EPILOGUE

The line at the baggage check-in of their airline had been seemingly endless, and Chillis mood had not made it any better. The cloudy day and her constant sighing were very well matched.

The only thing that seemed to brighten their perspective was that there were only three passengers left on the line before them, then they will make it to the boarding gate.

Chilli sighed... again.

"Aww Cmon mate, you just saw him yesterday!", said Trixie smiling reassuringly and trying to lighten her friends mood.

"Yeah..."

"And he explained to you that he could not come because he had to drive his bus at this hour!"

"Yeah..."

"Thats a very reasonable excuse, after all, he is a very working man, so you told me".

"Yeah..."

"And yesterday the two of you went on a date where you had your romance goodbye".

Chilli just sighed.

Trixie couldn't help but to put on motherly airs and said, "Ok! One sigh more and hell come back to my baddies list!".

"Oh! No Trixie, its just that these have been the most amazing weeks of my life so far. It wasn't just romance... you know? Its like I these days I had begun to KNOW Bandit, not just the best of him, which is what is one usually show to a romantic interest in the beginning, but his flaws also, and yet I like him even that way..."

"Well, that's good! So why are you so devo?!"

"Because... well, in this little time I have come to understand him somehow, and Bandit is a very sensitive guy. He is kind and yet intense at the same time, so he truly invests himself in everything he does, and our relationship is no exception. So much so that sometimes I have thought he is rushing things a little bit, and I have told him so... you know? Life has taught me that you can being hurt if you rush this kind of things... he understands it because it had happened to him, yet he always said its difficult for him to put a grip on his emotions regarding to me..."

"Oh! That's very good! You have him wrapped in your little finger!"

Chilli smiled ruefully. "Yet yesterday... it was different. We had a beautiful evening, he was as wonderful and fun as usual... and when he walked me to our hotel we kissed, we promised to catch up trough Facebook and Skype, we said good-bye, and he left!".

"And what were you expecting for?" Said Trixie Puzzled.

"Dunno...something else, but I don't know what..."

"You have been romancing and all that, but the guy has only known you for two weeks. Thats a perfectly normal good-bye to me! Besides, you had been thinking hes rushing sometimes..."

"I know, but that kind of good-bye is not usual Bandit...".

There was only one person before them now. Trixie was about to reassure her friend when Chillis cell phone rang. She could hear the voice at her friends cell phone saying: "Hey Babe! To what boarding door are you heading to?!"

"Bandit!", exclaimed Chilli, wagging her tail wildly. "Twenty-four. Why!?"

"Wait for me. Im coming!", said he.

"WHAT?!" we cannot wait!", exclaimed Trixie.

"Oh dont worry Trix!", said flippantly Chilli. "You go on, Ill wait for Bandit".

"Chilli, theres almost no time to lose to go on board, and once we'll get through the check in of our bags, well cannot come back!"

Chillis smile was very bright at that moment. "Sorry Trixie, I NEED to wait for him".

"Awww boy! Im not going anywhere without you this time!" said her now somewhat exasperated friend.

Then, they both saw a blue dog, running at all speed at the end of the hallway.

"They need time, we all do!", Trixie thought. "Now Trixie, think, think!".

"Hey! That port is exactly like mine!", she exclaimed while an idea popped into her mind. She quickly exanged it for hers without no one been the wiser, save for Chilli.

"Trix. What are you doing?!"

"Gettin ya some extra time!"

Chillis eyes widened, realizing what her friend was about to do. "Dearest, theres no need! I still can just...!"

Then it was Trixies turn at the check. "Too late!", she said, While Chilli looked at her dumbfounded.

The suitcase was opened for revision by the airline worker.

Trixie yelled. "WHAT?! Thats not my baggage! THIS. IS. UNNACEPTABLE!!!"

"Oh no!", Chilli gasped.

By then, an exhausted Bandit had come to her side. He took her by the hand and, without paying any heed to the little scandal that had begun, get her at a side of the line.

"Chilli", he said in the sweetest of tones.

She couldn't help but got herself into his embrace and an imaginary private world of them.

"Oh! You shouldn't have done this... What about your work?".

