DM Taking Care Of Mom Chapter 2
That afternoon Gru's mom, Marlena also came to see Lucy.
She made Lucy a flask of hot tea to keep by her bedside so she could have a drink whenever she wanted without someone having to keep bringing anything up. Meanwhile Margo, Edith and Agnes were talking about their mom. "Who's gonna give us more love and care like what Mom does?" asked Agnes. Just then Margo had a bright idea. "I will!" she said. "What?! You?!" said Edith in surprise. She burst out laughing and rolled about on the floor. "You don't know anything about being a mother!" she added when she had stopped herself from laughing. "That's enough, Edith!'' said Margo in her best motherly voice. She decided that bedtime would be a great time to practise her motherly skills. That night at bedtime, Margo tucked Agnes into bed, she was wearing light green shirt and dark green boxer shorts.
Edith was wearing a pink short sleeved shirt and long pants and Agnes was wearing a long blue sleeved shirt and pants. Their normal pyjamas including Margo's olive green nightgown, Edith's pink onesie and Agnes's long blue nightshirt were being washed so Gru had found the girls some temporary pyjamas. Margo kissed Agnes goodnight, then she tucked Edith into bed and kissed her goodnight too. Gru who had secretly been watching unbeknownst to Margo was amazed as he watched her climb into her own bed. Gru walked into the room up to Margo's bedside. ''Hey Margo what are you doing being all motherly on Edith and Agnes?'' he asked. ''I'm doing the responsibilities of doing some guardian duties Dad'' replied Margo, ''And being a mom figure by doing the same as Mom does''. ''Oh Margo'' sighed Gru, ''I understand you want to help your mom while she's sick, but you're too young for this sort of thing''. Margo looked sad.
''Though you are more intelligent and mature enough to look after Edith and Agnes'' he added quickly. That made Margo feel better. That night when everyone was asleep. There was a strange whooshing sound. It woke Agnes up, she was scared. She got out of her bed and went towards Margo's bedside. She shook her awake. "Margo. Margo!" whispered Agnes. Margo moaned sleepily and yawned before sitting up in bed. "What?" she groaned. "I heard a noise?" said Agnes. "What noise?" asked Margo. They heard the whooshing sounds come again. Now Margo was fully awake, she heard it as clearly as Agnes had the first time. ''Let's go and check it out'' she whispered to Agnes. She got out of bed with her bare buttocks sticking out of the back of her boxer shorts and Agnes followed her downstairs. On the way, Margo picked up a torch so she and Agnes could see in the dark. They walked quietly through the dark hallway.
There was a rumbling noise coming from the kitchen which turned out to be the same whooshing sound from earlier. Margo and Agnes walked in. They looked all around. Margo shone the light on a cereal box that had a monster on it. Agnes shrieked and jumped onto Margo's hips and held onto the edges of her older sister's boxer shorts. She slipped down and accidently pulled them down to Margo's ankles and exposed her bare buttocks! ''Hey Agnes, careful!'' shrieked Margo. ''Sorry Margo'' said Agnes as Margo pulled her boxer shorts up again. They didn't hear someone sneaking up behind them. "Boo!" said Edith. Margo and Agnes exclaimed and jumped. They turned round and saw their sister grinning at them. "Edith!" said Margo. She decided this was another good time to practise her motherly skills. "Do you want to be in a time out?" she asked. ''No!'' said Edith. The rumbling noise grew louder. It seemed to be coming from the kitchen sink.
Suddenly water came shooting out like a bullet! BOOM! Then Gru woke up. "Huh? What was that?" he said. Dru woke up, too. "Huh?! Mom?! Is that you?!" he murmured. Of course Lucy stayed in bed as she wasn't feeling well. The minions went into the kitchen with plumbing tools followed by Gru and Dru. ''Hey, what are you two doing up so late at night?'' asked Dru. Margo explained everything that had happened. Gru and Dru understood. The minions fiddled with the pipes as Stuart pulled out a banana that was blocking the pipes. It was mouldy and stinky. All the minions ran to nab the banana thinking they could still eat it, but the smell put them off which told them they couldn't eat it! The next day, when Margo came downstairs, she got a lovely surprise, there was Lucy sitting downstairs on the crocodile couch wearing a cosy dressing gown. Her cheeks were still rosy. ''Mom are you getting better?'' asked Margo, hopefully. ''I feel a little bit better, thanks Margo'' replied Lucy with a smile. Margo gave her mom a big hug.
''But I must stay home and rest and take my medicine for a couple more days before I can go back to work'' Lucy added. ''Ok Mom'' nodded Margo, ''I understand''. Lucy kissed her on the head. For the rest of the week, Gru, Dru, Margo, Edith, Agnes and even the minions helped to look after Lucy by giving her everything she needed and making sure she was comfortable. By Friday evening, Lucy was feeling much better and her cheeks weren't nearly as rosy as they had been. She asked Margo if she'd like to watch a movie with her. Margo was delighted to have some time with her mom. ''Yes please Mom!'' she said happily. Later Lucy and Margo were enjoying 'My Little Pony: A New Generation' on Netflix together, Margo snuggled up against her mom. Then they watched 'Cars 3' on Disney Plus. After the movies, Lucy read Margo a bedtime story, it was 'International Secret Agent Hero' that Jillian and Jessica had given Lucy when she was sick. ''I'm so glad you're feeling better Mom'' said Margo afterwards.
"Me, too, honey" smiled Lucy. She reached out and tickled Margo's armpits playfully, ''Momma's got her strength back!'' she grinned. Margo shrieked with laughter. Then Lucy tickled Margo's stomach making her laugh even harder. Margo felt like she might wet herself. Lastly Lucy tickled Margo's belly button. Margo squealed and laughed till her eyes filled with tears, this was her worst place to be tickled! Lucy stopped tickling and kissed Margo goodnight, then she went and also tickled Edith and Agnes's armpits, stomachs and belly buttons and kissed them goodnight too. Margo heard them squeal and laugh. Lucy was very happy when the day came when she could go back to work. "WHOOP-WHOOP!" she cheered, "Welcome back, Agent Wilde" said the receptionist when Lucy arrived at the AVL. "Glad to see you're feeling well" said one of the other agents. "We missed you when you were ill" said a thin man. He gave Lucy a warm welcome back hug. Lucy just smiled. ''It's good to be back'' she said.
At home that evening, Lucy gathered her family. ''Being ill isn't so bad when you got a loving family to look after you and help you get through it, I think family love is the best medicine of all'' she said. Then Lucy turned to Margo, ''By the way, your father told me how you tried being me when I was ill''. "He did?" said Margo. ''I'm proud of you for being responsible'' beamed Lucy. Margo smiled back at her mom as she and Lucy hugged each other tightly. ''I love you Mom'' said Margo. ''I love you too Margo'' said Lucy kissing her eldest daughter on the head.
