A\N: This oneshot has nothing to do with my sick oneshot series, I just need a break from writing sick oneshots.
I love Tony/Gibbs father/son fanfics. I've done a few of these but because I love the relationship between Tony/Gibbs, so here is another father/son oneshot. Enjoy, Angels.
"You're nothing but a disappointment." NCIS Special Agent Tim says. At that sentence, Tony DiNozzo Junior's, Senior Field Agent, green eyes go dark and narrow and that cause three things to happen: Tim takes a step back when he sees Tony's murderous glare, Ziva picks up one of her many knives and starts sharpening it, and Gibbs stands up from his desk, walks to his two agents and puts his hand on Tony's shoulder to keep him calm and stop him from killing McGee and to keep him from flashing back.
"You think I'm such a disappointment? Well let's see how well you all do without me." Tony hisses before shaking Gibbs' hand off his shoulder and throws his weapon and badge at McGee before he storms out of the bullpen.
It's 0230 and Tony sits on his couch, his 5th bottle of of beer he's taking large gulps out of, staring at the TV, the sentence echoes in his head.
You're nothing but a disappointment.
First the sentence is said by McGee and then it's said by his father, who said it the day after his mother died. He remembers it like it was yesterday.
"You're nothing but a disappointment!" Anthony DiNozzo Senior roars at the eight year old Tony who has hot tears down his face as the elder DiNozzo storms into his sons room. His Mother died yesterday and this is the first sentence his father has said to him and he had been expecting a hug or at least a hand on his shoulder, but all got was this sentence. "Your mother would be ashamed of you." his father snarls as he backhands him. Tony lets out a cry before he looks at his father. His father just scoffs before he walks out of Tony's room.
He wouldn't know this yet, but this sentence would be said to him every day for 5 years by his father.
Tony comes out of the flashback and throws his empty Vodka bottle at the wall. He stumbles to his door and gets a cab to the office. He needs to clean out his desk and write a formal letter of resignation to Director Shepard. He can't work in a place where he's nothing but a disappointment.
It's 0300 when Gibbs walks into the bullpen of MCRT and hears typing coming from a desk. He's been worried about his Senior Field Agent all day ever since McGee said that damn fucking sentence. He wants to kill McGee for saying what he said. He has no idea what that sentence has done to Tony, no idea at all. He doesn't know how the last time it was said, it took him, Abby, Paula and Kate weeks to reverse the effects that it did on Tony. As Tony walked out of the bullpen, only Gibbs saw the hurt and betrayal in his green eyes. It wouldn't surprise him if Tony went to a bar right after he left the office and got smashed before continuing it at home with a girl. But when he sees his SFA sitting at his desk, typing on his computer, absolutely hammered, he's surprised.
"DiNozzo?" The Team Leader says in a soft voice, like he's talking to a scared child who witnessed a murder. He knows he has to be gentle with a drunk Tony, especially when he's heard that sentence. If he's harsh, Tony will never talk to him.
"Tony, do you want to come with me?" Gibbs asks his agent who has stopped typing and now is looking at his Mighty Mouse stapler like it's the most fascinating thing in the world. "Nothing but a disappointment for everyone, Gibbs." Tony slurs, still looking at his stapler. Gibbs growls softly. He really, really wants to kill McGee.
No, you're not, bud." Gibbs says getting Tony to his feet, steadying him when he sways.
"He said that sentence to me everyday for five years." Tony says as the two of them get into the elevator. Gibbs sighs internally.
"I know." The grey-haired man says as the elevator descends to the underground parking lot.
In the basement of his boss' basement sitting on the bottom step, watching his boss.
"Tim and your father were wrong, Tony, you've never been a disappointment." Tony scoffs drunkenly, rolling his eyes. "Sure I'm not." He slurs sarcastically.
"You're not a disappointment, Tone." Gibbs says as he leans against his boat, arms crossed against his chest sternly.
Gibbs watches as his son passes out due to the alcohol he's consumed. He wants to kill Senior then McGee along with a few others that have hurt his boy.
"You're not a disappointment to me, son." The Former Marine Sniper says to his boy in the darkness of his basement.
A\N: I've edited this because of flames. As I said above, this is not affiliated with my sick oneshot series. Enjoy, Angels.
