Chapter 4

The black smoke in the distant is becoming bigger as I get closer, and I could see Mt. Lady is having trouble trying to safely join in to defeat the villain causing the damages on the street. I stopped on the edge of the building, and I can see right below me is the very incident that truly begins the story of one green haired kid to becoming the number one hero he eventually reaches.

Fires, burns marks and destroyed properties littered the street below and also few people gathering to watch the show. Heroes together trying to beat the villain in front of them and failing as far as he can see on their faces.

When I looked at the gathering civilians on the side I could see the short green haired kid named Izuku Midoriya covering his mouth with both of his hands and with a very fearful expression on his face. I could also see a blonde-haired skeletal figure holding a lamppost with one of his hands with a scared and indecisive visage showing on his face.

'Still feels a little weird seeing the number one hero to be in form a skinny skeleton that somehow able to stand and walk. Even now I could barely see some muscles on that form of his and in a very strange way, it's freaking me out a little' I thought gazing at the blonde figure. I then turned to look at Izuku again and his form still the same as before and I thought.

'I guess the fear of death can grip the heart tightly even after being saved by a hero, even living in a world filled with heroes.'

Lastly I gazed upon the very source of this incident and it looks very disturbing seeing it in person.

'hmm, it seems that sludge villain can really use other people quirk when taking them over. More so that physical attacks seem to have no effect on it. Interesting.'

'oh Bakugou, if only you born with a quirk that doesn't match with your personality'

Chaos and fumes of black smoke continues to spread as the current pro heroes fails to contain the villain and damages it's causing mostly because of its hostage and his quirk.

"hmm?" my eyes then suddenly locked on and followed one future number one hero rushes through the crowed and the other heroes on the scene and going straight to the villain holding his friend in need.

Izuku throws his backpack towards the sludge and manage to hurt it by getting hit with one of the bags contents. The boy then used the opening to try and get his friend out from the villain by using his hands, although it seems to be not making any difference. Even from up here to where I am, I can still here the very voice of a true hero. 'I guess it's time'.

"Kacchan, I couldn't just stand there and watch you die" with a scared but a brave smile on his face.

'Get the hell of me!' Bakugou screamed in his head.

Just as the sludge villain was about to strike a blow towards Izuku, only moments later everyone including evildoer itself freezes on their spot and by some means, the very area they are all in went complete silence despite of the flames still on the place. chills went crawling up on everyone 'spines and felts a certain eeriness enveloping the air they're breathing in. the sludge arm that was about hit Izuku was cut off from it's main body and the villain itself doesn't seem to notice it as it was looking all around franticly. During all of this happening, every single person civilian, heroes and otherwise, all of them can hear a whistling melody deafening the whole district.

(Whistling) – Death's Whistle

All the people on the streets, even the giantess herself looking around wildly with some fearful expression on their faces including the heroes as well. Some knew this sound and felt very frightened to their very core as they witnessed what is about to happen like before. Some heard it on some videos on news and/or online websites and seen if not very vaguely on what will happen. And the rest who don't know just felt the cold dread that enveloped them like an iced blanket.

'Oh no, is it really him' All Might think while hearing the sound that haunted his nightmares a whole year when first meeting The Grim Reaper and while looking around.

"I heard this before" Izuku murmured. He then turned to the sludge because not only it was wilding looking everywhere as if trying to can something but also screaming at the top of its voice.

"no NO…NO NO NO! STAY AWAY, THIS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! DON'T YOUR DARE COME! I'M GOING TO LIVE YOU HEAR ME! I'M GOING TO LIVE! LIVE! LIIIIVE!" the sludge villain never truly ever met the Grim Reaper before in his life but it kept hearing about it the underground, news and once it seen him reaping the life of some notorious villains before with ease that made fear got a hold on the villains soul. The whistling melody eventually stopped and it then heard a simple sentence with a sound like many myriads of people, gender and age.

"With your recklessness and sins, you were asking for me".

The villain turned to the voice or voices so close to it, it didn't even notice his very end just suddenly appeared out of nowhere and standing so close to him. Not only that, but the villain also only notices it now when he gazes downwards and saw its body lacking the hostage and weapon attach to its body. Afterwards it saw Bakugou on his butt looking at the back of the Reaper himself with a surprise and fearful face.

"Kacchan!" Izuku and ran to his friend and knelt down to see if his friend is hurt.

Civilians begun to talk amongst themselves and the other heroes snapping put of their stupor although they still feel the unease and fear of my presence.

"hey is that him? The Grim Reaper?"

"oh my goodness, he looks scarier in person than I thought"

"fuckin hell, he does exist"

"please please please, don't take me, don't take me, I won't steal ever again"

"shit, he really is terrifying to look at"

"yeah, him just standing there feels like he's also behind me. Like, waiting for me bite the dust"

"Shh, shh, don't say anything like that. God knows what will happen if he sets his eyes on us"

Then one of the heroes started to shout to take command.

"You three, stay back and protect the civilians. You and I will confront them"

"Are… are you sure we should go with the Grim Reaper there. I... I… I don't want die"

"Don't worry, everything we know about him is that he kills villains and criminals alike"

"Y… Yeah b… but still…"

"are you one of those two?"

