I hate that there are no fanfics about this, so I fixed it!!
don't own this beautiful shot show, just run this shit show of a fanfic!
(p.s. this takes place after the third book!)
Amy's POV
Amy Cahill didn't like most of her extended family, and that was before this whole clue hunt thing.
They'd just reached the Sydney International Airport, closest to uncle Alastair's home in Seoul. It'd been a chaotic 24 hours to say the least.
what with being trapped in the cave, uncle Alastair faking his death, rushing to the airport to get the next flight to Cairo, Ian...
no, don't think about that!
yea, Amy Cahill wasn't all that fond of her family right now. And as she stared at the airport bathroom mirror, she felt angry.
why hadn't grace warned us! Or our parents! Why are we even doing this in the first place!
The girl staring back at Amy in the mirror made her angry too.
This wasn't the face of a fourteen year old girl, it looked tired, embarrassed, and jet lagged beyond belief.
She should be in a library somewhere, reading for hours on end and worrying about homework. But no, she and her eleven year old brother Dan, had decided to gain the race for the 39 clues.
she came from the greatest family in the world! And here she was crying over Ian Kabra.
and your not going to quit because some pretty boy with an accent pulled one over on you, right?
that last voice was her grandmother herself, the same thing she'd said when Ian had locked her in a closet during a family reunion when she was eight.
No, she couldn't let that stuck up rich jerk stop her, and certainly couldn't let him make her cry anymore.
leaning over to wash her face, Amy Cahill didn't even see the tall figure come up behind her. In fact, she hadn't noticed the person until they'd grabbed her around the middle.
Before she could fight, before she could even open her mouth to scream for help, the plunge of a needle hit her arm.
Amy Cahill, along with several others that exacted day at that exact time, were captured. Knocked out via needle injection.
The women dressed in black smiled sadly at the past out girl in her arms.
if only it didn't have to be this way!
but it did, and it would.
the woman heaved the red-haired girl into the far left stall, in which was a secret passage she went through.
No one any wiser, the plan was in action.
Dan's POV
Dan Cahill didn't like needles, and that was before getting injected with night-night juice and passing out.
when he did come to, he was laying on a grey carpeted floor, head pounding. The room was dark, lit only by the low hum of dim motion lights. There was no furniture, as far as he could tell.
Yep, this was a kidnapping.
Was this Irina? No, I'd be dead if she'd got me.
plus, Dan distinctly remembered someone coming up from behind and sticking him. A guy he'd say, with at least a foot on him.
They'd had gloves on to, so it'd taken just a millisecond longer to plunge the plunger (is that what that's called? He'd ask Amy)
Speaking of his sister, Dan's head shot up. Was she kidnapped too? Or worst, was it just him and she didn't know where he was?
"Son of a..." came a familiar voice beside me.
I turned over, Amy slumped right next to me. Looking around, I spotted Nellie too, still passed out with faint rock music playing from her iPod.
And now that his eyes were adjusting, he saw others laying around.
Oh shit...
"Dan?Dan!?" Amy was fully awake now, yelling frantically as she staggered to her feet.
"Over here." I yelled back, standing unsteadily and reaching over to her.
She was patting her pockets, prompting me to to the same.
No phone, but oddly enough, I still had my candy bar from earlier. I'd actually been eating it right before I'd been taken.
Amy hadn't come back for a while and our plane was about to leave, so I went to get her. Took one step around a corner and boom! Grabbed and dragged into a supply closet I think.
Amy pulled out her keychain, quickly pleasing the small pin light on it and shining it at me.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? What happened? How did we-" she was rambling, shining the light all around us.
I recognized some of them. The Holts, the Starlings (I guess they weren't dead?), the Kabras (great), Jonah, Alastair, and even Irina!
There were others I didn't recognize too. A pretty women who looked strikingly like Ian and Natalie (most be their mother).
A African American kid a little younger then me next to a taller guy with brown hair. He looked a bit older then Amy.
Two blonde kids, a boy and a girl, laid next to who must be their mother. None of which I recognized.
"Wake up Nellie, I'm going to see if there's a way out of here." Amy ordered, already picking her way though the sleeping bodies before I could answer.
As the small pin light bounce away (this place must be huge!), I tiptoe back over to our Au Pair.
With a small shake, she roused, pulling out one earbud out to scold me.
"Dan why-, where the fuck are-" She began, only to be interrupted by amy flipping on the room lights.
the whole place lit up, momentarily blinding us as the room was illuminated.
Dark steel walls, vaulted ceilings, with cushions scattered all around the room. A trap door sat twenty feet above me, closed tight.
A series of groans and curses brought me back to the present, the others were starting to wake up now.
Hamilton was beginning to argue with his sisters. Jonah's dad was trying to frantically find his phone, scrambling around on the floor to find it.
Natalie was whining about being on the ground (typically) and her mother (maybe?) was shushing her angrily.
