Ch 4 An Alliance
It's been a few days since the Chaldeans arrived in Brooklyn, they deiced to observe how the Grail War would proceed before acting.
Ritsuka walks around the Sanctum Santorum, being offered as a Base of Operations for them. Flat took the time to explore the Building,
Flat has gone out on reconnaissance in the City, taking his Skill to take any form he wishes. When he left, all he said was, "Master, I'm heading out! I'm going to check some things out in Brooklyn; plus there's a place where I wanted to check out!"
Since then, Flat has been in the City disguised as a regular Joe or anything to gather information.
On the other hand, Archimedes went on to the Library to research this World as Chaldea's secondary mission. Record and catalog the many Worlds in the Multiverse,
The Magus looks around, taking in the fact he was in the literal Marvel Universe. Unconsciously, he bumps into Dr. Strange, "Oh, sorry Doctor, I didn't see you there." Ritsuka said, looking at the Sorcerer Supreme.
"No, don't be. I was flying around that you don't hear my footsteps." Steven said before asking Ritsuka something. "I don't see your Servants around, Ritsuka. Are they in Astral form?" He asked,
"No, Caster is researching what makes this World different from our World. A side project that Chaldea has on researching the Multiverse." Ritsuka explains to the Sorcerer. "As for Flat, he went out to scout some things in the City."
Steven nodded, seeing Ritsuka was making his time productive while waiting for the moment to act. "How productive, if you need any help, I'm more than happy to shed som-"
The front door of the Santorum opened as an Asian Man in robes entered. "After hiding Mystics from the Public for years, you think it'll be easier to cover up." An Asian Man enters the Santorum, he walks towards the entrance before seeing Steven talking to a young Man,
Ritsuka turns around, hearing a newcomer entering the Sanctum Santorum. "Hmm? Strange, how many times do I need to remind you that there are no guests in the Santorum?" Wong said to the Sorcerer Supreme.
"Wong," Steven smiles, standing next to Ritsuka. "Allow me to introduce you to the master of Chaldea and Zelretch's Pupil, Ritsuka Fujimaru."
"Hi," Ritsuka waves at the Sorcerer, knowing about him through the Disney Show and Movies.
Wong blinks at Ritsuka, not expecting the Kaleidoscope's Student to be a Human. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't expect Zelretch's Student to be…young." The Sorcerer commented, looking at Ritsuka once more. "And Human for that matter,"
Ritsuka could only chuckle at what the Assistant to the Sorcerer Supreme said. "Well, Rayshifting and traveling through a Bleach Earth does have a toll on your Body." He chuckles, before answering his second question. "And for your other question, yes I am Human; I just happen to age slower than an average Human." He explains.
The Sorcerer nodded, understanding a bit more about the master of Chaldea. "Only a few have obtained eternal youth or obtained slow aging." Wong commented before shrugging, "I shouldn't expect something from someone who studied under Zelretch."
"Ahem, in any case, as Assistant to the Sorcerer Supreme, I welcome you to the Sanctum Santorum master of Chaldea." Wong greeted Ritsuka properly,
"Thank you, Wong." Ritsuka smiles before hearing the Library door open.
Archimedes steps out of the Library, holding a book exclusively for the Order. "Master, this book is fascinating, it has recordings of every Dimension- I didn't know we're expecting Guests here." The Caster said, his attention to the newcomer.
Wong's mouth hung open, didn't expect to meet a Servant here. "W-Wait, hold on you Summoned your Servant already!?" He asked, turning to Steven and Ritsuka. "So that means you are the Final master in this Grail War, Mr. Fujimaru."
"Ah, sorry there's a misunderstanding." Steven cleared his throat, explaining to Wong the situation regarding the Magus. "Wong, Ritsuka here isn't a Participant in this Holy Grail War; he's an Outsider,"
Wong just looked at him funny, unsure what he meant. "Huh? What do you mean, he's not a Participant? He has a Servant-"
"Two," Ritsuka corrected the Sorcerer, causing him to look at him.
