I stare back at the shivering earl in front of me as I make sure the words I said are properly delivered to his head. I let go of his hand as he ran back to the estate. After a few moments, he went out together with the rest of the children. Until the end, no single word was spoken.
Prince Seryu appears to be fully satisfied with how things turned out but that passionate gaze from Mefi is lingering in my mind. If the young prince chooses a path that would break Laurel's heart, he better prepare himself as forgiveness would be the very last thing he's about to hear from my mouth.

I receive the stares of the children as I stand before them. There's the first three who infiltrated the house and an inclusion of six more children from the earl's estate making the total number of kids into nine. I've given some thought about what to do to be able to help them and the conclusion I arrived at is to have them work in our house. Considering that most of them are girls, except for the only two boys who's included in the infiltration, I'm thinking of hiring them as maids.

To be honest, I can't think of anything else awaiting a double but a miserable fate. Needless to say, I am not a fan of such tragic sights so I'll do my best to avoid that. And her being a double is just for the sake of convenience. Sasha and Laurel had no idea about the infiltration and assassination that just happened so I need a pretext.

I sneak a glance at Nanami as I'm having such a conversation with my daughter and wife and notice how wryly she smiles. She's still young but I think she'll be able to soon adapt. I didn't mean to but she really is perfect to work as a double. Not sure if that fiancé Prince would be able to see through her though. In the first place, the young Seryu-sama has actually triggered a new flag on his own. Perhaps I'd have to treat him differently depending on his choice.

In fact, for me, happiness is almost synonymous with those two. Even if there comes a day that I have to hand Laurel over to someone else, I shall do so for her to reach her happiness. Still ain't sure if it's Prince Seryu though. Considering the new flag he triggered the day prior. I don't even have an idea how Laurel will react once she takes notice of it. She's pretty observant after all. Chances are that Mefi could be the prince's concubine but that doesn't really sit well with me. Not at all. If, by some chance, talks with Laurel's engagement with Seryu has to finally stop for Seryu wants to be engaged instead with Mefi, that would significantly alter Seryu's fate (route). Laurel isn't actually interested in Seryu-sama as far as I can see and Seryu's admiration towards Laurel isn't that deep yet so there definitely exists such a possibility. The future is already uncertain at this point and I could only prepare myself.

Nonetheless, I'll also make sure to discipline them and give them a warning, or perhaps a scolding, if they commit any misdeeds. Laurel grew up to be an obedient and tough girl due to the solitude, negligence, and experiences she had in the past. But for these two, I hope they grew up playful, adventurous, and happy.
