Ch 2 Sub Anomalies
Dimensional Plane, Storm Border
Ritsuka stretches, just recovered from the Battle with the White Titian. "Man, there wasn't a Battle like this since ORT." The Magus commented, heading to the room where the most important People are.
Opening the door, Ritsuka smiles at the sight of his Wife and Son sitting on the carpet floor. "Mashu," Ritsuka greeted his Wife,
Mashu turns around, smiling at her Husband returning from resting in their room. "Ritsuka, are you all rested?" The violet-haired Woman asked her Husband, "The Battle with Sefar has taken a lot from you."
Ritsuka rolled his shoulders, smiling at the voice of his Wife in person instead of speaking through comms. "Yeah, even Sefar isn't powerful like ORT; it's still one hell of a foe to fight." He commented, "I do feel bad for the People of the Parisian Lostbelt. Their World was destroyed once Sefar awakens." He said, still remembering the City turn into rubble in mere seconds.
"Language, Ritsuka." Mashu scolded her Husband, looking over to Romani as he plays with his toys. "Romani-kun is still learning how to speak, and I don't want him to start cursing when he's about to start school." She stated.
"School?" Ritsuka asked, wondering why she mentioned schooling for their Son.
Mashu nodded, looking at their Son. "I want Romani-kun to experience any other Children of his Age would experience. Even if we're protecting Humanity, I want him to live a life we didn't have." She smiles, wanting to make that dream into reality.
Ritsuka smiles, placing his hand on his Wife's hand. "And we will, once the Anomalies are solved then we can return home and build the life Romani deserves." He said, ensuring that the Future of their Son is within reach.
Mashu leans and kissed Ritsuka on the cheeks, happy to be married to him. "I'm glad to have you as a Husband." She smiles,
"And I'm glad to have you as a Wife, Mashu," Ritsuka said, about to kiss her only to have Romani toss a ball to them.
The Parents turn to their Child, seeing him clapping his hand. "Daddy! Mommy! Pway with me?" Romani asked innocently, smiling at him.
Both Ritsuka and Mashu chuckle at their Son, "Sure thing, Bud." Ritsuka picks the ball up and tosses it at the violet-haired Child innocently. "Catch,"
Romani caught it and went into a fit of giggles, he then toss it to his Mother before the Storm Border made an abrupt stop.
"What the-" Ritsuka stood up, feeling the Storm Border going on a tilt.
Mashu quickly grabs hold of their Son, carrying him gently. "What's going on, Ritsuka?" She asked, soothing the young Boy.
The Magus shook his head, both never experienced this before. "I'm not sure but-" Suddenly the alarms flared up, indicating there was an emergency.
-ZZZ- Attention all crew and Staff, this is your Captain speaking. -ZZZ- Nemo's voice came on the PA, -ZZZ- Please make your way to the Command Center for an emergency debriefing. -ZZZ-
Both Mashu and Ritsuka looked at each other, hearing the Rider's announcement. "Ritsuka?" Mashu asked her Husband.
"Let's go Mashu, I'm sure Sion and Da Vincis can tell us what's happening," Ritsuka said, opening the door to the Halls.
"Right, Ritsuka," Mashu said, bringing Romani along.
At the Command Center, the Staff were trying their hardest to resolve the sudden stop of the Storm Border. However….
"Systems are still green!" A Staff informed the Vice Commander and the Captain.
"The Triton Engines are still functional, and the Poseidon Engine is in working order." Another informed the two.
Amelia opens her eyes, "Our course hasn't changed, we're still following Dorian Grey's Spirit Origins pattern through the Dimensional Plane." The Foreigner informed the Staff.
Ginny checked the other units of the Storm Border if there was a malfunction. She looks at Goldolf, "The Spirit Origins, the Weaponry, and the Hume-Barrel Rayproof are in working order." The Witch informed them.
Luna sighs, seeing there was nothing wrong with the Storm Border. "Everything is working fine, Vice Commander; but we seem to be stuck." She informed the Staff.
"S-S-Stuck? How are we stuck?" Goldolf asked, panicking at the mention of being stuck in the middle of the Multiverse.
Sion just stares at the Magus from the Association. "Calm down Goldolf, we're not in an immediate danger." The Atlas Alchemist said to the former director, "Captain's Triton Authority is protecting the Storm Border, but I do admit being like this isn't good." She said before the doors opened.
