Static Shockwave Season 01 Episode 08
Static and Gear were dealing with Kangor and another metahuman by the name of Ferret blasting at them as Kangor had attacked Satatic leaving Ferret to Gear, though Ferret was a coward and tried to run away with Gear chasing after tracking them with his teck. Kangor meanwhile had managed to kick Static onto a rooftop and walked over preparing to step on him but something had happaened casuing him to fall over as his oversized feet were shrinking down in size.
"Gear, get over here!" Static called into the comms as Gear had been tracing Ferret's footprints using his tech.
"What about Ferret?" Gear had questioned about what was going on speaking into his communicator.
"Now bro, you gotta see this!" His partner stated telling him that it was important to check this out.
He'd headed on over and noticed something up with Kangor questioning "What's going on?" looking at the confused.
"It's Kangor, his feet are shrinking." Static explained as Ferret had climbed up a wall watching them.
We then see later that Ferret was reporting to Ebon along with Talon and Hotstreak who were also there with the mater of shadows stating "You're not making any sense."
"I don't get it neither, it's like he was turning.. normal." Ferret stated back about what he'd discovered.
Hotstreak grabs Ferret by the arm making them look at him and says "That's crazy." with Talon putting her hands on her hips.
"I'm telling ya, it was like something out of a monster movi" Ferret had began to say but something started happening to him too as the same strange glow that happened around Kangor also happened to him.
"Get up Ferret." Ebon called jumping down in front of them but Talon turned towards him and opened up her wings in front of him.
"Open your eyes Ebon, he's turning human." She'd stated as they watched Ferret return to a more normal human sized head and his fingers had returned to normal no longer having claws.
Meanwhile Kangor had woken up in a hospital stating "Strange I'm feeling light on my feet." and lifted his leg seeing that it was normal sized again with Static and Gear standing there in the room also.
"Well, better than before." Static stated as he and Gear moved to either side of of the hospital bed and continuing to add "When you were light on your head."
Dr. Todd had come in stating "I assume you're calling me about a bang baby being human again?"
"Well, ya, actually. Mind explaining?" Gear questions the doctor about just what was going on exactly.
"Well, for weeks we've been spraying a cure through the city with approval from the city council. Within a few days all the Bang Babies will be human again. Including both of you." The doctor explained to them about what was going on.
Later on Gear had let out a frustrated cry hitting his helmet'd face against a keyboard of one of their computers and Static had to come in putting his hands on his friend's shoulders and pushing him away from the keyboard.
"Hey, hey, chill." Static stated telling him to take it easy, althought right about now he wanted to do the same thing Gear had been.
"There's no way to stop it! I'm not gonna be a genius anymore, and your powers are gonna.." The supergenius spoke about what was happening.
"I know, I could feel them slipping away for awhile now." The Electrokinetic Hero stated making his hands spark with electricity. "Let's jet over and see if the doctor's in." He'd then stated walking out the door.
"That's assuming we could even stay in the air." Gear reminded him and the two had prepared to head on off.
"Good point, better fly low." Static spoke and the two had taken off to speak with Dr. Todd about something they could do to keep their powers somehow.
Meanwhile at the lab the wall had been blasted open with Hotstreak questioning "Hey doc, remember me?" H'ed questioned as he walked in with Talon and Shiv with Ebon walking past him and up to Dr. Todd.
"You're the one that made that so called cure. You had to have the original stuff or else you couldn't make one, I want what's left." Ebon stated to Dr. Todd about why they were thre. "And if you don't comply your partner there is gonna get a very close shave."
They'd looked over towards where Shiv had a spinning sawblade held close to the other doctor making Dr. Todd sigh stating "In the safe over there."
Talon had gone and unleashed her sonics breaking the safe open staint "Now let's get out of here!" picking up the cannister, though she'd dropped it as the cure had started effecting her too turning her human also.
Static and gear had appeared from the hole blown into the building and started to fight them when Gear had noticed something being broadcast calling "TIME OUT!" making everyone stop. what they were doing looking confused at how stressed he'd been all of a sudden. "Everyone that doesn't wanna be a Bang Baby clear the room! Ebon, get the rest of us clear!"
"Hey I don't take orders from nobody especi"HEY its either us or you can take your chanses wiht the Thanagarians!" Ebon began to say but Gear cut him off gesturing to the armada that had started to move across the sky.
