Of dates and kisses
Notes: This story takes place like a week after the events of my other story. *Some summer fun is how it started* Basically this is their first date together.
P.s hunter was adopted by Eda and Raine, they also know about their relationship and are the only ones that know about it though hunter and gus aren't exactly trying to hide it they just haven't told anyone else.
It was early in the morning in the owl house where two love birds are currently sleeping. Well that is until gus stirred awake due to his wonderful palismen named Emmiline Bailey Marcostimo, moving from where they slept on his stomach and going down the little palisman stairs so they could get on and off the bed.
Gus just watched his palismen go through the little door hunter had made so their palismen could come in and out of the room.
Probably to go and eat their palismen food, Gus thought to himself, still tired from being woken.
Blinking his eyes slowly trying to wake up a bit more. After a couple of seconds of blinking he looked to his left to see the beautiful sight of his boyfriend, Hunter, laying on his side facing him, still sleeping, gus couldn't help but poke his adorable cheeks! He moved his hand slowly and pushed his finger on the soft skin. Hunter not waking up, but shifting a bit to lay on his back.
Gus couldn't help giggling to himself. After a couple more pokes to hunters cheeks, Hunter started to wake up from his slumber slowly fluttering his eyes open to wake up more.
Gus smiling at him and poking his cheek again said "Good morning sleeping beauty welcome back to the land of the living" he said.
Hunter, still tired, just stuck his tongue out at Gus for waking him up from his sleep by poking him over and over again.
Gus let out an offended gasp pretending to cry and be hurt.
Not even a good morning back I thought you loved me!
Hunter just laid there thinking he accidentally hurt Gus's feelings.
"Nooooo gus I'm sorry" he pulled Gus into a hug saying good morning and I love yous over and over again not seeing the way Gus smirked.
All of a sudden hunter was laying on his back with Gus on top of him smiling mischievously down at him then and there hunter knew Gus planned this and faked the sadness.
"Looks like you fell for my little trick hunter" gus said smirking clearly happy about tricking him
Hunter nervously just laid there with a tint of blush coating his cheeks.
"H-heh what are you doing gus" hunter asked
Oh nothing just gonna….
Gus quickly put his hands under hunters shirt tickling him.
The sudden onslaught of tickles made hunter squeal and laugh out loud.
Hunter trying to get gus off of him so he can escape wasn't able to move due to laughing too much.
With tears in his eyes, Hunter had said
"Gusss p-pleAse stahpp-!" hunter was cut off by gus tickling him faster
Gus, giving him pity, decided to give him an out.
"If you want me to stop." Gus said with a smirk
"Then go on a date with me today."
Hunter blushing heavily from both laughing and from what Gus said.
"Ok! Ok! Just stahp tickling me!" Hunter laughed out.
Gus, happy with the answer, stopped tickling him and just watched Hunter regain his breath.
After a few moments of hunter calming down he just laid there like a starfish relaxing for a moment.
Gus decided to go between hunters legs and just plopped himself on hunter laying his head where his chest is relaxing.
Hunter put his hand on Gus's hair playing with it for a couple of minutes.
After about 10 minutes of cuddling, Hunter decided it was time to get up since it's already past 9 a.m.
"Alright it's time to get up, Gus," Hunter said, patting Gus's back.
"Five more minutes please." Gus said not wanting to get up yet.
"But gus, didn't you just ask me to go on a date with you?" Hunter had said.
Gus shot up, flailing off the bed and falling on his butt quickly stood up, grabbed a pair of clothes he brought with him to change into and ran to the bathroom so he could get ready.
Hunter sat there and chuckled at what just happened, stood up and got changed himself mentally preparing himself for the first date that they are going to be having since they got together.
(What they are both dressed in)
Hunter was the first to finish changing so he sat on the bed waiting for gus to come out so they could head out for their date. Date, hunter was about to go on a date with the person he loves the most on the boiling isles. He couldn't help the smile on his face, after all this was a milestone small but big to hunter.
