Birth of an Unknown Hero

(A/N You can skip this part if you would like. I just changed a couple things for future events.)

It was a beautiful day in the leaf village. Birds were singing, kids were playing, adults were drinking. Overall it was just a great day. But even great days can have a sense of oddness to them. To a Shinobi, it was too good of a day.

"Lord Third, do you feel that something is off?" Hiruzen took the pipe out of his mouth. "What do you mean Minato?" The fourth shook his head. "I don't know, Its just an ominous feeling. I thought you of all people would feel it as well." The third gave a slight smile. "I'm to old to be worrying about things like that. I'm still a trained Shinobi though, so I'll let you know if I see anything."

They both went silent as Minato continued to file through his large stack of paperwork. Hours past as it soon became dark and cold. As it usually did in October. Minato flashed home, he opened the door and was surprised to be able to sense his pregnant wife. "Kushina?" She waved with her spatula. "Hey Minato! I'm almost done with dinner." Minato smiled and walked over to her.

"I thought I told you to take it easy? And aren't you supposed to be at the cave by now?" He held her enlarged stomach and looked over her shoulder. She gave him a sweet smile and responded. "And I thought I told you to quit being such a worrywart. Besides I wanted to teach little Naruto how to cook." Minato looked at her with a confused look.

"You know he's in your stomach right?" Kushina giggled and turned off the eye. " I know, but maybe he'll somehow learn something." She smiled and took off her apron. "But yeah, your right it is time to go. Can you teleport us over there?" Minato nodded and grabbed her by her waist. Within not even a second, they both appeared inside the Delivery room.

As if timed perfectly, Kushina started groaning in pain. Biwako, the head obstetrician, quickly ran over to her and started to help her walk to the bed, which was already set up. Minato spaced out and froze. "Minato. Quit spacing out and get your hands on this seal. Tch, men." She commanded, and then grumbled. Minto shook himself out of it and ran next Kushina.

"Your going to be okay. Just let me keep this beast in." He said as he put his hands on the seal. Kushina continued to groan. After an hour, the time had finally come. "Wahhhhhhh." Baby Naruto whimpered. Biwako rapped him up and handed him to Kushina. "Naruto..." She said weakly. She was sweating profusely and was clearly tired. She held him close for a second before handing him back to Biwako.

"10:38 Pm, October 10th." Biwako whispered to her assistant.

Outside the Cave.

A man in an orange mask had his hand on a dead Anbu's neck. He then suddenly disappeared in a vortex. The orange masked man then materialized again. This time inside the delivery room. He quickly killed the assistant and head doctor. To his surprise a baby was in her hands. 'Seems I'm a little late.' He grabbed it out of mid air and put a Kunai to its throat.

"Step away from the Jinchuriki." The man said. Minato glared at the man. 'How the hell did he get past the Barrier?' He questioned himself. "Hey, just stay calm!" Minato told the man. "Speak for yourself Minato. I'm as calm as can be." The man raised his head up. 'No. He can't be..' Minato thought.

"Now again I tell you. Step away from the Jinchuriki. Don't you care what happens to the brat?" The man asked as he threw the child up in the air.

"Naruto!" Kushina yelled. Minato quickly flashed to his new born son. He grabbed him out of mid air and threw his blanket off of him. 'When did he put the explosive tag on?' The explosive tagged blanket exploded and Minato flashed to a different location. He slid into the grassland area outside of the destroyed building. 'Damn. Thank goodness Naruto wasn't injured.' he thought internally. There was a piece of wood indulged in his foreleg.

Minto pulled it out quickly, and threw it away. 'He forced me to use the Flying Raijin. His target was Kushina. He was trying to separate us.' He thought before flashing away. 'Gotta move fast.'

Kushina's entire body was inscribed in seals. Some even launching themselves out of her wrist and ankles, forming chain like restrictions, tied to large boulders around her. "Why are you doing this?" She asked weakly. "I'm going to extract the Nine-Tails from you and destroy the Hidden Leaf." Kushina flinched slightly. "The Nine-Tails seal is weakened due to child birth. Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting for this moment?"

"Be safe here Naruto. And please be patient okay. I have to go rescue your mother right now." Minato put the comforter over Naruto.

Kushina looked on with extreme fear. Not for her own sake, but for everyone else inside the village. The Nine-Tails however, growled in frustration. 'Its you...' he thought. The masked man stared into Kushina's soul. The Nine-Tails eye moved into a a strange shape. Three smaller dots on the outside and one large one in the middle.

