Where have I been? Nowhere, just lazy. But I did manage to get this chapter out of the way. And now all I have to work on is the second chapter for Lights Out. Enjoy the chapter.
Inside the Les Calmers restaurant, Buster is seen with his friend, Eddie Noodleman, a sheep. "Okay, listen. We both know that my theater has been going through some pretty tough times lately. But as the saying goes "For every cloud, a sliver lining." We've got-'' Eddie interrupted him. "Buster, my dad, he heard I was gonna see you today and he was all like, "Eddie, you tell that koala I'm not funding any more of those shows and that's final!." He said as he was quoting his words. "Those were his exact words." He continued. "Well, your dad's right. Those shows were the problem. "War of Attrition", "Rosie Takes a Bow". I mean, nobody wants to see that stuff anymore. So what do I do?" Buster asked. "Quit?" Eddie said. "No. I give them a show they cannot resist, which is gonna be–" A waiter walked towards them and cleared his throat, which caused Buster to interrupt Buster. "Just one more minute, s'il vous plaít." Buster said to the waiter. The waiter then grumbled and then walked away. "Don't speak French, they speak English here." Eddie corrected him. "Now, my next show is gonna be, drumroll please…" Buster said as he was banging his fingers on the table as he was doing an actual drumroll until he stopped. "A singing competition!" he burled out. "A singing competition? Who wants to see another one of those?" Eddie asked. "Everyone! Just think, your neighbor, the… the grocery store manager, that-that-that chicken, right there! Everyone in this city gets a shot at being a star, live on my stage!" Buster said. "Buster, this is a terrible idea." Eddie said with a worried look. "Oh no, it's not. Real talent from real life. That's what audiences want, and I am gonna give it to them!" Buster said as he accidentally bangs a spoon which sends it flying across the room, hitting a bull, making him drop his cell phone in his soup. Eddie watched the whole thing and now is starting to get real worried. "Can we please just get out of here?" Eddie asked with a worried tone, while holding the menu. "Don't you want to eat?" Buster asked. "Yeah, but we can't afford any of this." Eddie said, showing him the menu. "Yes, I know, and that's why…" Buster says as he pulls out a lunch box throws a sandwich to Eddie "...I brought sandwiches." he continues. "Uh, That's not allowed, and…" Eddie groans as he sees the waiter talking to the bull and starts heading towards their table. "What, you don't like peanut butter and jelly? Okay, look, I got cream cheese, banana-" Before Buster could finish his sentence, the waiter grabs him and throws him outside, Eddie goes outside holding his jacket. "You ok?" Eddie asked. "Yep, never better." Buster said as he got on his feet.
In Buster's office, Miss Crawly is seen at her desk until Buster calls her through her intercom. "Miss Crawly?" Buster called. "Hello? Who is it?" Miss Crawly asked. "It's me. Your boss, Buster Moon." he said. "Oh, hello, Mr. Moon." Miss Crawly said. "Okay, I need you to add the following information to our publicity flyers." Buster said. "Yes, sir." Miss Crawly said. Buster puts out an old lunch box. "The winner of the singing contest will receive a grand prize of…" Buster stopped himself after opening the old lunch box and saw a little amount of cash. "...$935. Hmm. Gonna need more than that. Just a second." He said to himself as he got up and put a radio, a carpet, and a watch inside a fancy treasure chest and then shut it and then wrapped it in chains. "There. $1,000. You got it?" Buster asked. "$1,000." Miss Crawly said as the fan blows on her face too much, her glass eye pops out and it hits the zero key on the keyboard twice changing it from $1,000 to $100,000. "Print them up on every single sheet of paper we have left, and let's spread the word right away, okay?" Buster asked. "Yes sir." Miss Crawly said as she pushed the printer button and looked for her glass eye that's fallen under a stool, not realizing her mistake.
Back at Buster's office, Buster looks out the window, while inhaling deeply.
Ah, the winds of change. Yep, when the show's a hit, I'm gonna get you a fresh coat of paint." He said as he got off his chair and opened the door at Miss Crawly's office. "How are we doing with those fliers, Miss Crawly?" He asked. Miss Crawly was holding on to a whole tower of fliers. "We're all good here, sir." Miss Crawly said before the fan blows the fliers out of Miss Crawly's hands and then out of the window. "No, no, no, no, no, no!" Buster yelled. "Well, I guess that's one way to spread the world." Buster said as he watched the fliers flying everywhere outside.
The swarm of fliers float through the city and citizens stare in awe. At a train station, Ash notices a flier stuck to her boyfriend's quills. He boards the train without her. "Hey Lance, look at this!" Ash said. Lance turned around and then the train closed the doors without Ash on board. As the train pulls away, she waves the flier. At a garage, Johnny shuts the door as cops race past. A flier blows inside and he smiles as he reads it and then quickly hides in his leather jacket when his dad walks in.
At the phone store, Jack walked out of the store and was about to lock up the doors but then the yellow flier blew against the window next to the door. Jack grabbed the flier and then read it and then smiled.
At Meena's home, she was listening to music with her headphones, while pouring water on some plants in her kitchen. Her mother tapped on her shoulder, while also calling her name. Meena turned to her mom and saw that she was holding the yellow flier. Meena reads it and then smiles.
At the park, a nun throws the flier aside and then it lands on Mike. "Hey, hey, hey! What do ya think you're–" Mike stopped himself after seeing the flier and then read it and then smiled.
It was late at night, Rosita was doing dishes, while talking on the door, holding it with her cheek. A yellow flier blows against her window. She reads it and then dropped the phone into the sink and smiled widely.