Hunter turned his head to the sound of the bathroom door being opened. He couldn't help the tint of blush at seeing how amazing gus looked.
Gus after changing came out to the beautiful sight of his boyfriend waiting for him with a smile on his face. He was just standing in front of the closed door admiring his amazing boyfriend and gus couldn't help but want to get this day started sooner.
After a few moments of just admiring each other, Gus opened his arms inviting Hunter for a hug before they left.
Hunter seeing his lover open his arms quickly stood up walking to Gus and getting pulled into a tight hug by him, hunter just smiled and hugged just as tight.
Hunter, starting to blush more, couldn't help but to compliment his lover's looks right now.
"You look quite amazing Gus"
Hearing this made Gus blush and he couldn't help but smile and compliment his lover back.
"You look quite amazing yourself my love"
Gus replied, making Hunter blush a bit more.
Chuckling at hunter reaction gus broke the hug grabbing his boyfriends hand and opened the door so they can leave the room.
After opening the door they left the room hand in hand going down stairs to get a quick lunch and breakfast made so they could eat before they left, and for while they were on their date.
Before heading to the kitchen hunter poked Gus's shoulder signaling for him to look at the couch seeing raine and eda who seem to have fallen asleep on the couch watching the crystal ball.
They weren't the only ones on the couch though owlbert and the other palismen are also there all fast asleep on different parts of the couch.
So not wanting to accidentally wake anyone up they silently went to the kitchen so they could get breakfast ready for everyone.
After they made breakfast they went to wake up everyone so they could eat besides the palismen since they have their own food they eat.
Going to the living room, Hunter went to wake up raine and Gus went to wake up eda and quickly explained that they made breakfast for everyone so they all made their way to the kitchen and sat down.
While they were eating breakfast, Raine, being more awake and acutely aware of their surroundings, quickly noticed the way Gus and Hunter were dressed.
"Seems like you guys are doing something important today seeing as how you're both dressed." Raine mentioned.
At the mention of this eda turned and looked at both of them as well taking account of how they both were dressed.
"Yea, Raine's right, why are you both dressed like that?"
Both hunter and gus had a hue of blush spread across their faces so hunter explained what they were doing today.
"Well gus wanted to go on a date today… soo… we plan on going to the park you know the one on the other side of Bonesborough where you go into the forest and it's just a little ways in?"
Eda and raine both nod.
Well we wanted to go there since it's quieter and no one really goes there anyways so we thought it would be perfect so we can spend the day with just the two of us. We're also going to take lunch with us so when we are hungry we can set down a blanket in a sort of picnic type of way. We already have sandwiches and drinks prepared in a picnic basket with the blanket on the side of it."
After hearing this, Raine and Eda nodded their heads in acknowledgment.
The rest of breakfast was spent eating in a nice and peaceful silence after everyone was done raine took the dishes to the sink to wash later and went back to the dining table.
Eda and raine decided to give hunter and gus 2 hundred snails each in case they wanted to buy something while they were out.
"Here frome me and eda" raine said handing 200 snails to hunter and gus each.
Hunter quickly tried to decline.
"We don't need this much!"
Gus also agreed with hunter.
Yea we're just going on a date In the park.
But before either of them could say anymore, Eda spoke up.
"We want the both of you to have the best first date you can have. So take it with you in case you want to get something for each other alright, also take these backpacks if you buy anything."
Hunter and Gus, knowing they wouldn't win in this argument, relented and accepted the backpacks, slipping them over their shoulders and taking the snails that were given to them.
Hunter thanked the two people who adopted him, and gave him a home to live in.
Gus thanked them as well but left to go get the basket and blanket so they could get going.
Hunter grabbed the basket from Gus and let him carry the blanket. But before leaving, Hunter hugged both Eda and raine.
Thanking them both then he made his way to gus grabbing his hand.
