Spider-Man: Webmaster Season 01 Episode 05

We see Spider-Man up on a metal tower of some sort watching a boat with people gathered at the front going by stating "Definately something weird going on over there." He'd spoken getting a closer look before adding "People dressed up like playing cards."

"Did you say playing cards?" Peter questioned from his place back at the nest next to the large computer.

"Uh-huh, they travel in your circles?" Questioned the wallcrawler if he'd known anything about these guys.

"Fraid so." They'd answered back about knowing those guys. "Came across someone like that back in my old Front Lines days."

"Well, guess I should go introduce myself." He'd stated and swung off to go get onto the boat as it was traveling past the docs.

A woman on the boat was holding onto her necklace saying "No, please!" while trying to not be robbed.

"C'mon, you'll have a new one soon enough. And you won't have to steal for it." The girl in an outfit that covered her from hed to toe with the number 10 on one side of it stated walking over to them.

"Ya, she earns hers the old fashioned way." The guy dressed like a jack stated playing with one of the blades worn as a part of his costume, which had been knocked out of his hand by a spider shapped blade. "Hey!" He'd then called trying to find who'd done that.

Spider-Man then jumped down swinging into the guy knocking them over before landing atop the boat and when his spider-sense went off he'd dodged the large figure with a spade symbol covering their chest tried to grab him. He'd then kicked them off of the part of the boat he was on and down to the deck below them.

"Time to go I'd say." The woman dressed as a queen style playing card stated after their muscle had dropped down in front of them.

"Sorry love, but this is why I came back to Neo York City." The guy dressed as a king stated and thrown a ribbon that wrapped around Spider-Man and went to try to swing a sword at him.

The Webslinger then dodged and used his spider strength to force the ribbon to rip appart and free himself before then kicking King away from him. The Queen however then zapped the control box causing the boat's motors to malfunction and start to go hawyire with small explosions.

"Who's it going to be my husband, or all these passengers?" Queen questioned what choice Spider-Man would make as a woman had started to fall and he'd grabbed her by the wrist while those guys go away on hoverboards shapped like playing cards.

"Everyone into the lifeboat!" one of the men aboard called out while pulling the lever to release it so they could get away.

"Everything alright there?" Peter questioned if they were alright on their end while Spider-Man watched the people running to escape.

"Fine, perefect, except that they got away." Terry answered back about those guys managing to escape this time.

"We'd better reconvene, you should know who you're dealing with." Peter stated back telling him to come back to The Nest.

"Be there when I can, I'm late for an appointment." Spider-Man answered back jumping off the boat and swinging off.

Leaning forwards into his chair Peter stated "But I need to talk to you." however he was ignored by the new wallcrawler.

We then see that Terry had gone to a club and up to the dark haired girl from his school calling "Dana, sorry I'm late. I got stuck in"What are you apologizing for? I wasn't expecting you." He'd began to try to apologize for being late, but she'd cut him off in response.

"How many times has it been now Terry? After awhile a girl gets the idea." Dana then stated to him while walking off.

"No, you got the wrong idea." Terry stated trying to go after her so that he could attempt to explain himself.

"Do I?" She'd questioned back and continued to ignore him while he was attempting to plead his case about being late but that wasn't exactly going anywhere fast.

"It's not like I wanna be late, it's just that I've got these responsibilites now." He tried to explain to her.

Dana however didn't seem to be buying it at all stating "Sure you do." refusing to listen to what he has to say.

"Look, if you can't handle it then maybe we should just forget the whole thing." Terry stated in frustration about not getting to explain himself.

"Terry, I already have forgotten it." Dana then stated to him brushing her bangs from her face as she does so and turns away from him.

He was going to reach for her but then changed his mind and decided to just leave instead and walked over to the entrance leaving the building to just head somewhere else for the night instead since Dana didn't wanna speak to him at the moment anyway.

"Big fight." A blonde girl spoke from where she was sitting outside the ground level window of the club. Terry stopped and turned towards her as she then says "I was watching."

Sometime later Terry had been speakig with the girl while walking along one of the upper streetways stating "I got this.. after school job. It takes up a lot of my time. Too much."

"Maybe you should ask your boss for more time off." She'd stated while walking in front of him which Terry chuckled at.

"Not this guy. Him you don't ask for time off." He'd answered back about his job that he's doing while following her.

"So what kid of afterschool job is this anyway?" She'd asked grabbing at the pole in front of her using it to turn to look at him.

