Chapter 14: Confronting the Past

"My, my. the gang's all here. Thought you could hide from us by playing hero with your friends over there? Well it seems for you, time has run out and so has your luck." Sierra's voice grew serious.

"How the hell did you know I was at Beacon? There was no way you could have figured it out." Sebastian grew angry with Sierra, who just stood there and smiled.

"I like to keep myself informed really. I mean it was easy considering our little insiders we got all around Remnant. But why Beacon of all places to go and run off to? Thought you could start off new and play it safe?" She bent forward a little and her expression became more smug, as if to taunt Sebastian.

"That's…" Sebastian retained the anger in his voice but couldn't even finish talking before Sierra cut him off.

"Or maybe you just needed a place to lay low until we stopped caring about you?"

"No… th-that… isn't…" The anger in his voice died down, being replaced by hesitation.

"You never really cared about becoming a protector of the people did you? A new start was just an excuse you told them isn't it? I mean come on! You couldn't even tell them about the history we share!"

"Sebastian. What is she talking about?" Cyrus looked at Sebastian in worry.

"Yes, Sebastian. What is wrong? Cat got your tongue?" Sierra laughed right at Sebastian. "Are you thinking of a nice little comeback or are you too afraid to admit I'm right?"

"You're… you're wrong. I-I came to Beacon because...because…" Sebastian began to break down in front of his teammates. He was unable to even get out any full sentences.

"Because you needed a place to hide from us. Somewhere we couldn't get you. Always looking for a place to run to. A place we can't get you. Hiding from your mistakes. Your failures. Your… regrets." Her voice made Sebastian panic even more. "It didn't matter if you had to put up with other people, or train to become a huntsman. Once you knew you were safe you would have left Beacon. I know you would. You can't hide from the truth anymore, poor little Sebastian. For I am the truth."

"Sh-shut up. You're… you're lying." Sebastian placed his hand over his face to cover up the fear that was plastered all over him.

"Am I, Sebastian? Am I?"

"Th-that isn't… no… wr-wrong… you have to be- be wrong." Sebastian was shaking like mad, unable to even think clearly, his head spinning

"Sebastian!" Cyrus yelled at him but it had no effect.

"Dude get a hold of yourself!" Damien too tried, but to no avail.

"It's clear he lied to you three." Sierra turned her attention to the rest of Team CSRD. "Why try to snap him out of it? It looks like the truth broke him already."

"He's our teammate, and our friend. That's why." Axel stepped up to oppose Sierra's comments.

"Really?" The White Fang girl was surprised to see them be so protective of Sebastian. "You all care about him so much that you'd stand by him even though he not only lied to you about his reasons for being at Beacon but failed to even mention me, let alone mention his heinous crimes? You three are out of your minds." She paused for a second and looked back to the darkness for a moment and then looked back at Team CSRD. "No matter. I bought enough time for the prototype to be fully activated."

Another figure emerged and following that one, about two dozen more followed.

"Finally done breaking down the piece of trash?" It was Noir whose voice spoke. "Because I'm more than ready to get some well earned payback on two of these pests." Around Noir was some mechanical device that was attached to him, from the arms and chest, to his back. He adjusted it slightly and looked towards Damien. "That one especially."

"So what if you got some weird device on you? I can take you down solo easily."

"With these White Fang members at my-." He looked at Sierra who was displeased. "Our side, you won't stand a chance. Besides, right now you look to be down a member." He tilted his head towards Sebastian, who still looked shaken up.

"Ah poor little kitty lost his way?" Sierra reengaged the verbal beatdown with Sebastian. "He can't even find himself a proper place to call home anymore. His original home would never want him back either." Sebastian snapped out of it and his eyes grew fierce. He knew what she was about to say next and so did his fellow teammates.

"Sebastian, don't listen to her," Cyrus warned. But it was already far too late for a warning.

"I wonder how his parents would react when they found out about what you did that night? Of what became of you. Makes me think that they'd see you as disgrace. Or rather that they're a disgrace for not being able to raise you properly. I mean who could actually care about someone who's just a monster!" She yelled directly at Sebastian, who stood up and looked dead in her eyes, rage and hatred filling his own.

"SIERRA!" It was at this moment Sebastian lost all sense of control. A kind of feral instinct washed over him and nothing could stop him now. "I'm going to beat your ass to a pulp, YOU SONOFABITCH!" Without thought or hesitation, Sebastian launched himself straight at Sierra on all fours, Sierra leaping back into the dark construction zone.