"D-Dan! I found something!" Amy called from across the way. Apparently everyone being awake had drawn out her stutter once again.
I wasn't the only one who heard it. Ian Kabra's head shot up at her voice, as well as Reagan and one of the starling boys.
All three race over as I did, crowding a overwhelmed and tongue tied amy.
I pushed through, finding that my sister had a tan piece of paper clutched behind her as the others pressed in.
"Don't crowd the poor girl, move, all of you!" Came a booming Nellie from behind me.
I smiled as the others backed up a little, grumbling. Amy looked pale as she stared down at the paper. Or that could be the whole room staring at her, either.
"What's it say?" I murmured, keeping a carful eye on the others as I stood next to Amy.
"Read it aloud!" Came a voice somewhere in the throng.
I glare, then returned my attention to my sister. Amy licked her lips anxiously before reading aloud.
"Hello Cahills and adjacent,
You might be wondering why we brought you here?-"
"Obviously!" Eisenhower Holt yelled before his wife shushed him.
"that will be explained all in good time. Please know that as for right now, you are in no danger.
Please gather into a circle and introduce yourselves. Can't have you all in her not knowing each other can we?"
"And if we don't?" Ian interrupted, trying to lean over to read the note.
Amy of course leaned back as far as possible, eyes glued to the paper as she went on.
"Failure to do as instructed will lead to, how should we say? We brought you here, we can take you out? Yes, that's it. Please do as said above in order to get further instructions."
Amy finished, lowering the paper and turning to me.
everyone gathered into a circle (the holts rather begrudgingly) as we began to introduce ourselves.
"Um, I'll go first I guess? My name is Mark Rosenbloom, these are my son's Jake and Atticus." Said a taller guy I hadn't seen before.
he was a older guy, brown hair to match his oldest (Jake I think). His sons being the two i'd seen earlier. They both looked scared, the oldest more then a little pissed.
the younger of the two (Atticus) had glasses and thick dreads, and wore one of those math joke shirts with 'find the X' on it.
Next went the starlings, the sister Sinead speaking for the three of them curtly.
"Eisenhower, Mary Tod, Hamilton, Reagan, and Madison!" Boomed next.
"What's up yo? I'm Jonah wizard!"
after that came the blonde family. "My name is Debbie Ann Pierce and these are my children Cara and Galt." She introduced in a weirdly bored voice, like if white noise could talk.
Amy gulped and spoke next. "H-hi? My n-name is A-Amy Cahill."
That got a reaction, Mark Rosenbloom pulled his sons away and turned pale. The Pierces looked gobsmacked, Debbie Ann staring down at her like she killed her dog.
Amy shrunk back and behind Nellie, note balled in her hand.
"And I'm Dan! Those are the Cobra's! Alastair and Irina over there! Are we done here!" I rushed out, stepping in front of the both of them.
*Clang!*
the trap door flung open, another piece of paper dripping down from a string. Hamilton grabbed it this time, which of course lead to a full blown screaming match between his family.
"ENOUGH!" Boomed a voice from above.
"I told you the note thing wouldn't work!" Came a man's voice, only slightly far away sounding, like he wasn't talking into the microphone.
"Oh shut your the one who-" This time it was a women's voice, distinctly familiar. I couldn't quite place it though.
"Both of you idiots be quiet they can hear us!" The last voice was a guy too, and from the sound of it had a British accent.
one of them, the women I think, cleared her voice before speaking.
"You all must be wondering why you are here, yes? The truth is, several years from now, Ekat scientists have created the first ever working Time Machine.-"
"That's bullshit!-"
"Shut up Eisenhower! Anyways, things in the near future are near critical. Lives have been lost.
That is why certain individuals have come together in the hopes to prevent that by giving you the information to stop it."
As the voice spoke, a thick square package wrapped in brown paper lowered down into the room by a string.
It stopped just short of our reach, and dropped. Nearly clipping Sinead Starling on the head.
the Ekat picked it up, unwrapping it to reveal a small leather bound book.
" The Book in your hands contains eyewitnesses accounts of the entire clue hunt from the death of miss Grace Cahill onwards."
This was met with a commotion. Almost everyone was scrambling for the book, I stared over at Amy, who'd once again turned pale.
The entire clue hunt from Graces death onwards? Had the clue hunt started before that?
"This might seem like this is impossible, but let us assure you. It is."
"How can we trust you? How do we know your not lying?" Nellie spoke up this time, clutching Amy and I in each arm.
"The books will explode everything."
the voice changed, a guy's voice this time.
"Please, the fate of the Cahills and the world is at stake. The losses are heavy,"
I looked across the room at the Kabras.
"On all sides."
"Well,-" came uncle Alastair from his perch on the wall.
"Who's going to read first?"
Done!!! I am So.Fucking.Excited!!
please comment! I love hearing you guys!!
Til we meet again!