Before they left, Hunter yelled out a bye to Eda and raine them both yelling a bye as well.
As Eda and Raine watch them leave they couldn't help but be happy for hunter.
Hunter and Gus close the door and begin their walk to the park so their date can officially begin.
While walking hand in hand down the path from the house both hunter and gus enjoying the silence that came over them on their walk could see the entrance to Bonesborough where they have to pass through to find the park that's a bit outside of it.
While walking, gus had spotted some stands selling jewelry, food, and a bunch of other items giving gus an idea for the 200 snails they had gotten from eda and raine.
"Hey hunter".
"Yes gus?" Hunter stopped walking and looked towards his boyfriend.
"There's a bunch of stands over there!" "I have an idea how we can spend the snails!"
Hunter looked towards the stands and smiled.
"Ok what's your idea?"
"We have to spend all 200 snails that we both got on gifts for each other, then after our date we reveal the items and give them to each other!" Gus said very happy with his idea.
Hunter thinking it over for a couple of seconds smiled and agreed.
Both now walk towards the stands letting go of each other's hands so they can go look for the desired gifts.
"Alright, Hunter says, letting go of Gus's hand. We will meet back here in 20 minutes alright."
Gus nodded in agreement.
"Alright, 20 minutes should be enough time." Gus said.
Leaving with a quick hug and cya later Gus left with the blanket and Hunter left with the basket both carrying a backpack which Gus put the blanket in so it would be easier to carry.
Hunter, knowing the types of items he wanted to buy, went down the aisle of market shops for 4 minutes before finding the stand he wanted.
The stand is full of jewelry like the one they saw at the beginning of the market full of stands.
The stand seems to be run by a kind looking lady who seems to be in her late 40's talking to another customer.
Looking over the jewelry hunters eyes land on a lot of different options he wants to pick for gus but also himself because he has an idea for later.
While browsing the lady came over and apparently finished talking to the other person.
"Hello, my name is Mellow may I be of assistance in finding anything?" The person now named mellow asked.
"Oh hi, um yes please I'm looking for jewelry for a surprise gift today." Hunter said nervous since he isn't a very social person.
"Hmm, a surprise gift? Do you maybe know what type of jewelry you're looking for?" Mellow asked.
Hunter nervously scratched the back of his neck.
"Somewhat yes."
Mellow, noticing how nervous he was, opted to go slow for him.
"Alright, so what type are you aware you want right now."
Hunter nodded.
"Um, well, I'm looking for 10 pieces of jewelry: 4 earrings, two necklaces, two rings, and 2 good luck charms that are customized."
Mellow nodding to everything he said.
"Alright, that shouldn't be too hard. I have a bunch of those items and different themes!" Mellow said smiling.
"Ok let's get started on this search, it shouldn't take too long."
Hunter happily started looking at the jewelry.
He was at the jewelry stand for 7 minutes in total before he left..
In total it cost about 130 snails.
After leaving the jewelry stand hunter started looking for 1 more gift he could get gus.
Walking for at least 2 more minutes, Hunter found a shop he doesn't know if gus would like a gift from but he's gonna try anyway.
A toy shop.
Hunter makes his way towards the stand seeing all of the stuffed animals knowing it might be a bit hard to pick one not knowing what animal Gus likes.
After looking through the stuffed animals he decided on the giraffe remembering Gus mentioned something about them before.
After paying for the giraffe which had cost him 20 snails he left looking for the next stand.
That took him 2 minutes making him have 5 minutes before having to meet back with gus luckily for Hunter he saw a stand of chocolates so now backtracking towards where he saw the stand hunter sped walk to try and save time so he isn't late.
After 2 minutes of walking back he found the stand that was selling chocolate knowing the type of chocolate gus liked made it much faster for hunter to buy it.
After a minute, Hunter was able to leave so he could make it back to the meeting point. In total the chocolate cost 40 snails. He bought 2 boxes of chocolates since it was 20 snails a box 1 for gus and 1 for eda and raine.