The chains restricting him melted and the poles indulged in certain parts of his body fell out. He threw them away and gave a loud roar. On the outside, Kushina was in the three tailed cloak. The seal on her stomach began to open. "Now then. Come on out... NINE TAILS!" The mask man commanded. Red chakra eluded itself from Kushina's stomach, soon forming the head of the Nine-Tails.

And from the head came his neck and then his chess, along with his torso. And after that his Nine extravagant Tails. As he landed on his feet he gave a loud roar. All the Nine-Tails chakra dissipated in to thin air as Kushina's body went limp. "Good. Now we'll head to the Hidden Leaf Village." The man said as he started walking. "More hate..." Kushina mumbled as she stood up slightly.

"You Uzumaki are just amazing. You don't die right away when a tailed beast is extracted from you." The Nine-Tails body moved reluctantly as it turned towards Kushina. "You were the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. I'll let you die by his hand." The Nine-Tails raised its hand and smashed it into the rock Kushina was laying on. "Your as quick as they say. Fourth Hokage Minato."

Minato was holding Kushina bridal style on the top of a near by tree. He growled slightly and proceeded to teleport back to his home. Minato landed on the ground and walked over to Naruto's crib. He set Kushina inside. "Be here with Naruto." Kushina softly caressed Naruto's head. "Naruto" She said tiredly. Minato threw on his Haroi and gave a Badass remark. "I'll be back... In a flash."

In The Hidden Leaf

A masked man walked the streets of the village. He was searching for the perfect spot to 'Release the Beast'. He eventually found his spot and ran through some Handsigns. He slapped his hand on the ground and a sealing array appeared. Many people on the street look at him with confusion. Within a split second the Nine-Tails appeared and gave another roar. (Seriously. it was so repetitive in the flashback.) "Its-its-its the Nine-Tails!" A Civilian screamed in fear.

It began to ravage the village. Debris of all kinds went flying as the Nine-Tails smashed the first building. Then it smashed another one. More dead bodies and debris flew through the air. It continued this procedure until it spotted a man in the distance. The Nine-Tails growled and showed its teeth. It started forming a strange purple ball.

After it was at least a eigth of the moon, the Nine-Tails fired it away.

Minato stood on top of his head on the Hokage monument. He was thinking thoroughly. 'Obviously I'm going to have to seal him away again. But I can't do it near the public eye. Civilians are never discrete about those sort of things. Ah I know where.' Minato's gaze moved toward the large purple object approaching his direction. 'I remember you. I used you to create the Rasengan.' Minato flew through Handsigns. 'Flying Rajinn: Absorption Barrier Jutsu!'

A sealing array appeared and caught the Tailed-Beast ball. It submerged into the seal and teleported away. In the distance, a large, ball shaped flash of light, nearly blinded the blond Hokage. 'So its that strong? If I survive this I'm going to have to make the Rasengan stronger.' Minato turned to walk away, but slowly felt his body being sucked into something.

'You..' Minato turned quickly to strike his not-so-new opponent. He tried to slash his Tri-pronged kunai into him. Unfortunately, It went straight through him. Not a scratch on his face. 'They definitely didn't teach this about you in the academy.' Minato thought dryly. He flashed to an unknown location outside of Konoha. The masked man materialized before him. 'This guy is persistent. He reminds me of someone.' he thought.

Minato quickly flashed behind the man, and wasn't surprised at all. He tried to stab the man in the back, but he went straight through him. The man tried to detain Minato with his chains, but he quickly flashed out of it. 'I'm going to have to lure him into hardening himself to actually have a chance to strike him.' Minato stood up and started running at the man.

He threw a Tri-Pronged kunai and it phased right through the man. 'I win.' Unfortunately for him, no he did not win. Minato flashed to the kunai and slammed a Rasengan into the man's back. He also left a Flying Thunder God imprint on him. The impact from the jutsu created a large crater that caused both of them to retreat to opposing sides.

Minato flashed and stabbed the man, then he separated the contract seal between him and the tailed beast. The masked man clutched his arm and hunched over his back. "You live up to your title Fourth Hokage Minato, but he will be mine one day. I shall rule this world. There are plenty of ways to do it." With that he teleported away.

"There is no way that was actually Madara Uchiha. He was to easy to figure out." Minato teleported away to his previous spot on the Hokage monument. He flew through Handsigns, and cut his hand with his teeth. Minato kept his bleeding finger on his other hand as he started running. 'Why didn't I think of this earlier?' He thought.

