Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars or anything else you may recognize

I recently finished re-watching the 2008 Clone Wars show, and also saw the 2003 show in its entirety for the first time.

While I do prefer the 2008 show, the 2003 show has a lot of strong points too, not to mention I prefer their Grievous over the 2008 one.

It can be considered canon up till 3x1, since after that Sidious has Anakin and Obi-Wan sent to Nelvaan so they aren't on Coruscant when Grievous takes him.

But, I've decided to do two one-shots to connect both the shows. This one takes place right before 2x16 of The Clone Wars, which is chronologically the first episode of the 2008 show, and is just a reference to events of the 2003 show, to form a connective tissue between both.

While the other one-shot will be an attempt to place the Nelvaan arc of the 2003 show into the 2008 show's timeline.

Enjoy.

Coruscant

Anakin was walking towards the Resolute, where Admiral Wullf Yularen and the rest of the Task Force waited for him, with Obi-Wan walking next to the Jedi Knight, both talking.

"Try not to do anything too bold this time", Obi-Wan was saying. "I say this because the life of Senator Organa is in peril."

"You forget, Master, about how good I am when I do something bold", Anakin told his friend in response. "Remember Muunilinst?"

"How can I forget?" Obi-Wan commented dryly. Anakin had taken out the Geonosian starfighters with some pretty out-of-the-box techniques that most others won't even think of. "You disobeyed me and chased Asajj Ventress all the way to Yavin 4."

"And defeated her", Anakin reminded Obi-Wan of the important part. "Then I was knighted too."

"Doesn't mean the risk you took was truly necessary."

"Master, if my risk leads to reward, it is necessary."

"Of course", Obi-Wan sighed sarcastically, knowing Anakin wouldn't let him win this argument. "Let's hope you never get a Padawan. We can barely handle one of you."

"I hope I never get one either", Anakin shrugged, seeing the Task Force a short distance away as he and Obi-Wan nodded at each other, deciding it was time to part ways for now.

"Good luck, Anakin. May the Force be with you."

"May the Force be with you, Master", Anakin replied, watching Obi-Wan walk away while he moved towards the Task Force, having a feeling that he would once more take a risk on this mission on Christophsis, like he had back at Muunilinst.

He was proven right.

And this is done.

Like I said, just a reference to the 2003 show's events, to form a connective tissue and bridge the gap between them.

The Padawan mention is a foreshadowing to Ahsoka, and how Anakin originally didn't want her, before they became like siblings.

Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
