Harry and Ginny have been dating again since that tragic May 2, 1998. They held each other through many funerals and late nights woken
up by the cruel memories that destroyed their childhoods.
This summer night in 2000 Harry and Ginny were living in their flats. Harry couldn't bear to live in 12 Grimmulad Place due to the painful memories of his godfather wasting away in drink and mental anguish. Of course, this brings us to tonight. The night was a bit cool and crisp. You would have to walk out in a coat to be comfortable on the cool night. There was something beautiful about a cool summer with a bunch of green grass and leaves.
Harry woke up with sweat sticking to his clothes despite the cool air. His nightmare was horrific. It was about the Battle of Hogwarts. Harry kept seeing the death of his classmates and friends in his eye. He also felt the feeling of losing all feelings when the Killing Curse. His limbs were shaking uncontrollably, and Harry knew he wasn't going to be able to go back to sleep. As he looked over at his alarm clock which said the time was 3:00 am.
Harry went over to his kitchen, and put the kettle on for tea. Then he got out his copy of "The Giver" and started reading. About forty minutes into his book Ginny burst through the floor with tears streaming down her face. She was in a white nightgown with long sleeves with ruffles. It made her look like a tortured ghost.
Harry got up with an alarm clearly showing on his face and asked, "Gin, what is wrong?"
"I was having a nightmare. It was about my 7th year with the school being a glorified torture castle."
Harry was reminded of Ginny's panic attacks when she went back to school to get her N.E.W.T.S. She would be constantly reminded of her torture and her friend's torture. She bearly got good grades, and she was just trying to stay afloat the whole year. Harry asked Kinslgey if he could get his N.E.W.T.S. at Hogwarts a few weeks in because Ginny was suffering so badly. Luckily, his request was accepted. Harry did appreciate that because he got more refreshers on part of the training program.
Harry knew that Ginny just needed to be held and he needed to feel her too. He grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms. She started sobbing hysterically in his arms, He could her struggling not to cough on her saliva. Harry did nonverbal magic to get teas ready for the both of them.
After a few minutes, Ginny could breathe, and she and Harry started drinking tea. After that, Ginny fell asleep against Harry as she went to sleep her final thought was "I want to be with him forever, good and bad." Harry stroked her hair and he leaned his head on her head, and he thought as sleep claimed him. "I want to be next to her forever."
A year later they married underneath the summer sky, much to her mother's dismay. They did have a party for their marriage which mollified her.
Later Ginny gave Harry more love than she could have ever given on her own. She gave him three children. Their names were Theodore James Sirius, Logan Isaac, and Diana Lily. Plus, they have Teddy with them most of the time too. Ginny and Harry moved on from the past for the most part. The past was in the past. The future was far more important to the Potters.
Harry and Ginny taught their children that the past did not control the future and that you can always be happy and hopeful in the darkest of times. Summer nights perfectly encapsulate the feeling of promising happiness in the darkness.