Though hunter realized he had a small problem.
The problem is he only has 2 minutes left since he didn't want to make gus wait. He picked up the pace carefully not to mess the food up in the basket and the stuff he just bought.
(A bit of gus's pov)
While Gus was looking for the 3 gifts he wanted to get hunter, he found a shop that had a lot of stuffed animals.
While walking up to the stand he could see something he thought Hunter would like. A bird plush.
He asked the stand owner, a young man with a kind smile, how much is it for the bird plush.
(The bird is called a Magpie)
"Hello good sir." Gus asked the man with a smile.
"Why hello there young man, see anything you want?" The kind man said.
"Um, yes, how much is it for this bird plush?"
"Ah, it's 30 snails."
Gus happily paid for the stuffed bird, and thanked the man before leaving.
Walking down the path he saw a stand selling boxes of chocolates. Walking towards the stand he quickly scanned the options while the person who owned the stand was talking to someone else.
Finding what he wanted he had to wait for the nice lady to finish talking to the person.
"Hello young man, find anything you want?" The lady had asked.
"Ah yes, these ones please."
"Alright, that would be 30 snails."
"Yes mam." Gus said
After paying for the chocolate gus had started walking down the path again.
While walking gus found a jewelry stand giving gus an idea for something, with a smile gus quickly walked to the stand.
"Hello sir." Gus said, catching the attention of the person who owns the stand.
"While Hello there young man" the guy smiles down at him.
"Anything you looking for?"
"Yes, do you happen to have any lockets? The ones where we can put pictures in." Gus asked
"Why yes, I do, I have a couple of options, let me grab them for you."
Gus nodded and waited for the guy to come back.
The man came back with a couple of options, but Gus's eyes landed on a single 1 of them that can hold 4 photos.
"How much is this one?" Gus asked.
"That's 60 snails, is that the one you want?" The man asked.
"Yes, yes it is." Gus replied.
After paying, Gus put all 3 of the gifts in the backpack on top of the blanket.
In total, Gus spent 120 snails. Leaving him with 80 snails left.
Not knowing what else to spend it on he just left back towards the meeting point.
After making it back to the meeting point he checked his scroll showing that he had 6 minutes left till the time was up, so he sat down on the bench and now waited for hunter.
(Back to hunter)
As he was walking he could see gus sitting on a bench waiting for him since he got done finding gifts faster than Hunter did.
Gus, noticing hunter, got up leaving the stuff on the bench and started walking towards him.
When Gus got close enough to Hunter he was pulled into a hug.
Gus just smiled.
"Missed you too even though we were only apart for 20 minutes or so."
Hunter smiling.
"Well 20 minutes is a long time in my book." Hunter had replied with a smile showing his tooth gap.
Gus just sighed in amusement with a small laugh he grabbed hunters hand and pulled him towards the bench hunter of course just let him.
When they had gotten to the bench, Gus sat down, bringing Hunter with him. They both just sit, enjoying each other's company smiling and holding hands still for a couple of minutes.
Hunter was the first to say something.
"Hey, are you ready to go so we can get to the park?" He said with a smile
Gus, adoring Hunter's beautiful smile nodded in response. "Yea let's get to the park so we can officially start our date." He replied with his own smile.
They both stood up and grabbed all the stuff. Hunter his backpack and the basket, and Gus with his backpack that held the blanket and his chosen gifts.
Hunter grabbing Gus's hand intertwining their fingers together began to walk as Gus followed right beside him.
As they both walk towards the other side of Bonesborough where the forest is since the park is a little ways in the forest, Gus decided to ask Hunter about when they should tell the others about their relationship.
"Hey hunter?"
Hunter turning his head towards Gus asked.
"Yea."
Gus looking up towards hunter asked. "When do you think we should tell the others about our relationship?"
Hunter thought for a minute as they kept walking.
