After getting his body back, Sonic headed back home, while Cain stayed in the city for a while.

Mother Brain managed to help Cain find some jobs, on the condition that he takes Senequa with him, so they can have some bonding time.

Cain agreed and the two headed towards their first job together.

"Ok Senequa. It's time to do some father-daughter bonding time." Cain said.

"Ok daddy." Senequa said.

The two made it to some sort of maze, where they see a Bomber Man waiting for them, right next to a pile of bombs.

"Hey there buddy. I see you are the guy I needed to diffuse these bombs, but I didn't expect you to take your daughter with you." The Bomber Man said.

"I know she may look young, but she is actually a genius. Show him." Cain said.

Senequa then walked up to the pile of bombs then in an instant, began to diffuse the bombs with her hands and tentacles.

"Woah! Never seen anything like that!"

"Yeah." Cain said before looking at the Bomber Man.

"Say, do you have a brother? Looked similar to you, but insane." Cain asked.

"Oh if you meant my criminal brother then yes. He wasn't the freshest apple from the barrel. Apparently he was killed by some men, for some reason. Can't say I miss him."

Senequa then came to Cain, after diffusing the bombs.

"Can we get some ice cream please?" Senequa asked.

"Let me pay for it. You deserve it, along with the payment." The Bomber Man said with a smile

After getting the money and ice cream, they went to the next job, only to find that it wasn't what they expected.

"I thought I was helping a special needs kid!" Cain yelled as he was now facing Goro.

"Uh. Goro's retarded." Sub-Zero said to Cain.

"I saw him reading a book. It was written by scholar of martial arts." Cain said.

"Ok fine you got us. We needed someone to fight him, considering no one would fight him."

"What?! Give me one good reason to fight this four armed man of death." Cain said in anger.

"We'll pay in quadruple."

"You better have my money." Cain said.

The bell rings, and in an instant, Goro grabbed Cain with his lower arms and begins to pummel him with his upper arms.

"LET HIM OF MY DADDY YOU FREAK!"

Then suddenly, Senequa jumped from the crowd and delivered a punch to Goro's head, twisted it to the point where it broke his neck, but not kill him.

This causes him to let go of Cain, who fell to the floor.

This was one of the few rare times that Cain loses a fight.

Cain felt humiliated because he lost in front of his daughter.

The last thing he saw was his daughter, coming towards him.

Cain woke up to see that he was on a bed and was back at Mother Brain's house, where she was standing next to him with a clipboard.

"Oh thank goodness, you're awake. I'm so sorry about that job I gave you. I didn't know they set you up." Mother Brain said.

"Eh. It's ok. But how is Senequa?" Cain asked.

Just then, she came in with a smile on her face.

"Daddy! You're awake!" Senequa said as she ran up to him.

"Of course I am awake. Hell is too scared to take me." Cain said with a smile.

"Glad to see you two are doing fine. By the way, I got some bad news. Those guys didn't pay you the money because Senequa intervened."

"Eh it's fine. I can find some other way to find the money." Cain said.

"That's the other problem. You might want to see this." Mother Brain said as she walked towards a door.

Cain got up and followed her and when they entered the door, he saw Shaymin, with bruises on him.

"He came in after you were brought to me. And he had this." Mother Brain said as she showed a piece of paper.

Cain took the paper and read it.

It was an address, along with a tape of blue and orange fur.

Cain crumpled the paper and tossed it.

"Mother Brain. I need to head back home. In the mean time." Cain said as he went to Shaymin, with Senequa who walked up to him.

"Shaymin. Can you be Senequa's Pokémon? I can't take care of you because of what is going to happen. Can you do that?"

Shaymin was shocked, but nodded.

Senequa was happy and hugged her father.

"Thank you so much daddy!" Senequa said.

"You're welcome." Cain said as he hugged back.

After the hugging, Cain looked at Mother Brain.

"I don't know when I'll be back. But I promise that I'll come back. For you and Senequa." Cain said.

"And I'll be waiting for you."

Then two then kissed, before departing.

Cain was staring at a tall tower, where the address from the paper took him.

Cain walked into the building, only for two tall men to grab him and take him to an elevator.

After the elevator stopped at the top floor, the men got off at some sort of office, where the men took Cain towards the only desk and let go of him.

"So we meet at last. You made quite a mess with my Tetris gig. It costed me a lot, and now you owe me a lot of money. Money that you are going to have to work off."

The boss revealed himself was none other than the new Mario.

"Nice to meet you fatso. Now where is Sonic and Tails?" Cain said.

"Watch your mouth. You work for me now. As for your friends. They are alright." Mario said as he snapped his fingers.

The two men then left the room and came back with Sonic and Tails, all roughed up.

"As you can tell, you fuckers destroyed my Tetris gig. Now they already told me it was that Eggman, but I don't give a shit. You made him come to you, so you caused it, and now you have to pay for it." Mario said.

"But we paid a lot. Just give us more days." Tails said in despair.

"Normally, I would allow that but this became personal when I found out who you are. After all, you are the one who killed the last Mario."

This caught Sonic and Tails attention, because Cain never told them about that.

"If you two are wondering about that, I'll tell you. Apparently, the old Mario faked his death. But he was really killed by this small group. I couldn't be able to find out who is who, but I was lucky enough to get an eyewitness on one of them."

"What does his death have to do with right now?" Cain asked.

"Well, I've done my research, and discovered a lot of skeletons in your closets. Both figuratively and literally. So I need a man like you to do jobs for me. Do this and you and your friends go free and the debt is clear. Fuck up, and I'll kill you and your friends." Mario said.

"Well, I can't. Apparently there is only one guy besides you who knows who I really am. And I can't kill him because of his role as protector."

"I see. I can take care of that. I don't need a Chain Chomp wrapping my new best man's neck. So, do we have a deal?"

Cain looked at Mario then at the two.

He sighed and accepted the deal.

"Good. Now here is the first job."
