Spider-Man: Webmaster Season 02 Episode 01
We see a building with a sign written on it that reads Military Research & Development on it and a vehicle crashed thorugh from the back of the sign and out into the open sky flying off as Gossamer had shown up soon after.
We see Spider-Man inside of Gossamer stating "Our hunch paid off, Inque was after the prototype battlepod."
"That figures, any terrorist organization would pay a fortune for it." Peter stated watching things play out from the computer back at The Nest.
"Then I hope they didn't pay in advanced, because they aren't getting this one." Spider-Man then stated pushing a button inside of Gossamer.
This had Sent out a spider shaped projectile that'd dug it's legs into the ship and then bitng down on it using it's fangs and released an electrical discharge into the ship taking it down in the process. This caused the ship to drop into an aquatic exhibit with Inque jumping out and trying to get away, meanwhile the webswinger had ejected himself from Gossamer and swung off to go check out what happened seeing a bunch of seals there with his Spider-Sense going off when he'd looked at them.
"Wait a minute." He'd spoken noticing one of the seals had a different color to the rest of them and the seal revealed itself to be Inque who tried to get away.
She'd noticed there was a worker coming over and decided to use them as a hostage wrapping herself around them and pointing her arms at them like blades stating "Alright Spider-Man back off, unless you wanna see me put the squeeze on him."
The webslinger put one of his hands up while stating "He's just an innocent bystander Inque." wanting her to let him go.
"I'll take it from here Spider-Man." The man then stated putting his arms together and in an almost blinding green flash he'd taken the appearance of a Necrofrigian combined with that of a Gimlinopithecus, or rather a combination of Big Chill and Shocksquatch.
He'd then let out an electric jolt to zap Inque causing her to let go and drop onto the ground where he'd then taken a deep breath and blown out icy cold air at Inque freezing her in the process.
Seeing the Omnitrix symbol Spider-Man responds "Albedo." in surprise to see the man in front of him as they'd changed back in a green flash.
We then fade off to Terry walking down into The Nest with the man and they'd seen Peter there using the cane to walk over.
"Good to see you Peter." Albedo spoke walking over offering to shake Peter's hand, though Peter didn't reciprocate.
"It's been awhile." Peter then answered back before deciding to just co to the chase and says "Shall we cut through the chitchat? I know it wasn't Inque that brought you to Neo York City."
"I think it's time your protégé joined the Front Lines." Albedo answered back about why he was actually there.
"The Front Lines, seriously?" Terry questioned surprised to hear that they'd wanted him to join the greatest team of heroes on the planet.
"I can't help but consider the timing, is he supposed to be a replacement for Gear?" Peter questioned just why they wanted him now.
"No, this goes beyond that. We've been watching him and studdied him, he's proven his valor enough for me. What do you say?" Albedo then questioned about Terry joining the Front Lines.
"Oh I don't think it's my decision to make." Answered the former wallcrawler in response to the idea and looked over at Terry.
We then fade off with Spider-Man now standing alongside Albedo as Wonder Woman who hasn't appeared to age a day says "This is Front Lines Business, how dare you bring him in without consulting us? It's completely against procedure." as the others also didn't seem happy about what's going on.
"Spider-Man was one of the Front Lines' founding members." Albedo then reminded them about the founders.
"The real Spider-Man not this new punk." A man who'd hadarmor of Nth metal and the team phantom logo called Phantom Hawk had answered back.
"I'm afraid that Wonder Woman and Phantom Hawk have a point." The green haired girl in a swimsuit named Aquagirl stated about the situation.
"This isn't up for debate, like it or not Spider-Man stays." Albedo then stated in response to what's going on.
"Hey, I haven't said yes to anything yet." Spider-Man stated to everyone there about joining "I'm only here because you asked me to come check it out and meet the members of the Front Lines."
The other members began to leave and Phantom Hawk says "Just stay out of my way Junior, Hawks eat Spiders like you for breakfast." and then keeps walking off.
"Maybe this was a mistake to come here unannounced." Spider-Man stated with a sigh about them not giving him a chance.
"No, I need someone I can trust." Albedo answered back and took him to see Gear stating "He's still hanging on but I fear it wasn't an accident. Someone deliberately caused that wreck, and I think it was an inside job."
The webslinger then looked at the older man and questions "What do you mean?" wondering what he was on about.
"I found this hidden on the monorail, it canceled out Backpack's shielding capabilities making Gear take on the full force of the damage. His new armor set kept him alive but it still put him into the state you see now." The Alien Hero answered back showing him a device that had been planted there.
"But anyone could have put it there right?" The wallcrawler asked while looking the device over in his hand.
"No, it contains technology that only the Front Lines of the P.H.D. have access to." Explained the Biomnitrix wielder about the device.
"I can't belive it, these guys are all big-time heroes." Spider-Man stated looking back at them in response.
"I know, but I can't take any chances. That's why I want you here." Albedo answered back about his job at the moment.
"To spy on them. Well, that's gonna make me real popular." Spider-man then stated and we then cut to him reading over the information on the members.
"Going over my file?" The green haired girl from earlier questioned walking into the room and putting a hand on her hip.
"Aquagirl." Spider-Man spoke turning off the computer and turning to look over at her as she'd walked over.
"You can call me Marina." She'd answered back telling him what to call her giving out her actual name instead of the hero one she uses.
"Marina." The webslinger answered back before adding "It's all a bit overwhelming, I don't think I got off to a good start today."
