zest? Done!..."

"Did you put mums Lamingtons in the tray, Bluey?"

"Oh! I forgot!".

"Ill do that", said Chilli entering to the kitchen. "What about those omelettes, Bingo?".

"Ill putt the mix in the pan when dad arrives, otherwise they might get cold".

"Well thought!".

Bluey was wagging her tail excitedly. "Did you hear that?!", she said. "Its a car!".

Bingo and Chilli smiled widely. It was a car! Chilli felt her heart thumping at the sound of footsteps and a keychain at the entrance.

"BANDIT!!"

"DAAAD!!"

The Heeler women exclaimed at one time, while racing towards the door.

Bandit was kissed and hugged at his heart content.

"My!! If every welcome is like this, I might get to travel a lot more!", he said chuckling.

"Dont you dare!", said Chilli, while taking his hand and guiding him to the sofa. Bingo and Bluey hurried themselves to the kitchen.

"So, what has been going on during my absence?", he asked to her while caressing her hand.

"Nothing out of the ordinary. The girls asked to me to tell them my version of how we met."

"Did you tell them everything?!" Asked he, lifting his brows.

"I did tell them everything I deem suitable for their age".

He chuckled. They both interchanged a complicit look and a smile.

"I remembered how important Trixie intervention was, without she I may even had not met you", she said while reclining on him and squeezing his hand.

"We may have wouldn't meet AGAIN; you should say". Chilli smiled and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, Trixie was great in London. I still remember what she did at the airport, that day she won the place of a sister in my heart!", he said.

"By the way, you should tell the girls you were the one setting Trixie and Stripe together! Don't know why the girls were convinced I had a hand on it! Its the same with Frisky and Rad!".

"Oh, I will". he said chuckling. "You know? I think that even without Trixie we would have met AGAIN any way, maybe in other place, but we would had".

"Oh?", said Chilli, expecting more elaboration.

He gently caressed her hand. "I cannot imagine life without you, so Im certain we are together in every parallel universe".

"Aww Bandit..."

"DONE MUM!", they heard.

"And we have those boisterous pups also, in every possible timeline", he added.

So, the Heelers had their brekky, chatting about London and Brisbane.

Once they were clearing the table, the girls announced:

"Well, now its time for your anniversary present!"

"Girls. You shouldnt..."

"Oh! Cmon You both love to receive gifts!", said Bluey while Bingo did go to get her and her sisters backpacks.

Bandit frowned lightly.

"Wait, where are you going to?"

"Thats precisely our present to you!", declared Bingo with a smug smile. "Youll have a whole day for yourselves!".

"What?!" Exclaimed Bandit.

"Were heading first to Chloes house, to a much necessary catch up with her and Lila; then her dad will drive us all to the centre, where well go to the movies with Chloe, Coco, Lila, and Indie. Next, Indies mum will take us to her house, where we will have lunch; after lunch, Uncle Stripe drive us, Muffin and Socks to have a cuppa with Nana, then Aunt Trixie will take us to their house, where well have dinner with the family and then sleepover with Socks and Muffin. We will be here tomorrow at brekkys hour."

Both girls were holding giggles at their father dismay.

"You will be just fine, kiddos. Theres plenty of food in the fridge and you got our numbers!", bantered Bingo.

"Girls... I understand your gesture and I appreciated it but... I also missed you both, you know?".

"And we missed you too, very much, but accept this gift! After all, it was YOURS anniversary, Big Rock Daddy!", said Bluey, patting Bandits hand gently.

"Besides this chance might not get repeated too soon, Ill took it if I were you!", counselled Bingo. "And anyway, youll have us here very early tomorrow".

"So, just please dont make a mess of the house, it takes ages to tidy it up!", Said Bluey.

A car could be heard parking at the front yard while Blueys got an incoming message at her phone.

"Oh! Its Chloe! They are here!"

"Bye! We love ya!", the girls said, while leaving the house.

Bandit and Chilli looked up at the leaving car.

"When did they grow up, Chilli?", said he with a nostalgic sigh.

"Every day, and they are still growing... we have much more time ahead...".

"...Yeah, I guess you are right". He said smiling.

She smiled coquettishly at him to lighten the mood. "Well, we might do the best of the girls' absence... I have prepared in advance."

"Hold on. You did know about this?"

"I just happen to accidentally hear them planning it. Please dont tell them."

"Ok". He said chuckling.

"I have brought a good bottle of champagne and some appetizers...". Bandit walked to the kitchen but was interrupted by Chillis chuckling, "Oh! Cmon Romeo McFlourish, of course they are not on the fridge!"

"No?", said Bandit with a puzzled expression.

"No! They are in our room!".

Bandit smiled smoothly and took her in his arms.

"Oh!!! Hand me down, you rascal! Im a respectable married lady!", exclaimed Chilli playfully.

"Are you? Because I love respectable married ladies!", said Bandit with a cheeky grin while climbing the first steps of the staircase.

Chilli squealed and laughed.

"Now... can you tell me again those things you told me once, while we were climbing a staircase in London?", he playfully begged to her.

THE END.