"Maybe when we have a get-together again at Mrs Camila's house since we're meeting them there in 2 weeks."
Gus nodded
"Yea that sounds like a good idea since we would be able to tell both the group, vee and Camila."
Hunter nodding it will be much easier to do that then when everyone is split up and us needing to explain it many times.
As they were talking they didn't realize that the forest was in sight now just about 10 minutes away.
After noticing how close the forest that leads to the park was they both speed up excitement building up because their first date is about to start soon.
After finally making it to the forest they both start heading down the path towards the park.
On their way down the path hand in hand gus was listening to hunter rambles about all the wildlife in the forest that they could see.
Gus was listening as much as he could to hunters rambling but wasn't able to focus on it as much.
The reason being is the person that's rambling.
He couldn't look away; he was mesmerized.
By how beautiful hunter looked in the sunlight.
From the clothes he was wearing, to his face where his adorable tooth gap is, and his eyes.
His beautiful dark magenta eyes.
Gus could look at them for hours and eventually get lost in them.
This went on for 10 more minutes where they eventually made it to the park putting a stop to hunters ramblings and with a smile they went in.
Now in the park they had found a spot that was grassy and flat. Laying the blanket down so they could have something to lay on.
and now their date officially starts.
As they lay on the blanket holding hands they are just looking into the sky basking in the warmth that surrounds them whether it's from the sun or from the warm feeling they hold close when they're together.
The silence is broken when Gus points out a cloud that is sort of shaped like a flower.
"Oh, oh look, that cloud looks sort of like a flower!"
Hunter smiles at Gus's excitement and looks up towards the clouds and where Gus is pointing.
"Huh, I can kinda see how it looks like a flower."
Hunter looking around at the other clouds spots one that looks somewhat like a witch walking.
"That one looks somewhat like a witch walking." Hunter says pointing towards the cloud.
Gus is looking at the area hunter is pointing at.
"Oh!"
"It does somewhat resemble a witch walking!" Gus says smiling.
After cloud watching for a bit longer pointing out more clouds and what they look like.
Hunter's stomach rumbles not loud but enough for gus to hear.
Gus looks towards hunter and sees an embarrassed hunter covering his face to hide his red face. Although covering his face isn't helping much when his ears are a dead give away to his emotions.
Gus couldn't help but tease him.
Gus with a smug little face said.
"Are you hungry?"
"Hunter?"
All hunter could do was nod, not wanting to embarrass himself anymore.
Gus couldn't help but to laugh a bit at Hunter's embarrassment.
Alright let's get the food ready. I'm getting hungry myself anyway.
Hunter finally pulled his hands away from his face that's starting to go back to its normal color and agreed.
Hunter grabbed the basket from right beside him, putting it on the left of them both.
Hunter grabbed the sandwiches they had made earlier while Gus grabbed their drinks, water for Hunter and a juice that Gus wanted.
Hunter set the plate of sandwiches and unwrapped the saran wrap that was covering the food so it didn't get dirty and destroyed on the walk to the park.
Setting the plate down in the middle of them, Gus gave Hunter his water as well.
As they enjoyed the food they prepared earlier a noise has pulled both of their attention away from the food and towards the bushes where a small fox watched them both.
Hunter could tell it wanted food so he grabbed one of the sandwiches and got up slowly and walked towards the fox so as to not spook it away. After getting halfway towards it he stopped and set the sandwich down walking back towards the blanket.
After sitting down both hunter and gus watched as the fox slowly crept towards the food to smell it in case something bad was in it. After smelling it for a minute they grabbed it with their mouth and ran back into the bushes so it could eat.
After the fox left they went back to eating and talked about the fox and that maybe they could get their own pet in the future when they owned their house together.
Finally finished eating, Hunter started to pack the plates and garbage up.
While doing this his back was turned to gus giving gus an idea.
With a smirk he waited for hunter to put everything away down so nothing breaks and falls down making a mess.
After Hunter had put everything down, Gus stood up and struck.
