While the family talks amongst themselves Frerin is dreaming of the life he forgot as a prince of the Durin line. With a groan he wakes up and looks around him at a room, everything is small, almost too small for a dwarf. He sits up and gets out of bed, that's one thing he likes about being a dwarf, you can take a beating and still get up as if nothing happened. He hears voices coming from the other side of the door, they are distant though like maybe down a hallway. So, he goes out to investigate his hosts. He walks down the hall and finds a sitting room with a family talking and having tea.

Azalea, Lily his mind says, looks up and softly says, "James", in a way that is full of longing and hope.

Frerin sucks in a breath, "That's who I was once in another life."

Bilbo, Sirius his mind supplies the name of his brother in all but blood, "Who are you now?"

He gave then a bow, "Frerin, Son of Thrain, Son of Thror, a prince in exile,"

Bilbo laughs, "Oh if Moony could see you now,"

Frerin looks at Azalea and walks over to her pulling her into a kiss. Bilbo starts to cough. Azalea pulls back and smacks him, "We aren't even courting yet, you are being highly improper!"

Bilbo, "I have to agree with my sister and ask you to keep your hands to yourself for the time being,"

Frerin just blinks looking at her, "I love you, my Fire Lily," then Bilbo's statement hits him, "Sister? I think you two have a story to tell me,"

They were so happy that he had been reborn. They never thought they would get the chance to be with him again. Even if Azalea and he had been married in their past lives, they may be soulmates in this life too, she knew they had to get to know each other again, and if he thought he would get a free pass without proper courtship, he had another thing coming.

Belladonna lets out a delighted laugh and Bungo looks smug for such a gentle Hobbit, oh yes Azalea was the perfect blend of them both. Azalea leads Frerin into the room they are all sitting in. Bilbo pushes him into a chair to sit and Azalea gets him some tea and biscuits before they launch into their story by introducing their parents first. Their story lasted a while and Belladonna and Bungo started making a stew for dinner. After the Baggins siblings gave their story Frerin told his story from what happened.

When Frerin heard Bilbo's side of the story, he was angry but he didn't hold it against him as he has always been impulsive. Remus on the other hand didn't have the excuse to be locked up in prison. He failed Harry and Ruby even if he didn't know what he had done. It didn't matter that he had been grieving, he still should have looked after the children as he had promised.

When the time came for Frerin to tell his story, he was nervous. He didn't know how they would take it but he swore that he would be honest. He would never consider lying to the woman he loved or his brother.

When they heard his story, Bilbo and Azalea were stunned, but they were happy he hadn't changed much. He still loved pranks, having a good laugh, and he was loyal to his family. They wondered if he would tell his family that he was alright, but he had told them no. Not just yet. He needed time with Azalea and wanted to court her in his traditions and hers.

Besides, he didn't know how Hobbits faired surrounded by stone, since they were creatures of earth and growing things. Frerin knew he would be lost without stone for a while but his One came first. He would do anything to make her happy.

Frerin wanted to reconnect with Azalea, his Fire-Lily, and his brother. He had missed them more than anything. Over the years, living in the Shire became his home. Three years after reuniting with Bilbo and Azalea, he married Azalea. He was lucky. Most didn't get a second chance with their one true love. He vowed to never take anything for granted as he had done in his previous life.

Looking back, Frerin knew he had made many mistakes. One of them, the worst was he had been a bully in his school years. He had singled out Snape because he was different. Frerin knew he would not have been happy if someone had that to him, but there was nothing he could do.

He would never like or respect Snape, mainly because of how Bilbo had told him how Snape had treated his children. But, he vowed to do better.

But after finding out what Thranduil had done to his people, he had sworn to himself that he would never forgive him. Granted, there had been a dragon involved, but that wasn't an excuse to turn your back on those in need of medical care and shelter. It was a terrible thing to do, so Frerin and the hobbits sent the Dwarven settlements food, medical supplies, clothing, and whatever else that were needed. They wouldn't allow them to suffer.

Frerin wanted more than anything to introduce both of his families to each other, but he knew how his people viewed outsiders. Maybe over time, they could meet, but Frerin had to think of what was best for his family. Both of them.

He didn't know it, but his families were going to meet after his children hit their maturity. Change was coming towards them.