"Follow me, kitty cat! Chase me down to the very ends of Remnant itself!" The two disappeared from line of sight and all that was left was Noir and the three remaining members of Team CSRD.

"Well, she certainly worked her magic there, now didn't she? Guess that means I'll just have to take care of you three myself." Noir focused himself on the three Beacon students in front of him.

Damien cracked his knuckles, getting ready for a fight. "I'd say you get the short end of the stick, Noir. I don't think you even stand a remote of a chance against the three of us."

Cyrus, Axel, and Damien all got themselves ready while Noir just stood there looking as relaxed as ever.

"I guess we'll just have to see about that now, won't we?" He sped right up to Damien who was trying to get his semblance to work, and instead got roundhouse kicked and knocked to the ground. He focused on Axel next and charged right at him, Axel going to shock Noir, but nothing happened, getting uppercutted in return and sent flying upwards and crashing down onto the pavement. Noir looked to Cyrus who used the controlled spread to get a clear shot at Noir but Noir simply sped around it and Cyrus went for a barrier to protect himself but the barrier didn't appear. Noir struck Cyrus with a series of blows and finished with a strong right hook. Cyrus rolled across the ground, coming to a stop by hitting a stack of boxes nearby. Damien recovered and shook himself off.

"What the hell was that? It's like I couldn't use my semblance at all!"

Noir walked towards Damien laughing. "That's just it. You can't use your semblance. This device uses a ton of dust to power itself and in return, it shuts down all nearby semblances and renders them completely useless. Of course I still get to keep mine since I'm wearing it."

"That's playing real cheap Noir!"

"Playing cheap is what I do, Damien." Noir snapped his fingers and the White Fang members who were standing by, all mobilized and surrounded the team.

"Now then. I'd like to keep this fight short if you all don't mind. I have somewhere important to be tomorrow morning and I'd like to be able to get my beauty sleep."

Axel gritted his teeth in frustration, and spun his staff, transforming it into a rifle. He fired at Noir, who tried to roll out of the way, but the shot grazed him in the shoulder. Noir flinched in pain and glared at him.

"You can take our semblances. We don't need them to beat your sorry ass, you STOOGE." Axel mocked.

Noir charged at him at full speed, enraged, and began punching him in the midsection repeatedly at super speed, then finishing up with a powerful uppercut that sent Axel flying backward. He hit the ground and rolled a few times before sliding to a stop about forty yards away. He just layed there, groaning as he rolled over and sat up.

Seeing this, Damien decided to go on the offensive. He started barreling toward Noir, his sword readying to strike. He brought the sword down with all his might, but Noir simply dodged to the side, and countered with a powerful left cross followed by a roundhouse kick to Damiens sternum. Damien was knocked backward, the wind knocked out of him. He dropped to one knee to get it back. Noir just paced back and forth, laughing.

Meanwhile, Axel crawled to his feet and ran over to Cyrus.

"Any bright ideas, O fearless leader of ours?" Axel grunted, frustrated.

"Well, He's too fast for any of us to handle him one-on-one without our semblances."

Damen staggered himself upright

"Gee, you think?" He said sarcastically. Cyrus stood there, his teeth grinding with frustration while Noir just kept pacing slowly. Suddenly, his eyes flashed, and his face calmed. He had an idea..

Cyrus pointed to Axel.

"You're pretty fast, right?"

Axel looked at Cyrus, slightly offended.

"For someone who controls freaking lightning, I'd like to think so."

"Good, because I need you to stay with him and keep him swinging at you for as long as you can."

"You got it." Axel said, taking off toward Noir. He stopped a few yards away from him, and smirked.

"Hey, Jackson! It's kinda sad you have to rely on Sierra and her dust machine to fight a few kids, don't you think?" Axel taunted, "I mean I know Damien and Sebastian beat the piss out of you before, but this is a little overkill." Noir growled with rage, and charged after Axel, who started running around sporadically, dodging attacks and hurdling construction equipment.

The remaining two looked at each other, nodded, and ran in opposite arcs from one another, converging on Noir. Cyrus provided covering fire while Damien slid, tripping Noir up and causing him to stumble into a stack of pallets, which fell directly on top of him. Axel jogged back to the others, panting loudly.

"WHOO! I haven't run that hard without help from my semblance in a while," he said, shaking with adrenaline, "I almost forgot how exhausting it can be." Cyrus gasped.

"Axel, that's it!"

"What is what?"
"That suit runs on a metric crap ton of dust, and has to be a lot heavier than our stuff, which is why you were able to evade him for so long, despite him having his semblance."