"NO! of course not!"

"Then come with me, there is no time to chicken out. Right now lives is on the line."

"R… Right. Alright, I'm with you"

Those heroes start to slowly advance forward and try to get the two kids and defeat the villains on the scene.

All might who still among the crowd is having a hard time to whether or not to intervene because just moments ago he was about to go there and save the young boy and his friend and take care of the villain himself but with Grim Reapers appearance, everything has gotten more complicated. Since his past interactions with the Reaper's always ends up the same. The Grim Reaper always gets away, even from him and the backlash from it is really big because it's been ordered by the government to every hero agency throughout the country to apprehend The Grim Reaper on sight. And many times, they encounter him, he flees with no problems even being surrounded by heroes and police.

More so, it's not just the Japanese government but also the entire world. That's right, the Grim Reaper is a number one wanted person in the whole world. Because been sighted throughout every country, big or small and have been going on a killing spree of villains and criminals.

Not only that, there's been many, many evidence that the Grim Reaper also takes the lives those of innocence that society have discarded and ignored because of their Quirk and/or circumstances.

This notion has led many people all over the world to speculate, make conspiracies and/or outright rage on the person who got a Quirk that takes lives suddenly took upon himself to be judge, jury and executioner and believe that his job is to be the very `Grim Reaper` from myths and stories. Choosing to end people's life, no matter who they are, villains, criminals and innocent people.

At first the people believe him to be just a vigilante but when he started to go after civilians, even if their circumstances made them unable to live normal lives, it made every single government to go after him. The Grim Reaper has no right to kill them. Those kinds of people could've had their lives become better if they could have received help, but they can't now since they were murdered before getting help.

It gotten much more worse when the Grim Reaper started to recruit others to join him. Countless lives throughout the world have been lost because them. Governments and the people had designated those who joined the Grim Reaper simply The Reapers. So far through out the years there's only been five individuals has joined. And all of them are both criminals and villains to the eyes of the world.

However, the world doesn't yet realise that it doesn't matter what they call him or label him as because to the Grim Reaper such perception of the living does not and will never deter him from his duty as Death. I am what I am because this is what I chose of my own free will. This job that I made and made myself strong in will to carry out what I want to do.

All might contemplate on whether he should go there and try to apprehend both villains but should the Grim Reaper escape once again, not only his reputation will take a hit like many times before confronting him but also a life will be taken, villain or not. a few seconds later, All might made up his mind and started to transform to his muscley figure.

The Grim Reaper starts to lift up his scythe to reap the sludge villain life and all the other heroes including All might charged at the Reaper himself first, trying to save the villain.

All might manage to bring both kids to safety within seconds and then going the Reaper along with the other heroes.

"(sigh) I am here for you because of your sins. Do not worry, you will not feel any pain." I simply said to the sludge villain with a calmed tone, not caring about the others going after me. I could hear them screaming at me to stop.

All might was the closes as he was just centimetre away from grabbing my scythe, but I was faster and he was too late.

The sludge villain was screaming his last breath and currently going for an attack at me.

"NOOOO!" that was the last word the villain said before my weapon slashed to one of his Death Mark lines and just seconds later the sludge villain simply lost its form and just splashed itself on the ground covering much of the street.

I noticed that All might is just closely next to me and right when he was about to grab a hold of me and probably ask why I've done such a thing, I simply knelt down on one knee effectively dodging his hand. Once my knee on touching the ground, I move for a one-handed prayer manner and said still with my altered voice.

"Be at peace and try to be better on your next journey"

All might just stare at me with the most confused facial expression despite still with a smile on him mouth.

I then heard people started to shout at me with anger in some hate in their voice. I think they must have heard what I said to the villain I killed.

"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SAY THAT!"

"WHAT GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO SAY SUCH A THING HUH!?"

"AFTER WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!, HE DIDN'T DESERVE THAT!"

"ARE YOU KIDDING US!? YOU JUST TOOK A LIFE!"

"EVEN IF IT WAS JUST A VILLAIN, YOU MURDERED HIM!"

"KILLER!"

"MURDERER!"

"HEROES GET HIM! HE'S RIGHT THERE!"

"NOWS YOUR CHANCE!"

The lower rank heroes just realised the number one hero was with them and started to surround me.

"Grim Reaper, you are surrounded."

"Surrender yourself"

I got up from my position and merely stared around me and landed on All might himself. The number one hero spoke to me with a hint of a solemn tone.

"Why…. Why do you do this? The lives you take and many those you've taken. Just…. Why?"

"Remember what I said to you on our first confrontation?"

Yes, he remembered, and All might after this time, he still can't understand the meaning of it and some parts of him, he can't accept it.

Past: "People may not be ready for my gift, but they get anyway. No matter what the circumstance"

Present: "People may not be ready for my gift, but they get it anyway. No matter what the circumstance"

And just like that, I disappeared from everyone's eyes and I was gone.

I remembered a phrase that says when a foolish person is always reckless and careless, other people often say, "He's asking for death". So I used that for this scene. I might use it for other times as well.