"Give it time." She'd answered back to him and continues saying "Everyone has been on edge since Gear's accident. Static still hasn't come back form checking it out to make sure we didn't miss anything."
"I'm sorry." He'd spoken about Gear's crash that she was just telling him about while trying to think.
"Occupational hazard I guess. Wanna join me for a swim?" She'd answered back inviting him to join her.
"Thanks, but I've gotta cram." He'd answered back about joining her. "This Front Line stuff is still new to me."
"Maybe later then." She'd answered back and then left, once she was gone the webslinger then got back to checking everything out watching what the Front Lines Members were doing.
"I can't do this." Spider-Man then stated into the communicator to talk to Peter about everything. "I'm sitting here investigating people who have save the world more times than I can count. I've considered them heroes my whole life." As he says this we see the monitor on Aquagirl going off though he hadn't noticed yet.
"What's your point? It's possible they could be compromised in some way and aren't acting on their own accord." Peter then answered back stating they could have been compromised somehow.
"Ya but.." He'd began to respond but noticed the monitor had gone blank and tried to get it to come back on. "Aquagirl.." The new webslinger then spoke before running off to where Aquagirl was supposed to be.
He'd jumped down to the area and put his hand against the glass finding it hot to the touch while Marina as trying get out and Spider-Man then punched the glass but it whithheld and so he'd hit it again this time harder trying to break through. He continued to hit the glass over and over harder and harder when he'd finally had enough and give it everyhing he's got cracking the glass this time thanks to his spider strength.
Spider-Man continued hitting it again and again making the crack larger and larger until it had shattered. with the boiling water rushing down out of the glass and filling the lower level that was outside of the tank in the process and wrapping around him as he'd grabbed Marina and used a webline to slingshot both of them up into the upper floor.
The other two had come to investigate what was going on as he'd landed holding Marina in his arms with Wonder Woman questioning "What did you do to her?"
"It wasn't his fault. The tank malfunction, Spider-Man broke the glass and saved me." Marina stated back telling them that it wasn't his doing.
"Why didn't you call us on the intercom?" Phantom Hawk then questioned about not being called to know what was going on.
"Didn't have time to wait for you, had to get her free as fast as possible." Spider-Man answered back.
Once they drained the water away he'd then been on the system checking the computer to find out what's going on and was talking to Albedo stating "I'm running diagnostics now." as one of the btton squares had flashed and so he'd reached under it pulling out a chip stating "There's your problem. Thi micro-controller has been burned out all the circuits have been fused."
"Sabotage, this confirms it, there's a trator among us." Albedo stated breaking the chip in his hand frustrated.
We then see Gossamer flying off from the towar and Spider-Man was speaking to Peter through the communicator built into the mask stating "They've got me out on fly-by patrol. I think they just wanted me out of their little clubhouse, not that I imind getting away from there anway. Nobody wants me there."
"Nobody?" Peter questioned turning on a welding torch to work on one of his old vehicles while Terry was away.
"Well, maybe Aquagirl, but I had to save her life to win her over." He answered back about managing to get one of them to care.
"That's one way of making friends." The previous wallcrawler stated back and started to work on welding for the engine he was working on.
"Hold on, something's coming in on the Front Line Frequency." Spider-Man then stated flying off to find out what's going on.
He'd gone to join them and Albedo had been flying past in a form that looked like a combination of Jetray and Echo Echo calling "Get to the Terminal Building, stick wiht Phantom Hawk. He needs your help."
"Right, Phantom Hawk. My good budy." Spider-Man sighed and turned flying Gossamer over to them.
He'd been on their frequency when he'd heard Phantom Hawk stating "There's still two more on the roof."
"I got them." The Webslinger called dropping down on top of the roof from Gossamer grabbing the two of them and swinging them off to safety.
"Finally making yourself useful." Phantom Hawk spoke with his finger on his earpiece and says "I'm gonna follow that signal."
"What signal?" The wallcrawler questioned not knowing what he'd been talking about since he didn't pick up anything.
"The Emergency signal didn't you hear it?" They'd questioned back about picking up a distress signal. "You stay here, I don't need an ameture tagging along." With that he'd then flown off to go check it out.
"Albedo told me to stick with you and that's why I'm doing." Spider-Man stated remotely activating Gossamer's autopilot to come and pick him up.
Jumping from the building into the vehicle he'd flown off seeing a missile coming down where his Spider-Sense went off and he'd sped up getting between Phantom hawk and the missile calling out through the speakers "STOP, my spider-sense is going off!"
Phantom Hawk had phase through when the missile exploded midair it'd had a green color to the explosion and the force knocked him out of the sky, though thankfully he hadn't been caught in the explosion. The webslinger used Gossamer to fly down and catch Phantom Hawk with a thud but the force of his drop wasn't enough to even damage the windshield and he landed on down onto the ground below.
After opening up the windshield Spider-Man tells Phantom Hawk "The next time I tell you to stop because of my spider-sense, just stop."
The Thanagarian Half-Ghost hybrid let out a groan and moved one of his arms up so that it was pointing upwards while resting on the elbow and says "Noted." before letting his arm drop again.
"Phantom Hawk!" Wonder Woman called out going down to see what was going on exactly before looking accusitory at Spider-Man questioning "What did you do!?"
"Saved me, explain later medical now." Phantom Hawk answered back telling them that Spider-Man saved him and to get him to the med bay.