"Well i do errands, sort of. It's kind of hard to explain." Terry had stated to the girl about the job that he's doing before then asking "What about you? What were you doing out there, how come you didn't go in?"

"Didn't know anyone." She'd answered back leaning against the pole with a somewhat saddened expression hugging herself against the pole.

"New in town?" Terry then questioned if she'd been new to the city since he didn't recognize her from his school, though she could have been from a different school in the area given the city was so big.

"Perpetually." The blonde stated back about being new to the area "My parents move around alot 'cause of of work."

"Well, at least you get to see the world." He'd pointed out to the girl who'd let go of the pole and went over to the side railing of the road.

"Ya, see the world and loose all your friends." She'd stated back about the downside of doing so. "You know what being uprooted every few weeks feels like?" She questioned leaning onto the side railing that was in front of her. "Never having any idea of what's going to be happening next?"

Terry had walked over to stand next to her while she was saying that and responds "I'm beginning to get an idea of what that's like." while leaning against the railing too while having his arms folded over the side.

"Two of a kind, that's what we are." The Blonde then stated scooting closer to him. "I'm Melanie. Melanie Walker."

Terry looked over at her and smiled a bit stating "Terry McGinnis." After telling her his name she'd practically forced herself onto him kissing him and he'd pulled her away from him so that she was now at arms length.

"What's wrong?" She'd questioned looking up at him wondering if she'd done something that he didn't exactly like.

"Nothing, it's just kinda quick that's all." He'd answered back with a slight chuckle in his voice feeling awkward.

The blond, Melanie, then stated to him "With me it's always been now or never." about that situation.

"Ever consider later?" He'd questioned about that which had caused her to let out a little chuckle of her own.

"How much later?" Melanie then questioned him about making her have to wait for that in particular.

Pretending to think about it for a second he'd then answered back "Well, I could see you tomorrow night."

Melaine had seem to like that idea and says to him "That'd be great. How about we meet back here tomorrow at midnight? Under the big clock."

I'll be here." Terry then answered back about meeting up with her again tomorrow night after looking up at the clock and then back to her.

We the see Melanie running off into the distance and fade off to Terry then walking down the steps going into The Nest where Peter had been waiting for him.

We then see that Ace had finally started taking a liking to Terry going over to him to be petted while Peter says "You're late, Dana again?"

"That's all over now, thanks to you and this job." Terry then answered back about being late getting there.

"Eh, you two will be back together soon enough." Peter answered back checking some information on the computer having had a grid pulled up to check out something. "And in the meantime we've gotta stop this gang."

"I gave 'em a lot more than they expected. They're gone." He'd stated back to Peter about the gang.

"They'll be back, and you'll need to be ready to stop them." Peter stated back about the gang. "The version I fought was of a Metahuman group but that version no longer exists. It's possible that at least one of them is the child of one of the previous incarnation's members."

We then see the next night as Spider-Man was going around the city in Gossamer and looking at the clock that read 11:10 p.m. on it and questions "So you're sure about this?"

"Everything the previous incarnation did was tied to playing cards, and the original cards had swords, not spades." Peter answered back about what they were doing.

"How does the Yatch fit in then?" He'd questioned about how that would even figure with this new version of the gang.

"It was part of a Yatch Club." Peter then answered back about just how terrible that line of thinking was.

"Ouch." The new wallcrawler then stated back about how terrible that idea was for him to hear.

We then see the Royal Flush Gang trying to steal the sword that peter had told Terry about but a webline had stuck to the wall in front of them causing them to trip over it and falling to the ground and we see Spider-Man had been there cluck to the pole on the opposite side and judging by his eyes had a smug look about his handywork.

"You don't look so royal now." Spider-Man stated to them with a smug tone in his voice as the largest member of the group had tried to attack him.

Dodging them he'd then kicked him into a pole and webbed him there before his Spider-Sense went off and he'd dodged an oncoming blast which had instead struck the largest group member and then other stuff around them. He continued to avoid the blasts and took down a shield using it to reflect the attack back onto the one dressed as a Jack.

Spider-Man then threw the shield at the Queen knocking her back in the process and over towards the King and the other girl, the latter of whom was sent next to try to fight him though something about her seemed familiar in a way and he'd hesitated for a second but then continued anway decided to restrain her.