He grabbed Hunter and pulled him down with him laughing the whole time.
Hunter yelped from the surprise attack.
They landed with Hunter laying on top of Gus catching his breath because of the scare he just got then realizing the embarrassing noise he just made. All he could do was bury his face into Gus's chest to try and hide his red face from gus.
Meanwhile Gus was just laughing his ass off because the noise hunter had made and how embarrassed he got.
"I hate you." Hunter said.
Gus finally calmed down from his whole laugh fest.
"No you don't." Gus said with a smug face.
All hunter could do was sigh because he knew Gus was right.
But that didn't mean he couldn't do something back so he pinched Gus's shoulder making him yelp in pain.
"You're right, I love you too much to hate you." Hunter had said looking up from where his face was buried in Gus's chest showing his red face.
Gus giggled at Hunter's response and his red face.
He cupped both his hands on hunters face, putting their foreheads together.
They lay there, hunter on Gus's chest with his face cupped in Gus's hands foreheads pressed together staring into eachothers eyes.
Gus into Hunter's beautiful dark magenta eyes.
And Hunter into Gus's misty/dark gray eyes, that have a tint of violet in them.
Hunter was the first to break contact laying his head on gus's chest.
Gus giggled, pressing a kiss on Hunter's head while playing with his hair.
Gus can see Hunter ball his shirt into a ball with his fists, he could even see Hunter's ears flutter a bit with a pink blush coating them..
He smiled at how adorable Hunter is when he gets flustered.
Gus just lays down on his back pulling Hunter up on his chest more so they're both laying down.
"How about we both take a nap for an hour or two that way before our date ends we can watch the sunset." Gus says.
Hunter nods since he planned on waiting till sunset anyways so he can give gus the gifts.
Gus sets an alarm to wake them up in 2 hours on his scroll.
As they lay down snuggled together under the warm sky they close their eyes and fall into a light slumber.

Gus was awoken to the sound of his alarm going off on his scroll, Gus's mind was full of confusion for a second until he remembered, himself and Hunter took a nap so they could watch the sunset before they end their date.
Turning his alarm off he looked towards a still asleep hunter on his chest, gus layed there looking at him admiring how peaceful hunter looks when he's asleep, his mouth is slightly open revealing his adorable tooth gap.
snapping a quick picture on his scroll for the memories and partly to tease hunter in the future. Putting his scroll back down he gently started to pat hunters cheek to wake him up.
"Hunter, Hunter come on, wake up love."
Hunter slowly woke up, rubbed his eyes and stared at gus on confusion.
Quickly remembering they had taken a nap so they could wait for sunset, he smiled up at gus.
"Evening my love." Hunter said smiling at gus still a bit tired from the nap they took.
"Good Evening to you as well my love, did you enjoy your nap like I did." Gus said, smiling back at hunter.
Hunter nodded
"I very much did, you know, you make for quite a nice pillow." Hunter said, trying to tease Gus for how much he had teased him all day.
"Is that so?" Gus said with a hue of red on his face.
"Then maybe I'll let you sleep on my chest again tonight." Gus said smirking when his tease got the desired effect.
Hunter, red from the small but effective tease, started to stand up.
Holding his hand out for gus to take so they could get ready.
Gus, taking his hand, stood up and pulled Hunter into a hug Hunter before he could let go.
"So, do you know anywhere we can watch the sunset in peace that has a good view?" Gus asked.
"I have just the place." Hunter said.
Gus nodded.
"Alright, let's get packed up and ready to go."
Hunter nodded.
After they let go of each other they started grabbing everything. Hunter grabbed the basket that had the dishes and garbage from when they had eaten, and Gus grabbed the blanket setting carefully under all of his gifts so he doesn't accidentally mess something up.
Hunter with his backpack on and holding the picnic basket in one hand patiently waited for gus to finish. Looking away respectfully so as to not spoil the gifts gus got for him.
