"First kidnapping, then stealing missiles, then attempted murder, then trying to steal missiles again. Merlyn's trying really hard to be friends with Darhk." Laurel pointed out.
"Malcolm's convinced Darhk is on the winning side. He's even trying to protect me from whatever he's planning." Thea told us.
"The only thing Darhk should be planning on is getting convicted at Trial. Because he's going back to Prison." I told them.
I was pacing in front of the Idol.
"Why does that thing creep me out the way it does?" Dig questioned.
"Because it's creepy." Laurel answered.
"There's something that I haven't told you guys." I pointed out.
"Shocker." Thea commented.
I looked over at her.
"Sorry." Thea apologized.
"I've seen this Idol before." I informed them.
"What? Where?" Laurel inquired.
"Lian Yu." I answered.
"You really love not talking about that place, don't you?" She retorted.
"Where are we with the security upgrades?" I questioned.
"Everything's in place. We're good to go." Dig answered.
"Because Merlyn knows the Bunker's location. If he's working with Darhk-"
"Then that means we have to worry about him coming down here and stealing this creepy stone thingy. Again." Thea spoke up.
"And what about his plan to hijack the missile shipment?" Laurel questioned.
"Oliver, I think we keep Andy right where he is. That way, we have someone on the inside."
I gave Dig a look.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?"
"Well, he's out from under the influence of Darhk. We can trust him."
"Trust is one thing. Installing him as a double Agent again, that's another. That's a lot of pressure to put on someone. Especially someone that is still in recovery."
"Oliver, Andy is a standup guy. He made a mistake. He's got this."
"And you've got this." Thea told me.
It was a reminder.
"Ruvé Darhk Acceptance Speech."
"You could blow that off. You don't owe Ruvé Darhk anything." Laurel suggested.
"Tradition. Loser attends the winner's acceptance speech."
"You didn't lose. You pulled out of the race because of her husband."
"Which I will try not to mention to the press."
I walked pass her.
"Let's get this over with."
Ruvé
"We worked hard to get to this moment but now the real work begins to make this City great again."
Thea, Oliver, and Laurel were in the crowd.
"Thank you."
Everybody in the crowd clapped.
I waved at the crowd.
Oliver
"Mr. Queen, have time to answer a few questions?"
"I'm not a candidate anymore. I'm just here to support the new Mayor." I answered.
"So, no comment on the write in results?"
"Uh... What write in results?" Thea questioned.
"48% of the electorate wrote in your brother's name on their ballots. That's a historic showing for a candidate who pulled out of the race."
Laurel and Thea were amazed.
"I'll let you and your former opponent catch up."
The reporter walked away.
Ruvé sighed.
"Well, thank you for coming out tonight, Mr. Queen."
We shook hands.
"It's a very gracious gesture."
"I am always gonna have this City's best interests at heart."
"Well, let's hope the same can be said for your friends.""
She looked over at Laurel.
"Miss. Lance, I am so pleased to meet you."
They shook hands.
"I was very impressed by your handling of the Damien Darhk hearing and Prison riot."
"I was just getting warmed up."
"Well, my hope is that you'll be too busy to handle the Trial."
Laurel crossed her arms against her chest.
"District Attorney Remz has taken on a new position as my Deputy Mayor. And I would like you to succeed him as DA. Not temporary DA. Think about it. I think that we could do great things for this City if we worked together."
She nodded her head.
"Thank you."
Ruvé walked away.
Later
Dig and me were sitting in the black van.
"It's past 11:30." I pointed out.
"It's the U.S Army, man. Late means on time." He replied.
"Or we're staking out the wrong place."
"If Andy says this is where it's gonna be, this is where it's gonna be."
Thea
"No movement yet on the missiles." Laurel informed.
"Yeah. We should be out there with them." I gave my opinion.
I had my arms crossed against my chest.
"Even with John's fancy ARGUS toys, this place is more secure with us watching over it."
I stood next to her.
I sighed.
"So, are you gonna do it? Be District Attorney by day and Black Canary by night?"
"I don't know. I mean, it would help having eyes on Mrs. Evil."
"Yeah. Well, if you believe Malcolm, it will be a short-term job anyway. Won't be any need for a DA once the City's destroyed."
"You stopped calling him "Dad."
"Well, that's because he's not Dad. Look. I know I've said that before. But this time, it's different."
I sighed.
