"A secret crush."
"I don't like it." Her lips formed a scowl as she pushed her glasses higher up her nose and Sasuke rolled his eyes at the gesture. It wasn't the first time she'd rejected his idea, and he knew that it certainly wouldn't be the last.
He tossed his pen on the table and leaned back in his seat with a tired sigh. The jock was fully regretting his decision to accept this as a means of getting extra credit so he'd be able to continue playing sports this year. They had a game in two weeks, and he needed to help finish this yearbook before then; otherwise he wouldn't be allowed to play.
"What don't you like about it..," he asked through his teeth, closing his eyes and counting to ten as the class nerd did her best to make his life miserable.
"First of all," she huffed as she pointed to his drawing, "the lines are all over the place here.. and not symmetrical." He leaned forward in his seat and roughly scrubbed his hands down his face before running his fingers through his hair.
"It's supposed to be like that, Sakura. It's called… art." She crossed her arms briefly and gave him a dirty look.
"You call that art?"
"I'd like to see you do something better." He shoved a pen and piece of paper towards her and crossed his arms over his chest, silently waiting for her to accept the challenge. It didn't take very long before she let out an angry groan and grabbed the supplies. He smirked and leaned backward in his chair again before boredom had him glance around the room.
He noticed a pair of brown eyes watching him from across the room and his smirk only grew. The cheerleader (Ami… he thinks her name is) gave him a flirtatious little wink and swayed her hips suggestively as a means of invitation. He would have loved nothing more than to go over to her and distract himself with the company of this woman, but knew that he had to get done with this yearbook. The game was far more important to him than some random chick… who only wanted to suck his face and fuck him in the sanctuary and privacy between some hidden shelves in the back of the school's library.
He gestured with his head towards Sakura and rolled his eyes, showing her his annoyance. Ami pouted her lips and made a hand signal for him to call her, which he nodded in agreement to. He probably wouldn't call her though.
He really only had time for work, school, and sports. That didn't mean he didn't mind the occasional flirting. He also didn't mind the kissing, but refused to go further or give the girl the wrong impression. He wasn't interested in anything serious; he found that most girls in the school were snobby and only after status or sex anyway.
Nothing serious.
Which is why Sasuke only ever gave them a little taste of him before sending them on their way. This girl Ami was an exception because she was so persistent. If she hadn't been such a slut, he may have considered her as an ideal girlfriend… smart, funny, attractive… but she gave herself up too easily (he'd heard plenty of stories) and refused to be another name added to her list of conquests.
Lately, she's had her sights set on him for a while, but he was starting to shift away from his past ideals and had his sights set on another—
"Hey, focus!" Sakura quiet-yelled as she shoved the paper she had been working on towards him. "Here, what do you think?" He leaned in and nodded, honestly impressed with her penmanship and artistic talents. He'd never known she could draw and silently wondered what else he could learn about her the more time they spent together.
"It's fine. Let's just use it and get this over with," he stated to redirect her attention from him to the task at hand.
Sakura huffed and rolled her eyes before tucking a strand of hair behind her right ear… nudging her glasses back up with the tip of the pen. He reached over… ignoring the way his heartbeat quickened…and grabbed a few of the photos from their large stack; placing them randomly across the paper. "Good?"
"Good…," she said with a nod, before using some tape to hold them in place. Moving on to the next few pages was a breeze as they worked together in unison to try and finish this year's yearbook before the final semester begins.
Author's Notes:
If any of these sound like your own writing or another you have read I apologize but I didn't copy anyone's work. This is entirely my own writing. As stated on Twitter, I'll be going at my own pace and not follow a daily upload schedule more than likely. I'll just post when they come to me. They'll probably be pretty short, and maybe a bit random, but I'll do my very best!
