Chapter 5:

Steffy arrives back home, when she comes in Amelia is reading a book on the couch. Amelia looks up to see Steffy clearly upset, "Steffy! Are you ok?" Amelia gets up and quickly moves to Steffy giving her a comforting hug.

"I'm as ok as I can be," Steffy takes a deep breath, "I walked in on Liam and Hope having sex in a dressing room."

Amelia's eyes widen, "Oh my God, he was just messaging you about putting your family back together."

"I know," Steffy sighs as she wipes away another tear, "I have a lot to think about."

Amelia looks at Steffy wishing she could do more to help her friend. Steffy continues, "How is Kelly?"

"She's good, she woke up for a while, I changed her, gave her a bottle, then she went back down."

"Thank you for all your help, I need to get some rest. I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow."

The next day at Forrester, Eric and Ridge are in the CEO office discussing the reveiws of the fashion show, "They're not the worst, but they are not exactly the numbers we were expecting." Ridge says disappointed.

"Katie is working on spinning this in our favor. What we should be talking about is you moving back into Brooke's house." Eric explains.

As they continue discussing business Steffy walks in the office. "Steffy," Ridge says surprised to see his daughter at work, "You're still on maturnity leave. What are you doing here."

"I came to the show last night."

"Oh," Eric says surprised, "Is that what your here to discuss? We have Katie working on a way to drum up more positive press."

"Why didn't you come find us?" Ridge wonders, he is now noticing there is something off about Steffy's demeanor.

"I came to talk to Liam, I'm sure you both heard that Hope is pregnant with Liam's child. I wanted to discuss our future." Ridge and Eric are thinking that her conversation did not go well. Steffy continues, "When I found Liam, he and Hope were making love in a dressing room."

Eric and Ridge's jaws drop and their eyes widen, "How could he do that to you!" Ridge exclaims.

"Well technically you two were not together right?" Eric asks, Ridge and Steffy can tell he is about to defend Hope, "He and Hope are having a child together."

"Granddad," Steffy says with a broken heart that her own grandfather will not stick up for her, "He was messaging me all day trying to put our family back together. I wasn't exactly going there to get back together with him, but I was expecting a serious discussion about it."

"Steffy, Hope is a good girl."

Before Eric anything else Steffy cuts him off, "Granddad! I can't hear this right now. I can't work with this woman anymore. She needs to be fired."

"Steffy, lets not jump to rash decisions."

"I don't think I'm being unreasonable here. She slept with the CEO's fiance."

"Well you said you were working things out so technically you weren't with Liam at the time."

Steffy can't believe she is hearing her own grandfather defend Hope and Liam, "Granddad, just because we were fighting doesn't mean we just threw the relationship away. We were living together."

Ridge chimes in, "Dad, Steffy is not wrong. This is a discussion we should be having. She is the co-CEO, she should be able to come to work and not have to deal with the woman who slept with her fiance. Isn't there a morality claus? You used that against me once."

Eric is trying to think of a way to save Hope's job, he can't imagine Brooke's reaction if they fired her daughter. He looks to Ridge, "Brooke is not going to like this you know?"

"I don't care what Brooke thinks!" Steffy says before Ridge can say anything, "Brooke is not in any position of power, she's another employee here and has no say what we decide."

"And just what is Brooke not going to like." A voice from behind Steffy says.

Steffy turns around to see Brooke standing there with her arms crossed, giving Steffy a smug look. Steffy gets stern and serious, "The fact that your daughter was having sex with my fiance in the Forrester dressing room after the fashion show. I guess like mother like daughter."

Brooke gets an insulted yet still arrogant look on her face, "Good, her and Liam belong together, they are destiny."

"Oh shut up, enough with your destiny B.S." Steffy snaps, "The morality claus with Forrester states I can fire her for sleeping with the co-CEO's fiance."

"Well actually," Eric chimes in, "That claus I put in for Ridge to not steal Rick's girlfriend."

Steffy still can't believe that her own grandfather is sticking up for Brooke's daughter over his own granddaughter. Her grandmother would be furious. Ridge is starting to get angry with his father as well.

"Well I guess that's that." Brooke says still very smug. Ridge just glares at Brooke.

Steffy realizes she is not going to get the support she needs from her own grandfather. Her father for the time being seems to be on her side. She is going to have to figure this out herself. She takes one last look around the room, nods at her father and walks out to form a plan.