"I'm sorry, what?" The Sorcerer looks at the Magus of Chaldea, wanting to confirm what he just heard. "How many Servants do you have, Mr. Fujimaru?" Wong asked,
"About two currently, I'm planning to Summon one more to add to my ranks," Ritsuka explains to the Sorcerer of his plan to him. "Since this is a Grail War, then it's possible to Summon other Servants to help."
Wong could only nod, seeing what Zelretch said about his Student breaking the rules for the Grail War is what he's good at. "Well, if it means keeping the City safe then by all means."
Steven nodded, turning to Ritsuka and the Caster. "The masters of the Grail War are very reckless and will do anything to get their wish granted." The black-haired Man said, "So a bit of help mediating and protecting the People."
Ritsuka nodded, ready to Summon his Servant. "Doctor, do you happen to know where there's a large area filled with Mana or a dormant Leyline?" He asked the two.
"Master, I do believe we're standing in a place where Mana is flourishing," Archimedes commented, looking around the foray of the Sanctorum indicating the Magic surrounding the place.
"Ah! I didn't realize that we're in a place filled with Magical Energy." Ritsuka said, now realizing that they can perform the Summon in their Base of operations.
Steven chuckles, placing his hand on his chin. "You just realize that now, Ritsuka?" He said, liking the Magus before them.
Ritsuka shrugs, seeing he was still getting used to this World.
Wong sighs, seeing that Ritsuka wasn't what he was expecting when he heard about Zelretch's Pupil. Shaking his head, the Sorcerer looks at the two, "So, any ideas whom you're going to Summon?" He asked.
"Not sure, but I'll just wing it," Ritsuka answers Wong, unsure what sort of Hero would respond to a World with no need for Heroic Spirits.
Standing before an open-spaced room, Dr. Strange and Wong stood off to the side while Ritsuka and Archimedes prepared a Summoning Circle.
Wong looks over to Steven, watching the Chaldeans work. "Are you sure it's wise for them to Summon a Servant now? From the ones currently Summoned, they are… unpredictable." The Sorcerer asked, having second thoughts.
Steven smiles, seeing there's nothing wrong in having a little help to deal with Servants. "On the contrary Wong, we have never dealt with Servants before. So having a few on our side wouldn't hurt anyone." He commented.
"How interesting…" Steven paused, seeing strange rocks at least thirty from his count placed in the center of the Circle. "Those rocks must be like a Catalyst to Summon Servants unlike the ones currently out there."
The Sorcerer nodded, observing as Archimedes steps back from the Circle. "Yes, very. I could sense some Mystics in those rocks," Wong commented.
Ritsuka nodded to Archimedes, seeing they were set. "Okay, we're ready." He said.
"Summoning Circle established, Saint Quartz ready, and ready for a line of communication to the Storm Border is ready to be tested." The Caster turns to his master, "Ready to perform Summoning Ritual."
Ritsuka took a deep breath and held out his hand to begin to chant.
"Let silver and steel be the essence.
Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation.
Let Humanity's wishes crystallized.
The Summoning circle began to glow blue, the Saint Quartz started to glow a blue hue.
Let the wishes of those who cannot be heard to be heard.
Let me be your anchor on this plane to serve those who cannot.
Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Throne.
The Command Seals glowed brightly; the Saint Quartz soon dissolved into liquid. The liquid began to merge, creating two bodies.
From your collapse shall be our beginnings to a new path to the future.
For I embodied that is all good in the world and you shall be the defender.
For rings of light appeared around the bodies of the Heroic Spirits answering Ritsuka's call. A myriad of colors shines with sparks of gold in the room as it forms two more rings.
To those who hear to their will and reason from Gods to Men, Heroes to Villains then answer!
My will creates your body, and your body shall be the sword of justice for the innocents.