He was referring to his idea to keep his blood on his hand. It was supposed to allow him to still have the summoning jutsu active just not truly activated. He teleported multiple times until he was near the Nine-Tails. He jumped up at it and swiped his bleeding finger across its fur. A falling toad appeared in the sky. He landed on the Nine-Tails and looked around.

"Jiraiya? Minato? What the hell did I tell you about summoning me without warning?" Minato cringed slightly and responded. "Sorry it was on such short notice Gamabunta. I need you to keep this beast busy while I grab my son." Minato flashed away quickly before the Toad could respond. "You know I can't stop this- Damn it."

"Guess its just me and you old friend."

In the Namikaze house.

Minato landed in the living room and rushed to what would have been Naruto's room. He probably wouldn't be living here for his own safety. He grabbed both the blond and the red head and teleported to the spot he had thought of earlier. He summoned a tiny bed and sat Naruto on there. He teleported back to Gamabunta. The Toad and the Fox were throwing hands.

Literally. They were fighting like thugs, neither being able to gain the upper hand on one another. "Bunta! I can take it from here thank you." Gamabunta jumped back and gave a stern look at Minato. "Just when it was getting fun. Warn me next time!" The toad sheathed his sword and left in a poof of smoke. Minato jumped at the Nine-Tails and teleported it to where Naruto and Kushina were.

"I'll need to erect a barrier now." He thought out loud. Kushina's chains shot out of her back and erected a large barrier that strangled the Nine-Tails. It then created another layer of protection that you couldn't get in or out of. "Seal it back into me Minato. I will take it to my death." Kushina said weakly.

Minato shook his head. "Sorry, you know I can't do that. It would break the balance between the five great nations." Kushina started crying slightly. "Its better than having our kid be hated by those civilians!" Minato sighed and began weaving Handsigns. "Taking away the Nine-Tails would only make the other villages want to attack us more. Thus putting Naruto in danger. And besides, I think one day he will be able to control this power." Kushina put her hands to her face.

She wiped her tears away and waited for Minato to finish his jutsu. "Shiki Fujin! (Dead Demon Consuming seal)." The Shinigami appeared behind Minato. He had white hair, purple skin, red horns, and a white shaggy Haroi. "What do you want from me mortal?" The death god asked impatiently. "I need you to help me seal away my son, Naruto."

The god thought for a second and look at Naruto. "Naruto you say?" The death god asked. He forced his hand through Minato's stomach and began sucking the chakra out of the Nine-Tails. The Nine-Tails grew smaller and started trying to fight its way out of the chains. It finally broke them and went to stab Naruto.

Minato and Kushina jumped in the way, forcing the Nine-Tail's nail to stop a foot from Naruto's face. The Shinigami sucked the rest of the Nine-Tails chakra and Minato started to seal it away. He finished another set of Handsigns and lightly put a seal on Naruto's stomach. Minato's conscious started to slip away from him.

He fortunately had enough strength to pull out a large scroll from his Flak jacket. He created a storage seal on Naruto's arm and sealed the scroll in there. He slowly started to close his eyes excepting death. But no, he wasn't dead. Not yet.

"I'm going to do you a favor mortal." Minato's face lit up. "Your going to let me live?" The Shinigami started laughing uncontrollably. "Hell No! You decided to use this jutsu when I'm sure there are plenty of others you could have used." Minato's face lost its smile as he looked at the back of his almost dead wife. "But, seeing as he has already chosen, I might as well give him his."

Minato coughed and look at the Shinigami with a confuse expression. "What are you *cough* talking about?" The Shinigami looked at Minato blankly. "You know about the Sage of The Six Paths, correct?" Minato gave a nod and coughed. "Then you should know the tale about his two children, right?" Minato's interest was piqued as he gave another cough.

The Shinigami told Minato the entire story of Ashura and Indra. Of course, in a shortened version. "So my son is the Reincarnation of Ashura?" Minato asked continuing to cough. "Yes. So now, as I've done with all the other Incarnations, I will put Ashura's soul into him." The Shinigami put his hand on Naruto's seal. "What do you mean? Are both of them going to have control over Naruto's body?" Minato asked skeptically.

The Death God groaned. "Of course not. Its more like Ashura's a voice in his head. He can never have control over Naruto's body, because his own body is deceased. I'll put it like this, because the Nine-Tail's is simply a being of chakra, manifesting a body is easy. It uses it like a transformation. While, Ashura on the other hand is only a soul with no chakra. See my point?"