After Gus finished he walked up to hunter.
"Ready to go?" Hunter had said
Gus nodded.
"Yup!" He said excitedly.
Hunter smiling held out his hand for Gus to take which Gus gladly took within his own. And they started their trek towards the location hunter was taking them.
After a few minutes of walking gus got curious about what place hunter was gonna take them to.
"Hunter?"
"Yes?"
"What place are you gonna take us to, and how far is it?" He asked curiously.
"It's a place Luz told me about. Her and Amity had been there and she said you could see into the vast expanse of the boiling sea. In fact it's by the area where the Bonesborough brawl takes place so it shouldn't be too far maybe just a 20-30 minute walk there." Hunter said looking towards gus while they were still walking.
Gus, nodding his head in acknowledgment.
"I see, so not too far then. Well if Luz likes it then I bet we will as well!" He said with a confident smile.
It actually took them 40 minutes to get there.
But as soon as they entered the area, Gus remembered this place.
"Oh this place!" Gus said, pulling Hunter who was in awe of how big and beautiful the tree and the view of the boiling sea was.
"You know about this place as well?" Hunter said, confused.
"Yea, amity and Luz ended up making this tree during their fight against grom." Gus said, remembering what had happened.
Hunter was impressed, and thankful Luz and amity made such an amazing place like this.
Hunter and Gus had set the blanket down again by the tree so they could sit down and enjoy the view of the boiling sea. Hunter had his head laying on gus's shoulder with gus's head on his head, both holding hands in a nice silence while they watch the sunset.
After a good 30 minutes, Hunter was the one to break the silence to start the final part of their date.
"Hunter, lifting his head up. You ready to start the gifts before the sunset ends."
Gus turns towards hunter and nods. Happily since he wants to show Hunter the gifts he got him.
"Sure!" He grabs his backpack.
"Can I go first!"
Hunter nods, smiling at how excited Gus was.
To be fair, Hunter is just as excited as Gus is; he just hoped Gus would like his gifts.
"Ok, the first gift I got you" gus says pulling out a box of chocolates.
"Are these, I didn't know what chocolates you like so I made my best gues." Gus said a little nervous.
Hunter gladly took the chocolates from him.
"It's fine love, I actually barely have eaten chocolate so I've never developed a favorite." Huter says smiling at gus.
Gus just sat there flabbergasted at what he just heard, promising himself he's gonna get the others so they can help find hunter a favorite chocolate.
"Alright, for my second gift." Gus says pulling out a bird plush.
"This is a bird called a Magpie I believe if I remember correctly from the bird books in the human realm." He says giving the plush bird to hunter
Hunter accepts the bird holding it in his arms trying to not damage it on accident.
"I love it." Hunter says smiling softly.
"I'm glad." Gus says smiling at hunter
"Do you mind if I do my last gift after you?" Gus asks.
Hunter looks up at gus and nods, getting his backpack with all of his gifts.
"I may have gone overboard with buying gifts… so don't be too surprised." Hunter says sheepishly.
Gus just nods preparing himself for what Hunter is gonna give him.
"Start like you did in a way since 2 of my items are sort of the same as yours." Hunter says
Gus nods
"Ok." Hunter said
"Here, I made sure to find the ones you like." Hunter says handing gus a box of chocolates.
Gus grabbed the box of chocolates with glee.
"Thanks you hunter! I haven't had some of these in a while." Gus says opening the box and grabbing a peace of chocolate. Throwing it in his mouth.
After gus had eaten the peace of chocolate he had a good idea. Since hunter hasn't tried much chocolate, he's gonna have hunter try this one to if he would like it aswell!
"Hey hunter come here real quick." Gus said motioning for hunter to come to him.
Hunter, looked up from his back pack started to crawl towards gus a bit.
"Ok, open your mouth real quick I want to see if you will like this chocolate!" Gus says excitedly visibly jumping a bit.
Hunter obviously embarrassed by the prospect of him being fed like a baby refused.