To those who hear the plea for help then heed my call! If you do respond to those who plead!
The mass took form as the rings merged with the Heroes that Ritsuka summoned.
Come forth in the line of Duty! Guardian of the Scales!"
A burst of blinding light surrounds the room, smoke came afterward as everyone closed their eyes.
Once the light subsided, there was a figure standing before them. "It works, it must be the Grail's interference that Summons a Servant," Ritsuka said, looking at a familiar face.
She was there, standing before the Men was a Woman wearing a black dress with a magenta line on her short skirt. She wore black boots with magenta lacing and a black jacket with vibrant magenta within.
Her long violet hair was tied in a ponytail and covering her head was a hat. She wore a pair of magenta glasses and a black dagger in her right hand.
"So this is what Summoning a Servant is like," Steven said, sensing a bit of a Divinity within the Servant,
The Servant looks at Ritsuka, seeing his familiar face. "I'm Medusa. A Saber Class Servant…huh? I sense you have different versions of me. Why?" The Saber asked, feeling a connection between the Chaldean master and her. She sighs, "That's exceedingly annoying, you know."
"In any case, it's been too long, master of Assassin." Medusa greeted her new master she met in the Papermoon. "I'll be yours to command."
Ritsuka smiles at the Servant that protected Sakura. "Medusa, great to see you again. Let's save this World together," He offered his hand to her.
Medusa nodded, accepting the contract between her and Ritsuka. "Very well, master."
Midtown Manhattan Magnet Highschool
"Have you seen what happened yesterday?" A young Student asked her Friend,
She nodded, responding to her question. "Yeah, it's scary. I heard that those People in the convenience store were hospitalized at the same time." She said, walking into the Highschool.
The young Student frowns, worried about that event. "D-Do you think it's some kind of disease?" She asked.
"I hope not, we just started school and the last thing I want is to worry about getting sick." She added, opening the door.
Peter frowns, hearing the conversation those Girls had. "A disease? What are they talking about." He asked himself, he's been preoccupied with searching for Harry that he wasn't in a loop.
Harry didn't show up for the first week of school, nor answer his text. This worried him since he hadn't seen him for a while, and now there was a disease going rampant in the City.
'It's just rumors, master. But I did read something on the paper about four People from the same store collapsing altogether.' Archer informed her master about what he missed.
'How come I didn't hear about it? I work for the Daily Bugle, and I know about almost everything!' Peter mentally said, knowing the last time he spoke to Archer there were staring eyes on him like a lunatic.
Archer shrugs, 'I'm not sure myself, but I believe that having knowledge that a disease outbreak was to spread, People will go into chaos.' The blue-haired Servant explains, finding that it's the best explanation. 'The Media probably doesn't want that, so they're keeping it secret until the situation changes.'
The brown-haired Hero sighs, "Yeah, you're probably right about that." Peter paused, dodging a football thrown from behind his head. 'Great…'
"Hey, Puny Parker!" Peter turns around, seeing the Jocks standing behind them with the Cheerleaders. "You're supposed to catch the ball, not dodge it!" A blonde Boy laughs,
'Master?' Archer asked, not liking how they treat her master.
'I got this, Archer.' Peter stood up, facing Flash Thompson and the rest of the Team. "Hey, Flash…" He then looks at a dark-haired Girl, turning away from him. "Hey…"
Flash pushed Peter to the side once he saw him eyeing Liz Allen. "Don't hey her, she has no interest in you anymore."
A blonde Girl approaches him, pushing him to the side. "Yeah, Liz is finally away from you." Sally Avril said before taking Liz by the shoulders. "Come on, Liz, let's go before Stinky Petie does anything."
"-Right…" Liz looks at Peter, still not over with the breakup.
Peter watched as the group and his Ex-Girlfriend walk away and enter the school. "Well, there you have it. I'm Midtown Highschool's number one hated person."
The blue-haired Archer frowns, watching the interaction. 'I assume it's a bad breakup? I know that look that…Liz? Has in her eyes.' She said.