"Okay fine!" Ebon spoke after seeing the various people with birdlike wings starting to take control of the area and he'd forced himself to create a portal and took himself, Gear, Static, Hostreak and Shiv with him.
They'd been teleported to an empty chamber underground and Static questions "Alright Gear what's the plan?"
"Backpack's picked up a discontinued frequency calling for all plumbers and any heroes picking up the signal to meet up at Hudson New York." Gear explained to them about what they'd picked up.
"You're joking right? Even with my powers at full stuff I couldn't teleport that far." Ebon stated to them about having to go that far.
"It's three hours by vehicle, we'll take my car and gun it." Hotstreak stated deciding to go along with all this.
"This is a temporary alliance for the sake of necessity, don't forget that!" Ebon warned them about what they were doing.
"Fine by me, now who's ready to ge their powers back?" Static questioned leaning against the cannister of Bang Baby Juice.
"Ooo, oo, oo, me memememememe!" Shive spoke raising his hand excitedly wanting to get his powers back up to stuff.
"Well then, have at it Shiv." Static told him and moved away from the cannister so he could open it.
Shiv stabbed into the cannister and they'd breathed in the juice getting their powers back and Ebon teleported them to Hotstreak's car and had been spotted by some of the bird people had noticed them and recognized the costumes meant they were either heroes or villains and so went to neutralize them.
"Shiv, cover us!" Ebon called out as they were under attack by the Thanagarians and used his powers to make a portal sending those that got close to the vehicle head first into Lake Dakota.
"With Pleasure Boss Man!" Shiv stated making his hands into blades and began to fight with the Thanagarians calling "With a cho-chop here, and a stab-stab there! Here a Stab! There a Stab! Everywhere a Stab Stab!" as if he was singing the words to the tune of the old nursery rhyme of Old McDonald before letting out a twisted laugh as Hotstreak started the car and sped off.
"What happened to the hovercraft?" Static questioned as they'd been speeding down the road to get to wherever they were supposed to meet up with whatever resistence there was.
"It was too big, I sold it for major cash and bought this bad boy instead!" Hotstreak called out as they'd continued driving off fast down the street and out of Dakota City.
The scene around moves around and fades until they'd gone past a sign that told them Hudson was just ahead, though when they'd gotten close the Thanagarians had started shooting at them with Hotstreak swerving around them and they'd managed to get into the area thoug they hadn't made it to the base.
The Thanagarians had a ship aim a laser at them and the four jumped out of the vehicle as it was blasted with Hotstreak calling out "HEY THAT WAS MY RIDE!" and blasted fire at the Thanagarians.
"Man, forget this!" Ebon called taking the form of a shadow and slipping away from the others with Hotstreak still throwing flames at the ones that blasted his car.
"C'mon we're not far!" Gear then called out and led them towards where there was a large iron door. "Static, if you'd please?" He'd then questioned his partner who'd used his powers to pull the door open and they'd slipped inside.
Hotstreak lit up a flame after things got dark from Static pulling the door shut and he'd taken the lead going to where there were a bunch of people standing around talking and they'd overheard someone talking as they'd joined them. Though they were on the defensive but didn't attack when they realized they weren't Thanagarian.
"Apparently Thanagarian technology hasn't advanced enough to have proper jump gates." One of the guys named Albedo, Ben's younger clone brother, stated to them checking all the information about what was going on they were able to recognize pretty much everyone due to news broadcasts and stuff.
"The Generator has a forcefield around it, but it's remotely controlled from the ship. We need a way to take it down." Dan stated to them as Gear moved over to the controls and took a look at the various information that was located on the drive.
"Hold on a second, I think I can tap the systems to drop the barrier, but we're gonna need some help to do it with the Ship throwing up a barrier of it's own. And the rest of you guys gotta take out the device once we've handled the ship." He'd stated about being able to handle this.
"It's gonna take more than just the two of you to handle everything once inside, you're gonna need all the help you can get." Hotstreak then stated to them "Count me in those bird freaks trashed my ride."
"You'll have to get past the barrier first, anyway you can do that?" Lok questioned the three about how they'd get inside.
"There's one favor I can call in for that." Static spoke up saying they'd had a way to actually manage that.
"Alright, here's the plan, You guys get in and shut down the barrier. Albedo and I will take down the device before it can cause any real damage. Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, and J'onn J'onzz will retake the watchtower. Everyone else try to take out the other Thanagarians and get as many civilains as you can to safety." Ben then spoke up about what they were going to do and everyone nodded headed off to do that.
