Static Shockwave Season 01 Episode 06
Virgil had been sitting around in his room when he'd heard an alarm and went to check it out as Static and we see that a dealership had been broken into and a fancy sportscar had been stolen with Hotstreak in the driver's seat.
They'd been having a fun time with Hotstreak calling out "Woo-Hoo! Now this is what I call a car!" racing around the city.
He'd then heard a voice stating "Coincidentally this is also what the police call a hot car." and we see that Static had caught up and was flying beside him on the Static Saucer.
"Static? Man, can't a guy even go for a joyride anymore?" Hotstreak questioned while continuing to drive down the road.
"Sure, drop you off at county lockup?" The electric powered hero questioned as the Pyrokinetic just gave an annoyed grunt and shifted gears going faster to get away from them.
When he'd pulled a u-turn Static did the same and zapped the car getting it to shut down and was using his powers to pull it to a stop with civilians moving out of the way as it'd slowed and then came to a stop before it hit a wall and the Pyrokinetic got out aiming at him.
"Who asked you to but in?" Francis questioned as he'd thrown flames at the hero who'd dodged it and thrown an attack of his own back angrying him as he calls out "Y'know I'm really starting to lose my temper!" as a bit of flame was moving up from his feet arond his body.
Suddenly some ropes dropped down making him stop and look confused with some guys in armor and masks had descended from some hovering vehicles. One of them had extended some sort of weapon and tapped Hotstreak in the back knocking him out in the pricess.
Static had landed onto the ground and questions "You guys cops? That was pretty c" however he'd also been zapped in the back and dropped onto the ground alongside hotstreak.
Sometime later Static had gotten up and tried to walk noticing he'd had some sort of cuff around his arm that was teathered to one on Hotstreak as well. He'd gone towards a wall that was buzzing with energy and went to touch it getting zapped making him draw his hand back. The only think he could do was look out the window and saw that they were being flown over a very large body of water towards an island.
Hotstreak had woken up and noticed the band stating "You got ten seconds to get this thing off of me or your goose is cooked." yanking Static towards him wrapping one arm around his neck.
"Hold on smoky, I'm not the one that put you here!" Static stated to him trying to get them to get off of him.
"Not my problem!" The red and yellow haired individual answered back and tried to burn him but something was wrong "What the? No flames?" he'd questioned confused about what was going on there.
Static then tried his own powers but they didn't work also with him stating "Great, no electricity either." and began looking around seeing strange green lights above them "And I'm guessing it's got something to do with those weird lights above us. I'm guessing they're power dampeners, we need a plan."
Hotstreak looked at Static and smirked. The plane they were on had flown into some sort of facility with the two of them watching through the window before looking at one another for a second. A large Cargo truck had driving out where they could see them indicating that they were supposed to be moved to another location the plane couldn't get to.
"See that truck, when they try to move us that'll be our chance to escape." Hotstreak stated to them about the plan.
"Maybe I could talk to them, they probably grabbed me by mistake." Static stated about the guys that were on the island.
"Dream on Sparky, it's pretty clear they want us both." Hotstreak stated gesturing to the cuffs on himself and Static.
They'd heard knocking and some other guys came in with Static trying to talk to them stating "Look, I think you got the wrong guy. I'm Static, and I was trying to catch this guy when you grabbed me." Static tried to explain while gesturing to Hotstreak and they'd turned off the shield and dampeners.
"Look he was trying to steal the car, I was.." He'd tried to continue but was zapped by the prod as the guy holding it says "Keep quet."
"Look, I'm trying to be nice here." Static stated stepping forwards but he was zapped again and dropped onto the floor.
They pointed the prod at Hotstreak who held his hands up stating "Hey I didn't say nothing." while Static had moved to his hands and knees rubbing where they'd zapped him at. He'd then moved down pretending to help up Static while whispering "This is our chance, you with me or not?"
Static looked up stating "I'm with you." and checked his powers if he had enough juice yet before hiding his powers quickly.
"Get up, let's move." The guard stated making the prod electrify as a warning for them to do as they said.
Static then stood up blasting at the guy as Hotstreak blasted one of his own and Static zapped the remaining guy though more came in and he'd tried to blast them stating "I got them." but Static pulled his arm causing his amim to be off with Francis stating "Hey you made me miss!"
Static then unleashed a shockwave that took at the guys and also knocked down Hotstreak though that may have been accidental as he'd offered his hand with the guys getting up stating "Get up!"
Hotstreak took his hand stating "Thanks." as he was helped up and then moved to be in front of stating saying "Now get out of my way!" before blasting at the guards. "One down, two down, three." he'd called and then they'd noticed that the controls and the key were damaged.
"Looks like you melted everything, we're gonna have to walk out of here." Static stated while Hotstreak was trying to burn through the cable but not having any luck getting through it.
"Guess you're right, some king of high tech material." Hostreak stated giving up on trying to cut through the cable with his flames.
Something had blasted them out of the truck and they see that it was some kind of drone that Static had blasted at taking it down and they see some guys on hovering vehicles like the ones back in Dakota. The two had ducked behind some crates and the guys had flown past when they'd noticed a window and looked inside seeing that they'd also had Talong, Gear, and Rubberband Man.
They'd been spotted and Hotstreak created a flame shield before blasting into the air and Static activated his saucer mid air with the former stating "You're starting to become a real drag you know that?"
"Hey, if you don't like me you're gonna really hat those guys." Static stated about the guts that were shooting at them. They'd blased one of them but were grazed with the lasers and had crashed down into the forest below them. "The trees should give us some cover, hows your shoulder?" He'd then questioned as they got up.