Minato nodded and things went silent for a good moment. "So are you going to take my soul or what?" "Oh yeah forgot about that."

Outside the barrier.

"Lord third, who is he talking to?" An Anbu asked. "I'm not sure Toad. But I can only presume its the Shinigami." The Anbu took a step back. "That can only mean..." Hiruzen dropped his head. "He will die in a matter of seconds." Hiruzen finished for him.

Seconds it was as the barrier dropped and Minato's body went limp. Naruto started wailing uncontrollably. Hiruzen rushed over and picked up the new born baby. "Naruto, was it?" Hiruzen asked as the baby stopped crying. "I'm not sure what I'll do with you." Naruto slowly fell asleep.

One Day later.

Hiruzen sat infront of the entire Shinobi Council and Daimyo. He had reassumed the position as Hokage until he could find a better suiter. Chatter was evident as a lot of the Clan leaders caught up. "Alright everyone lets being the meeting." Everyone pointed their attention towards Hiruzen. "I think we should start with casualties first. Uchiha?"

Fugaku, the leader of the clan sat up slightly. "None, since we weren't even deployed." Hiruzen raised an eyebrow. "Who stopped you? I ordered every Shinobi to the battle field." Fugaku closed his eyes for a moment. "Danzo did. He sent us to the border to, 'Stop an enemy invasion.' "

Hiruzen turned to Danzo. "Is this true Danzo? You of all people should know that giving a false order during an attack can result is some dire consequences." Danzo smirked. "Yes its true. We all saw the Sharingan in the Nine-Tail's eye. They couldn't be trusted." The Daimyo gasped. Fugaku growled. Hiruzen clinched his teeth.

"And so you assumed that they were the culprit? Hell, you didn't even ask me for permission." Danzo's lost his smirk as Hiruzen reprimanded him. Hiruzen sighed as he moved on. He would deal with Danzo later. "Alright then, Nara?" Shikaku turned to Hiruzen. "Fifteen Shinobi and twenty civilians." Hiruzen nodded.

He then went through each and every clan. The numbers weren't high considering where the Nine-Tails appeared. It appeared on the tourist/Plaza and mall area of the village, which is mostly in the front. At the back, where the Hokage Monument is and everything surrounding it, is where all the Shinobi Clans compounds are located. The Yamananka, Aikmichi, and Nara Clans are more close together because of their alliance.

The Uchiha, Inuzuka, Aburame, Hyuuga, Hatake, Shimura and Sarutobi also lived up in that area. Of course, not in the same type of proximity that the Yamananka, Akimichi and Nara have. Then the civilians are in the middle. But no one cares about them.

Danzo stood up from his seat once Hiruzen finished. "I have a proposition." The Daimyo raised an eyebrow as he allowed Danzo to continue. "I belive that moving the Uchiha to the far east side of the village is the best course of action." Danzo pointed his pointer at a large area that no one had ever touched. Hiruzen intruded. "That area is reserved for a specific clan."

Danzo questioned the elderly Hokage. "For what clan? I have never heard about this." Hiruzen sighed as who stood up. "Because it was none of your business Danzo. It was, or pardon me, is a reserved area for a clan Lord Tobirama had planned to implement into the village many years ago." Danzo grit his teeth.

"You dodged my question. What clan is it?" Hiruzen sat back down. "Its not my place to tell you. And even if I could, I wouldn't." Danzo still wanted an answer, but he moved on. The Daimyo waved his fan in his face. "So Hiruzen, tell me. What will you do to find the culprit for this attack?" Hiruzen rubbed his eyes.

"I've already looked everywhere I could think of for the last twenty-four hours. Hell, I've had every officer and Anbu on the case while this meeting was happening." All of the clan heads in the room dropped their heads. All of them where good friends of Minato's and finding his killer would bring all of them great joy.

Danzo decided to speak up again. "What of the Nine-Tails? We all know the Fourth couldn't kill it." Now that made everything interesting. 'Always trying to stir the pot, Danzo.' Shikaku thought. Hiruzen turned to Danzo once again. "I'm sure that's none of your concern." Danzo shot a glare at him. "Oh, but I believe its my business. After all that is our greatest weapon." The Daimyo interrupted.