"Yeah, and?" Axel asked.

Damien began to catch on.

"AND he can't burn up his aura using his semblance in that thing forever. Meaning, he'll have to slow down eventually."

Suddenly, the pile of pallets exploded into the air in a massive fireball. Noir had come to, and used some of the dust from his suit to clear the debris on top of him. He picked himself up, and brushed himself off. He looked around, a grimace plastered across his face.

"What are you all standing there for? Are you waiting for a written invitation?! Kill these brats already!" He yelled, and dozens of White Fang members appeared from the shadows, and formed up around Noir. He raised his hand and closed it into a fist, signaling for them to attack.

While the trio fought off Noir and his goons, Sebastian had his own problem to deal with. They had moved all the way over to the main construction site, battling between the in-progress building, which only consisted of the steel beams that laid out its structure. Sebastian was lashing out at Sierra but she dodged all of his attacks swiftly, hopping around to keep Sebastian on his feet.

"Stay still so I can get you good!" Sebastian went for a wild punch, but Sierra grabbed his arm.

"What's the matter Sebastian?" she questioned, reeling him in by the arm. "You seem to be SLOPPY!" She drove her knee into Sebastian's stomach, her leg armor bashing against Sebastian's uncovered section. He bent over and groaned in pain, saliva spitting out from his mouth. Sierra clenched her right hand into a fist and crashed it into Sebastian's face, following through and causing him to be sent flying to the ground.

"You aren't fighting me all the way Sebastian. What ever happened to that? The last few times we've met, all you've done is run away, not even bothering to fight back, save a tree falling on us here and there. You used to be so much more violent." She sounded happy to say that, as if she wanted to remind him of his painful memories.

Sebastian got up, breathing heavily from the last blow dealt to him. "I'm not like that anymore. I told myself I wouldn't do something like that again."

"Which has made you weak." Sierra charged forward, throwing out a punch that Sebastian blocked with his gauntlet. She pushed down hard on it, forcing Sebastian's arm back and Sierra wasted no time in dealing him numerous blows that ended in a grounded axe kick. Sebastian hit the ground hard, the wind being knocked out of him.

"I'm disappointed, you know. When I found you here, I was expecting a whole lot more from you. But it seems all I got was a shell of your former self. It's a shame really." She walked up to Sebastian, who was now on his knees. She kicked him right in the face and he fell backwards.

"I didn't want to have to kill you Sebastian, I really didn't. But after everything you did, I decided that maybe killing you would be the right choice. Besides, bringing you in just wouldn't do it for me any longer." She sighed, and pulled out her tonfa's that were attached to the side of her pants. She gripped them tightly and pointed the flat end directly at Sebastian, the flat end opening up revealing small gun holes. Small triggers on the handles popped out and she pressed them, bullets being shot out. Sebastian reacted at the last second and moved the bullets out of the way using his semblance.

"Oh actually trying now are we?" Sierra clapped at Sebastian's attempt to fight back. "Maybe there is some fight in you after all!" She swung her weapon at Sebastian, but he rolled back on the ground and sprung to his feet to avoid her series of attacks.

"Shut up." Sebastian looked dead serious, his entire demeanor changed in an instant.

"You're telling me to shut up? Then, you'll have to make me!" She taunted him with a wicked smile.

"Fine then. I'll give you more than you bargained for, you White Fang scum!"

The two clashed, Sebastian locking his fists against Sierra's tonfas, a struggle of power emerging. Sebastian grabbed hold of the weapons and threw them downwards, Sierra stumbling forward. Sebastian yanked her shirt, pulling her closer and he threw a straight punch into her gut. He released her, and amidst Sierra being momentarily stunned, he swept her legs and spun around kicking his leg straight forward into Sierra launching her backwards.

"Who said you could be away from me?" He reached out his hand and pulled it back into a fist, Sierra being dragged up close and personal with Sebastian once more. He punched her in the chest, then the face again and again until he slammed one leg into her chest and then launched his other leg into her face, sending her flying upwards. He then jumped up high and flipped himself, landing a mid-air axe kick that sent Sierra crashing into the ground.

"I think we're done here." Sebastian turned around, only to be met with bullets from behind which he turned around to face and stopped with his semblance. He dropped them down to the ground.

