This little one shot takes place after Sasuke kills Danzo in shippuden. Just a fun idea that came to me.
Memories
Danzo was dead, and Anko could not be happier. While many in the village mourned or at least pretended to, Anko could not remove the smile on her face if she tried. She had always hoped that someone would take the bastard out.
When it was announced he was to be the next Hokage, she had seriously considered leaving Konoha. Now it was a moot point, and so she celebrated with her favorite food and whiskey. Some of her fellow Shinobi threw her dirty looks but she hardly cared.
The only thing that caused her any hesitation was just how happy she was. For some reason she seemed happier at the would be Hokage's untimely end than she was at her own Sensei's. "But that can't possibly be right," she thought. The only thing she had wanted for years was to hear of the Snake Sanin's death. Yet some weird part of her seemed almost sad, and she didn't understand why. By all accounts she should be happy that the Uchiha had rid the world of the man. The boy had done what she and so many others had failed to do.
"Course the kid's just as evil," Anko thought as the whiskey slowly distorted the world around her.
"And ballsy," she added as she remembered he was the one that attacked the Kage summit. That he was the one to kill Danzo.
"I may just forgive him for taking both those bastards out," she giggled to herself. Oh she was definitely drunk, but that didn't stop her from waving over the bartender for a refill.
It was as she was downing several more that she noticed how lively the bar had become. And they weren't drinking out of sadness either. They were only slightly better at hiding there good moods than she was. "His own men," she accidentally said out loud.
"Sorry what was that?" the bartender asked.
"Another drink," she demanded loudly.
Yet when it was passed to her, she did not immediately drink it. Her mind was urging her to go home, she didn't need to wake up in a ditch somewhere after all.
"I can't believe the Uchiha is that strong," one of the men near the bar said. Anko did her best to focus on the speaker but it was proving a challenge. She could tell he was taller than those around him.
"You know if we could get a hold of him maybe we could," the tall man made a strange gesture that Anko just couldn't focus on. It almost looked like a pair of scissors, but that made no sense.
"Quiet," the man across from him hissed.
"Why? The program's been shut down for some time," the taller man questioned. "Just tamper a few memories and I'm sure he'd be loyal to the village again."
"You've had enough," the shorter man grabbed the other man and pulled him from his seat. Alcohol spilled to the floor as the man tried to keep his balance.
"But it worked so well on those cases loyal to that Sanin," the man defended as he was dragged from the bar.
Even in her half dizzy mind Anko knew the tall man probably wouldn't see the light of another day. It was obviously something incredibly confidential, and if he was part of the underground Shinobi that Danzo ran than he was a dead man.
But what were they talking about? Something about memories, and those loyal to the Sanin?
As Anko trudged her way back home she was filled with a strange apprehension. Something felt off but she just couldn't place it.
Before she knew it she was home, and had staggered her way to the couch. As her eyes grew heavy she felt herself drift off into a deep alcohol induced sleep. Where she dreamed of a strange world where Orochimaru had actually been a good Sensei.
Okay I wrote this in one go so I'm hoping it's not an incoherent mess. It was purposefully left a little vague which I think fits a lot better.
I really want to spend more time writing and so I read my other one shot and was inspired to make this. If there is anything grammatically wrong please tell and I'll fix it. It's been awhile since I've attempted to write anything.