"What's happening?" Both Mashu and Ritsuka enter the Command Center. They looked around, seeing the Staff and the Servants trying to get the Border unstuck.
Holmes looks at the young Family, greeting them to the Command Center. "Mr. and Mrs. Fujimaru, good to see both are alright." The Ruler said before noticing the young master in the former Demi-Human's arms. "And bringing the young master, wise choice, Ms. Mashu." The Ruler stated.
Mashu smiles, gently patting Romani on the back. "Since the Storm Border is tilting, I don't want Romani to get hurt." She stated,
"Being with us is probably the best option," Ritsuka said before looking at the main Staff. "Sion, Goldolf, what's the situation?" He asked the two,
The purple-haired Alchemist turns around, smiling at the director of Chaldea. "Fujimaru, ahem, it seems we've come to an abrupt stop in the middle of tracking the Foreigner, Dorian Grey," Sion explains, "However what's interesting is where we are in this side of the Multiverse."
Sion type a few things on the console, showing the area in the Dimensional Plane they were in. Everyone looked at the Papermoon, seeing where the Storm Border was currently positioned.
There on the screen was a Spiderweb that branched out from the normal branch of the Multiverse.
Goldolf gulps, seeing the huge Spiderweb and the Storm Border stuck outside of a specific Dimension. "W-What the bloody hell is this? I-It's like a huge Spiderweb." He panics, not fond of huge Spiders.
Ginny chuckles, seeing the webbing. "If Ron were here, he'll be freaking out just like the Vice-Commander." The red-haired Girl commented.
Luna giggled before Sion continued,
"Exactly, this part of the Dimensional Plane teeters between Reality and Fantasy," Sion explains to Ritsuka and the other Staff. "In short…we just entered a part of the Multiverse where Fantasy is Reality, the Fourth Wall."
Most of the Staff didn't get it, however, Holmes was a different story. "Ah, I see now."
"You do, Mr. Holmes? I still don't get it." Luna asked, looking at the Detective.
"Simple, Ms. Lovegood. Right now the Storm Border sits in the realm of Fantasy. A part of the Multiverse where fictional stories come to Reality." Holmes explains to those who were having a hard time grasping the concept. "To make it easier to grasp, think of Comic books. They have developed a World of their own despite being written in all terms Fantasy."
Goldolf coughs, still having a hard time believing this. "B-But how is it possible? The Multiverse is filled with paths that Proper Human History would take place without the Lostbelt nonsense." The Vice-Commander said, "How can a World made out of someone's Fantasy exist?"
"Well…it's not quite entirely possible per se," Mashu spoke up, gaining everyone's attention. "I mean Holmes and the other Fictional Servants are proof that Fantasy can become Reality." She said, proving her point about the situation.
Ritsuka nodded, finding it plausible. "Mashu's right, it's possible for that to happen." He said before chuckling to himself. "I mean if Comic Books play out similarly to Human History, it's not really that different."
Goldolf opens his mouth only to see the logic everyone is saying. "I-I see, you made your point," He cleared his throat, moving on from the discussion.
The director of Chaldea smiles before returning his attention back to their situation. "So with that taken care of which part of this Fantasy Branch are we in?" He asked as Sion checked,
Sion gave a light chuckle as she gaze over to the last master of Humanity. "Remember the Marvel Movies we watched back in our own World?" She asked,
"…"
"EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!?"
After a few minutes of calming down, Sion got everyone's attention. "Calm down now?" Sion asked,
"Yes, Ms. Sokaris, I do believe everyone is level-headed now," Holmes spoke as he looks around at the Staff.
Goldolf nodded, allowing Sion to continue. "Y-Yes, continue Sion." He spoke on behalf of the Staff.
Sion nodded, continuing with her explanation. "Back to the problem, the Papermoon has detected a small Anomaly that just appeared." She showed a blinking red light on the America Continent on the Papermoon. "The Anomaly is located in Dimension Twenty Six Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety-Six in the United States of America in the year Two Thousand and Eight."
"Two Thousand and Eight? Seems like we're still in the Modern Era again," Holmes commented, taking note of how every Anomaly so far has taken place in the Modern Era.