"I–wha–no!" hunter got cut off by gus doing puppy eye's at him, in turn, he gave up easily not able to refuse gus's puppy's eyes.
"Fine!" Hunter said red face due to sheer embarrassment.
"Yay!" Gus said happily he brought the chocolate up to hunter mouth and fed it to him. Hunter sat back down chewing the chocolate.
"Hmm!" Hunter made a sound of enjoyment.
"This is actually really good." He said surprised by how good the chocolate was.
"Hah I knew you would like it. This chocolate is the best one there is!" Gus said in excitement and is proud he found a chocolate hunter likes.
Hunter rolling his eyes went back to his backpack grabbing for things. 2 were small and he couldn't see them correctly but the other 2 were big enough to see, they were wood carvings.
"While getting gifts I did a lot of shopping for pair stuff… and these 2 are some of what I found I got you the cardinal and I got myself the chameleon. Reason being is that this way we will have a part of eachother with us. They are in a way good luck charms…" Hunter says scratching his neck nervously.
Gus stared in awe grabbing the cardinal from hunter. Goofily smiling at hunter.
"I love it hunter, Thanks you, I'll always keep it with me."
Hunter smiled back at gus.
"That's not all though I also got us matching rings." He says giving gus the silver ring.
Gus taking the ring and looking over it carefully. At the beautiful moon, sun, and stars engraved on it. But when he saw the *I love you most* in it he had such a big smile. He looked over at Hunter's ring and saw the same thing but instead of it saying *I love you most* it says *I love your more* they both put their rings on.
"Thank you hunter… I really don't know what to say the ring is amazing, and the fact you thought of making them match makes it so much better."
"That's not all I have for you gus." Hunter says standing up.
"I have a few more that I need to give before the sun sets completely."Hunter says smiling down at gus.
Gus grabbed Hunter's hands and let himself get pulled up.
Hunter quickly went to his bag and grabbed 6 small items. Making his way back to gus, he grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the edge of the cliff but close enough to the edge they won't fall.
Him and gus are staring at eachother now.
"Gus." He said.
"Yes hunter."
"I have 6 items here 3 for you and 3 for me more matching things as you can tell but with these. I make a vow
He hands gus 2 earrings and a necklace.
Gus puts his on.
Hunter also puts his 3 pieces of jewelry on.
"You ready for what I'm about to say gus."
Gus nods feeling a lot of emotions right now.
"I am your ocean, you are my sky
I am your star, you are my moon."
"The ocean will always be seen touching the sky, and the stars will always surround their moon."
"And the sky, and the ocean will always make a picture perfect sunset."
"My sky, Your ocean, Together. We make a perfect sunset." Hunter finishes.
Gus quickly grabbed Hunter hugging him.
He couldn't hold back the tears nor could hunter they are both high in emotions they were both holding eachother, a sniffling mess they stand there for a couple of minutes.
"Well guess I should bring my last gift out." Gus said.
Hunter nodded both his and gus's faces finally dry.
Gus quickly grabbed his last gift from his bag.
"Hunter I also got a matching thing for us." Gus said.
He revealed two matching lockets giving one to hunter.
Hunter opened it to see 4 empty slots.
"This is my own vow." Gus said.
Hunter lifted his head fast staring at gus in surprise.
"Gus do you mean?" Hunter asked hope in his eyes.
Gus smiled walking right in front of hunter.
"Yes hunter. I want to build a life with you."
He pulls hunter into a kiss.
Hunter surprised, kisses back.
They finally seperate so they can breath and smile at eachother like idiots.
Gus grabs hunters hand pulls him towards the blanket. They both lay down hunters head on gus's chest listening to his heartbeat and gus's hand in hunters hair playing with it. Night finally falls upon them, they lay there before they fall asleep they both say what they are feeling.
"I love you" and fall asleep soon after
And if they wake up with a fox asleep by hunter, what could they say?