Hiruzen was now backed into a political corner. He didn't want to say anything regarding Naruto, but lying to the Daimyo would do him no good. The Daimyo could very well kick all of Konoha and its people to the curb and out of the Fire Country. Obviously he wouldn't do that. Kicking out the Fire Country's only prestige military power would result in countless threats from other countries trying to expand their borders.

'But what do I do? Telling Danzo about Naruto would basically be giving him a free Jinchuriki. He would undoubtedly try to manipulate Naruto into joining his root organization. Which speaking of, I need to disband immediately.' The Third thought. "He's an orphan who was close by when Minato had to seal the Nine-Tails away." The Daimyo raised an eyebrow, but let it slide.

The Daimyo stood up getting ready to leave. "I see to it that this meeting is adjourned. You may take your leave." Everyone thanked him for showing up as he left the building.

Filler.

But why would Hiruzen lie? You might ask. Let me teach you about a little thing called negotiation tactics. Just about all the leaders in the world have this tactic in their bag. (Along with multiple nuclear weapons.) When trying to get something you want, what's the first thing you do? You sugar up the target.

You do things that you don't normally do. Maybe its buying your girl some flowers, or getting your dad some tools from Home-Depot. Whatever it is when you fail, you resort to negotiating. Personally, I like to get some dirt on my target. Typically its something they would only tell their best friend. But when I was a kid I used to fall back on the 'Remember that time when I-' one. Its the most inefficient way to negotiate.

If the target is someone close to you, then they will likely have also done something for you in the past. If the target isn't close to you, they will bat that one away like a fly. Usually with a, 'I don't remember you doing that.' or a 'but that was so long ago'. Hence why I get dirt on them. The more dirt I get, the more likely-hood of me getting what I want. And if I seem to have an extreme upper hand, then I pursue for more than what I had originally asked for.

But be careful. Pursuing for more can cause the target to back out. Regardless of how much dirt you have on them.

"But this only applies in everyday life." To a degree, but sometimes it can be your bestfriend. Say one side went to war and their friend back them up. Well, once side one's war is done, side two decides that it wants to go to war. Only thing is their going to need some back up. This is the only time I recommend using, 'Remember that time when I-' because of its strategic advantage.

Side two helped out side one in there time of need, so now side one must return the favor or they are likely to be invaded by one of their neighbors. And your threat is now, 'Well if you don't help me than I'll leave you stranded by yourself with no one to protect you.'

See my point?

This is why World Leaders always have a smart mouth. (Along with a zipper attached.)

Six Full Years Later.

(I apologize advance for the scene that takes place after this message. I couldn't think of anything else that would make sense for the situation.)

Orphans. They are people whose parents are dead and have no blood relatives to take care of them. Usually in society, we look at them with pity for their misfortune. Sometimes we even go and help them out by adopting them.

But for Naruto Uzumaki, pity was foreign to him. Who would pity a child that was accused of destroying almost half of a Shinobi village? Hell, who would want to adopt a child that could lash out and kill you at any moment? Certainly not me and I know that you wouldn't either. So what's an Orphan to do?

I'll tell you what, they would latch on like a leach to anyone who'd give them the slightest bit of kindness. But the amount of people that showed kindness to Naruto could be counted on three fingers. For Naruto, those people were Hiruzen Sarutobi, Ayame of the Holy Ramen Palace, And Tuechi, the owner of the Holy Ramen Palace.

But when your public enemy number one, and never guarded by anyone and you can't defend yourself; Violence is attracted to you like a magnet. And that is what's happening to Naruto right now.

He was being chased by a mob of villagers. Naruto took every end, turn and twist he knew of to avoid them. Even going as far as to run through entire buildings to escape the brutal beating he would soon receive. But inevitably he was caught in a dead-end. With no one to protect him, and nothing to protect himself with, you already know what went down.

Once the villagers had stopped, Naruto was left in a bloody pulp. He had a black eye, a broken nose, a concussion, multiple scars, the most visible one being vertically across his right eye. His eye wasn't cut, but merely the skin protecting it. It would probably bring a badass scar later, but for right now Naruto was passed out.

'On my own birthday? Kami really must be out to get me. Then again, its been happening ever since I got kicked out of the orphanage last year.' Naruto got up off the ground inside a strange sewer. 'What is this place?' He thought to himself.

"Your Mindscape Naruto." A voice said. Naruto looked around anxiously. "Where are you?" Naruto demanded. A man appeared in front of him. "Right here."

Naruto turned to the man.

"Who are you?"