We then hear one of the guards calling out "Alright, everyone hands up!" while pointing his weapon at them though not a single person was intimidated by him and Jack took them down and was now holding onto them.

"It appears we've been dealt a wild card. If you value his welfare I suggest you not follow." King spoke over to Spider-Man who'd let go of the girl he was fighting with and once they'd gotten a safe distance they'd tossed the guard with Spider-Man having to rescue them.

Sadly they had been late getting there and so didn't get to see one another given the time and the next day Terry had come down into the Nest in his street clothes.

"Late again." Peter stated to Terry who'd been walking past going to check out the other costumes just for something to do.

"Or early depending on how you look at it." Terry answered back to the elder man about the time.

"The gang is going to hit again, and we've only got a few hours to figure out where." The previous webslinger stated to his new protoge.

Terry then turned to look over his shoulder at his mentor and says "You sure it'll be tonight?" questioning if they knew that for sure.

"You've got something better to do?" Peter questioned back about Terry's attitude as of late regarding the job.

"Ya I do. If there was any kind of proof it'd be different but I'm not gonna change my plans because of a hunch. It's not like one night is going to make any difference." Terry stated back to him walking over.

Peter however had gotten up grabbing him by the shirt collar and says "One night always makes a difference."

"I know what it is, you can't stand anyone going out and having a life. You want me to end up like you, alone." Terry stated back angry about everything.

"You think I chose this?" Peter questioned shoving Terry onto the ground "I was forced to retire before I was ready. After Liz I.." He'd then stopped himself and then sighed "Forget it, you wouldn't understand even if I told you."

We see Terry looking regretful of what he'd said and slowly fade to him sitting on a park bench beating himself up for what he'd said to Peter earlier when his communications device had gone off and he'd answered.

"Melanie?" He'd questioned kind of hoping that it was her that was calling as he needed someone to talk with.

"Terry, I can't see you again. I'm sorry I didn't make it last night but you should know that it's because my family will be moving again soon." She'd stated to him before then hanging up.

He felt sad to hear that and went over to a special terminal in the park used by officers and put a special key card into it that made the symbol of his costume appear on screen and then put his communications device..phone, ya. He put his phone into the device and pressed a few keys with it now tracing the last call and giving him the number that she called from.

"Computer cross reference address." He'd stated to the terminal and it had given him the exact information of where to go and what level it was on, even what suite number that they'd been staying at. "Floor Plan." He then spoke getting the blueprints of the place and the exact layout of where he needed to go.

We then jump to Spider-Man sneaking in to see what's going on finding a briefcase which he'd opened and seen expensive jewels and such along with a playing card that acted like a boobytrap and his Spider-Sense went off with him barely managing to dodge by jumping up onto the wall using his webbing to slingshot himself higher up.

The Royal Flush gang had come back and disovered that their trap had been set off and then spread out to find them. Queen had gone into a room and had from her mouth downwards to her knees webbed up by the wallcrawler who then went to exit opening the door hard enough to knock Jack out who was on the other side.

The big one had gone to attack and Spider-Man barely dodged it seeing the laundry chute and he'd tackled the big guy into it before then jumping up and kicking him through causing them to drop down the chute. Heading to the main area finding Ten there who'd ran from him in his hesitation and the King had thrown a playing card that set off his -Man tried to dodge but this one went off before he could get clear and so was blown out of the window.

King had then gone after him on their playing card hoverboard calling "I knew you wouldn't dissapoint me!" ready to swing his sword at them.

The wallcrawler dodged and shot webbing out sticking to the card and distracting the King causing him to crash into part of the building in front of him breaking the board and sending both of the crashing down on top of the roof of the building.

There was a cop who'd managed to come in at the last moment as Ten tried to rescue King but he'd shot her board causing it to break and sending her falling with Spider-Man jumping over the edge and grabbing her before webbing over to land in front of the big clock.

"I don't suppose I could convince you to let me go?" She'd questioned the webslinger who didn't answer back as the police came up to get them.

We fade to Terry watching the Royal Flush Gang being taken away while in his civilian attire having gone to change as Melanie and the rest of her family were taken into custody as Peter had come up behind Terry who'd turned to look at him.

"About that stuff I said.. I'm sorry." Terry spoke apologizing to him hanging his head in shame about what he'd said to them. "This kinda thing ever happen to you?"

Peter then let out a small smile in response and turns to walk away from the scene with him stating "Let me tell you about a woman named Felicia Hardy." as the two walked away together.