Static had then moved off with Hotstreak and Gear down one of the darker passageways and calls out "I know you're there Ebon, we're gonna have to get inside the ship with your help!"
The shadows moved around them and Ebon's eyes opened up in from Static's shadow that was up on the wall as the Master of Darkness questions "That's a suicide mission, you know that right?"
"Maybe, but you still owe me one remember? If I need something in your power then I can call on you anytime, anyplace, name it, and I got it done. Well I'm calling it in now." Static stated back about what Ebon had told him all the way back after their very first encounter together.
"Alright fine, but Just so you know I'm not sticking around you'll have to find your own way back." Ebon stated back about finding their own way back once they're inside.
"That's fine, we can steal a ship or something." Static answered back as Ebon then nodded and made a portal with them dropping through it and onto the main deck of the Thanagarian ship. "This is as far as I go, can't believe I'm saying this but Good Luck Hero."
With that Ebon headed off and the other three attacked the Thanagarians causing a commotion as one of them with a sword had swung at Static clipping the side of his face and slicing part of the mask he was wearing causing it to fall off and Hotstreak had blasted that one in the face with his flames blinding them temporarily.
"No way, Virgil Hawkins, seriously!?" The Pyrokinetic spoke recognizing Virgil without his mask and then turned to Gear "That makes you Richie Foley don't it?"
"Er, this is so not how I saw our identities getting out." Gear spoke with a sigh and some more Thanagarians had come to keep attacking them while the three had been pushing through slowly.
The'd moved past the cell doors and the one they'd recognized as Hawk Girl, or Shayera, had taken notice of them calling out "Over here, I can get you to the controls!" from her cell seeing them as the'd stopped to look at her.
"Why should we trust you with anything?" Hotstreak questioned glaring at her since he'd thought it was now her fault for what had been happening.
"She's in there because she gave us the drive to find out what's going on. She deserves a rescue for giving us that much." Static stated to them as he'd had time to put on his spare mask as they'd taken a quick breather.
"Alright fine, Backpack?" Gear spoke to the metal robot on his back and it'd sent out a wire that attached to the control panel unlocking it.
"Alright follow me." Shayera told them as she'd began leading the way to the controls though Hro was there in front of it.
"I'm disappointed in you Shayera I had hoped you'd see the error in your ways and join by my side once more." Hro spoke holding an ax as she'd grabbed a mace from a guard they'd knocked out.
"You're not the man I thought I loved, I was supposed to get help from the Earth, not put it in danger and I won't let you trade billions of innocent lives just to win this war." She'd answered back making energy spark around the mace. "You three, take out the controls." She'd spoken to them as they'd gone to get to work as she and Hro began to fight against one another.
The three had headed over to the controls as Gear had started using Backpack to tap into everything along with messing with the controls as the two Thanagarians were fighting in the background arguing with one another while Static and Hotstreak watched the fight so that they could keep them from getitng too close to where Gear was working.
They'd watched as Hro had forced himself to overpower Shayera and was about to strike the killing blow though Static had stopped him mid swing using his electricity powers around the axe and he'd turned to look over his shoulder just in time for Hotstreak to strike him in the back with his flames and forcibly set the feathers of his wings ablaze causing him to cry out in pain as they'd been burned violently leaving them charred black.
As that was being handled Gear ad called "Got it!" and made the barrier around the shut off switch be dropped and then questions "Miss Hol, would you care to do the honors?"
Hawkgirl then answers back "It would by my pleasure." walking over towards the large switch in the center of the room and pressing down the switch to cut out the barrier around the spacial bypass machine so that the others could destroy it.
Finally after the machine was destroyed we see that the Thanagarian forces were all leaving earth and the three had been watching while talking about something when Wonder Woman had walked over to them stating "You three, Ben wishes to have words with you tomorrow. He'd said you should be there by six P.M. at the latest."

Everything then fades back to them in the room with Ben in front of them with Static, Hotstreak, and Gear, all sitting in the chairs opposite to him with the latter of the three stating "And that's pretty much it."
"There were actually a lot more battles and adventures but we figured it was best to give you the short version." Gear then added in too about what'd all been going on.
"I see.." Ben spoke looking at the three of them hearing their stories of how they'd ended up there helping him and the other heroes that day. "We'll be in touch, you can go now." He'd then told them gesturing for the three to leave now that he had what he wanted to know.