"Yeah, it was bad," Peter said, getting up on his two feet.
"Heya Tiger, doing alright?" Peter turns around, seeing a red-haired Girl walking towards him.
"Yeah, just the typical Flash being Flash, MJ." The brown-haired Hero said before changing the subject. "Anyways, I don't want to think about it."
Mary Jane Wattson nodded, understanding what Peter was feeling. "Anyways, have you heard about what happened?" She asked, changing the subject.
The young Hero nodded, "Yeah about the rumor of the diseases store incident? I hear-"
MJ shook her head, not asking about that rumor. "No, it's something else and yet the same thing." The red-haired Girl said, "It's about our History Teacher,"
Peter blinks, not expecting that. "You mean Mr. Garrison? What about him?" He asked as Archer listens to their conversation.
"Turns out, the convenient store wasn't the only place where the disease rumor came from," MJ explains to the young Hero, telling him what was happening. "Turns out, there was another incident in the park, and Mr. Garrison was there at the same time."
Peter was taken aback by this new revelation about this rumor. "Word around school, Mr. Garrison would probably not be returning." MJ crosses his arms, feeling concerned about this. "He and the People who were at the park got it bad and was sent to the Hospital immediately."
"That does sound bad," Peter said before asking another question. "Then who'll be taking over his class then?" The brown-haired Boy asked,
"Not sure, the Principle is searching for the perfect candidate," MJ said before the bell rings, indicating the beginning of the School day. "We better get to class, I'm sure with Mr. Garrison out then we would have a free period."
Peter nodded, agreeing with her on that part. "I think you're right, MJ." He said before hearing Archer speak to him in his mind.
'Master, this is too much of a coincidence to not be suspicious…' Archer said to her master, having a suspicious feeling about this rumor. 'I'll be investigating this.'
The brown-haired Boy blinks, surprised to hear that Archer was going to do some investigating this rumor. Though now that he thinks of it, it does sound suspicious that two places at the same time, 'Alright, just be careful.' Peter said, walking into the Highschool with MJ
"Peter? What's that face you were making?" The red-haired Girl asked, taking note of the strange expression he was just making.
"Huh? Am I?" Peter said, scratching the back of his head. "I didn't notice."
The two enter the school, closing the front doors behind them.
Just as the two Teenagers left the front, a lone Bird came out of the bushes. The Bird was quickly replaced by a blonde Boy walking into the streets. "So cool, I'm actually here with the famous Spiderman and Mary Jane…" The Assassin shook his head, getting back to his purpose. "No, Flat this isn't what you're supposed to do!" He slaps his cheeks.
"Remember, you're on recon...hmmm...though the disease rumors do sound familiar…" Flate commented before stretching seeing he has done just that. "Innnnn any case, I better tell master about this rumors-"
"Who is that?"
"Hmm?" Flat turns around, seeing some Girls who arrived at the school late.
"He's cute, do you think?" One Girl asked, blushing at him.
"I know, those clothes may look outdated, but it makes him more attractive…" The other Girl commented, giggling at him.
Another Girl leans forward, whispering to her Friend. "(Hey, hey, do you think he's a new student?)" She asked her Friend.
"(Maybe, he must be a Foreign Exchange Student.)" She suspected, smiling at him.
The Assassin frowns, seeing his cover was blown right away. 'Dang, they saw me. But based on their conversation, they didn't see me change my form…' Flat mentally thought before taking the moment to his advantage.
Flat's blue eyes turn to the Girls, giving them a charming smile and waves. He waves causing them to squeal in joy, 'I better make like the wind and scatter…' Once everyone's eyes were shut he quickly madashedor the gate, returning to his master.
Riverside Park
"I'm sorry, but Riverside Park is close." A Policeman with white hair and blue eyes announces to the crowds with his Squad.