"Not yet Sebastian. I'm not done until your face is down in the dirt!" She leapt at him, striking his gauntlets with her tonfas and spun them around hitting the back side. She continued to spin them around to repeatedly bash Sebastian's gauntlets to break his guard. She also used both the short end and long ends of the tonfas, to strike at Sebastian's openings, wearing him down. Eventually, Sebastian gave way and Sierra took the chance to bash at Sebastian's chest with both short ends of the tonfas, jerking him back with each hit until she spun them around, striking his sides. She finished her string of moves by slashing upwards with both tonfas, knocking Sebastian up. She touched the ground with her fist, a portion of the ground jutting up and curving down at Sebastian, blowing him into the side of one of the steel support beams of the building under construction. Sebastian landed with a thud, and slid to the ground.

"How about we end this already? You seem to be unable to finish me off at all. Although I do admit you got some good hits on me. But I've been ready for a fight like this for forever. Here I am filled to the brim with hatred for you, ready to fight. You on the other hand Sebastian… you let yourself go. Beacon changed you from being aggressive in battle, to just not even being able to fight anything human. You're pathetic."

"I'm… not… pathetic." Sebastian slowly dragged himself up, using the steel beam as support. "I told myself I would never be like that ever again. I promised myself."

"Then you'll never win against me. You'll die here, with the rest of your friends, because you were too weak to stand up to the truth. Maybe after this, and the heat has died down, I'll visit your parents. Make them understand the same pain you went through." Her smile turned into wicked glee. She made it well known that she enjoyed tormenting him. "Afterall, if you're trash for being what you are, then what does that make them? Worse than trash? Non-recyclable? Maybe a waste of air?" Sierra cackled at Sebastian, taking pleasure from the rage he felt.

"You won't lay a GODDAMN FINGER ON THEM!" He launched himself at her, his scream of rage and anguish turning into a growl you'd hear from an animal. Sebastian was, at this moment, completely a different person. Nothing was going to stop him anymore. His once thought out moves, now becoming nothing more than wild flails, his hands clawed and tried to scratch their way to Sierra, but she kept jumping out of the way. Sebastian became faster, more aggressive, his attacks inches away from Sierra, who struggled to get out of their path. She tripped up, giving Sebastian the perfect opportunity. He swung his arm downwards nearly hitting her, but Sierra placed her hand on the ground, another piece of the ground jetting out and slamming Sebastian back.

"Stay down dammit!" She yelled at him, but Sebastian didn't listen. His fury emanated through his inhuman growls. He couldn't listen anymore.

Sierra placed both of her hands on the ground, a larger piece emerging and being sent out at Sebastian. He jumped on top of it and using his semblance, glided across it and spun his body, kicking her in the face sending her backwards. He finally pulled Siberia out and without thought, sent it flying at her, striking her multiple times in the body, arms, and legs, the steel ball whizzing around. He retrieved it and Siberia still being in his hands, he dashed at her and struck her full force. She slammed into the dirt and slid across the ground coming to a stop. Sebastian stood there heavily breathing in between the animalistic noises coming from him.

"I'm nowhere done with you yet you bitch. I'll make you suffer far worse than what you put me through."

Sierra got up, coughing and spitting out some blood. "Then come on! Try and take me down!"

The two charged at one another, each preparing a solid strike. They both hit one another in the face, each person following through with the attack, and each person being flown backwards.

Meanwhile, Cyrus, Axel, and Damien were running around wildly, swinging their weapons, and deflecting incoming attacks from hordes of White Fang members, All the while, still evading Noir's super-speed strikes.

Damien spotted a gas can for one of the machines near the pile of debris that Noir had blown all over, and an idea formed in his brain. He stopped running for a moment, quickly changing directions as he bobbed, weaved, punched and kicked his way over to it. He grabbed it on the fly and started dumping it out onto the ground as he went. Once the can was empty, he stopped and called out to his team.

"Hey guys! You might want to stay back!" he yelled, and his team fell back from where they were fighting and made their way back into the main construction site. Damien turned to follow with a large group of White Fang chasing him down. He turned sharply and ran over to a large piece of debris, and launched himself high into the air. While in midair, he drew his sword and pressed the button, turning it into a rifle-a rifle with incendiary rounds. He aimed and fired, igniting the trail of gasoline immediately. He landed and took off toward the source of the trail: a large gas tanker that must have been used for the machinery.

"What the hell are you doing?" Cyrus's voice cried out from the main building.

"Something REALLY stupid!" Damien yelled back, leading the mass of White Fang over to the tanker. Axel said this stuff was fireproof? He thought to himself. Guess there's no time to test that than the present!

