DISCLAIMER:I unfortunately do not own Naruto or any of it's characters. They belong to Masashi Kishimoto. The only thing that belongs to me is my OC. So sad.

Heya guys, welcome back to blanketing memories. Sorry for not updating yesterday, I guess you could say I was...busy? Well anyway, the story's genre has been corrected, (I'm so happy). Let me know what you thought of their first two encounters in the previous chapter and as always please review, I don't mind the hate comments but I'd prefer aome constructive criticism. With that ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!

Itachi's POV

It's been an entire week since I started attending the academy and things have been going smoothly. My sensei, Ichiro-sensei, has considered transferring me to the next grade since I seem to be above the level of the rest of my class, not that I know them. He spoke with my parents and they've agreed to transfer me as soon as they could fill in the necessary paperwork for it to happen.

As always I walked to training ground 3 where I usually had my training sessions with my cousin, Shisui Uchiha. He informed me earlier that he was going to be late because of his latest mission. So I chose to train alone, life wouldn't wait for Shisui to help me improve.

The field I was going to was usually empty so I wasn't expecting someone to be occupying the area, but this was one of those rare occasions when I was wrong accu with my prediction. Someone was there, and not just anybody, it was the girl from the first day. I hadn't seen her since the incident with our upperclassmen and she had completely slipped my mind.

I couldn't see clearly through the thick branches and leaves blocking my sight but it seemed like she was practicing her kunai and shuriken accuracy.

Her stance and grip were slightly sloppy but other than that she was pretty good, especially for our age.

I continued observing her from a distance in my position on one of the trees' branches. I don't know why I chose to hide and observe this strange girl but it soon came to an end when she called me out.

OC's POV: (around 1 hour before Itachi left for training ground 3)

I often go train in training ground seven but it was currently being occupied by a man, Jonin by my guess with pineapple style hair, a lazy air around him, and his (probably) Genin team. Not wanting to draw attention to myself I turned away the moment I saw their figures and headed instead to training ground three, which was the closest to my current location.

Ten minutes later, after reaching my intended destination, I began my usual routine. I wasn't, however, expecting a family presence to enter my area. It belonged to Uchiha Itachi, the boy that saved me from that academy second year. At first I expected him to leave considering his closed off demeanor but he didn't, he just stared at me from some tree branch and to be honest, it was kinda creeping me out.

Mustering up what little courage I had I called his name.

"Uchiha-san, you can come out now."

My back was turned to him so I couldn't see the expression on his face. He was a prodigy, a genius after all he must have been surprised to have an orphan, with no trainer, sense him.

The ravenette walked out of the foliage, a stoic expression on his face and a certain calming air surrounding the young Uchiha heir. His stride came to a standstill when her stopped in front of the younger girl.

A moment of silence engulfed the two students, neither comforting, or suffocating. It was broken by the soft spoken words of the silver haired girl.

"You can train here if you want, I'll leave-"

Her sentence was broken off by Itachi, shaking his head in disapproval, as he turned to leave.

"You were here first and it would be unfair of me to send you away, even if you offered."

"Then why don't we share, I know from the confessions fellow academy students have that you aren't much of a socialist, but if it's not too much to ask, could you help me with my training?"

This stopped him in his tracks and he seemed to think it over for a moment but at last agreed to the small girl's request. This seemed to brighten her mood as she got into her Taijustu stance with the same small smile she gave him during their previous encounters.

He soon followed suit and the two had their first of many spars. As expected, the girl had lost, but she held her own for five minutes without prior training to relay on, and if trained correctly she could become a terrifying beast on the field.

For four gruesome hours they trained and trained and trained until the point of collapse. Itachi lay there on the ground next to the sleeping girl, staring at the darkening sky above them, like a curtain about to be closed upon this world.

By the time the stars started to show she woke up. They stared at each other, the dim light shining on their figures like a veil of light blanketing over them.

Her smile fell and a frown took it's place, a confused expression plastering onto her face.

"What time is it?"

Curiosity filled her soft and gentle voice. Her voice was always like that but sleep seemed to intensify her child like voice. Fitting for their age.

"It should be around seven right now."The ravenette answered in his usual stoic voice. "I think it's time we head home." He stood up, dusted off his pants and, just like before, extended his hand to her, waiting patiently for hers.

"Thank you for helping me, Uchiha-san."

"It's fine."

As she took the offered hand their eyes briefly met and in those mesmerizing onyx coloured pupils, she could see the pain the boy had gone through in his short six years of life.

'He's always offering me a hand when I fall. I wonder, who offers the same to him?' She thought as he lifted her from the ground once more.

"I can walk you back to the orphanage."

"That won't be necessary Uchiha-san. Your parents must be worried about you."

"Itachi."

Her smile returned at that moment and with that she turned and left.

'I wonder, did I ever give him my name?'

Her head turned back towards the raven haired boy and she called his name.

"Itachi!"

"Yes?"

"Honoka, Chiba Honoka."

And there you have it, chapter 3 finished! What do you guys think? Am I doing a good job so far? Well review and let me know what you think of this one. So far I've written 3 of their encounters and I'm feeling pretty good. Let's just hope I can finish this story. Bye bye!
