HONOKA's POV
It had been two weeks since I became a Genin, myself and my other two teammates passed our Jonin instructor's little test and are now officially team 3. Even though Itachi has been getting more and more missions lately we still find time to train like we used to.
That was what we'd been doing now, till one of my two blades chipped from the force I used to slam it into my opponent's kunai. Then he stopped the spar and held out his hand, wanting to take a better look at my now useless wakizashi.
'Well they lasted 5 years, I knew I couldn't fight with them forever.'
I handed my companion my blade and pulled my other one from a scroll Shisui- sensei gifted me. This one wasn't as damaged as the other one, it would probably last another half a year before the same fate fell upon it.
Sighing, I placed it back in it's sheath and sealed it back in the scroll. I looked back up to the Chuunin, his gaze unmoving from the crack in the short blade. He was thinking, entrapped within his own thoughts. I have seen him like this before, it happened often enough for me to know.
Time passed by in slow ticks, silence falling upon the male and female pair. the howling wind being the only sound within hearing range.
'What could he be thinking about?'
Her answer came not an eternity later as the boy she'd been staring at lifted his gaze from her broken blade, instead boring into the younger girl's eyes.
"Come with me."
It was short, but she'd long ago gotten used to this particular child's quiet nature. Upon hearing his words she stood from her place on the comforting grass. Picking up what little of her gear was lying around she silently placed them where they belonged and followed her best friend to an unknown destination.
When the two stopped it was in front of on of Konoha's best weapon shops. The ravenette opened the door and walked inside, holding the door open for his friend. Greeting the store-owner they walked to the back of the store dedicated to swords.
The young girl's eyes lit up when they landed on the different blades. She was too young and short to use most of them so she moved to the wakizashi's, curiosity gleaming in her electrifying blue orbs.
"Are you interested in trying one of them little one?"
The caring voice of the store-owner reached her ears, stopping her fit of giggles she turned to the elderly man and bowed asking if she could.
"Of course."
The man removed one of the weapons from the sword stand and handed it to her. Before he could try to explain to her how she should wield the dangerous blade, she already started moving through her katas, moving with as much grace as a 10 year old could muster up.
"She knows what she's doing?"
"She's had a master."
"Oh, I see."
"I'll take the blade as well as two sets of shuriken and kunai, one role of ninja wire and 5 sealing scrolls."
The two males whispered as Itachi pulled out the money for the items he requested. The man looked slightly suspicious, most likely wondering where the boy would get the money for it, then his eyes landed on the Chuunin vest the boy wore and quickly got the items ready.
"Do you want it?"
"Yes but I don't think I can afford it, you know Genin pay isn't that much."
"I can buy it for you."
"You don't have to, Itachi."
Before the girl could continue arguing the boy walked away, stopping at the counter and accepting the bag offered by the store-owner and giving him the needed money for the products. They waled out of the building and Itachi offered her the bag of equipment.
"You didn't have to do that Itachi, I can work with the weapons I have."
"I wanted to. Take it."
He once again offered the bag to her and this time she hesitantly too it from his grasp. The usual soft smile graced her lips, the sun shining down on her, making it seem like she was glowing. His lips once again curled into a smile.
ITACHI's POV
'Only she could make me smile like this. Only she could make me feel this warm. Only in her presence causes me this much joy. This girl with her silver hair, and her electrifying blue eyes, only with her by my side can I truly feel happiness.'
HONOKA's POV
'He is alway so kind to me, he didn't have to by me this, he could've just let me by my own weapons, but he didn't. He gave me these weapons but he did. He doesn't have to show me this much kindness, but he does. He doesn't have to show me that smile, but he does.
I'm just an orphan, a nobody. He's the heir of the Uchiha clan, a genius, a prodigy. That's what people see him as, but that's not the entire him. Uchiha Itachi is a kind and gently soul, he's always been quiet and always will be. He's strong, yes, but he'd never brag about it. He's caring when it comes to those close to him. That's why he kept searching for me when I was kidnapped, even though everyone else had already given up all hope.
Uchiha Itachi the boy I met on our first day in the academy is my friend.
Uchiha Itachi the boy that told me his reason for becoming a ninja is my friend.
Uchiha Itachi is the one I...'
As the two walked back to the Uchiha compound a deep red blush appeared on the sliver haired female's cheeks at what she was about to think.
Confusion was evident on her companion's face as he lifted his hand to her forehead, pressing his cold fingers on her hot skin and causing a deeper blush to spread across her already red cheeks.
"Are you alright Honoka? You're burning up."
"I- I'm f- fine, Itachi."
She managed to stammer out, taking a step back. Her heart was racing, almost to the point of bursting from her chest. She took a deep breath, calming down her leaping heart. That seemed to work as she was able to form a decent sentence.
"I'm fine, Itachi, really. Thank you for buying me these but I think I need to go now."
As she said her goodbye she waved and turned away from the still worried boy.
"Tadaima, Okaa-san."
"Okaerinasai, Itachi."
He greeted his mother as he eventually got home from the long day. Still confused about his friend's actions earlier, he asked his mother.
"Okaa-san?"
"Yes, Itachi?"
"Is it normal for a girl to just start blushing, heat up and then start stammering?"
His mother's eyes started glinting as she asked him which girl acted like that.
"Honoka did."
She burst into a fit of giggles and told him that he'd understand later on in life.
That's it, the end of this chapter. How's my fic going so far? Let me know in a review, as always I don't mind the hate comments but I'd prefer constructive criticism.
PS. I've planned this fic so that it has 10 chapters, I still haven't gotten used to writing long fics so sorry.