"This time, it's mutual."
"That couldn't be further from the truth, dear."
Laurel spun around.
I turned my head.
It was Malcolm.
We walked over to him.
"Mr. Diggle's upgraded security needs a few upgrades by the way."
She looked back at the League members.
"You know why we're here. Hand over the Idol and there won't be any trouble." Malcolm bargained.
"Well, there's gonna be trouble then." I replied to his bargain.
Malcolm looked over at me.
A League member landed in between Laurel and me.
I was fighting him.
Laurel grabbed her black tactical tonfas.
Malcolm ran off.
I kicked the League member backwards.
Laurel kicked him.
I kicked the League member again.
She flipped him on his back.
I ran after Malcolm.
I had grabbed my sword.
Dig
My phone vibrated.
It was a text from Andy.
It said
"Convoy Moving."
Oliver
"Alright. That's the signal."
A truck was passing.
It had Army guys in the back.
A League of Assassins member landed on the roof.
"Guy's dressed like a League of Assassins." Dig pointed out.
"Merlyn probably has a few loyalists left." I answered.
"Get me in position." I ordered.
He started the van.
Dig was driving.
The League Member and a HIVE member were fighting the Soldiers.
He threw the driver out of the truck.
I opened the side doors.
I shot a grappling arrow at the truck.
Malcolm
I located the Idol.
It was in a case.
Thea
"Hyah!" I yelled.
I had lunged at Malcolm with my swords.
He had ducked to miss them.
We were sword fighting.
Malcolm pushed me back against a wall.
Oliver
I shot an arrow at the one of the guys.
I drew another arrow.
I aimed it at a guy dressed in HIVE attire.
I was about to shoot it.
"No, no, no, no! Hold on!"
He removed the mask.
It was Andy.
"It's me, it's me, it's me!"
I lowered my bow.
"Are you always this quiet?" He questioned.
"Come on. We just saved the shipment and you made it look easy." Andy pointed out.
"That's because it was easy."
I looked between Andy and Dig.
I walked away.
Thea
We went back to sword fighting once I got Malcolm off me.
He kicked me in the face when I landed on the floor in a superhero drop.
I knocked Malcolm off his feet.
He landed on his back on the floor.
I got on top of Malcolm.
I had my sword against his throat.
"Unh!" Malcolm commented.
I looked away from him.
Malcolm knocked me off him.
Malcolm
I had knocked Thea out.
Laurel
I knocked both of the League members out.
I ran to find Thea.
Thea
Laurel helped me sit up on the floor.
I stood up.
I gasped.
"The Idol." I told her.
"It's gone." Laurel pointed out.
We stared at the empty spot.
Oliver
I stepped out of the elevator with an arrow loaded in my bow.
"You two can stand down. He's gone." Laurel informed.
The Idol was gone.
"Merlyn?" Dig inquired.
"Yeah. And a few League of Assassin members." Thea answered from the floor.
She stood up.
"He took the Idol. I should have stopped him." Thea continued.
"We should have been here. We- I'm sure you did everything you could." I told her.
Thea shook her head.
"Merlyn's gonna give that Idol to his new friend, Darhk to get his mojo back."
"I've been scouring the street cams. It's like he just vanished." Felicity informed.
"That's why the League calls him "The Magician."
"I'm gonna go hit the streets."
"Thea, no one is gonna give up Merlyn."
"Well, then I'm gonna hit people on the streets."
Thea got suited up.
"I'll check with Andy. See if he can get a 20 on Merlyn."
"Oh, John. Andy has already risked a lot. I don't want to put him in a compromised position."
"Oliver, he's already in a compromised position. There's a direct line between him and the man we are looking for. Let's use that."
I nodded my head.
"Yeah."
Dig walked away.
"Talk to me." Laurel told me.
"This missile job was too easy. It was like Merlyn's men weren't even trying. Meanwhile, it pulled our focus, Merlyn was able to come down here, and get exactly what he wanted."
"You think Merlyn played Andy?"
"What if Andy is playing us?"
"Look. I'm not saying it's not possible, but this is John's brother we're talking about. I mean, he's done so much for us. He- He saved Lyla."
"Should I just trust him outright?"
"No. But you better be sure before making an accusation that you and John can't recover from."
I nodded my head.
Laurel
My phone vibrated.
"It's my Dad. I have to take this."
I walked away.
Ollie walked away.
