Fifty-one years have come and gone since the final battle for Moria, and he still doesn't remember his life as Frerin, the only memories of family he carries are James' memories, and other than that he remembers things like how to fight and his craft, as a blacksmith. Frerin has been searching for any clue no matter how small it is of his past. When he fell in battle he fell into a river and ended up on the wrong side of the Misty Mountains, and unfortunately with no memories. For decades he worked and traveled around hoping that someone would recognize him without any luck.

Finally, after those five decades something happened, something called to his soul and he traveled and found himself in Bree. The pull lessened so he decided to stop and look around then decided to stop here for a while and settle down for now. He got a job working for the local blacksmith and rented a permanent room at the inn for the time being. Life eventually moved on as it always does and James, it's the only name he could remember and it's the one he decided to use, knew that change was coming to him eventually.

After two years, he felt a pull beckoning him closer to the Shire, the land of the Hobbits. He packed up and traveled to Buckland and the pull eased, he spoke with Gorbadoc Brandybuck, the Master of Buckland, about work. Gorbadoc set him up in the unused smithy, and there he set up shop, worked, and stayed happier than he had been in a long time. Years passed and in 2885 after the harvest was taken in and winter upon the land snow came in heavy and caused a problem it drove predators into Buckland, and some found their way into the Shire as far as Hobbiton. James took to fighting off any that came to his new home. It was while he was out one day that what drew him to the Hobbits became very clear.

Bilbo and Azalea were out doing shopping for their mother at the shops. Azalea was taking her time and looking at things she wanted to look at Bilbo would just roll his eyes and indulge her. Bilbo continued shopping for their smial. She was looking around and chatting with their cousins when she met them. Time slowly and lazily passed in the Hobbiton shops and nothing would ruin her day out even with the danger that was in the Shire in the nights that winter because she was of age and had more freedoms.

Bilbo stood calling her name and she ignored him in a favor of doing her own thing until he said, "Lils come on the other stuff will be delivered, let's go home,"

Azalea looked at him and turned running over to her brother and friend. She's glad to have had someone like her that remembers their past. Bilbo is happy that he is not alone as well. Now that she has been of age for a bit, Bilbo and Azalea have felt a big change coming for them. They hoped it was a good thing because they couldn't take any more bad surprises just yet.

Frerin was out patrolling closer to Hobbiton than normal when he saw a flash of ruby red curls and heard an eerily familiar nickname and decided to follow the pair of Hobbits and it was a good thing that he did. A growl erupted from the right side of the siblings, Bilbo and Azalea stopped dead in their tracks and looked to the right as three wolves stepped out of the trees, Bilbo stood in front of his sister, but both were wishing that they had magic at that very moment. Bilbo and Azalea received a shock. A member of the Dwarrow ran towards the wolves axes in his hands and starts to swing away at them. The siblings watched as he took out three large beasts, which left him panting in the end. Before he can turn around and make sure they are okay he collapses from exhaustion and pain, they look are each other running to him, as they rushed towards him, Azalea knew who he was before he uttered a word. She fell to her knees as she recognized the scent of her Cariad. He has always smelt like whiskey and burning firewood. She was surprised that his scent hasn't changed since they were together.

Bilbo was stunned when the Dwarrow barely looked up into Azalea's eyes, whispering 'My Fire Lily' before he passed out. They were stunned that they were reunited with James. They never expected to find him in the Shire, as a Dwarf, or have him rescue them. They were so happy that he had been reborn. They never thought they would get the chance to be with him again. Even if Azalea and he had been married in their past lives, they may be soulmates, but she knew they had to get to know each other again, and if he thought he would get a free pass without proper courtship, he had another thing coming.

Bilbo nudges Azalea, "We have to get him back to Bag End momma will be able to help him, he's hurt,"

Azalea nods and they both try to lift him but can't, Bilbo looks at her, "I'll go get Holman Greenhand and have him bring his wheelbarrow there is no way we can carry his heavy arse," Azalea nods and Bilbo runs off to their gardeners home to get his help.

Thirty minutes later Bilbo returns with Holman and a wheelbarrow, the three of them managed to barely get him up and into the wheelbarrow and head towards Bag End. Azalea runs ahead of them and runs in the door yelling for Belladonna while running to a spare bedroom to get it ready.

"Momma! Momma come quickly he's hurt; I can't lose him again!"

Belladonna runs in and Azalea grabs her hand pulling her out the door to where the others are coming up Bagshot Row towards the top of The Hill. Bungo was already out of the door and heading to his son. Belladonna speeds up to keep up with her daughter. Bilbo is telling Bungo how the Dwarf saved them from wolves when they arrive. Belladonna looks him over and ushers everyone to get him inside Bag End. They get him into the spare bedroom where Belladonna begins to remove his armor to inspect the wound. Holman helps her while Bungo ushers their children into the living room by the fireplace to warm up.

"Mistress Baggins he has a head wound also," Holman tells her.

Belladonna looks at him and nods, "I'll look at it after this wound is stitched up," she grins, "well I guess fairy tales do come true,"

"Beg your pardon Mistress," Holman looks at her.

She nods at the dwarf, "I believe my daughter has found her cariad in this dwarf,"

Holman grins, "Regular knight in shining armor then,"

Belladonna nods and the two work on the dwarf in front of them. After the wound is stitched up and smaller ones cleaned and wrapped, Holman gets a fire going in the fireplace, and Belladonna takes care of his head wound. She's happy to see a small gash and no swelling and thinks to herself that it's a good thing that Dwarrow heads are so hard.

Bungo kneels in front of his daughter, "Azalea, what's wrong my dear?"

Azalea looks at him, "Oh papa he's James, he's my cariad."

Bungo smiles, "Well I don't think the Valar would have brought him this close to you again and have him die so soon," he pats her hand then all of a sudden, his lap is full of his sobbing daughter, and he rocks her as if she is still a wee babe crying after a nightmare.

Bilbo nods, "Papa is right they won't take him yet, they have a reason for us being here, and you two will have a happy full life together this time around,"

Azalea sniffs and nods in agreement but doesn't leave her place of comfort. A knock is heard at the door and Bilbo goes to answer it knowing that it is their orders being delivered. He opens the door and instructs the others where to put everything and then sees them out. Bungo nudges Azalea up and leads her over so they can help Bilbo put things away. The three work together and then they begin making afternoon tea and get a start on the stew for dinner. When everything is ready Belladonna and Holman step out and join them after cleaning up.

Belladonna, "He will be fine with some rest,"

They chuckle as Azalea sighs in relief, which causes her to blush. Bilbo snickers at the blush, and she gives him a glare. The elder Hobbits grin at the teasing before them that the two siblings still do to each other no matter how old they get. The five Hobbits enjoy their afternoon tea, then Holman excuses himself to head home. They sit in silence for a few moments.

Azalea looks at Bilbo, "Do you think he remembers?"

Bilbo nods, "Of course he does and if he doesn't," grins, "you can beat it into him,"

This causes their parents to laugh, and Belladonna looks at her daughter, "He is here for a reason, Dwarrow has never made it this far into the Shire,"
