Laurel
As DA, I lifted Dad's suspension.
He is the Captain again.
I had granted Dad full immunity for his testimony again.
Darhk
It was Judge Sakow again.
"Please be seated."
All of us sat down.
"First, I'll hear the parties on the question of bail."
"Your Honor, the, uh... The defendant wishes to waive bail so that the, uh... Court can focus its attention on our motion to dismiss." Fitzmartin told her.
"Your Honor, the defenant was apprehended at the site of a child abduction. He stabbed Thea Queen with an arrow."
"Because he was being held captive himself. And because that little Archer in red kept running at him and threatening him. Your Honor, these documents will confirm my Client's identity as Kenneth Bender."
He handed her the file.
"Citizen of Markovia."
"Your Honor, this is ridiculous. The defendant's name is Damien Darhk."
"According to whom? You? Oliver Queen? The media?" Fitzmartin inquired.
He laughed.
"Your Honor, there's absolutely no evidence whatsoever to suggest that my client is this Damien Darhk. Much less prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he committed these acts that Damien Darhk is even accused of."
Laurel approached the bench.
"Your Honor, we have evidence and we will present it at Trial."
"During which time what? My client just rots in Jail? I mean, fortunately, he's no longer in Markovia, right?" Fitzmartin questioned.
"Because, you know, in America, we..."
"We have preliminary hearings to determine whether the State can meet its burden of proof."
"Your Honor-"
"You say you have evidence, Miss. Lance?" Sakow questioned.
"Get ready to present it." She advised.
"Mr. Darhk or Mr. Bender or whatever he's calling himself, is hereby remanded to the Custody of the Department of Corrections to be held until disposition of defendant's motion to dismiss." Sakow informed.
She banged her gavel.
Laurel looked over at me.
