Your Fault C-2
Three months later,
Loren is busier than ever with interior decorating jobs, she has a waiting list, she scrolls through her phone while she waits for her next appointment.
"He's here Loren, should I send him in?" Mel asks while trying to remain calm.
"Yes please." Loren responds.
The door opens and a young man walks in. "Hello Loren."
Loren's eyes widen at the sight of Eddie Duran standing in front of her desk.
"What are you doing here?" She's upset.
"I'm here to talk about the MK project." Eddie responds.
"What job? I want nothing to do with you!" She yells.
"What's wrong with you?" He questions.
"How dare you come here after what you've done?!" Loren demands.
Eddie furrows his eyes. "What have I done?"
"It's your fault! Cam eloped your cousin Ella!" She yells again.
"Hey, it's not my fault your ex fiancé ran off with my cousin." He is quick to say.
"You brought her here! It's your fault Eddie." Loren adds.
"Wait a minute, first of all you can't blame me, blame Cam, he did this to you, not I." Eddie says. "Let's be professional, you have a contract with my parents to do their MK night club." He says.
Loren is upset holding back tears. "I will try and get some other interior designer to do the job."
"I am sorry you're hurting Loren, but, you have a signed contract with them, they want you to do the job, they aren't in the States, they've asked me to overlook the job."
Mel semi smiles and looks at Loren. "Don't worry Eddie, the job will get done." Loren looks at Mel.
Mel holds her arm and looks towards Eddie. "We will start as stated in the contract."
Eddie looks at Loren. "See you then."
Loren looks at him without smiling. "I'll be there!"
Eddie leaves the room; Loren narrows her eyes. "I hate him!"
"Loren! Why are you upset at him? Hate is a big word; It's not his fault Cam decided to walk away from you, the night the Duran's were there for the walk through of the renovated offices, I saw Cam and Ella flirting, I didn't say anything because I never thought he'd walk out on you."
Loren sits and finally lets the tears flow. "I thought he loved me, why couldn't he come clean with me in person instead of sending that note to Paris?"
"I know Loren, I am sorry, you didn't deserve that." Mel states.
"Thanks Mel, I don't know what I'd do without you." Loren sighs.
"Come on, let's get ready for our new job at MK, don't forget Katy has increased your business, she has been sending you more cliental." Mel adds.
"I know, I've been very busy and I might not be able to take on any more jobs." Loren adds.
Loren begins the renovation of MK, she makes changes to Max and Katy's offices, and the stage area. Eddie walks in a few times a week to check on the project. When Loren sees him she walks away to avoid any type of confrontation with him, but, Eddie purposely walks into whatever room she is working in. Mel notices and sighs, she knows Eddie loves getting on Loren's nerves.
"I don't like that color." He is quick to say.
Loren furrows her eyes on him. "Why not? That is the color Katy agreed on."
"I don't know; it seems too dark for this room." Eddie adds while walking around the room.
Loren places her hands on her hips. "Listen, Katy hired me and she and I have been working on this project, I'd appreciate if you'd leave me alone so I can finish."
"I will talk to my mother and see if we can change the color." Eddie adds teasingly.
"We're almost done Eddie Duran, don 't you dare try and change our plans!" She says loud enough.
Eddie walks towards the door. "Well, let me talk to her about it!" He steps out.
Loren is furious. "Ugh, how dare he? I can't stand him!"
Eddie runs into Mel who's been standing by the door listening to the two go back and forth.
"Why are you making things difficult for Loren?" Mel wonders.
"I don't know; it seems to be the right thing to do." He smirks.
Mel sighs. "Please stop Eddie, she is having a hard time with the mess Cam created."
"She's taking her anger out of me! It's not my fault my cousin caught Cam's attention, why blame me?" Eddie asks.
"Like I said, she is having a hard time, she loved Cam very much, she thought he loved her too, don't make things harder on her." Mel pleads, her phone rings and she takes a few steps towards the door.
Eddie looks towards the room where Loren has been working and notices she's crying. He walks inside.
"Hey, you ok?" Eddie questions.
Loren looks towards him; her eyes full of tears that stream down her cheeks non-stop.
"Leave me alone Eddie, you've accomplished what you set out to do." She says.
Eddie can tell she's hurting. "Listen, I'm sorry, you have to stop taking it out on me, I promise not to upset you anymore." Eddie says.
"No one understands how painful this is, I thought Cam loved me, our wedding was being held in my favorite place. We were supposed to live happily ever after, have children, grow old together surrounded by our children and later our grandchildren." She looks towards Eddie. "He walked away without an explanation, how could he fall out of love so fast?" She sighs. "I know the answer and it's hard to accept, he never loved me, you don't hurt the one you love and walk away like he did." She adds with tears in her eyes.
Eddie walks closer to her. "I'm sorry Loren, I will leave you alone, it stops today, I know you will find your true love one day, the one meant for you, and he will love you like you deserve to be loved." He looks her in the eyes.
Loren sighs. "I'm sorry for taking it out on you, this wasn't your fault, see you tomorrow."
She walks away, he watches her until she disappears from his sight. He will try and be a friend to Loren, his phone vibrates, it's a text from Jake his manager, his new schedule is ready.
