Disclaimers: I don't own Gravity Falls or the characters. The characters I only own are Lili and Luc Pines.
Lili's POV
I was sitting on the yellow chair that belong to Gee-Pa Stan. Mabel was sitting on the arm of the chair while Dipper was pacing back and forth with the journal in his hands. I knew he was very curious and happy about finding something that isn't boring in this town. I agree. Maybe Dipper and my pa were right; there is something strange about Gravity Falls.
"It's amazing! Grunkle Stan said I was being paranoid! But according to this book, Gravity Falls this secret dark side!" said Dipper, showing Mabel a page from the journal.
I jumped off the chair, taking a spot next to Dipper with a massive smile on my face.
"Whoa! Shut! Up!" Mabel exclaimed, pushing Dipper away.
"And get this!" I chimed in excitedly, "After a certain point, the pages just… stop, like the guy who was writing it… mysteriously disappeared."
Seconds after I said that the doorbell rang. This made Dipper and me very confused.
"Who's that?" asked Dipper.
"Well, time to spill the beans," said Mabel, knocking over a can of beans that were on the table, "Bopp. Beans. This girl's got a date! Woot, woot!"
I glanced over at Dipper, who was staring at me with the same confused look on his face. How in the world did she get a date? I'm not saying Mabel shouldn't date - well, no twelve-year-old should go on a date. I'm just shocked at how she got a date quickly.
"Let me get this straight," I said stepping forward, "In the half-hour Dipper and I were gone, you already found a boyfriend?"
"What can I say? I guess I'm just IRRESISTIBLE!" Mabel exclaimed loudly, and the doorbell rang again, "Oh, coming!"
I sat back down on the yellow chair with Dipper sitting next to me. I leaned closer to Dipper, looking down at the journal. Dipper noticed this, having him move the journal so it was on both of our laps. We didn't notice someone walking into the room until we heard Gee-Pa Stan's voice, "What'cha reading there?"
Both Dipper and I jumped, having him hide the journal and I grabbed a magazine.
"I was just catching up on, uh," I started, looking at the cover, having Dipper take over, "Gold Chains For Old Men Magazine?"
"That's a good issue," commented Gee-Pa Stan.
I glanced at him with a confused look on my face before my eyes drifted back to Dipper. He shrugged, not knowing what to say to Gee-Pa (for him Grunkle) Stan. Most of the time, no one really understands Gee-Pa Stan and what he does. My pa said he does, however, I feel like Gee-Pa Stan was hiding something from us. But I cannot prove anything.
"Hey, family! Say hello to my new boyfriend!"
I looked over to say a teen boy that was wearing a dark holding. I looked at him with a disgusted look, noticing there was something off about this teen boy.
"'Sup?"
"Hey," said Dipper and me, not knowing what to think about Mabel's boyfriend.
"How's it hanging?" asked Stan, sitting down on the chair after Dipper and I removed ourselves from it.
"Mabel, where did you meet him?" I questioned her.
"We met at the cemetery. He's really deep," replied Mabel, feeling his arm, "Oh. Little muscle there. That's…what a surprise…"
"So," Dipper asked, "what's your name?"
"Uh. Normal… MAN!" shouted the teen.
I glanced at Dipper, and it seemed like I wasn't the only one that noticed the teen saying 'Normal.'
"He names Norman," laughed Mabel.
I slowly shook my head, not believing he meant to say 'Norman' instead of 'Normal.' There was something off about this teen, but I cannot place my finger on it. I narrowed my eyes, noticing red liquid dripping down his face, "Are you bleeding, Norman?"
"It's jam," he replied, not sounding sure.
"I love jam!" smiled Mabel, pointing between herself and Norman, "Look. At. This!"
"So, you wanna go hold hands or… whatever?" asked Norman.
I crossed my arms, glancing at Dipper. He was standing there with his eyes on his sister and Norman before they drifted towards me. I know for sure, my cousin and I were thinking of the same thing. Norman was not human.
"Oh, oh, my goodness," giggled Mabel, turning to us, "Don't wait up!"