"Captain Stacey, Daily Bugle here," A Journalist steps forward, holding a tape recorder in his hand. "Can you tell us why Riverside Park is closed? Does it got to do with the rumors of an upcoming pandemic?"
Another Journalist from a different Media steps forward, "If it is a disease then can you tell us anything about it?" She asked,
Captain George Stacy refused to tell these Journalists anything that would cause panic. "There's no comment, the NYPD is ordered by the Mayor to close Riverside Park." He stated. "No move along, this is a matter for Professionals to solve."
Within the Park, many Medical and Researchers were scanning the area for any hints of a pandemic. One of the Medical Staff turns to his Colleague, to see if they found anything.
"Have you found something?" He asked,
She shook her head, answering her Colleague. "No indications that there was a contamination of any kind." The Medical Staff replied, being stumped by this. "It's like it was never here,"
"But reports say that People were dropping to the ground one by one." He answers, removing his mask to test a theory.
The Medical Staff saw her Colleague removing his hazard gear and panicked. "What do you think you're doing!?" She scolded him for being reckless, "You might get…infected?"
She saw that her Colleague was fine and didn't drop right away from what the reports said. "They say that People dropped to the ground right away, but it's not happening to me…"
"What's going on?" She asked, not noticing a certain blue-haired Archer was investigating the Park.
Archer frowns, sensing a faint trace of Magical Energy in the area. "There are traces of Magical Energy here," She looks around, "It must be a work from a Servant…" She paused, turning around to see a figure before her.
"A Servant? So do you think it's the work of another Servant that cause this incident?" Another Servant appeared, "Because the other place does reek of a Servant causing this mess."
The Servant was a young man with green hair and orange eyes. He wore a forest green trench coat and white armor from his hand to his shoulder.
Archer immediately materialized her Bow, ready to attack the Enemy Servant. "If you wish to Battle then this is the wors-"
"Woah, woah, hold it right there." The Servant said, holding out his hand towards her. "I'm not here to fight, I'm just doing some investigating since my master is in disposed at the moment." The green-haired Servant explains, "Any by my guess, yours is too."
"Who says, but you don't hold any hostilities for the moment," Archer said, still not lowering her guard.
The Servant smiles, "Not lowering your guard, good call. But can we hold off with the Grail War for just a second? There's an important business here to be attended to." He said, walking over to her.
Archer sighs, knowing he's right. "Very well, this is important." She said as the Servant stood next to her.
"I'm the Saber Servant by the way," The green-haired Saber introduced himself to the Archer. "And based on the Bow, you must be the Archer Servant,"
The blue-haired Archer nodded before getting to the point. "So, any ideas on who would cause an outbreak like this? It has to be a Servant that causes it." She asked the Saber next to her.
The Saber placed his hand on his chin, "My guess is either Caster or Assassin could do something like this." The Servant turns to the Archer, having a thought cross his mind. "Hey, I have an idea; why not join forces? My master is a fledgling when it comes to this; you could say she's a regular Human and new to this sort of thing."
"It's only temporary and my master needs the support she could have," Saber explains, feeling bad that she has to deal with a Grail War with everything going on.
"My master is something around…stubborn; but let me run that with him," Archer said, crossing her arms. "But based on who he is then I believe he's willing to hear it out."
"Sounds like a plan," Saber said, happy to find someone he could trust for his master. "Let's meet here later to see what they say."
Archer was skeptical, but the Saber seemed to be trustworthy to her. "Very well, but first can you tell me why you ask me to join forces with you?"
Saber sighs, thinking that was enough to convince the Servant. "Truth be told…my master is in a pickle and the last thing I want for her is to come to terms to kill someone for the Holy Grail." The green-haired Servant explains further. "I really don't need the Grail, I'm just here because my master needed help."
"I see, then let's see how our masters take a temporary alliance between the four of us," Archer said, ready to return to her master's side.
"All right, see you later then Archer." Saber took off to return to her master as Archer did as well.