"That's right, and this time it's in the State of New York, more specifically in the small part of New York City, Brooklyn," Sion explained to the Staff,
Luna was surprised at how small the Anomaly is compared to the last two or three considering the last one was different from the second one. "So small,"
Mashu was gently patting Romani before asking Sion something, "Sion-san, is the Anomaly small because it will not affect Human History on this part of the Dimensional Plane?" She asked,
Sion ponders before asking Trismegistus II about it, after a few moments of waiting, the result came in. "I'm afraid we can't leave any Anomaly unsolved, small or large. It's best to solve them before they grow into an Anomaly that would be quite difficult or turn into a Lostbelt like Patricius." She answered Mashu's question. "Plus, it seems Trismegistus II also gave us the answer to how to untether from our current sticky situation."
Goldolf's ears perked up, hearing there was a way out of the Web. "Really? Go on, Sion. Tell us what we need to do to get unstuck." He asked,
"It's simple, solve the Anomaly," Sion answered, giving the simple answer to everyone.
"R-Really? T-There's nothing more to it?" The Magus asked, hoping for a simple solution than just solving an Anomaly.
"Hey, that's what Trismegistus II said, not me," Sion stated, knowing Trismegistus II is spot on with it's answers. "Whatever is tethering the Storm Border is also causing the Anomaly, my best guess is the one whom we are after."
Ritsuka frowns, crossing his arms. "Dorian Grey,"
"Exactly, this small Anomaly or Sub Anomaly is devised by the Enemy Servant, Dorian Grey to hold us back." The Atlas Alchemist commented, having the same feeling as everyone. "In any case, Ritsuka, just do what you do, and we'll be back on our track to resolve the Anomalies."
"Right,"
After getting ready for the Rayshift, Ritsuka was standing at the Rayshift ready to depart for the Anomaly.
Goldolf, Sion, Holmes, and Mashu were with him, though it was less crowded than previously. "Where is everyone?" Ritsuka asked as Da Vinci (Caster) enters the room with George.
"Simple, Fujimaru-kun. Since we're literally on a teetertotter, I have everyone including the Servants on standby in case things go…iffy." Da Vinci cleared her throat before changing the Subject. "Anyways, you'll be Rayshifting to unknown territory once more. But unlike the last two things are unknown."
"Like before, we're in the realm of Fantasy or the Fantasy Branch (trademark Da Vinci.)" The Caster smiles, giving a little side joke.
"Fitting name," Ritsuka commented as Sion and Holmes approached him.
"Also, despite detecting an abundance of Leylines in this World; it seems our Branch's Heroic Spirits can't be normally Summoned," Sion informed Ritsuka of the crucial detail in this side mission.
Ritsuka was confused, yes, he did find Summoning Servants in the Miraculous Anomaly difficult, but that was only because there was no Mana in the Leyline. "What's the problem with the Leyline in this Anomaly?" He asked, wanting to know.
Holmes placed his hand on his chin, "Through further investigation, Trismegistus II deducted that this part of the Multiverse has no need for Heroic Spirits." The Ruler answers before continuing. "If I have to guess, based on Comic Books specifically in Marvel Comics; there are many factors that lead the World not needing Heroic Spirits. Though, I'm willing to bet you know the reason, Mr. Fujimaru."
"The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Fantastic Four, etc," Ritsuka said, remembering the many outlandish things this Fantasy Branch has. "I read them all,"
"Good, now it'll be foolish not to provide you some sort of support in this side mission," Holmes stated, turning to Da Vinci who prepared a few helpers beforehand.
Da Vinci smiles, having the spotlight. "We figured that this might happen; so we've prepared two Servants that'll be Rayshifting with you." The Caster explains,
"Though it won't be as large of an army as in Miraculous and Patricius. We wouldn't want to draw attention to you considering what's in this part of the neighborhood." Goldolf spoke, crossing his arms, "As much I want to, but things are the way it is."
Ritsuka nods, knowing full well this Branch is filled with superpowered beings. "Got it, two Servants." He looks around, searching for the Servants. "Who's joining me?"
Da Vinci turns around to the door, everyone watches as the door opens. (Insert [FGO] Imaginary Scramble Event - Shop BGM)
He was a familiar face with brown hair with a modified maroon robe with large black sleeves. He has white armor-like fabric on his shoulders and black pants that morphs into his shoes and walks out.