Norman points at Dipper, Gee-Pa Stan, and me before he ran into the wall several times on his way out. I look at Dipper, who was staring after Norman and Mabel before he took me by the sleeve and pulled me out of the living room. He pulled me up to the attic and he sat down by the window, facing me.
"I don't trust him, Lil," said Dipper, looking at me, "There is something off about him, but I don't know what. I know I sound like an overprotective brother, but I don't want my sister near that boy."
I shrugged, not understanding that feeling. My pa was the only child Gee-Pa Stan had. And I'm my dad's only child. From what I know, I don't have siblings. I don't know if Dipper is being overprotective of his sister or not. However, I know I don't trust Norman either. There is something off by Norman, and I think Dipper and I can figure this out together.
"I agree, Dipper. We need to figure out who or what Norman is," I said, sitting next to Dipper, "I know for one thing Norman isn't human. Why don't we check the journal we found?"
Dipper gasped, opening the journal and going through it before stopping at a page with what looked like a zombie. I was confused by that, taking the journal from Dipper, and reading out loud, "Known for their pale skin and bad attitudes, these creatures are often mistaken for teenagers. Beware Gravity Fall's nefarious…"
"ZOMBIE!" yelled Dipper, making me lean away from him and giving him a side glare.
I heard laughter, turning around to see Mabel outside with Norman. I watched as Norman walked towards Mabel with outstretched arms while moaning. I'm not the only one that saw him. Dipper did too. He pushed himself against the glasses, saying in a panic, "Oh, no! Mabel! No, no, Mabel, watch out!"
Panic crept up inside of me when I watched as Norman put his hands around Mabel's neck.
"AH!" both Dipper and I yelled.
However, I calm down a bit when Norman stepped back, revealing a flower necklace. I stepped away from the window, wondering if Dipper and I were wrong. Was Norman just a normal human teen that's just awkward?
Dipper turned towards me with a confused look on his face, "Is my sister really dating a zombie, or are we just going nuts?"
"It's a dilemma, to be sure," Dipper and I heard someone say.
We jumped, seeing Soos screwing in a lightbulb.
"I couldn't help but overhear you two talkin' in this empty room," said Soos.
"Soos!" I yelled, stepping over, "You've seen Mabel's boyfriend. He's gotta be a zombie, right?"
Dipper takes a space next to me, nodding his head.
"Hmm. How many brains did ya see the guy eat?"
Both Dipper and I glanced down, replying sadly, "Zero."
"Look, dudes, I believe you," said Soos, having Dipper and I look back up at him, "I'm always noticing weird stuff in this town. Like the mailman? Pretty sure that dude's a werewolf. But ya gotta have evidence. Otherwise, people are gonna think you're a major league cuckoo clock."
"As always, Soos, you're right," Dipper said, having me agree.
I have known Soos my whole life - well, twelve years of my life since that's how long I have been on this Earth. Soos may not be the smartest, however, Soos seems to know how to give the right answer and/or advice without even trying.
"Soos! The portable toilets are clogged again!" I heard Gee-Pa yell.
"I am needed elsewhere," said Soos before he left the room.
My eyes drifted towards Dipper, who glanced over at me with a look I'm learning to know from my cousin.
"We need to find out if Norman is a zombie or not, Lili!"
I shrugged, not sure if this was a good idea, "Dipper, look, I don't think Norman is human. But is this normal? Are siblings spying on siblings? I'm an only child, and my pa is an only child. But from what my friends say about their older and younger siblings, it's not normal for them to spy on them."
Dipper placed his hands on my shoulders, "Lili, listen to me. I love my sister. Even though we haven't spent time together until this summer, I feel the same about you. Both Mabel and you are my siblings and I want to protect both of you. Sometimes, it's the brother's job to protect his siblings. Please help me figure out if Norman is a zombie or not."
I didn't want to follow Mabel not because I'm not worried. Yeah, I'm having a bad feeling about Norman, but at the same time, this can rid her trust in both Dipper and me. However, Dipper was hoping I can help him protect Mabel from Norman if he's a zombie.
The look Dipper was giving, I couldn't deny helping him to figure out who Norman was.
I nodded my head, "Okay, Dipper. I will help you look out for Mabel and figure out who Norman really is."
