"He didn't know who you were," Em explained. "He mentioned that your memories were blocking off his, but I don't think he's made any memories yet."
"That explains the cowlick," Olive said, rubbing it between his hands. "They're actually horns. That explains why Olly and Olivia didn't have any."
Dimentio had been silent the entire time they went to Olive's house.
"If we want answers, we're going to force him back out." Em rubbed his head. "But we don't know how he'd act."
"You WANT to meet him?! I have no control over what he does! It's like you're spectating a match and they're all just t-bagging and you want to leave, but you can't unless the leader kicks you out! He is the leader, and he doesn't want to kick me out! He wants to torture me!"
"That's...very specific, Olive." Em sighed. "But we need to talk to him. Find out what we need to do to get his memories back."
Olive sighed, his gaze going to Dimentio. "He doesn't like Dimentio, I don't think."
"It's fine, we'll use Didi to drag him out."
"Why are we going to my house again?"
"If we're in an enclosed space, it'll make it harder for him to run away."
"I really hope you know what you're doing..."
Although he didn't want to, Olive was tied to a chair for an extra safety precaution. Olive had not torn his gaze away from Dimentio yet.
"Is your name actually Emerald?"
Em nodded. "Yeah, but I mostly just use my nickname. Piper gave it to me and it just kind of grew on me." He looked upset, as if talking about Piper had hurt him as much as it hurt Dimentio.
"How are you planning to drag him out?" Olive grimaced. "I hope you aren't planning on hurting me."
"I want you to think of every possible thing that happened to you. Everything that made you upset, or sad."
Dimentio was staring sadly out a window. Olive couldn't stop staring at him. Dimentio looked so sad, and there was nothing Olive could do about it. What was he thinking about? Was it the Oni? Piper? His mother? Olive wished he could read minds so he could know what Dimentio was sad about.
"I'm a terrible person," Olive said. "I made you really upset back there and it was only because I was mad at you for trying to help in your weird, Dimentio way."
Dimentio looked at him. "Don't be sorry. You were right. Everything was my fault."
"Not everything. You lost your eye again because of me." Olive gave him a sad smile. "You lied to Olly, didn't you? You know how you lost your eye."
Dimentio punched the window and stood. "And so what if I did?! It's not like I'd tell you anything!"
"Why? Talking to Olly made you feel better, why don't you try talking to-?"
"Because you aren't Olly! You were supposed to be a slave for me! You weren't supposed to have feelings! You're a defect, and a freak." He flopped back down and stared out the window again. "Just like me," he muttered softly, Olive and Em unable to hear it.
"A...a freak? Is this because the Oni Sprite thing?!"
"Olive, stop-" Em started.
"I know what I'm doing," Olive whispered.
"Maybe!" Dimentio started shaking with anger, Olive could tell. "You were supposed to be nothing, but you want to be like Olly?! Then why don't you be like him, and leave me alone! At least HE listened! You just get on my nerves like a needy little brat! I never liked you, I never liked any of the Olives I had made! You're just like the rest of them! And just like they did, you're going to end up in the shredder!"
Olive felt that pain again as tears built up in his eyes. "D-do you really mean that? Honestly?"
"And why do you care? You're just using me to drag out that stupid Oni."
"Tell me."
"Fine." Dimentio had calmed down, at least. "You want the truth? Yes, I do see you as worthless; just as you see me as a heartless criminal. I meant everything I had said."
"O-oh..." Olive's voice became shaky.
"Didi, I think you over-did it."
Dimentio crossed his arms and huffed. "So, where is he now?"
"H-he's going to be right here, for good."
"What?"
"If that's how you really see me, then I don't want to come back."
"Olive, wait I-"
"Goodbye, Dimentio."
"Olive!"
A black cloud engulfed Olive, and when it deminished sat the Oni Sprite. He smiled at Dimentio and Em.
"About time. I was starting to think you guys didn't like me here."