The fire grew close to the tanker, and Damien knew he only had one shot at this. He planted his feet and jumped on top of the tanker, and from there he launched himself as far over the top as he could. The fire reached the tanker, causing a massive explosion, sending the White Fang members flying. Damien braced himself from the flames, and his armor held up.

Unfortunately for him, when he opened his eyes he found himself flying through the air, screaming toward a large steel beam with a long cable hanging down. Thinking quickly, he pulled out his sword, split it in two, and used the blades as a makeshift zipline, gliding to the ground, where he tucked and rolled to a stop. He sat up, looked around at his handiwork, chuckled, and laid down to catch his breath.

On the other side of things, Axel and Cyrus were dealing with one angry Jackson Noir, panting and gasping for breath as he swung wildly at the two. They pushed away and tripped him up to try and buy time to finish off the remaining goons with their weapons in gun mode. Once most of the goons were taken care of, the duo turned back to Noir and got into offensive stances.

"Oh come on, how EXACTLY do you expect to beat us?" Axel scoffed. Noir smiled and raised his hand once more, summoning another dozen White Fang members. Axel's eyes widened. "Good answer."

Noir scrambled back further into the building while his goons attacked, one by one getting taken down by a shotgun blast or a staff to the face. Or both. Soon, the two boys were left with a pile of unconscious faunus and a missing crime lord. The two stood there, gasping for breath.

"You know," Axel said to Cyrus, both of them hunched over, exhausted. "When Sebastian said he wanted to take these guys down, I really hoped it would be more… doable. These guys are EVERYWHERE."

Cyrus nodded.

"Yeah, no kidding." he agreed.

"Hey, did you see where Damien went? I bet he's having a better time dealing with these stooges than we are."

"Yeah? Well, you'd lose that bet."

The voice came from the entryway of the unfinished building. The two turned to see a very battered and and tired Damien hobble into the building. He was covered in ash, from head to toe. He shook himself off and walked over to his companions. "Well. That looks like the last of them. What you guys say we take down the big ba-" Damien started before remembering something. "Wait a minute. Where's Sebastian?"

"That girl that ambushed us? She said something weird and he just kinda flipped," Cyrus replied. "I honestly have no idea where they went."

"Well we better trail after Noir in the building."

Sebastian and Sierra were still locked in combat, the fight having become a slow standstill. They both stood still, out of breath, looking badly injured and dangerously low on aura.

"You don't know when to quit do you! Just let me shove your face into the ground permanently already!" Sebastian growled at her, the rage within him uncontrollable.

"Neither do you really. Why don't we finally settle this bout of ours?" Sierra's body glowed a dark brown color. The ground shook all around them, the building too.

"We finally agree on something." Sebastian took a deep breath, his body glowing a grayish white.

The two unleashed their semblances at the same time, full force. Sebastian lifting metal bars and tossing them straight at Sierra, while she shot out multiple sections of the ground at him. The sounds of the collisions of ground against metal alerted the rest of Team CSRD to where Sebastian was. After the dust settled, both Sebastian and Sierra were still standing. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a hasty Noir entered the scene.

"What the? You still haven't dealt with that pile of trash!" Noir looked pissed.

"And I see that you failed to take out three brats with not only a handful of my men but also the prototype. Which seems to be badly damaged no less."

Sebastian darted a look at Noir and gave little thought on how to remove him from the situation. "Out of my way." Noir was suddenly thrown about the area until landing at the feet of Cyrus, Damien, and Axel, who all looked shocked at the state Sebastian was in.

"You three take care of him." Sebastian looked towards the others, a gleam of malice in his eyes. "She's mine to deal with."

"And just how will you do that? You haven't brought me down yet!" Sierra placed her hand on the ground, one last piece of ground spiking outwards, coming at Sebastian.

"I've had enough of your lame party tricks." Sebastian hopped onto the spike and glided across it with his semblance. Sierra went for a counterattack by trying to slash him out of the air. Sebastian bounced off her tonfa with his foot, landing behind her. She spun around to meet him, swinging her tonfa at Sebastian's face. Sebastian swiped her tonfa away with his gauntlet, Sierra being left wide open.

"Time to end this." Sebastian, using the last of his aura, concentrated it all into a palm strike, smacking Sierra's midsection and then pushed his arm forward, the impact sending her diving into the ground. Sierra's aura shattered as she landed, her spitting out saliva mixed with blood. Sebastian walked to where she landed, breathing heavily and stumbling due to his injuries. Sierra was on one knee and was too weak to stand up. Sebastian looked around for a weapon to take with his semblance, a gun one of the White Fang members was using lying on the ground nearby. Without hesitation he flew it into his hands and pointed it right at Sierra's face.