"Fine, how's your stupid leg?" Hotstreak answered back questioning about where Static was grazed as well.
"Fine, let's go." He'd spoken and the two started walking discivering the hover vehicle from earlier as Static states "Hey, it's the Jetscooter I shot down."
The two had got on and Static gave it some juice with the two flying it throught he forest with some bots appearing and flying around shooting at them "Great, we got drones on us." Hotstreak stated and blasted at them taking one of the drones down.
"Wearing your seatbelt?" Static questione dwhile fying around manuvering through the tress and another drone crashed into one of the large branches causing it to drop onto the forest floor. "We gotta go back and save Gear and the others you got fire powers and I got electiric powers, not a great combo on an island so we'll have a better chance at escape if we have backup." He'd then stated about helping the others.
"Have it your way." The pyrokinetic stated yanking him off of the jetscooter and the drones blasted it.
When one of the drones had flown overhead Francis calls "That's the lead droid!" and blastst at it sending it flying forwards and down a distance away from them where it'd crashed and the other drones had flown after it.
"Now you're using your head." The electrokinetic stated back to them as they had started to get on the move again.
"Not really, I just like to blow stuff up." Hotstreak stated back pushing a branch out of his way and let it bend back into place slapping Static in the face in the process.
They'd managed to find the facility and proceeded to sneak in to look around hiding when someone had began to walk past noticing that it was a nurse that'd made them realize just what kind of facility that the two of them were at.
"This is a hospital, I don't do hospitals." Francis stated to Static and slumped down against the wall with his back turned towards it. "When I was a kid I spent two years in a hospital."
"If you don't help me now then it'll be a lot longer than two years." Static stated back crouching down to look him in the eyes.
They'd gotten up together but had to hide quickly when some guys walked past wheeling the other Bang Babies down the hall and heard some guys talking with a man in a white coat stating "It is dangerous, but it may work." while looking at the man behind him.
"I don't pay you for things that may work, I want results. Do whatever it takes, clear?" The man spoke and we see that it was Alva Sr. that had been the one speaking to them adding in "Just find a cure for my son!" and we see that stone statue that Edwin had become also being wheeled down the hall.
Static had managed to grab a key using his powers and unlocked their restraints when they'd been spotted and he'd been zapped by them with Hotstreak blasting fire at the guys and escaping thorugh some blasted open doors. Meanwhile they'd activated the machine and tried to drain excess energies from the Metahumans to cure Edwin.
The Electrokinetic Hero had managed to absorb power from a cable and blasted the nurse and another guy with the man that Alva had been talking to turning around to see what was happening. He'd blasted at the guards while running and blasted the machine turning it off running over towards Gear and blasted the restraints making them open.
"Gear, wake up! Can you hear me?" Static questions shaking his partner who'd groggily woken up. He'd blasted the nurse and moved her over towards the other chairs pointing at them stating "Unlock those two, and make sure that they're okay!"
More guards had come in trying to take them down but the four Metahumans had been able to take them out using their powers and tech to take them all out with more coming in and Alva Sr. had appeared calling out "All troops stand down, drop your weapons."
Hotstreak appeared with his hand on Alva Sr.'s shoulder with a flame in his hand stating "You heard them man, drop 'em!"
"I thought you were outta here." Static stated to Hotstreak who'd been walking over with his hostage.
"What, and drive a hovercraft myself? Sports cars are more my thing." Hotstreak answered back throwing the ball of fire up in the air and catching it.
Gear was at the controls and calls "Static you should see this!" with a worried tone with his partner coming over to check out what's going on seein information on Edwin. "It's Alva's son, we're loosing him."
"Is there anyway we can save him, like what if I fed my energy into the machine and gave it my all?" Static questioned the main doctor that'd spoken with Alva Sr. earlier in the hallway.
"If you could feed it enough power than it just might work." The doctor answered back about the whole experiment.
"You sure you wanna risk it, the machine could drain you for good." Gear stated to him worried about Static's safety.
The Electrokinetic hero turned looking at Edwin in the tube and nodded stating "Let's do it." and went over to a chair with the nurse going over hooking up everything for them and putting the clamps down so he would't move around too much.
With a nod from Static the doctor and Gear both started working with Static feeding his energy through the tube along with giving it some extra umph with his electricitiy but it didn't appear to be enough and Hotstreak had remembered what Virgil told him last time he'd seen them replaying the final bit of 'I guess that's what I get for beleiving that you could be anything more than a street thug.' in his mind.
"Fire me up, if he can take it then so can I!" Hotstreak then told the nurse hopping into the chair next to Static and she'd nodded hooking him into the machine as well.
With both Static and Hotstreak feeding into the machine and Gear taking the controls they'd managed to cure Edwin and he'd leaned against the tank taking a breath and they'd moved it up letting him drop forwards as Alva Sr. had caught him.
Edwin had seemed confused about where he was and what was going on questioning "Father?" when he'd been caught by his dad.
"Edwin, I'm so sorry about what happened." He'd told his son crying glad that he was alright and that it was now over.
We then cut to the Metahumans all being dropped off back in Dakota where Static gesture to the car Hotstreak stole earlier questioning "We picking up the fight where we left off?"
Hotstreak looked at the car and states "Nah, I got a sweeter ride." and jumped back into the hovercraft stating "Alva said it was okay and after what happened it's the least he owes me." before then shutting the door and flying off on the hovercraft.