"Dont worry babe, I have it all covered up... I needed to see you one last time before you go. Theres something I have to tell you..."

Meanwhile, someone could be heard almost shrieking. "Of course, it is not mine!! It has male underwear inside you see?! - WHAT?! My responsibility?! HOW DARE YOU?!".

Bandit continued. "Well, Sorry I didn't tell you before, but you had cautioned me about being rush, so I didnt want to scare you... but then I thought: Hey! This is Chilli, she will not get scared, shes made of hard stuff!".

Chilli chuckled, "Well, I am!".

"So", he said, "I need to say that I know you care deeply for me and that you like me, yet I still don't know how truly deep your feelings for me are...". Chilli was about to say something at that, but he interrupted her. "Please let me finish", he said. "And thats ok, because we have known each other just for two weeks after all, yet I know how deep MY feelings are..."

Chilli thought her heart was about to stop or something.

Bandit looked directly at her eyes while caressing her cheek. "Im falling in love with you, Chilli".

The world stopped for Chilli in that moment. She couldn't hear Trixies yelling anymore, they were not at the airport saying goodbye to each other, they were somewhere else, a place without space nor time.

"So... I need to ask something of you", he continued while inhaling deeply. "I need to ask you for a chance to truly love you, to love you for real, when were both at home back at real life... So... please would you wait for me? I know I said it would take me two months more to investigate here, but Ill make it into one! I promise!".

Chilli was looking at him, speechless.

"I know... you had said to me that rushing these things is risky and Im basically asking you to be my girlfriend despite the little time we have dated, but its what I feel right now... yet If you dont want to...Ill understand and..."

He could not continue, for Chilli jumped into his arms to kiss him soundly.

"Can I take that as a yes?" he said, with a sigh and dreamy eyes.

"Yes, you are worth every risk, boyfriend!".

They looked at each other eyes with longing, but some yelling not far from there, bring them back to reality. "No! It's not mine, and my baggage security ITS. YOUR. RESPONSABILITY!! Yes, it is! WHAT?! I know people who know your boss, you know?!".

"What happened to Trixie?!", exclaimed Bandit.

"Ohhh... she might get in trouble because of us! Shes getting us time!", said Chilli worried.

"Is she?!", said he, smiling appreciatively. "Let me do this! Where is HER port?"

Chilli passed Trixies real suitcase to Bandit. "Hurry up! They might call on security!".

He kissed her quickly. "Let me know when you got home!", he said winking at her while going to Trixie. She came back at her place in the line. Nobody seemed to notice the interchange with all the raucous.

"Excuse miss...?", said Bandit to Trixie

"Miss Trixie Queenslander, for you!".

"Oh...Ok. Miss Queenslander, we have already found your suitcase!", he said sheepishly. "Our airline is most sorry for this inconvenience...", Bandit apologized while giving the suitcase to the inspector to check in.

The young man in front of him, didn't seemed too convinced. "And whats your name colleague?", he said to the heeler.

"Bert...RomaĆos, Im from Informatics...eh... Im the new guy!"

"Wheres your credential?"

"Im VERY new! I still dont got it... Please this is a VIP situation, do some good to both of us and let her pass quickly, or we might get into trouble...she really has important contacts you know?".

Trixie looked down at the inspector. He sighed and continued. "OK miss, you can pass".

Bandit sighed while helping Trixie with her suitcase. "Hey... now I owe you twice... Im deeply grateful for what you did today".

She smiled warmly, "Dont worry mate, you just make her happy, Ok?"

"That Ill do!", he exclaimed. "By the way, that's your real surname?"

"Yes, it is"

Bandit gulped. "Then you really might know my boss!".

Trixie just smiled. "Oh my! Is good to know!".

Bandit smiled, while looking lovingly at Chilli who was at her baggage check in.

N.A: Thank you so much for reading till the end. I hope you had enjoyed your reading as much as I did while writing this story.

Bandit nickname here means, Bert "Romeo" (in Greek).

Trixie surname is only an invention of mine, considering the fact she is a Queensland Heeler, "Queenslander" sounded good to me.