"So this is it huh? You really plan on killing me?!" Sierra looked up at Sebastian, whose eyes held no mercy, a kind of crazed smile on his face.

Cyrus, Axel, and Damien looked at their ally in both shock and fear. They had never seen him like that before. The once joyous but sometimes serious Sebastian, now reduced to nothing more than that of a wild beast. Someone who had lost all sense of human emotions. In essence he had become exactly what the faunus were told they were: animals. They had to try and stop him, to do anything to get him to return to normal. If they didn't, Sierra might not be the only casualty of the battle.

"Sebastian you have to listen to us! Don't do it!" Axel yelled to him but Sebastian gave no notice of hearing it.

Sebastian's finger slowly pushed on the trigger.

"Sebastian stop for christ sake! It isn't worth it! I'm your leader, so listen to me dammit!" Cyrus demanded Sebastian to stop but he didn't care.

Sebastian was inches away from firing the gun.

"If you hate the White Fang so much, don't shoot her! You'll become just like them! Murdering scumbags! A monster!" Damien gave the last effort to pull Sebastian from the brinks.

Sebastian's finger stopped. His eyes blinked, going from rage-filled to staring in horror. His arm began to shake and his body followed. In an instant Sebastian turned into a fearful child who saw something horrible. His entire being gave way with dread and he stood there, unable to do anything but continuously shake. His eyes were on the verge of tears and Sierra saw an opportunity. She placed both hands on the ground and from where she was on her knee, the ground shot up, carrying her away, and she landed amongst the higher portions of the building. She vanished off into the distance, leaving Sebastian, Noir, and the rest of the team behind. Noir was looking for a way to escape but Damien looked down at him.

"You stay right where you are. The police will be here soon to pick up your sorry ass."

Noir sighed and laid on the floor in defeat.

Cyrus and Axel approached the broken Sebastian that stood before them, while Damien watched over Noir.

"It's okay Sebastian, you can stop now." Cyrus calmly said to him.

"The fight's over. You don't have to worry. We still got Noir, so it's a win for us." Axel put his hand on Sebastian's shoulder.

"Ahhhh!" Sebastian cried out, his body jolting, the gun falling out from his hand and clattering to the ground. Cyrus and Axel flinched backwards in surprise. Sebastian fell to his knees, tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Hey what's the matter Sebastian?" Axel looked down at him. Sebastian only could get out a few words at a time, amidst his shaking and crying.

"I… I almost did it." Sebastian looked at his hands, horrified at what he was just about to do.

"It's fine Sebastian," Cyrus said. "You didn't do it, so it's alright." The team had no idea why Sebastian was acting like this.

"I… couldn't stop myself. I lost… all control of myself."

Axel stepped in again. "The good thing is, you snapped out of it."

"You don't understand. I told myself I would never do it again. I almost broke that promise."

"What promise was that Sebastian?" Cyrus asked, and none of his friends were expecting the answer he was about to give and neither was Noir.

"I promised myself that I would never kill someone again. I was inches away from breaking that promise. I almost did it. I was ready to kill without hesitation." Sebastian fully broke down at this point. His team all looked onward in shock, as the sun began to rise over Vale and the sounds of police sirens were heard arriving at the scene.

Some nights later, the door to an abandoned building opened, and a newly broken out of prison Noir came into the room.

"Bloody hell, that was awfully fast." It was Sierra's voice that awaited him.

"No thanks to you, just ditching me like you did. Still, jail is nothing more than a few days of planning in order to escape."

"Humph, whatever." Sierra looked at the map on the table in the middle of the room. "We'll have to regroup here, in order to get back what we lost a few nights ago." She pointed at a location on the map.

"Those damn brats were tougher than they seemed at first. Especially your little friend." He batted an eye at her. "Now with the prototype destroyed, I'll be getting quite the earful from Torchwick. No doubt I'll be shunned by everyone now."

"There's no need to worry about any of that, Noir." She looked at him and smiled. "We have all the data we need from the battle in order to mass produce them. More effective and more deadly."

"What about the amount of dust needed to power them?" Noir slammed his hands on the table. "There is no way we'll get enough to power mass produced versions of that kind of equipment!"

"I already have that planned out. You know of the asset I told you about?" Noir nodded. "He'll be flying in from Atlas soon. He'll help to make them more efficient."

"But why would someone from Atlas want to help us of all people? What would be in it for him?"

"Simple," Sierra said. "His son."
