When Nevermore September term began, Wednesday walked in to her and Enid's room..
Upon seeing Wednesday, Enid bounded over and hugged her with an "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"Enid, I will-" Wednesday stopped herself "Please release me."
Enid winced, stepping back "Sorry! So glad you're back."
"The feeling is the nigh opposite of neutral." she stepped to the side, revealing a small, dark-haired boy. He looked so much like his sister, yet his timid stance displayed someone far different.
Enid covered her mouth "Is this your brother? Will he be joining us here?"
"Yes to both those questions, Enid." replied Wednesday "Can you watch him for approximately..." she checked her timepiece - "...two minutes while I go meet with Xavier?"
"Of course! Can I-"
"No."
"How about-"
"If you attempt that, I shall stab you with a curare-infused dagger. You will become paralyzed to the point where you won't be able to breathe, and you will die within minutes of suffocation. Are we understood?"
Enid nodded "Understood."
As Wednesday left, Pugsley turned to her "Are you and she girlfriends?"
Enid turned into a beetroot. Hang on, let me check my notes... right, sorry. She turned as red as beetroot "Girlfriends? Ha- HAHAHAHAHA! What makes you think that?"
"She isn't the opposite of pleased to see you." Pugsley pointed out "Plus, she's talked about you twice during the holidays."
Enid stammered, before sitting on the bed "Do you think she likes me?"
Pugsley shrugged "Maybe."
"Ugh, but she likes Xavier..."
Wednesday returned, an unsmiling look of satisfaction on her face "I talked with Xavier, and I have news. As it happens, he no longer feels romantic attraction towards me-"
