Reunite
Only a few more miles, Natsu thought as he and Happy made their way back to Magnolia.
"I can't wait to be home," Happy said flying alongside Natsu.
"Me too," the dragon slayer agreed.
Natsu was especially eager to see Juvia again. It would soon be two years since he and Happy went on a mission. A client had specifically requested them to find a magical artifact. Natsu had hesitated to accept. It was a very long mission and he and Juvia had just gotten into a relationship. He was afraid that distance got the better of their relationship. But Juvia reassured him and convinced him to accept.
He remembered the day he had realized his feelings for Juvia. She and Gray had broken up and him and Lucy had realized that they were only friends. Their heartache had brought the dragon slayer and the water mage closer together. They were different, but their differences complemented them. Natsu felt good with her and when they kissed for the first time, he understood that he loved her and that he did not want a life without her.
He had to go on a mission a few weeks later. Fortunately, Happy was with him, otherwise the distance between him and Juvia would have been unbearable. They tried to write and call each other as often as possible. It made him feel like he was with her.
But two years was a long time and while he was eager to see her again, he was also anxious. Would she be happy to see him again ? Was she as eager as he was ? He shook his head violently to chase away all his thoughts. He should not think about that. Everything will be fine, he thought. They finally arrived at Magnolia.
"Finally home !" Happy exclaimed.
Natsu nodded. It's good to be home, he thought. After two years, nothing had changed. Everything was as he had left it and that reassured him.
"Natsu-sama !"
A huge smile lit up Natsu's face when he saw Juvia running towards him. He lost his balance when she threw herself into his arms and they both fell to the ground. Natsu could not help bursting out laughing. He felt rather foolish to worry so much about Juvia's reaction.
"Juvia missed you."
"I missed you too."
Juvia smiled at him and moved her lips closer to his. They kissed and Natsu conveyed all the love he felt for her through that kiss. All he wanted was to make up for the time he had been away from her.
