DECLAIMER: I do not own Naruto, the anime or the characters. They belong to Masashi Kishimoto.

Heya guys! Sorry again for the short chapter last time; I'll try to make it longer this time, but no promises. This is the second chapter of Blanketing Memories, and I hope you enjoy it! I don't mind the hateful comments, however, I would prefer constructive criticism if possible.

PS: I'm using Italic font for thoughts now and normal font for the characters' speech. I forgot to mention in the previous chapter but this story is a ROMANCE fic not suspense, my brother posted it for me and messed the genre up so, now yu know.

Enjoy!! 。‿。

I was only six years old when I joined the ninja academy; still a child, but also a prodigy. Surrounded by other children, ages ranging from 6 to 8, and their proud parents behind them, we stood at attention as we listened to the third Hokage's speech on the importance of diligence and hard work.

The young ravenette glanced to his left, striking blue eyes met with his own emotionless onyx colored ones, her silver locks occasionally blocking one of her peepers from his view.

"Hi," a soft voice spoke, no whispered. The word was almost inaudible as it left her lips. "Hi," came the boy's equally soft response. A small smile crept onto the frail-looking girl's lips, and she turned away once more, intent on listening to the Third Hokage's speech.

'What a strange girl,' the boy thought, observing her from the corner of his eye and noticing a light pink tint on her cheeks. He stared at her for a moment longer, catching her glance back at him before quickly turning her head back to the leader of their village. This continued on for about ten minutes until the end of the Hokage's long and tiring speech.

One by one, the students' names were called by their assigned homeroom teachers. Slowly, the children filed into orderly lines in front of their Chuunin instructor. "Uchiha Itachi," a tall, middle-aged man with a scar running down the right side of his face, called out the boy's name and motioned for him to walk to the back of the line.

The strange girl eventually left his mind as he focused more on the day ahead. When lunch finally came around Itachi, wanting privacy from his persistent fanclub, chose to eat his lunch on the academy's roof while enjoying the view of his beloved village.

Looking over the playground, he saw two of his upperclassmen bullying the same girl from this morning. He decided to observe for a moment longer, then struck.

OC's POV

When lunch roled around I was one of the last to leave my classroom. I preferred to not be crushed by the older kids in my class. My short structure had always been a problem so I wasn't at all surprised by the fact that getting onto the swing in the corner of the playground was hard.

"Damn, I wish I was taller."

I started to eat my lunch when someone ran straight into my back knocking my bento out of my hands and onto the dirt floor. I fell to the ground with what used to be my lunch. I was still on the ground, stunned from the impact, when the upperclassmen that knocked into me got up from his position on the ground, an enraged expression on his face.

"I'm sorr-"

Before I could finish my apology I was lifted up by my collar and held near his face. I try to struggle but soon found my efforts meaningless and stopped wasting my energy. The older boy started talking, but I was too busy trying to escape to catch what he was saying. My lack of attention seemed to enrage him even more as he raises his fist to either attack or just scare me.

Everything seemed to move faster as a black and blue blur moved behind my assailant, not a moment later he let go of me and fell to the ground. My savior, the boy from this morning, Uchiha Itachi if I remembered correctly, extended his hand for me to get up and I excepted it.

"Are you alright?",Itachi asked me as he helped me get up.

"Yes, Uchiha-san, thank you for saving me.", I bowed slightly and gave him the same smile I did this morning.

"Hm, good, no problem."

And that's it, chapter 2, hope you liked it. Like I promised it's longer but not quite as long as I'd hoped. As always please review, I don't mind the hate comments but I'd prefer constructive criticism.(ᴗ)
