They properly courted, but it was still short. Frerin made their rings by hand, her engagement ring has the Claddagh symbol on it, he found it fitting for their circumstances. Bungo watched while he made it and asked questions about it, and he explained to him about the symbol from their home world. He explained that the design of the Claddagh shows two hands holding a crowned heart and then explained what each symbol meant, Hands for Friendship, Crown for Loyalty, and a Heart for Love. He told him that he is using this ring to propose and that when Azalea puts it on it will be placed on her left hand on the third finger with the heart pointing outwards and that it symbolizes that she is engaged. That once they are married, the heart will be turned towards her hand to symbolize marriage. He then showed Bungo the designs for the rings and explained to him that he chose an infinity symbol going through a heart for them because it symbolizes rebirth, reincarnation, limitless love, and infinite possibilities. Bungo nods and smiles, knowing that his little girl will be in good hands with her husband.
Azalea, Bilbo, and Belladonna took care of the food and flowers, after all they are hobbits. Hobbits, after all, and no race knows food and flowers like Hobbits. Azalea picks yarrow for loyalty, alstroemeria for friendship, bleeding heart for love, jacarandas for rebirth, daisies for new beginning, snapdragons for protection, lavender for devotion, and salvia for thoughtfulness. Belladonna thought long and hard about the choices and gave her daughter approval of the way they represent her daughter and future son-in-law. Bilbo agreed that they represented them all perfectly, he also had a secret, a surprise for his brother in all but blood. He found where Frerin's family now lived and sent them an invitation to the wedding, he also sent a letter explaining what happened, he also asked for Frerin's favorite Dwarven food because he is in charge of the food and drinks. He didn't even tell his mother and father about inviting them. He just hoped they would be able to make it to the wedding.
Two weeks before the wedding and Bilbo got his response, they weren't coming. Even went so far as to call him a liar about Frerin being alive. Telling him he was cruel to play that game with his family after they lost their grandparents and parents. That he was sick in the head to do so. Bilbo was shocked and upset by this, but he pulled himself together and burnt the letter so Frerin wouldn't find it. Once it was ashes, he went to his best friend to ask him for his favorite meals. Bilbo told himself that Frerin does have family there, and it was him, they are brothers in all but blood.
Two weeks later and Bilbo was at the Party Tree double-checking everything, he was determined that they would have a perfect wedding. The decorations were perfect, the others were setting the food up the way he wanted it to be set up. He was pleased with the way things were going.
A voice behind him is cleared, "This looks like a lovely ceremony, could use some fireworks though,"
Bilbo, "The only person with those are Gandalf, and we haven't seen him in years," turns around and looks at the big person that spoke to him his eyes widen, and he gets a happy look on his face, "Gandalf! How is this possible?"
Gandalf hugs his friends' son, "Your mother has her ways, my boy. I also have fireworks,"
Bilbo, "Splendid! Well, It's time I get my future brother-in-law ready for this wedding. Care to join me?"
Gandalf, "I believe I will stay here and make sure nothing happens,"
Bilbo nods, "Thank you so much, we will be back," with that he runs off to get himself ready as well as help his father with Frerin.
Hours later the wedding went off without a problem, Gandalf was officiating the wedding for them. They were married, all they had to do was kiss, they leaned in and kissed when they were both surrounded by a gold light, the same light surrounded Bilbo as well. Their magic was returning to them, it was strong though, so strong that it overwhelmed them. Bilbo collapsed against their grandfather, panting heavily, Gandalf was holding up Frerin and Azalea. Belladonna took charge and invited everyone to start eating while they checked up on the three young ones. After the others left, Bungo demanded to know if they were okay.
Bilbo, "It is our magic, we have our magic back,"
Gandalf, "I believe there is a story here,"
Belladonna nods and tells their story to Gandalf. By the time she is done, it is just the two of them and Bilbo there. The happy couple joining their family and friends eating, drinking, and dancing.
Gandalf, "Bella, I always knew your children were miraculous, just like you. Now we should join the others,"
Bilbo, "Can I get a moment of your time alone Gandalf," Gandalf nods and stays while Bella joins her daughter and son-in-law, "You know Frerin," the wizard nods, "do not say anything to his family," he tells him what he did and the response.
Gandalf, "My dear Bilbo, I will not say anything to them, it is their loss,"
Bilbo relaxes, and they join the party, and when it gets dark the fireworks light up the sky. Gandalf then thinks to himself that when the time is right, Thorin Oakenshield will have a Hobbit for a burglar.
Months later, Dwalin arrived in the Shire, wanting to punish the one for telling such lies about their deceased prince. It never accrued to the Dwarrow race that they never found a body. They just assumed that he was dead. When he confronted Bilbo and a pregnant hobbit, he never expected to see the enraged prince.
"Dwalin, you get your weapon away from my pregnant wife!" Frerin exclaimed angrily, punching him, breaking his nose as he stood in front of his family.
"Frerin..." he stuttered in shock, holding his broken and bleeding nose. "What did you think you were doing?" Frerin asked, his eyes flashing in protective rage.
"We thought we were beinging lied to about your wedding. We had received a letter from a Bilbo Baggins of the Shire. By Dwarven law, that is a punishable offense," Dwalin explained, not wanting to get on Frerin's bad side worse than he already was.
"You will leave and not come back until you have sincerely apologized to my wife and brother," Frerin announced just as Azalea went into labor. "Frerin..." she called just as she collapsed, screaming at the first contraction. Turning towards her in a panic, Frerin never noticed Dwalin leaving with his head lowered in shame. He scooped her up into his arms, yelling for Bilbo to summon the midwife. Rosa Baggins are the great aunt of Bilbo and Azalea. She was the best midwife in the Shire. "Dwalin! Go with him, make sure no one gets in your way or delay you," he ordered, running towards Bag End. They have yet to move out, and into their own home, seeing as Azalea had been gifted with a child so soon. It was unheard of to be gifted a child so soon in both Dwarven and hobbit customs. The entire Shire knew that Frerin and Azalea has been blessed by the Valar.
Dwalin did as directed, not wanting anything to befall the young family. He may have been ordered by his prince, but he was doing this to help with the shame of how he treated the Dam. He had never treated a female so poorly, not even if they were elves. Furthermore, he hadn't meant to cause the Dam so much distress. Mahal strike him down for the way he treated her. Dam's were precious treasures and were to be treated with love and respect. After Dwalin did as directed by his prince, he left the Shire in shame. It would be years before he laid eyes upon the prince and princess. His kin would be welcome in the Shire, but he would not with what he caused. He would be invited, but Dwalin felt such shame about what he had done, that he would not bring himself to arrive.
He did not know that he had long since been forgiven. Frerin and his family understood that he had been following orders of his King, but still, Dwalin could not bring himself to visit the Shire, when invited. He comes to regret it, as he would discover, the birth of two pebbles that he had failed to meet because of his shame.