"Greetings, master. It'll be a nice experience to be out on the field instead of giving support from the Border." Archimedes, the Mathematician and was the Assistant Technology Division Head to Da Vinci. "Caster, Archimedes reporting for duty."
"Archimedes," Ritsuka smiles, greeting the Caster Servant. "You were a big help with the Battle against Sefar. I'm happy to have you on board again,"
The Caster chuckles, appreciating his master's words of encouragement. "Likewise, master. I too feel honored to be called upon for help, let's solve this Anomaly together," Archimedes stated,
Ritsuka then looks at the group, curious about who else is coming. "So it's Archimedes and who else?" He asked the group,
The door opened, revealing a rather unexpected sight. The final Servant who accompanies them was a blonde young man who wore a red vest and white shirt, black pants, long white socks, and black dress shoes.
"Yo! It's been a minute, master!" Jack the Ripper or Flat Escardos greeted his master, being the final Servant that'll be joining them in the Sub-Anomaly. "How's it been? I see that you've been keeping well."
"Flat, you've been Summoned?" Ritsuka asked, looking at Da Vinci and Sion for answers.
Sion looks at the Assassin/Berserker, answering Ritsuka's question. "When we were calculating Servants that would be compatible in this Anomaly, Trismegistus II has automatically Summons Flat in the Summoning Room." The Atlas Alchemist explains to Ritsuka, "It seems that whatever is going on there, Flat must be really compatible."
Flat crosses his arms, giving a big smile. "That's because we're going to the United States, right?" The Assassin asked before continuing. "I have experienced a Grail War in America before, in Snowfield and also, I was or the Heroic Spirit that I Summoned is none other than Jack the Ripper. Berserker edition." The Assassin stated.
"But I got to say, this Storm Border is really badass! It's like a Spaceship in those Space Movies!" The Assassin cheered, expressing his feelings on the Border.
"But you're an Assassin, right Flat-kun?" Mashu asked, wondering what his Class was now.
"It's still an Assassin, Mashu-chan; but I can change into a Berserker once my Noble Phantasm is invoked like before." Flat answers the former Demi-Servant. He turns to Archimedes and Ritsuka, ecstatic to be on a mission like this again. "I'm looking forward to working with you."
Archimedes nodded, "That goes for us too, Assassin." The Caster said, humbly accepting his assistance as an Assassin.
Goldolf interrupts the greeting, already crunching on time. "Alright, alright, that's enough formalities. Do remember what you're here for." The Vice-Commander reminds everyone,
"Yes, Goldolf, don't worry." Ritsuka chuckles, seeing Goldolf wants to be freed from this Webbing.
"Hai, hai, don't get your mustache in a knot. We know what's at stake here." Flat waves his hand, approaching the Coffins to prepare for the Rayshift.
Archimedes turns to the Staff, knowing his task in the mission. "I'll adjust our Mana to fit in the Dimension once we land." The Caster stated, walking to the Coffins,
"Roger that, Archimedes," Da Vinci said before turning to Ritsuka and Mashu, saying their goodbyes.
"I'll be back," Ritsuka said, kissing both Mashu and Romani before leaving.
Mashu smiles, watching her Husband leave to solve another Anomaly. "Good luck, Ritsuka,"
Romani smiles, waving his hand at his Father. "Bye-bye, Daddy." He said, watching as the three prepared for Rayshifting to the Sub-Anomaly.
Da Vinci turns to George, ready to proceed with the Rayshift. "George, it's your turn."
George nodded, typing the coordinates to try and Rayshift to the Sub-Anomaly. However, it proves to be difficult since they're still in the Dimensional Plane. "I-I can't get a good read. I don't want to proceed when the coordinates are wonky." The Wizard stated.
"It must be because we're in the Dimensional Plane." Sion frowns, fearing for this situation. She turns to look at the red-haired Boy. "George, try adjusting the system for a Dimensional Shift then-"
"H-Hold on, it seems there's a signal pointing to the direction of the Anomaly," George answered, locking on to the signal.
Sion smiles, "Lock onto it."
"Got it!" George smiles, proceeding through all stages of the Rayshift.
