"I'll always be there for you."
Her head was swimming in a murky sea of fog as her body jostled around briefly. "Come on, Kitten…," she could hear someone desperately calling out faintly. "Damn it. Breath." But she didn't really want to listen to them.
Her body was sore and achy all over, her internal organs all bruised, and she felt as if her head weighed a ton; her temples were painfully throbbing, almost incessantly, and Sakura wanted to desperately shove away the continuous pressure on her chest, but was far too weak to even move an inch.
She just wanted to sleep.
Permanently.
Liquid lava began to burn her throat as it came up and she was swiftly turned onto her side when she spewed it freely from the inside of her lungs. "That's it. Good girl," was said in that same voice, but more clearer now, and she felt one hand brush her hair off of her face tenderly, while the other one rubbed soothing circles across her back.
It was only then that she allowed her eyes to open slightly, the sun high above casting the man beside her in shadow, but the outline of his looming figure was unmistakable.
She knew him.
"S—Sasuke-kun?"
"Shh. It's alright now, Kitten. I'm here. I'll always be there for you… whenever you need me." Sakura felt her eyelids growing heavy and sighed as she collapsed back onto the dirty ground limply… panting harshly after her "near-death" experience. Sasuke looked around briefly before using his strength to hoist her gently into his arms; bridal style. The pinkette protested only slightly with a groan when her body screamed at her to stop moving… but otherwise remained completely limp in his arms. He adjusted her until her head was underneath his chin and her knees were comfortably resting on his right forearm.
"Come along. Let's get you someplace safe and warm," he whispered as he began to move. "You can rest and I'll heal you when we get there, Kitten."
With no strength left in her to protest it, she allowed him to whisk her away… briefly wondering what had happened to Naruto during the fight before consciousness slipped away from her again.
Author's Notes:
If any of these sound like your own writing or another you have read I apologize but I didn't copy anyone's work. This is entirely my own writing. As stated on Twitter, I'll be going at my own pace and not follow a daily upload schedule more than likely. I'll just post when they come to me. They'll probably be pretty short, and maybe a bit random, but I'll do my very best!
